      • 합리주의 건축에 관한 연구 : 프랑스와 이탈리아를 중심으로 Concentrating on France and Italy

        Since the Greece end Roman age, rationalism has been one of the main historical streams of the ideas of the Western architectures, and it has taken a long time for the architecture of modern rationalism to be developed in the eighteenth century through the nineteenth century to the early twentieth century. About the Italian architecture of rationalism that has often been ignored by the historians of architecture, it is being revaluated and reinterpreted on modern architecture, and the systematic examination and analysis are required on the architecture of rationalism as well as on that of neorationalism. The purpose of this study is to explore the architecture of rationalism, that had been developed continuously since the age of the Enlightenment in the eighteenth century through the 1940's, by examining its theoretical backgrounds and the formation process, and on the basis of the understanding, to suggest the theoretical foundation to criticize the contemporary architecture.

      • 敎會建築의 빛 環境에 관한 硏究

        Being difficult to use daylighting, a artificial lighting system has been choosen as an interior lighting source in church. But, it misses not only the opportunity saving energy, but the chance offering dramatic and solemn atmosphere served by using daylighting. This study aims to develop the knowledge of a daylight performance in church. Five examples, Central United Methodist Church, the Universal Chapel Suresnes, Bulkwang-dong Church, Hangang Church, and Banpo church were selected. Foreign examples are analysed by literatural research and domestic examples are investigeted by field survey.

      • Creative Design within an Integrated CAAD Environment

        A design problem cannot be comprehensively stated because the design problem has a multi-disciplinary nature and the design problem itself evolves as solutions are attempted by the designer. Therefore, an ideal computer based design system should have the capability to accommodate the multi-disciplinary nature of design and should not prescribe or restrict design concepts and design knowledge. A well designed integrated design environment provides more information and invokes creative imagination for each design stage, and therefore creative decision making by the designer can be achieved. In this paper, the author argues that creativity is an activity resulting from the ordinary thought process of ordinary individuals and creative action is slow and incremental, and comes from a sound basis of background knowledge. Past experience is the basis for the initial approach to a problem. Provided with a set of supporting facts and all corresponding knowledge, with the help of computer, the result produced by execution of that procedure could be original and novel. Intelligent design systems are based on the premise that there is nothing mystical in the human thinking process. On the basis of the above arguments, the author proposes a prototype architectural design environment, which aims to integrate various applications for designing a building. Within an object-oriented design environment, a unified data model and a data management system have been implemented to seamlessly connect all applications.

      • CAD MODEL에서 물량산출 자동화에 관한 연구

        A building structure can be interpreted as an object composed of various structural elements, such as columns, beams, slabs, bearing walls, foundations, staircases etc. In order to automate the material take-off of the building structures, therefore, the hierarchical relation of the design components, needs to be clearly defined from the design stage. In this paper, each design component is defined to have two kinds of information: the information to represent the physical properties that are the sectional shape of the concrete and the arrangement of the reinforcement and the form, the information to explain the geometric and topological characteristics that are the length, the depth, the height, the width, the number of the units, and the relation between units. All the information is generated automatically from the CAD model and calculated into the bill of materials with the relation of the external database for material descriptions.

      • A Theoretical Analysis of the Managerial Environment in the Korean Construction Industry

        Since the Korean construction contractors captured over 11% of the overseas market and twenty-five of them were listed in the top 250 international contractors in 1983 (ENR, 1984), they have struggled against the inefficiency of their organizations, the accelerating competition, and the rapid changes in the managerial environment. Although the various features of the environment required variety in the strategy and organizational structure, the managers have not kept pace with the requirement, but have showed an inability to predict if changes will have an influence on their organizations and, furthermore, they lack understanding of what response is proper to the environmental changes they face. The understanding of the suitability of an organization's structure and managerial environment can help evaluate the competitive power of the organization. This study will describe some problems in the Korean construction industry and, through an analysis of the Korean construction organization and managerial environment based on theories, suggest the directions in which the industry should move to develop. Through the process of this study the Korean construction organizations and their development phases are classified into five categories based on theories, and the environmental factors and the Korean contractors' responses to the changing environment are surveyed.

      • 地下鐵 振動에 의한 構造物의 擧動에 관한 硏究

        저층의 철근콘크리트 구조물에 지하철의 운행에 의한 거동을 조사하였다. 적용된 하중은 지하철의 운행시 터널의 바닥에서 측정된 진동 가속도를 사용하였다. 지하철의 운행에 의하여 발생되는 진동 중 고주파 성분은 대부분 지반을 통과하면서 흡수되며, 이러한 고주파 성분들은 건물과 같이 중량이 큰 구조물에는 거의 영향을 미치지 않으므로 이러한 효과를 고려하기 위하여 DFT(Discrete Fourier Transform)를 사용한 기법을 응용하였다. 경간이 다른 4가지 종류(6m,7.2m, 8m, 9m)의 저층 철근콘크리트 건물에 대한 거동을 조사한 결과 8m 경간을 가진 건물이 초대 반응을 보였다. 따라서 지하철 운행로 주변의 건물의 경우 8m 경간을 피하는 것이 좋은 것으로 나타났다. Response of low-rise reinforced concrete building due to subway operation has been studied by forcing modified actual vibration acceleration obtained from invert of the tunnel structure. Discrete Fourier Transformation(DFT) and the inverse a DFT was since most of the high frequency vibration is eliminated while it is passing through the soil. Furthermore, high frequency vibration gives little effect to massive structure such as buildings. It was found from this study that 8m span length of low-rise reinforced concrete building is not recommended nearby railway tracks since the amplitude of a vertical vibration showed maximum value compared to other 4(6m, 7.2m, 8m and 9m) types.

      • 초고층 구조물에서 기둥축소량 계산을 위한 프로그램 개발에 관한 연구

        The higher a building, the larger compression stress occurs on columns caused by increasing vertical and horizontal load. The vertical members such as columns or walls cause differential displacement due to the accumulated gravity loads. Such kind of shortening not only decrease serviceability but also affect the structure by arising secondary stress. Therefore, the purpose of this study is in investigating the characteristic of a high-rise building and in developing computer simulation program which could be used for practical engineers. Developed software is consist of three major steps which are preprocessor, processor, and postprocessor. Verification of accuracy for the developed program was accomplished by calculating elastic shortening of the selected model. There is 0.025% of difference comparing the result of theoretical value and the reason of the difference is a round-off error comes out during calculation. The result was also compared to the actual survey data obtained from specific columns of a high-rise building which gives very dependable value.
