        To elucidate objectively the clinical effect of Sunghyangjunggisan frequently used as emergency treatment in the primary stage of C. V. A., the influence of Sunghyangjunggisan on the pressor responcce to raised ICP by infusing saline into a balloon placed in the epidural space was invesstigated in urethane ahesthetized rabbits, the results were as follws; 1. The blood pressure increased in parallel with the raised ICP which was made by infusing saline into a balloon. 2. The decrease of ICP and BP was observed after the administration of Sunghyangjunggisan. 3. Atropine did not affect the decrease of ICP and BP induced by Sunghyangjunggisan. 4.The decrease ICP and BP by Sunghyangjunggisan was significantly inhibited by pretreated Regitine. 5. Propranolol did not affect the decrease of ICP and BP induced by Sunghyangjunggisan. 6. Cyproheptadine did not affect the decrease of ICP and BP induced by Sunghyangjunggisan. These results show that Sunghyangjunggisan influenced adrenergic α-receptor to decrease ICP and that Sunghyangjunggisan may be used in the treatment of several symptoms induced by the raised ICP in the emergency stage of C. V. A.

      • 高麗人蔘의 白鼠 子宮筋收縮力 및 子宮內壓自發運動에 미치는 影響 (Ⅱ)

        Ginseng has been employed for a large variety of disorders as a panaceal therapeutic drug as well as a tonic remedy in oriental medicine for centuries. But its mysterious effect are not yet fully elucidated. However, as a results of numerous investigations, panax saponin, and etherial and non-etherial components have been isolated from ginseng, and a wide range of their pharmacological properties has been ascribed. Among those studies on ginseng, many investigators have observed that ginseng extract causes a marked contraction of intestinal or uterine strip, and have ascribed it to the release or endogenous histamine or 5-hydroxytryptamine. This investigation was carried out to see the effect if ginseng ethanol extract on the contractile force, intrauterine pressure, and spontaneous activity of isolated rat uteris, and to elucidate its mechanism. Ginseng elicited concentration-dependant increas of contractile force, intrauterine pressure and spontaneous activity of nonpregnant and pregnant rat uterus. Ginseng (1 or 100mg/㎖) caused a parallel shift of the dose response curve of acetylcholine, histamine or 5-hydroxytrytamine : But ginseng did not change the dose respone curve of oxytocin. Ginseng potentiated the acetylcholine, histamine or 5-hydroxtryptamine induced increase of contractile force, intrauterine pressure and spontaneous activity of the rat uterus, but did not effect the action of oxytocin in the preparation. Atropine (10 ug/㎖) did not inhibit the action of ginseng, bit phenyramine (10 ug/㎖) or cyproheptadine (0.5 ug/㎖) partially blocked the action of ginseng. Change of electrolyte concentration in the medium affects the contractile force of, intrauterine pressure and spontaneous activity of the preparation. However, decrease of Na ion, or increase of K ion or Ca ion in the medium diminished the action of ginseng, while increase of Mg ion or addition of Mn ion into the medium scarcely affect the action of ginseng. Thus, it is sugested that effect of gindeng ethanol extract on the contractile force, intrauterine pressure and spontaneous activity of the rat uterus is partly due to release of endogenous substances such as histamine and 5-hydroxytryptamine, and partly due to direct related to muscle contraction is conceivably comprised. It is obtained that as results of those above experiments, Panax Ginseng seems to be effective in preventing and treatmenting for gynecological diseases which is corelated with of uterine contractile force, intra-uterine pressure and spontaneous activity.

      • 當歸鬚散 煎湯液이 家兎의 血壓降下에 미치는 影響

        The present study was undertaken to investigate the effects of DANG KWI WOO SAN water extract on the blood pressure in rabbits. The results obtained are follows; 1. Blood pressure manifested gradual response by the fall of 17.6±2.1, 32.2±1.8㎜Hg in proportion to the administration of 0.5, 1.0㎖/Kg of DSS. 2. Administration of DSS 1㎖/Kg to the rabbits pretreated with atropine, pheniramine maleate did not show any significant difference in blood pressure compared with those of the control group. 3. Administration of DSS to the rabbits pretreated with propranolol showed significant difference in blood pressure compared with those of the group.

      • 百會穴의 Laser 光線鍼 刺戟이 自發性 高血壓 白鼠의 血壓에 미치는 影響

        This study was undertaken to investigate the effect of Laser beam acupuncture at the GV.20 on the blood pressure in Spontaneously Hypertensive Rats and Sprague Dawleys. The obtained results are summarized as follows; 1. In SHR, the systolic blood pressure decreased significantly by Laser beam acupuncture at the GV. 20 through all experimental period. 2. In Sprague Dawleys, the systolic blood pressure was not changed by Laser beam acupuncture at the GV.20 through all experimental period. As the results of this experiment, it is considered that Laser beam acupuncture at the GV.20 can be used effectively in treatment of hyper tension.

      • 艾灸가 家兎의 胃運動에 미치는 影響

        This experimental studies were carried out in order to prove the effectiveness of moxibustion on the gastric motility in Unanesthetic Rabbits. The Kan-Soo (B.18), Dam-Soo (B.19), Keun-Chook (GV.8) moxibustion are effectiveness on gastro-intestinal tract troubles. (chronic gastritis, gastrospasm, abdominalpain, vomiting, anorexia, gastroptosis etc.). The following results were obtained by investigating the change of the gastric motility of rabbits moxibistion at the meridian point B.18, B.19, GV.8. 1. The average gastric motility was increased 57.73% by the moxibustion stimulation at the meridian point B.18. 2. The average gastric motility was increased 36.73% by the moxibustion stimulation at the meridian point B.19. 3. The average gastric motility was increased 16.78% by the moxibustion stimulstion at the meridian point GV.8. 4. It is considered that effects of moxibustion accoring to this experimental studies on the increased gastric motility is concerned in gastro-intestinal tract trouble.

      • 四物湯 煎湯液이 家兎의 血壓降下에 미치는 影響

        Sa Mool Tang had been applied in the oriental medcine, it exerts good therapeutics effect basic prescription of anemia and cerebro-vascular accident. The basic effect and the mechanism of Sa Mool Tang on the blood pressure are mot clear. This experiment was carried out in order to study the pharmacology especially depressor response of Sa Mool Tang and its clarify the mechanism of action in rabbits. The results of the experiment were not follows: 1. Blood pressure manifested gradual responsly the fall of -18.5 ±2.3㎜Hg in proportion to the administration do 1.5㎖/㎏ of water extract of Sa Mool Tang. 2. Administration of water extract of Sa Mool Tang to the rabbits pretreated with atropine, propranolol, pheniramine meleate showed significant difference in blood pressure compared with the control group. 3. Administration of Sa Mool Tang to the rabbits pretreated with hexamethonium not show significant difference in blood pressure compared with control group.
