No Blind Spot: Network Coverage Enhancement Through Joint Cooperation and Frequency Reuse

Both coordinated multi-point transmission and frequency reuse are effective approaches to mitigate inter-cell interference and improve network coverage. The motivation of this work is to explore the manner to effectively utilize the spectrum resource by reasonably combining cooperation and frequency reuse. The $Mat{\acute{e}}rn$ cluster process, which is appropriate to model networks with hot spots, is used to model the spatial distribution of base stations. Two cooperative mechanisms, coherent and non-coherent joint transmission (JT), are analyzed and compared. We also evaluate the effect of multiple antennas and imperfect channel state information. The simulation reveals that the proposed approach to combine cooperation and frequency reuse is effective to improve the network coverage for users located at both the center and the boundary of the cooperative region.
Severe Cutaneous Adverse Reactions: A Single-Center Retrospective Study of 173 Patients in China

Background: Severe cutaneous adverse reactions (SCAR) to drugs are a crucial public health issue and the use of systemic corticosteroids in SCAR has been controversial. Objective: To analyze clinical features, causative drugs, treatment, outcomes, and prognostic factors of SCAR in the case-series of 173 patients, and add more information to the debate of using systemic corticosteroids in SCAR management. Methods: A retrospective study of 173 SCAR patients diagnosed with drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS), Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS)/toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) or acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP) at a tertiary care institution in China between January 2014 and December 2017 was conducted. Results: Of 173 patients, allopurinol, carbamazepine, and antibiotics are the most frequently implicated drugs for DRESS (40.4%), SJS/TEN (26.0%), and AGEP (40.0%) respectively. Moreover, there is a strongly negative correlation between early corticosteroids use and the progression (p=0.000) and severity (p=0.01) of skin lesions. However, there is no association between early corticosteroids use and the mortality of SCAR (odds ratio: 1.01, 95% confidence interval: 0.95∼1.08). In addition, lymphadenopathy, eosinophilia, and interval from onset to corticosteroids treatment were correlated with SCAR prognosis. Conclusion: Prompt short-course systemic corticosteroids use is associated with early-stage skin lesions remission without influencing the disease mortality. Lymphadenopathy and eosinophilia were the independent poor prognostic factors of SCAR. (Ann Dermatol 31(5) 545∼ 554, 2019)

Recently, Peng et al. proposed a primal-dual interior-point method with new search direction and self-regular proximity for LP. This new large-update method has the currently best theoretical performance with polynomial complexity of O(n<수식> log <수식>). In this paper we use this search direction to propose a primal-dual interior-point method for con- vex quadratic programming (QP). We overcome the difficulty in analyz- ing the complexity of the primal-dual interior-point methods for convex quadratic programming, and obtain the same polynomial O(n<수식> log <수식>) for convex quadratic programming. This paper proposes an infeasible interior-point algorithm with full-Newton step for linear programming. We introduce a special self-regular proximity to induce the feasibility step and also to measure proximity to the central path. The result of polynomial complexity coincides with the best-known iteration bound for infeasible interior-point methods, namely, O(nlog n/ε).

As an effective means of remotely detecting the spectral information of the object, the spectral calibration for the Savart polarization interference imaging spectrometer (SPIIS) is a basis and prerequisite of information quantification, and its experimental calibration scheme is firstly proposed in this paper. In order to evaluate the accuracy of the spectral information acquisition, the linear interpolation, cubic spline interpolation, and piecewise cubic interpolation algorithms are adopted, and the precision of the quadratic polynomial fitting is the highest, whose fitting error is better than 5.8642 nm in the wavelength range of [500 nm, 820 nm]. Besides, the inversed value of the spectral resolution for the monochromatic light is greater than the theoretical value, and the deviation between them becomes larger with the wavelength increasing, which is mainly caused by the structural design of the SPIIS, together with the rationality of the spectral restoration algorithm and the selection of the maximum optical path difference (OPD). This work demonstrates that the SPIIS has achieved high performance assuring the feasibility of its practical use in various fields.
An Overview of Compressive Trackers

Compressive tracking is considerably popular in the visual tracking community in recent years. The very strong theoretic support from compressive sensing motivates many researchers to follow and there are a wide range of compressive trackers with attractive performances. The goal of this paper is to overview some of the most recent state-of-the-art compressive trackers in the literature. First, a variety of compressive trackers are thoroughly introduced and summarized. Second, extensive analyses from different perspectives, including random measurement matrix, compressive features, feature selection strategy and so forth, aim to provide readers a good understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of different trackers. Finally, several possible future trends for compressive trackers are outlined to hopefully bring some insights to interesting researchers.
