This paper deals with free vibration of plates with steps and internal line supports by using a modified matched interface and boundary (MMIB) method. Different kinds of interfaces caused by steps, rigid and elastic line supports and their combinations are taken into account. Detailed MMIB procedures for dealing with these different interfaces are presented. Various examples are chosen to illustrate the accuracy and convergence of MMIB method. Numerical results show that the proposed MMIB is a highly accurate and convergent approach for solving the title issue. This study will extend the application range of MMIB method.

Dynamic instability of beams subjected to periodic axial forces is studied using the discrete singular convolution (DSC) method with the regularized Shannon’s delta kernel. The principal regions of dynamic instability under different boundary conditions are examined in detail, and the non-stationary vibrations near the stability-instability critical regions have been investigated. It is found that the results obtained by using the DSC method are consistent with the analytical solutions, which shows that the DSC algorithm is suitable for the problems considered in this study. It was found that there is a narrow region of beat vibration existed in the vicinity of one side (θ/Ω > 1) of the boundaries of the instable region for each condition.
Bubble formation in a step-emulsification microdevice: hydrodynamic effects in the cavity
Zhiwei Zhang,Zhongdong Wang,Fengrui Bao,Mengyu Fan,Shaokun Jiang,Chunying Zhu,Youguang Ma,Taotao Fu 한국공업화학회 2021 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.94 No.-
This study focuses on the generation of bubbles in a step-emulsification microdevice via a two-anglephotography method. It's found that the bubble generation mechanism is controlled by the interfacialtension, below a critical capillary number; while controlled by viscous force, inertial force and thedisturbance induced by the bubble swarm, above the critical capillary number. From the two-anglephotography method, a model is established for predicting the bubble size, by taking into account of thedynamic contact angle between gas-liquid interface and wall, and the hydrodynamic feedback of thecavity on bubble formation via the quantification of resistance by the volume fraction of gas in the cavity.

Promotional effects of Ce4+, La3+ and Nd3+ incorporations on FeCu2O3.5/ATS for decomposing N2O wereinvestigated. Results showed that all the ions especially La3+ can dramatically improve the catalyticperformance. FeCu2La1.5Ox/ATS, the optimal catalyst, can decompose 100% N2O at 550 8C. The formedperovskite-type LaFeO3 and spinel-type CuLa2O4 largely improved catalytic performance. The ionmodification increased N2O adsorption capacity, and La3+-doped catalyst enhanced desorption ability ofsurface oxygen. Both effects can accelerate the rate-determine steps of N2O decomposition reaction, promote catalytic performance. Moreover, the supported catalysts studied were economic efficiency forapplication.
ISBORD: Internet Searching based on Resource Description
Zhiwei Yan,Sherali Zeadally,Guanggang Geng 한국통신학회 2017 ICT Express Vol.3 No.1
Based on the Information-Centric Networking (ICN) concept and the mature model of the current TCP/IP-based Internet, we propose content searching based on universal and scalable resource description, namely ISBORD (Internet Searching based on Resource Description). This novel concept aims to improve the efficiency of content searching and simplifies the end-user functionality to support the evolution of the content-centric Internet.

Emodin, a natural anthraquinone compound isolated from the rhizome of rhubarb, is reported to suppress the growth of tumor in many clinical situations. In this study, we focused on the effect of emodin in human breast cancer BCap-37 cells and further understand the underlying molecular mechanism in treating breast cancer. Using MTT assay and flow cytometry, we demonstrated the critical role of emodin in the suppression of the proliferation of BCap-37 cells based on a concentration- and time-dependent manner. The increase of apoptotic rate was also observed after incubation of BCap-37 cells on emodin at 20 μM and 50 μM for 48 h. The cells exhibited typical apoptotic features including cellular morphological change, chromatin condensation and membrane blebbing. The results of the study further showed that Bcl-2 level decreased, while Bax and cytosolic cytochrome c levels in sample cells increased after the emodin treatment by using Western blot. The decline in the Bcl-2/Bax ratio and the increase of cytosolic cytochrome c concentration were consistent with the increase of the apoptotic ratio. The results strongly suggest that the disruption of the mitochondrial signaling pathway was involved in emodin-induced apoptosis in BCap-37 cells.
Joint Deployment and Trajectory Optimization in UAV-Assisted Vehicular Edge Computing Networks
Zhiwei Wu,Zilin Yang,Chao Yang,Jixu Lin,Yi Liu,Xin Chen 한국통신학회 2022 Journal of communications and networks Vol.24 No.1
As the general mobile edge computing (MEC)scheme cannot adequately handle the emergency communicationrequirements in vehicular networks, unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)-assisted vehicular edge computing networks (VECNs) areenvisioned as the reliable and cost-efficient paradigm for themobility and flexibility of UAVs. UAVs can perform as thetemporary base stations to provide edge services for road vehicleswith heavy traffic. However, it takes a long time and huge energyconsumption for the UAV to fly from the stay charging stationto the mission areas disorderly. In this paper, we design a predispatchUAV-assisted VECNs system to cope with the demandof vehicles in multiple traffic jams. We propose an optimalUAV flight trajectory algorithm based on the traffic situationawareness. The cloud computing center (CCC) server predictsthe real-time traffic conditions, and assigns UAVs to differentmission areas periodically. Then, a flight trajectory optimizationproblem is formulated to minimize the cost of UAVs, while boththe UAV flying and turning energy costs are mainly considered. Inaddition, we propose a deep reinforcement learning(DRL)-basedenergy efficiency autonomous deployment strategy, to obtain theoptimal hovering position of UAV at each assigned mission area. Simulation results demonstrate that our proposed method canobtain an optimal flight path and deployment of UAV with lowerenergy consumption.
