        Revisiting the Purpose of Health Education and Physical Education and Its Relationship

        본 연구의 목적은 건강교육(HE)과 체육(PE)의 의미와 역할, 그 관계를 다시 살펴보는 것이었다. 많은 중국 PE 교사들은 새로 개정된 PE 교육과정을 혼동하고 있으며, 여전히 체육특기만을 가르치는 데 중점을 둔 전통적인 PE 모델을 습관적으로 따르고 있다. 때문에 체육교육자들이 중국에서 양질의 PE를 실천할 수 있도록 HE와 PE의 의미 및 역할의 상호관계를 명확히 할 필요가 있다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해, HE와 PE에 관한 문헌을 검토하여 연구문제에 답하였다. 이 연구는 HE와 PE가 공통점을 가지고 있지만 약간 다르다는 것을 발견했다. 공통점은 다음과 같다: 각 과목의 주요 교육 목표, 행동변화 및 교육이 이루어지는 장소. 차이점은 주로 건강에 영향을 미치는 요인의 관점과 건강을 향상시키기 위해 접근하는 방법이다. 결론적으로, 중국에서 새로운 “스포츠(건강) 교과 과정 표준 (개요)”의 구현은 이상적이지 않다. 학생들의 체력 저하가 지속되는 것은 새로운 기준의 실패 때문일 것이다. 현재 당면한 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 국가 PE 교육과정과 표준 설계를 담당하는 교육자들이 HE와 PE의 목적, HE와 PE가 해야 할 일, HE와 PE의 목적을 어떻게 달성할 수 있는지 등을 진지하게 고민할 필요가 있다. 이러한 고려는 중국의 PE와 HE의 질을 발전시키고 다른 선진국들과 보조를 맞추는 데 도움이 될 것이다. The purpose of this study was to revisit the connotation and role of health education (HE) and physical education (PE) and their relationship. Since many PE teachers are confused with the newly established PE curriculum in China and still habitually following the traditional PE model which merely focuses on the teaching of sports skills, it is necessary to clarify the meaning and role of HE and PE and their mutual relations to help physical educators to implement quality PE in China. To achieve the purpose of this study, this study reviewed the works of literature regarding HE and PE to answer the research questions. This study found that HE and PE share the common points but differ slightly. The common points are as followings: the primary educational goal of each subject, behavior change, and place where the education occurs. The differences are mainly the perspectives of influencing factors of health and ways to approach to enhance health. In conclusion, the implementation of the new “Sports (and Health) Curriculum Standards (Outline)” in China is not ideal. The continued decline of the physical fitness of students may be due to the failure of the new standards. To solve the currently facing problem, educators who are in charge of designing national PE curriculums and standards need to seriously consider the purpose of HE and PE, what HE and PE should do, and how the purpose of HE and PE can be achieved. This consideration would help to develop the quality of PE and HE in China and keep pace with other advanced countries.

        Wavelet PWM Technique for Single-Phase Three-Level Inverters

        The wavelet PWM (WPWM) technique has been applied in two-level inverters successfully, but directly applying the WPWM technique to three-level inverters is impossible. This paper proposes a WPWM technique suitable for a single-phase three-level inverter. The work analyzes the control strategy with the WPWM and obtains the design of its parameters. Compared with the SPWM technique for a single-phase three-level inverter under the same conditions, the WPWM can obtain high magnitudes of the output fundamental frequency component, low total harmonic distortion, and simpler digital implementation. The feasibility experiment is given to verify of the proposed WPWM technique.

      • Analysis on Clinical Characteristics and Influencing Factors of Patients with Locoregionally Advanced Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

        Background: To explore the independent prognostic factors for the recurrence/metastasis of patients with locoregionally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (LANPC). Materials and Methods: A total of 604 patients initially diagnosed as LANPC by pathohistology in Fujian Provincial Cancer Hospital were selected to analyze the relationship between the clinical pathological patterns, therapeutic protocols and clinical stages with the recurrence/metastasis of LANPC. Results: The 1-, 3- and 5-year locoregionally recurrent rates of LANPC patients were 2.0%, 9.5% and 12.9% respectively, with average recurrent period being 78 months. Univariate analysis results indicated that clinical stages had certain influence on the recurrent period of LANPC patients. However, COX regression models showed that ages, genders and clinical stages were not the independent prognostic factors influencing the recurrence. The 1-, 3- and 5-year metastatic rates of LANPC patients were 6.6%, 17.5% and 18.8% respectively, with average metastatic period of 73 months. Univariate analysis results demonstrated that ages, N stages, clinical stages, locations of lymph node, retropharyngeal lymph node and extracapsular invasion of lymph node had certain influence on the metastatic period of LANPC patients. Additionally, further COX regression analysis results suggested that T stages, reduction protocols and extracapsular invasion of lymph node were the independent prognostic factors influencing the metastasis of patients with LANPC, in which T stages and extracapsular invasion of lymph node were the pestilent factors while reduction protocols the protective factor. Conclusions: Induction chemotherapy is beneficial to LANPC patients with initial treatment, and the metastatic rate decreases greatly after the application of reduction chemotherapy.

      • Prognostic Impact of Elevation of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Family Expression in Patients with Non-small Cell lung Cancer: an Updated Meta-analysis

        Background: The vascular endothelial growth factor family has been implicated in tumorigenesis and metastasis. The prognostic value of each vascular endothelial growth factor family member, particular VEGF/VEGFR co-expression, in patients with non-small lung cancer remains controversial. Materials and Methods: Relevant literature was identified by searching PubMed, EMBASE and Web of Science. Studies evaluating expression of VEGFs and/or VEGFRs by immunohistochemistry or ELISA in lung cancer tissue were eligible for inclusion. Hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) from individual study were pooled by using a fixed- or random-effect model, heterogeneity and publication bias analyses were also performed. Results: 74 studies covering 7,631 patients were included in the meta-analysis. Regarding pro-angiogenesis factors, the expression of VEGFA (HR=1.633, 95%CI: 1.490-1.791) and VEGFR1 (HR=1.924, 95%CI: 1.220-3.034) was associated separately with poor survival. Especially, VEGFA over-expression was an independent prognostic factor in adenocarcinoma (ADC) (HR=1.775, 95%CI: 1.384-2.275) and SCC (HR=2.919, 95%CI: 2.060-4.137). Co-expression of VEGFA/VEGFR2 (HR=2.011, 95%CI: 1.405-2.876) was also significantly associated with worse survival. For lymphangiogenesis factors, the expression of VEGFC (HR=1.611, 95%CI: 1.407-1.844) predicted a poor prognosis. Co-expression of VEGFC/VEGFR3 (HR=2.436, 95%CI: 1.468-4.043) emerged as a preferable prognostic marker. Conclusions: The expression of VEGFA (particularly in SCC and early stage NSCLC), VEGFC, VEGFR1 indicates separately an unfavorable prognosis in patients with NSCLC. Co-expression VEGFA/VEGFR2 is comparable with VEGFC/VEGFR3, both featuring sufficient discrimination value as preferable as prognostic biologic markers.

        Capillary Water Absorption Properties of Steel Fiber Reinforced Coal Gangue Concrete under Freeze-Thaw Cycles

        The service life of coal gangue concrete(CGC) strongly depends on the capillary water absorption, this water absorption is susceptible to freeze-thaw cycles. In this paper, the cumulative water absorption and sorptivity were obtained to study the effects of 0, 0.5, 1.0, and 1.5 % steel fiber volume fraction added on the water absorption of CGC. Sorptivity and freeze-thaw tests were conducted, and the capillary water absorption was evaluated by the rate of water absorption(sorptivity). Three prediction models for the initial sorptivity of steel fiber reinforced coal gangue concrete(SFRCGC) under freeze-thaw cycles were established to evaluate the capillary water absorption of SFRCGC. Results showed that, without freeze-thaw cycles, the water absorption of CGC decreased when steel fiber at 1.0 % volume fraction was added, however, the water absorption increased with the addition of 0.5 or 1.5 % steel fibers. Once the SFRCGC specimens were exposed to freeze-thaw cycles, the water absorption of SFRCGC significantly increased, and 1.0 % steel fiber in volume fraction added to CGC caused the lowest water absorption, except for the case of the sample without steel fibers added. The CGC with steel fiber at 1.0 % volume fraction performed better. The SFRCGC has a strong response to freeze-thaw cycles. Results also showed that the linear function prediction model is practical in the field of engineering because of its simple form and a relatively high precision. Although the polynomial prediction model presents the highest computation precision among the three models, the complicated form and too many coefficients make it impractical for engineering applications.

        Identification of the Genes Involved in the Fruiting Body Production and Cordycepin Formation of Cordyceps militaris Fungus

        A mutant library of Cordyceps militaris was constructed by improved Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation and screened for degradation features. Six mutants with altered characters in in vitro and in vivo fruiting body production, and cordycepin formation were found to contain a single copy T-DNA. T-DNA flanking sequences of these mutants were identified by thermal asymmetric interlaced-PCR approach. ATP-dependent helicase, cytochrome oxidase subunit I and ubiquitin-like activating enzyme were involved in in vitro fruiting body production, serine/threonine phosphatase involved in in vivo fruiting body production, while glucose-methanol-choline oxidoreductase and telomerase reverse transcriptase involved in cordycepin formation. These genes were analyzed by bioinformatics methods, and their molecular function and biology process were speculated by Gene Ontology (GO) analysis. The results provided useful information for the control of culture degeneration in commercial production of C. militaris.

        An Improved Wavelet PWM Technique with Output Voltage Amplitude Control for Single-phase Inverters

        Unlike existing pulse-width modulation (PWM) techniques, such as sinusoidal PWM and random PWM, the wavelet PWM (WPWM) technique based on a Harr wavelet function can achieve a high fundamental component for the output voltage, low total harmonic distortion, and simple digital implementation. However, the original WPWM method lacks output voltage control. Thus, the practical application of the WPWM technique is limited. This study proposes an improved WPWM technique that can regulate output voltage amplitude with the addition of a parameter. The relationship between the additional parameter and the output voltage amplitude is analyzed in detail. Experimental results verify that the improved WPWM exhibits output voltage control in addition to all the merits of the WPWM technique.

        Evolution of 49 Phenolic Compounds in Shortly-aged Red Wines Made from Cabernet Gernischt (Vitis vinifera L. cv.)

        A total of 49 phenolic compounds were identified from the aged red wines made from Cabernet Gernischt (Vitis vinifera L. cv.) grapes, a Chinese characteristic variety, including 13 anthocyanins, 4 pryanocyanins, 4 flavan-3-ol monomers, 6 flavan-3-ol polymers, 7 flavonols, 6 hydroxybenzoic acids, 5 hydroxycinnamic acids, 3 stilbenes, and 1 polymeric pigment. Evolution of these compounds was investigated in wines aged 1 to 13 months. Variance analysis showed that the levels of most phenolics existed significant difference in between wines aged 3 and 9 months. Cluster analysis indicated that 2 groups could be distinguished, one corresponding to wines aged 1 to 3 months and the other to wines aged 4 to 13 months. It was thus suggested that there were 2 key-stages for the development of fine wine quality, at the aged 3 and 9 months, respectively. This work would provide some helpful information for quality control in wine production.

        Corynebacterium defluvii sp. nov., isolated from Sewage

        A Gram-positive, aerobic, non-motile, rod-shapeds, cata-lase-positive, and oxidase-negative strain, designated Y49T, was isolated from sewage collected from Jilin Agricultural University, China. It grew at 20–40°C (optimum at 30°C), at pH 6.0–8.0 (optimum at 7.0) and at 0–1.0% sodium chlo-ride (optimum at 0%). The major isoprenoid quinone was menaquinone-8 (MK-8) and the polar lipids were diphos-phatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylmethy-lethanolamine, four unidentified lipids, and two unidenti-fied aminolipids. The peptidoglycan was meso-diaminopi-melic acid. The cell-wall sugars were galactose, arabinose, and glucose. The fatty acids were C9:0, C16:0, C16:1 ω9c, C17:1 ω9c, C18:3 ω6c (6,9,12), C18:1 ω9c, and C18:0. The DNA G+C content was 51.4 mol%. Based on the 16S rRNA gene se-quence analysis, the nearest phylogenetic neighbors of strain Y49T were Corynebacterium efficiens DSM 44549T (97.5%), Corynebacterium callunae DSM 20147T (97.2%), Coryne-bacterium deserti GIMN 1.010T (96.8%), Corynebacterium glutamicum ATCC 13032T (96.4%), and other species belong-ing to this genus (92.3–95.4%). The DNA-DNA relatedness value between strain Y49T and C. efficiens DSM 44549T, C. callunae DSM 20147T, C. deserti GIMN1.010T, and C. gluta-micum ATCC 13032T was 25.5±2.0%, 21.1±1.0%, 16.5±0.5%, and 13.5±0.9%, respectively. Based on the phylogenetic an-alysis, chemotaxonomic data, physiological characteristics and DNA-DNA hybridization data, strain Y49T represents a novel species of the genus Corynebacterium, for which the name Corynebacterium defluvii sp nov. is proposed. The type strain is Y49T (= KCTC 39731T =CGMCC 1.15506T).

        A Parameter Identification Method for Lithium-Ion Batteries Using Simplified Impedance Model and Fractional Order Kalman Filter

        Reliable battery model and identifi ed model parameter are the preconditions for Power battery state estimation with high precision. Aiming at the disadvantage of existing integer order impedance modeling in characterizing the dynamic characteristics of Lithium-ion ferrous phosphate (LFP) batteries, a simplifi ed fractional order (FO) impedance model including constant phase element and Warburg element is proposed based on the analysis of simplifi ed electrochemical impedance spectroscopy curve. With the Grunwald–Letnikov defi nition based factional order numerical calculation, the FO Kalman fi lter (FO-KF) method based on the derived model is designed to identify the FO impedance model parameter and terminal voltage. The proposed FO impedance model can better represent the nonlinear dynamic performances of LFP batteries, and the Grunwald–Letnikov defi nition based FO-KF algorithm can maintain good accuracy in the numerical calculation of FO parameter identifi cation. The experimental validation results show that the combination of simplifi ed FO impedance model and FO-KF method can improve the modeling precision and parameter identifi cation performance compared with the common integer order impedance model under two diff erent test conditions.
