A Secure Encryption-Based Malware Detection System

Malware detections continue to be a challenging task as attackers may be aware of the rules used in malware detection mechanisms and constantly generate new breeds of malware to evade the current malware detection mechanisms. Consequently, novel and innovated malware detection techniques need to be investigated to deal with this circumstance. In this paper, we propose a new secure malware detection system in which API call fragments are used to recognize potential malware instances, and these API call fragments together with the homomorphic encryption technique are used to construct a privacy-preserving Naive Bayes classifier (PP-NBC). Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed PP-NBC can successfully classify instances of malware with a hit-rate as high as 94.93%.

Using the integral average method, we establish some oscillation criteria for the nonlinear differential equation with damped term $$a(t)|{x}^{\prime}(t)|^{\sigma-1}{x}^{\prime}(t)^{\prime}+p(t)|{x}^{\prime}(t)|^{\sigma-1}{x}^{\prime}(t)+q(t)f(x(t))=0,\;{\sigma}>1$$, where the functions $a,\;p$ and $q$ are real-valued continuous functions defined on $[t_o,{\infty})$ with $a(t)>0,\;f(x){\in}C^1(\mathbb{R})$ and $\frac{f^{\prime}(u)}{|f^{({\sigma}-1)/{\sigma}}(u)|}{\geq}k>0$ for $u{\neq}0$.
Joint Template Matching Algorithm for Associated Multi-object Detection

A joint template matching algorithm is proposed in this paper to reduce the high rate of miss-detection and false-alarm caused by the traditional template matching algorithm during the process of multi-object detection. The proposed algorithm can reduce the influence on each object by matching all objects together according to the correlation information among different objects. Moreover, the rate of miss-detection and false-alarm in the process of single-template matching is also reduced based on the algorithm. In this paper, firstly, joint template is created from the information of relative positions among different objects. Then, matching criterion according to normalized cross correlation is generated for multi-object matching. Finally, the proposed algorithm is applied to the detection of watermarks in bill. The experiments show that the proposed algorithm has lower miss-detection and false-alarm rate comparing to the traditional NCC algorithm during the process of multi-object detection.
