Simulation of Tensile Bolts in Finite Element Modeling of Semi-rigid Beam-to-column Connections

This paper presents an innovative bolt model suitable for the three dimensional finite element analysis (FEA) of the semirigid beam-to-column bolted connections. The model is particularly useful for the moment-rotation relationship of beam-tocolumn connections, especially in cases where the connectors such as endplates, angles, T-stubs, are not particularly thin. In this paper, the bolt tensile behavior is firstly discussed by using a refined finite element model, in which the complex geometries of both external and internal threads were modeled. Then, the bolt behavior predicted by the commonly used models was compared with that of the refined FEA to appraise the accuracy of these models. The comparison shows most of the models commonly used can not predict accurately the axial stiffness, carrying capacity and ductility of bolt simultaneously. Afterwards,an innovative bolt model was proposed and the model accorded with the refined FEA for single bolts. Finally, the proposed model was applied to analyze the moment-rotation behavior of several experimented and well documented connections with different configurations. The results indicate that the proposed model is feasible and efficient.

Hydrocephalus is a severe complication that can result from intracerebral hemorrhage, especially if this hemorrhage extends into the ventricles. Our previous study indicated that the NLRP3 inflammasome mediates cerebrospinal fluid hypersecretion in the choroid plexus epithelium. However, the pathogenesis of posthemorrhagic hydrocephalus remains unclear, and therapeutic strategies for prevention and treatment are lacking. In this study, an Nlrp3−/− rat model of intracerebral hemorrhage with ventricular extension and primary choroid plexus epithelial cell culture were used to investigate the potential effects of NLRP3-dependent lipid droplet formation and its role in the pathogenesis of posthemorrhagic hydrocephalus. The data indicated that NLRP3-mediated dysfunction of the blood–cerebrospinal fluid barrier (B-CSFB) accelerated neurological deficits and hydrocephalus, at least in part, through the formation of lipid droplets in the choroid plexus; these lipid droplets interacted with mitochondria and increased the release of mitochondrial reactive oxygen species that destroyed tight junctions in the choroid plexus after intracerebral hemorrhage with ventricular extension. This study broadens the current understanding of the relationship among NLRP3, lipid droplets and the B-CSFB and provides a new therapeutic target for the treatment of posthemorrhagic hydrocephalus. Strategies to protect the B-CSFB may be effective therapeutic approaches for posthemorrhagic hydrocephalus.
소비가치에 기반한 공유경제 서비스의 이용의도에 관한 연구

최근 급속한 정보통신기술 발전에 의한 인터넷과 스마트 기기에 의해 소비자들의 생활방식이 바꾸고 있으며, 특히 스마트폰 모바일 서비스가 보편화 되어 소비자들 간의 전자정보 탐색과 전달은 속도가 빨라지고 있다. 본 연구의 주요목적은 인터넷 비즈니스에 기반한 공유경제 서비스의 이용의도를 유발하는 요인들을 탐색적으로 규명하는데 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 연구 필요성에 착안하여 신뢰의 결정요인으로 사회적 소비가치 요인과 윤리적 소비가치요인 두 요인을 중심으로 접근하였다. 2019년 09월 조사를 실시한 결과 총 246개의 유효표본이 채택되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 사회적 소비가치 요인 및 윤리적 소비가치 요인은 공유경제 서비스에 대한 신뢰 요인에 모두 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 신뢰 요인은 공유경제 서비스에 대한 이용의도에 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 마지막으로 소비자의 지각된 위험에 따라 예측변수들이 이용의도에 미치는 영향이 달라지는 지를 검증한 결과, 지각된 위험은 신뢰와 이용의도간의 관계에서 유의한 조절효과를 보였다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 공유경제 서비스를 연구하고 활용하는데 유용한 자료를 제공할 것으로 기대한다. Recently, consumers lifestyle are undergoing rapid changes due to the advances in information and communications technologies, in particular, the searching and proloferation of electronic information among consumers are accelerating as smartphone mobile services are used widely. The major objective of the present study is to find out about the factors affecting customers’ intention to use sharing economy services. In view of such research objective, we adopted social consumption value and ethical consumption value as determinants of consumers’ trust towards sharing economy services, which was conceived to influence inatention to use the services. The survey was conducted in September 2019 and data from 246 respondents were analyzed. The study result is as follows. First, social consumption value and ethical consumption value all had significant effects on trust with regard to sharing economy services. Second, trust value had a significant impact on intention with regards to sharing economy services. Finally, the study examined whether perceived risk moderates the relationship between the predictors and use intention. The result showed that the perceived risk moderates the relationship between trust and use intention. The results of this study are expected to provide useful information for future research on sharing economy services.
Hydroxide MgSn(OH)6: A Promising New Photocatalyst for Methyl Orange Degradation

Highly crystalline hydroxide MgSn(OH)6 (MHS) polyhedral particleswere synthesized by changing reaction time (10, 15 and 20 h) in ahydrothermal process. The structural and morphological poperties ofobtained samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD),scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and UV-vis diffuse reflectancespectroscopy (DRS). The photocatalytic activity of the MHS wasfurther evaluated by the degradation of methyl orange (MO) underultraviolet (UV) light illumination. Compared with commercial TiO2(Degussa P25), the MHS prepared for 15 h showed similar degradationefficiency of methyl orange (MO), mainly due to its higher specificsurface area (55 m2g−1) and better optical properties.

Purpose We studied the perceived value, risk and network effect on the intention of using the sharing service and verified how each variable affected the use of the shared service and the existence of variable differences. Design/Methodology/Approach To achieve the goal of this study, the structural model was presented based on precious research and the ‘perceived value’ (economic, empirical, reciprocal value), ‘perceived risk’, ‘perceived network effect’ were used as independent variables that affect the parameter, ‘trust’ and ‘perceived usefulness’, For the dependent variables, ‘use intention’ was put. The Structural Equation Model, as such, was constricted and criteria for suitability of the Structural Model were obtained by using this model, the relationship between independent and dependent variables was explored. Finding First, the perceived value had a significant effect on trust. Second, we confirmed that perceived risks of sharing economic services had a negative effect on trust and not on perceived usefulness. Third, the perceived usefulness and trust in sharing economic services had a significant impact on the intent of use. Fourth, this study showed that perceived risk of car-sharing services was the factor that gave direct negative effect on trust in service. Fifth, the effects of trust in vehicle-sharing services and perceived usability of the intended use were empirically verified. Research Implications Although research on vehicle sharing services and related companies is still lacking, the research on vehicle sharing services is expected to continue to grow and develop in the future, so follow-up study in various fields is needed.
Flexural behavior of steel storage rack base-plate upright connections with concentric anchor bolts

Steel storage racks are slender structures whose overall behavior and the capacity depend largely on the flexural behavior of the base-plate to upright connections and on the behavior of beam-to-column connections. The base-plate upright connection assembly details, anchor bolt position in particular, associated with the high-rise steel storage racks differ from those of normal height steel storage racks. Since flexural behavior of high-rise rack base connection is hitherto unavailable, this investigation experimentally establishes the flexural behavior of base-plate upright connections of high-rise steel storage racks. This investigation used an enhanced test setup and considered nine groups of three identical tests to investigate the influence of factors such as axial load, base plate thickness, anchor bolt size, bracket length, and upright thickness. The test observations show that the base-plate assembly may significantly influence the overall behavior of such connections. A rigid plate analytical model and an elastic plate analytical model for the overall rotations stiffness of base-plate upright connections with concentric anchor bolts were constructed, and were found to give better predictions of the initial stiffness of such connections. Analytical model based parametric studies highlight and quantify the interplay of components and provide a means for efficient maximization of overall rotational stiffness of concentrically anchor bolted high-rise rack base-plate upright connections.
돌발홍수 발생 시 최단 거리 알고리즘 기반 경로 검출시스템

최근 발생하는 자연 재난 중 홍수피해는 여름철에 집중되면서 태풍 장마로 인해 인명 피해나 재산피해로 이어진다. 이러한 피해를 줄이기 위해 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 돌발홍수 발생 시 최단 거리 알고리즘을 사용하여 경로를 검출하고 사용자에게 제공하는 시스템을 설계하고 구현한다. 제안하는 시스템은 QGIS를 사용하여 트랙과 포인터를 생성한 지형 데이터를 활용하여 경로를 검출한다. 또한 시나리오를 통하여 검출된 경로로 대피하는 과정에서 돌발홍수가 발생 시 다른 최단 경로를 검출하여 사용자에게 제공한다. 따라서 사용자는 제안하는 시스템을 통하여 향후 발생하는 재난 안전 사고 위험에 안전한 대피를 할 수 있을 것으로 사료한다. Among the recent natural disasters, flood damage is concentrated in the summer, leading to casualties or property damage due to the typhoon’s rainy season. Much research is being done to reduce this damage. In this paper, we design and implement a system that detects paths and provides them to users using shortest-distance algorithms in the event of such sudden flooding. The proposed system uses QGIS to detect paths using topographical data that generated tracks and pointers. In addition, other shortest paths are detected and provided to users when sudden flooding occurs during evacuation to routes detected through scenarios. Therefore, it is assumed that the proposed system will allow users to safely evacuate from the risk of future disaster safety accidents.
