        The recent residential culture has been centered on the development of condominiums, which are common housing in the form of collective living. As the number of high-rise public housing is increasing, the balcony, which is the only buffer from the outside space, is gradually becoming a service area to expand the limited space. The balcony of a condominium is the only private external space that can be bordered separated by the outside of a high-rise condominium, it has become an important part of a residential building that links indoor and outdoor spaces and improves living conditions. Therefore, balconies are important in improving the comfort of living environment as well as satisfying spiritual and psychological needs. China and Korea have shared a history of frequent cultural exchanges since ancient times, but each country’s living culture has its own characteristics, so it can be considered that this will have a clear impact on the planning and utilization of balcony space.

        Although Korea and China belong to the same Asian cultural sphere, they have formed their living cultures based on their different political, economic, human, and social characteristics. Although the cultures are similar, the spatial and physical characteristics embodied in the living spaces of the two countries are different according to the differences in the main living cultures. Most of the apartment-related studies in Korea and China are currently focused on the studies related to the spatial characteristics and plan composition of apartments. The balcony space in Korea and China is under-researched. In this regard, the purpose of this study is to analyze the differences in the development of balcony space in Korea and China through a literature survey of the spatial and physical characteristics of balcony space in Korea and China in the light of the changing environment of the times.

        As society changes, the shared office, one of the representative businesses of the sharing economy, is broadening its field and will need to be researched in a variety of directions in the future. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to observe the tendency of the topic terms in the shared office research conducted up to now, and to understand the research trend of the shared office up to now and the direction of the future research needed. After collecting the data from the Korean thesis database for this study, the content of the data was analyzed. The analysis shows that as the shared office has developed, the topics have diversified, but the research so far has focused mainly on the conceptual and physical parts, with insufficient research on the psychological factors of users, and more research should be conducted at the user level in the future.

        Measurement of the feedback coefficient by monitoring the power difference at power jump point in self-mixing vibration signal

        This paper proposed a new method for measuring the feedback coefficient in the self-mixing interference. In experiment, the value of feedback coefficient is obtained by measuring the power difference at power jump point that based on the self-mixing vibration sensing system. It realized the measurement of feedback coefficient in range of 1–7.8 and shows a good agreement with the theoretical derivation and the corresponding simulation. Meanwhile, there is a good fitting result with the determination coefficient of 0.98 and line-width broadening factor of 3.245 respectively, which also realized measurement of feedback coefficient and line-width broadening factor at the same time.

        Breakup dynamics and scaling laws of liquid metal droplets formed in a cross junction

        The formation of liquid metal droplets in a microfluidic cross junction with different viscosities of thecontinuous phase is experimentally and theoretically investigated. The flow pattern is distinguished intosqueezing and dripping by the presence of gaps. The differences in driving forces between the two patternsare analyzed theoretically and confirmed experimentally by Micro-PIV results. Roles of the squeezingforce and the shear force in droplet formation are varying due to the dynamic evolutions of the gapwidth which reduces with time. Therefore, critical values of the initial gap width are obtained which arethe outcome of the competition between neck thinning and tip growing. Compared to water–oil systems,gaps are more difficult to be formed due to the extremely high interfacial tension. Moreover, universalflow pattern maps are constructed using dimensionless parameters of Wed, Cac, and Rec, proving theimportant roles of both the squeezing force and the shear force. A scaling law of the droplet volume consideringthe influence of the viscosity ratio is proposed and a very good agreement between experimentaldata and theoretical predictions is obtained for different liquid systems.

        A polymeric composite protective layer for stable Li metal anodes

        Lithium (Li) metal is a promising anode for high-performance secondary lithium batteries with high energy density due to its highest theoretical specific capacity and lowest electrochemical potential among anode materials. However, the dendritic growth and detrimental reactions with electrolyte during Li plating raise safety concerns and lead to premature failure. Herein, we report that a homogeneous nanocomposite protective layer, prepared by uniformly dispersing ­AlPO 4 nanoparticles into the vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene matrix, can effectively prevent dendrite growth and lead to superior cycling performance due to synergistic influence of homogeneous Li plating and electronic insulation of polymeric layer. The results reveal that the protected Li anode is able to sustain repeated Li plating/stripping for > 750 cycles under a high current density of 3 mA cm −2 and a renders a practical specific capacity of 2 mAh cm −2 . Moreover, full-cell Li-ion battery is constructed by using ­LiFePO 4 and protected Li as a cathode and anode, respectively, rendering a stable capacity after 400 charge/discharge cycles. The current work presents a promising approach to stabilize Li metal anodes for next-generation Li secondary batteries.

        Clinical Evidence of Chemotherapy or Endocrine Therapy Maintenance in Patients with Metastatic Breast Cancer: Meta-analysis from Randomized Clinical Trials and Propensity Score Matching of Multicentre Cohort Study

        Purpose This study aims to comprehensively evaluate the clinical efficacy of chemotherapy or endocrine therapy maintenance in metastatic breast cancer (MBC) patients. Materials and Methods The meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials (RCTs) and propensity score matching of multicenter cohort study evaluated MBC patients who underwent first-line chemotherapy or endocrine therapy maintenance. This study is registered with PROSPERO: CRD42017071858 and ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT04258163. Results A total of 2,867 patients from 15 RCTs and 760 patients from multicenter cohort were included. The results from meta-analysis showed that chemotherapy maintenance improved progression-free survival (PFS) (hazard ratio [HR], 0.63; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.54 to 0.73; p < 0.001; moderate-quality evidence) and overall survival (OS) (HR, 0.87; 95% CI, 0.78 to 0.97; p=0.016; high-quality evidence) than observation. In the cohort study, for hormone receptor–positive MBC patients, chemotherapy maintenance improved PFS (HR, 0.67; 95% CI, 0.52 to 0.85; p < 0.001) and OS (HR, 0.55; 95% CI, 0.42 to 0.73; p < 0.001) compared with observation, and endocrine therapy maintenance also improved PFS (HR, 0.65; 95% CI, 0.53 to 0.80; p < 0.001) and OS (HR, 0.55; 95% CI, 0.44 to 0.69; p < 0.001). There were no differences between chemotherapy and endocrine therapy maintenance in PFS and OS (all p > 0.05). Regardless of the continuum or switch maintenance therapy, showed prolonged survival in MBC patients who were response to first-line treatment. Conclusion This study provided evidences for survival benefits of chemotherapy and endocrine therapy maintenance in MBC patients, and there was no difference efficacy between chemotherapy and endocrine therapy maintenance for hormone receptor–positive patients.

        Influence of Degree of Hydrolysis on Functional Properties, Antioxidant and ACE Inhibitory Activities of Egg White Protein Hydrolysate

        Functional properties, antioxidant, and angiotensin-I converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory activities of egg white protein hydrolysate (EWPH) prepared with trypsin at different degree of hydrolysis (DH) were investigated. The DPPH radical scavenging activity, reducing power, lipid peroxidation inhibitory activity, and ACE inhibitory activity increased with DH at first and then decreased gradually. Hydrolysates with 12.4% DH had the highest antioxidant and ACE inhibitory activities. As DH increased, the solubility of EWPH increased while the emulsifying and foaming properties decreased. The functional properties of EWPH were also controlled by pH. Ultrafiltration of the hydrolysate with 12.4% DH revealed that the fractions of molecular weight lower than 3 kDa exhibited the highest antioxidant and ACE inhibitory activities. The results indicated that EWPH with different DH have different bioactive and functional properties and EWPH by controlled hydrolysis may be useful ingredients in food and nutraceutical applications with potential bioactive properties.
