OGLE-2013-BLG-0132Lb and OGLE-2013-BLG-1721Lb: Two Saturn-mass Planets Discovered around M-dwarfs

<P>We present the discovery of two planetary systems consisting of a Saturn-mass planet orbiting an M-dwarf, which were detected in faint microlensing events OGLE-2013-BLG-0132 and OGLE-2013-BLG-1721. The planetary anomalies were covered with high cadence by Optical Gravitational Lensing Experiment (OGLE) and Microlensing Observations in Astrophysics (MOA) photometric surveys. The light curve modeling indicates that the planet-to-host mass ratios are (5.15 +/- 0.28) x 10(-4) and (13.18 +/- 0.72) x 10(-4), respectively. Both events were too short and too faint to measure a reliable parallax signal and hence the lens mass. We therefore used a Bayesian analysis to estimate the masses of both planets: 0.29(-0.13) (+0.16) M-Jup (OGLE-2013-BLG-0132Lb) and 0.64(-0.31)(+0.35) M-Jup (OGLE-2013-BLG-1721Lb). Thanks to a high relative proper motion, OGLE-2013-BLG-0132 is a promising candidate for the high-resolution imaging follow-up. Both planets belong to an increasing sample of sub-Jupiter-mass planets orbiting M-dwarfs beyond the snow line.</P>

In this study, an in-house 152Eu calibration source was produced from a custom epoxy matrix with adensity of r ¼ 1.14 g cm 3, which is chemically stable and durable form after its solidification. The homogeneityof 152Eu in matrix was obtained better than 98%. For a Marinelli beaker geometry, an efficiencycalibration procedure was applied to a n-type, coaxial, 78.5% relative efficient HPGe detector in theenergy range of 121.7e1408.0 keV by using in-house 152Eu calibration source. Then the measured efficienciesfor Marinelli geometry were compared with the results calculated by MEFFTRAN and ANGLEsoftwares for the validation. Although MEFFTRAN and ANGLE have two different efficiency transfer algorithmsto calculate the efficiencies, they usually need to use a reliable and accurate reference efficiencyvalues as input data. Hence, reference efficiency values were obtained experimentally from a multinuclide standard sourcefor the same detector- Marinelli geometry. In the present source characterization, the correctionsrequired for self-absorption and true coincidence summing effects for 152Eu gamma-rays were alsoobtained for a such close counting geometry condition. The experimental results confirmed the validityof efficiency calculations obtained by MEFFTRAN and ANGLE softwares that are calculation tools.

Objective We compared retrospectively the seizure variables of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) patients after administration of rocuronium-sugammadex or succinylcholine as a muscle relaxant with propofol anesthesia.Methods The sample comprised 134 ECT patients. The mean age was 33.6±10.48 years. Anesthesia induction was provided with propofol one mg kg-intravenously (IV) followed by succinylcholine 0.5 mg kg<sup>-1</sup> IV (n=68) (Group S) or rocuronium 0.3 mg kg<sup>-1</sup> IV (n=66) (Group R). For patients who were given rocuronium, reversal of the residual neuromuscular block was accomplished with sugammadex (1.5 mg kg<sup>-1</sup> IV). First session seizure variables were compared between the two groups. We also presented the clinical outcome with Clinical Global Impression-Improvement (CGI-I) and overall adverse effects.Results EEG seizure durations in Group R (55.09±36.11 s) and Group S (47.00±26.33 s) were comparable and were not significantly different (p=0.432). The clinical efficacy of ECT measured by CGI-I in both groups was comparable (p=0.075). There were no major complications or death during or after ECT.Conclusion The results of this study show that the use of rocuronium-sugammadex as a neuromuscular blocker instead of succinylcholine during ECT with propofol anesthesia produces similar results in terms of seizure variables and clinical outcomes.
