A Visual Alarm System of Surrounding Beep Sounds
Yuzuru Nakashima,Mitsunori Makino 대한전자공학회 2009 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2009 No.7
This paper proposes a visualization of surrounding beep sounds which warns a user visually. For people with hearing loss and people under heavy sound, it is impossible or hard to detect important beep sounds which warn their danger. Representing such acoustic warnings as visual icons, the proposed method enables them to detect clearly their surrounding situation. The proposed method is assumed to be visual representation system on adequate mobile/wareble devices which can detect sounds. Simulation result on usual PC shows good performance to achieve the purpose.
An Evaluation Method for Tornado Missile Strike Probability with Stochastic Correlation
Yuzuru Eguchi,Takahiro Murakami,Hiromaru Hirakuchi,Soichiro Sugimoto,Yasuo Hattori 한국원자력학회 2017 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.49 No.2
An efficient evaluation method for the probability of a tornado missile strike without usingthe Monte Carlo method is proposed in this paper. A major part of the proposed probabilityevaluation is based on numerical results computed using an in-house code, Tornado-bornemissile analysis code, which enables us to evaluate the liftoff and flight behaviors of unconstrainedobjects on the ground driven by a tornado. Using the Tornado-borne missileanalysis code, we can obtain a stochastic correlation between local wind speed and flightdistance of each object, and this stochastic correlation is used to evaluate the conditionalstrike probability, QV(r), of a missile located at position r, where the local wind speed is V. Incontrast, the annual exceedance probability of local wind speed, which can be computedusing a tornado hazard analysis code, is used to derive the probability density function,p(V). Then, we finally obtain the annual probability of tornado missile strike on a structurewith the convolutional integration of product of QV(r) and p(V) over V. The evaluationmethod is applied to a simple problem to qualitatively confirm the validity, and to quantitativelyverify the results for two extreme cases in which an object is located just in thevicinity of or far away from the structure.
Identification of Multi-Input Multi-Output Wiener-type Nonlinear Systems
Yuzuru Shiotani,Yasuhide Kobayashi 제어로봇시스템학회 2009 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2009 No.8
A Wiener model consists of alinear dynamic system in followed by a static nonlinearity. The Wiener model are widely used to represent nonlinear systems, and the multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) Wiener model appears frequently in many nonlinear systems. Therefore, it is proposed that the identification method of the MIMO Wiener model with two or more linear dynamic subsystems, whose outputs are transformed by multiple-input static nonlinearities. The linear dynamic subsystems are represented by the MIMO state-space representation. The MIMO static nonlinearities are expressed by the artificial neural networks which have the ability to learn the complex nonlinear relationships.

Background/Aims Although risk factors of reflux esophagitis (RE) have been investigated in numerous cross-sectional studies, little is known about predictive factors associated with future onset of RE. We investigated time courses of clinical parameters before RE onset by a longitudinal case-control study using health checkup records. Methods We used health checkup records between April 2004 and March 2014 at 9 institutions in Japan. A multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to evaluate associations of baseline clinical parameters with RE. The time courses of the clinical parameters of RE subjects were compared with those of non-RE subjects by the mixed-effects models for repeated measures analysis or longitudinal multivariate logistic analysis. Results Initial data were obtained from 230 056 individuals, and 2066 RE subjects and 4132 non-RE subjects were finally included in the analysis. Body mass index, alanine aminotransferase, smoking, acid reflux symptoms, hiatal hernia, and absence of atrophic gastritis at baseline were independently associated with RE. The time courses of body mass index, fasting blood sugar, triglyceride, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, γ-glutamyl transpeptidase, percentages of acid reflux symptoms, feeling of fullness, and hiatal hernia in the RE group were significantly worse than in the non-RE group. Conclusions The RE group displayed a greater worsening of the clinical parameters associated with lifestyle diseases, including obesity, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, and fatty liver for 5 years before RE onset compared with the non-RE group. These results suggest that RE is a lifestyle disease and thus lifestyle guidance to at-risk person may help to prevent RE onset. (J Neurogastroenterol Motil 2022;28:86-94)

The national project, initiated by the Comprehensive Scientific Technology Conference in the Cabinet Office, entitled “Development of New Structural systems Using Innovative Structural Materials” has two objectives: The first objective is to develop and produce new innovative steel materials. The second is to develop a new structural system using the new steel. This paper describes the production specification and the chemical composition. The required mechanical properties and test results conducted on the new steel that is produced are also presented.
