Vulvar Reconstruction Using Keystone Flaps Based on the Perforators of Three Arteries

Various flaps are used to reconstruct skin and soft tissue defects of the vulva following resection of malignancies. Whenever possible, reconstruction using local flaps is the standard treatment. Here, we describe vulvar defect reconstruction using keystone flaps. Standard keystone flaps are based on randomly located vascular perforators. However, we designed a keystone flap that includes perforators of three named arteries (the anterior labial artery of the external pudendal artery, cutaneous branches of the obturator artery, and posterior labial artery of the internal pudendal artery) and the pudendal nerve, which accompanies the internal pudendal artery. Four patients with squamous cell carcinoma and extramammary Paget’s disease of the vulva underwent radical vulvectomy and keystone flaps including perforators of three arteries. Depending on the morphology of the defects, keystone flaps were used with different designs. For elliptical and unilateral vulvar defects, a standard keystone flap was designed, and for defects on both sides of the vulva, a double opposing keystone flap was used. For oval defects, the omega variant keystone flap was designed, and when the morphology of the defect needed rotation of the flap, a rotational keystone flap was designed. All the patients showed good function and sensation, with an acceptable cosmetic appearance.
SOME IDENTITIES OF TYPE 2 DEGENERATE POLY-GENOCCHI NUMBERS AND POLYNOMIALS

The purpose of this paper is to introduce a new version of the degenerate poly-Genocchi polynomials and numbers called the type 2 degenerate poly-Genocchi polynomials and numbers by the modification of degenerate polyexponential function in the generating function. To investigate the properties of the proposed polynomials and numbers, we derive several explicit expressions and identities induced from new generating function. Also, we present some relations between the type 2 degenerate poly-Genocchi polynomials and numbers and some other well-known special polynomials and numbers. In addition, we consider the higher-order type 2 degenerate Genocchi polynomials and show some interesting identities involving those polynomials and the type 2 higherorder Changhee polynomials.
A 10-bit 25-MS/s 1.25-mW Pipelined ADC With a Semidigital Gm-Based Amplifier

<P>A semidigital Gm-based amplifier is proposed for a low-power pipelined analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The amplifier performs a class-AB operation by smoothly changing between a comparator-like semidigital driver and a continuous-time high-gain amplifier according to the input voltage difference. A 10-bit pipelined ADC with 2.5-bit/stage architecture is implemented in a 0.13- CMOS. The ADC consumes 1.25 mW at a sampling rate of 25 MS/s and achieves a Nyquist-rate figure-of-merit of 139 and 232 fJ/c-s without and with power consumption from a resistor ladder, respectively.</P>
Newly Designed HRTF Measuring System

Because people expect better sound reproduction that offers more realistic experience, 3D sound technologies are ceaselessly being improved. When we render 3D sound image using headphones or speakers, the main key of this technology is the Head-related transfer function (HRTF) database. Even though there are various HRTF databases they have some drawbacks such as detrimental effects caused by imperfect measuring environment and insufficient measurement points. In addition to those problems, there is no database aimed at Korean even if the HRTFs vary from person to person. Therefore we are planning to develop the HRTF database for Korean. As a first step to do it, the new HRTF measuring system without aforementioned drawbacks is designed. In this paper, the newly designed HRTF measuring system is introduced and the overall effects are analyzed caused by the diffraction of the apparatus, especially the headrest and backrest of the chair.
Experimental Study on Simplex Swirl Injector Dynamics with Varying Geometry

The effects of swirl chamber’s diameter and length on injector’s dynamic characteristics were investigated through an experimental study. A mechanical pulsator was installed in front of the manifold of a swirl injector which produces pressure oscillations in the feed line. Pressure in the manifold, liquid film thickness in the orifice and the pressure in the orifice were measured in order to understand the dynamic characteristic of the simplex swirl injector with varying geometry. A direct pressure measuring method (DPMM) was used to calculate the axial velocity of the propellant in the orifice and the mass flow rate through the orifice. These measured and calculated values were analyzed to observe the amplitude and phase differences between the input value in the manifold and the output values in the orifice. As a result, a phase-amplitude diagram was obtained which exhibits the injector’s response to certain pressure fluctuation inputs. The mass flow rate was calculated by the DPMM and measured directly through the actual injection. The effect of mean manifold pressure change was insignificant with the frequency range of manifold pressure oscillation used in this experiment. Mass flow rate was measured with the variation of injector’s geometries and amplitude of the mass flow rate was observed with geometry and pulsation frequency variation. It was confirmed that the swirl chamber diameter and length affect an injector’s dynamic characteristics. Furthermore, the direction of geometry change for achieving dynamic stability in the injector was suggested.
