nm23-H1 gene expression has been inversely correlated with tumor metastatic potential in certain tumors including melanomas, breast carcinomas, and hepatocellular carcinomas. However, its role with respect to the invasive behavior of central nervous system tumors has scarcely been addressed. Because cell motility and invasion plays an essential role in metastatic dissemination, we have studied whether motile human glioma cell(U87MG) transfected with nm23-H1 complementary DNA have any alterations in their ability to migrate and invade. There was no significant changes in the shape and size of the cells following nm23-H1 transfection. The role of nm23-H1 in glioma migration and invasion have been evaluated by in vitro simple scratch technique and brain slice invasion model. Basal migration ability of nm23-H1 transfectants cell(U87MG-pEGFP-nm23) were lesser than U87MG. Accordingly, U87MG-pEGFP-nm23 didn't migrate away apparently from the tumors implanted site comparing U87MG in brain slice invasion model. These results suggest that nm23-H1 may play an important role in suppressing the human glioma migration and invasion.

The ㎚23 gene is widely documented as a suppressor of the metastatic phenotype in many human cancers. However, its role with respect to the invasive behavior of primary central nervous system tumors has scarcely been addressed. The present study was aimed to examine the expression of the ㎚23-Hl gene product in 14 meningiomas in order to clarify the association of its expression with the histological types or migration rate, The ㎚23-Hl protein levels in human meningiomas were analyzed using Western blotting analyses. The ㎚23-Hl protein levels and cell migration rate was not correlated with different histologic types of meningiomas. However, the expression of ㎚23-Hl is inversely correlated with the migration rate in meningiomas. These results suggest that ㎚23-Hl may play an important role in the cell migration of meningiomas in female patients.

в данной статье предпринята попытка представить этическую перспективу в акте коммуникации. Исходным пунктом исследования служит этика как долженствование, развернутая в 'философии поступка' раннего М. Бахтина: подчеркивается ответственность и конкретность этического поступка человека, в чем и видится доказательство существования 'я' - единственного и неповторимого бытия. Однако, при всей справедливости этика как долженствование имеет недостаток, поскольку здесь упущено понятие 'другой' как также атктивный субъект в коммуникации. При рассмотрении коммуникацивной этики более гибкий подход предлагает т. н. 'философия другого': предметом рассмотрения становятся понятие 'лицо' И. Левинаса, этико-эстетическое исследование 'автора и героя', представленное Бахтиным, в частности мысль Достоевского о свободе и т. д. В тот момент, когда передо мной появляется 'другой' в виде искаженного страданием лица и приказывает мне исполнить свою свободу, то я ставлюсь подсудимым перед другим именно из-за моей свободы и таким образом требуется этический акт. Переходя от антитезы 'я и другой' к интерсубъективности, мы встречаемся с 'событием' бытия и жизни, одним из главнейших понятий в системе мышления Бахтина, также 'ребенком' Левинаса. Этика в коммуникацивном акте должна, хотя бы отчасти, освободить от подавленной нудительности, а отразить вечную событийность как сущность человека и жизни. И потому особый акцент делается на вечном возвращении: превозойти прошедшее, а стремиться к настоящему и будущему. Только с такой точки зрения можно надеяться на новую перспективу коммуникации с другими.

대기중의 오존이 느티나무에 미치는 영향

대기중의 오존이 느티나무(Zelkova serrata Nakai)에 미치는 영향을 open-top chamber를 이용하여 관찰하였다. 2개월동안 대기중의 오존에 노출시킨 식물의 광합성율과 엽록소함량은 activated charcoal로 filter한 chamber의 식물에 비해 각각 60%정도 낮았다. 증산율과 stomatal conductance 도 non-filtered chamber 내의 식물이 charcoal-filtered chamber내의 식물에 비해 40%정도 감소되었다. 그러나 오존에 의한 가시피해는 관찰되지 않았다. Effects of ambient ozone on Zelkova serrata were observed by using open-top chambers. Net photo synthesis rate and total chlorophyll content were about 60% decreased in non-filtered chamber plants compared with charcoal-filtered chamber plants were also 40% lower compared with charcoal -filtered chamber plants. However, no visible symptoms of ozone were observed.

韓國 自生 범부채(Belamcanda chinensis (L.) DC.)의 種子發芽에 關한 硏究

These studies were carried out to investigate the seed germination of Belamcanda chinensis (L.) DC. The results obtained are as follows : 1.Optimum temperature of seed germination was 25℃, and the seed germination rate was raised to 92% by 20/30℃ alternative temperature treatment. 2.Under the condition of moist low temperature storage, the germination rate was 53% at 42 days after sowing, but showed the germination rate of 11% at same period with dry low temperature storage. 3.The germination rate was higher in the light condition than in the dark condition. 4.The germination rate was higher when the seed coat was removed than when the seed coat was not removed or the seed coat was stratificated. 5.The germination rate was 80% with 100ppm GA3 treatment, and 76% wihh soaking treatment of 1% KOH solution for 24 hours.

환경회계정보 공시수준과 기업특성과의 관계에 관한 연구 : 우리나라 상장기업을 중심으로 한 실증연구

Recently, environmental aspect of coporates' activities becomes a very important social problem. And the needs of the environmental accounting informations are growing rapidly. It is the purpose of this paper to examine the factors which affect the disclosure level of coporates evironmental accounting information. Some researches were conducted on this topic and they had measured the amount of information disclosed by the physical measures such as the number of words, lines or pages. But we have measured it by the amount of messages(contents) in the disclosed information. By the results of the analysis, we have found some significant relationships between the level of disclosure of environmental accounting informations and characteristics of firms. There are statisticaly significant positive relationships between the each of following three variables-the environmental friendliness of a firm, the size of a firm and the ratio of minority shareholders - and the disclosure level of environmental accounting information. But we could not find any significant relationships by using the number of words. lines or pages as measures of disclosure level.

기성시가지 상업지의 도시·건축여건을 고려한 환경개선형 도시설계기법 도입방안에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study is to propose a new urban design approach to meet changes in social and urban circumstances; democratization, urban design in existing built-up areas and the need for citizen participation in the process of urban development. The paper's significance lies in that it shows a new direction in urban design which has been made into a statutory plan(district unit plan). The proposed urban design technique for the improvement of existing commercial areas, specially retail streets have three advantages; firstly, it makes possible to make improvement and give administrative and financial support which is sensitive to the existing conditions of urban area for the better environment, secondly, it can maintain and improve the vitality of the existing retail street by taking into account it's potentiality, and thirdly, it can maximize the effect of improvement of the existing commercial district by linking it with other public projects that may be in operation or in preparation by other departments or offices. Thus, this research suggests how district unit plan as a newly organized urban design system can cope with the changing urban and architectural built-in environment.

韓國産 裸予植物에 대한 系統分類學的인 硏究(槪要)

This is the introductory paper of Systematic Studies of the Korean Gynmosperms. To elucidate the relationships among them, three parts works were performed ; external morphology, wood anatomy, and pollen morphology. As the results, three parts works were well consisted with the seperation of the Genus Pinus into two Subenus, Haploxylon and Diploxylon. And wood anatomical features strongly indicated that the Genus Cephalotaxus which was treated as a seperate family by some authors (Engler, 1926 ; Nakai, 1952 ; Cronquist et al., 1966) was different from the Genus Taxus and Torreya.
