韓国で出版されたビジネス系日本語教材の記述から見る謝罪場面の教育およびその課題

本研究では、韓国の日本語教育においてどのように[謝罪行動]が扱われているかを韓国内で出版された教材を通じて調査した。 謝罪の研究は、これまで多くの行われているが、文化的な配慮行動の側面を研究する際に教育にも応用することを同時に考えなければならない。それは、文法規則だけでなく、「言語使用のルール」を教育に反映すること(田中2016)を意味する。 上記の立脚点から韓国で出版されたビジネス日本語系の教材29冊について、特に謝罪表現の有無と「言語使用のルール」の記載を調べた結果、主に次のような点が明らかになった。 (1) 謝罪表現と「言語使用のルール」が両方記載されている教材は、30%程度(9冊)であった。 (2) 中級学習者以上を対象とした教材および日本人著者による教材に謝罪表現の「言語使用のルール」が記載されている傾向が見られた。 (3) 「言語使用のルール」の説明がある場合、その内容は、1.理由を話す前に謝罪する。2.言い訳はしない。3.自分が担当者ではなくても同じ会社の一員として自分にも責任があると考えて謝罪する。この3点について記述している教材が、複数見られた。 さらに、上記の調査を土台として「言語使用のルール」を学習者に教授した結果、特に再謝罪に関しての効果が著しく現れた。 今後の課題としては、(3)について韓国語学習者を主な対象とする場合の教授の優先順位の検討、ビジネスシーンという特殊な状況における適切な「謝罪行為」についての記述についての検討、「ロールカード」に頼らないロールプレイの考案なとが挙げられる。 This study investigated and observed how “apology” is taught in Japanese language education in Korea. Apology study has been done by many researchers so far, but when considering various aspects of politeness in Japanese culture, it is necessary to consider its application to education. Moreover, it means reflection not only on the “rules of grammar” but also on the “rules of language use” in education (田中 2016). Based on the above points, this researcher investigated 29 business―Japanese textbooks that were published in Korea. The results of the survey show the following: (1) 30% of the surveyed textbooks have both an apologetic expression and “rules of language use”. (2) There was a tendency that textbooks for intermediate level and higher level had less “rules of language use” than lower level. (3) If there is a description of the “rules of language use”, the content is as follows: 1. Apologizing before telling the reason. 2. No excuses. 3. Apologize, even if you are not the person in charge, assuming that you are also responsible as a boss or an employee of the same company. Furthermore, as a result of teaching learners “rules of language use” based on the above survey, the effect on re-apology was particularly remarkable. Future issues are as follows: Consideration of the priority of education for Korean learners. Consideration of a description of the appropriate “apology” in the special context of the business scene. Invention of role-playing that dose not rely on “role cards”.

A fatal case of acute pulmonary embolism caused by right ventricular masses of acute lymphoblastic lymphoma-leukemia in a 13 year old girl

We report a case of a 13-year-old girl with acute lymphoblastic lymphoma-leukemia, who presented with a cardiac metastasis in the right ventricle, resulting in a pulmonary embolism. At the time of her leukemia diagnosis, a cardiac mass was incidentally found. The differential diagnosis for this unusual cardiac mass included cardiac tumor,metastasis, vegetation, and thrombus. Empirical treatment was initiated,including anticoagulation and antibiotics. She underwent plasmapheresis and was administered oral prednisolone for her leukemia. Five days later, she experienced sudden hemodynamic collapse and required extracorporeal membrane oxygenation insertion and emergency surgery. These interventions proved futile, and the patient died. Pathology revealed that the cardiac mass comprised an aggregation of small, round, necrotic cells consistent with leukemia. This is the first known case of acute lymphoblastic leukemia presenting as a right ventricular mass, with consequent fatal acute pulmonary embolism. Acardiac mass in a child with acute leukemia merits investigation to rule out every possible etiology, including vegetation, thrombus, and even a mass of leukemic cells, which could result in the fatal complication of pulmonary embolism.

The Elephant in the Room: How Group Network Characteristics and Status Conflict Affect Group Voice Behavior

Although group network characteristics significantly influence a group’s capability to exchange and absorb knowledge by speaking up members’ opinions, previous research on voice behavior has not yet fully addressed the social and relational factors in work groups that affect group-level voice. This study examines the effects of group cohesion (i.e., network density) on group voice behavior, and further investigates when and how the effects would occur. Using data from 55 work groups, we found an inverted U-shaped relationship between group density and group voice behavior. In addition, this effects varied along with how status conflicts are perceived in groups. Specifically, status conflict moderated the inverted-U effect of group density on group voice, such that: when status conflict is high, 1) overall level of group voice was reduced, 2) group voice turned to decrease faster on the downward side of the inverted-U curve. We discussed the theoretical and practical implications of this results with relation to effective group management.

The Effects of Prior Category Spanning and Social Networks within Serial Entrepreneurial Teams in Crowdfunding

With a rapid growth of interest in serial entrepreneurship in crowdfunding, much attention has been given to the prior success records. However, little is known about the role of social connections established during the previous venturing experiences for the future entrepreneurial success. Employing a uniquely team-focused approach, this study attempts to develop prior serial entrepreneurship literature which mainly focused on a single entrepreneurial individual. From the team-based perspective, this article tries to disentangle serial entrepreneurial team members’ prior experience into two aspects - where it occurred (i.e., prior category spanning) and with whom it was (i.e., prior sharing experience ties). Furthermore, we investigate under what conditions this prior experience was acquired. Hypotheses are tested using a longitudinal 2-wave data sample of 1,457 serial entrepreneurial teams for ten-year period in Kickstarter, the most prominent crowdfunding platform. Results showed that prior sharing experience ties positively predict entrepreneurial team success while prior category spanning does not have any significant effects. The effect of prior category spanning on serial venture success, rather, turns significantly positive in considering with the interaction effect of success experience. This indicates that whether the prior category spanning was successful or unsuccessful is highly valued in the prediction of serial venture performance. Based on these findings, we discuss the implications for subsequent venturing.

『벨레프로가문사』는 조이스 케롤 오츠의 대표적인 고딕소설로서 벨레프로 7대가문사를 다룬 대표작이다. 시대적, 세대적, 기교적 관점에서 미국의 대표적인 고딕소설로 평가되는 이 작품은 현대적 페미니즘적 고딕소설로 간주되는 만큼 여성적 주제성과 고딕 기법과 연관 지워 해독하는 것은 매우 의미 있는 연구방향에 해당한다.<br/> 벨레프로 이야기에는 작가의 시대적 인식이 바탕이 되어있다. 조이스 케롤 오츠의 소설적 공통점은 폭력이 빚어내는 정서적 심리적 마비 상태가 여성 등장인물에 미치는 삶과 부조리성을 고딕 기법으로 펼쳐내는 데 있다. 그녀가 지닌 사회적 인식이라면 초창기의 개척시대를 벗어나 물질화 상업화되면서 사회와 인간 심성에 깔린 폭력성은 더욱 노출된다는 것이다. 이것을 페미니즘 관점의 분석한 대표작이 상기 작품이라고 하겠다. 더욱이 『벨레프로가문사』는 고딕소설 정통적 기법에 해당하는 구세대의 번영과 몰락을 다룸으로써 미국의 묵시론적 미래를 제시한 점은 미국소설에 대한 작가의 공적이라고 볼 수 있다. 이러한 시대상과 여성관을 구현하기 위하여 교통 통신의 메커니즘을 배경적 측면에서 분석하고 농촌의 도시화를 통하여 가정과 가계의 붕괴상을 살핀 사회적 해석도 작품분석에서 빠뜨릴 수 없다. 따라서 빛과 어둠의 이미지, 의식적 무의식적 서술 기법, 과거와 현재의 시간 경계, 삶과 죽음, 빈부라는 이원적 구도는 조이스 케롤 오츠의 폭력적 주제를 강조하는 기법으로써 현대 고딕 소설의 기교적 전범으로 평가되고 있다.<br/> 『벨레프로가문사』는 흥미와 센티멘털리즘을 자극하는 통속성을 초월하여 미국사의 근저에 깔린 문제점을 제시한 점에서 현대고딕소설의 새로 읽기의 정전에 속하다고 볼 수 있다.

Multiple Intraabdominal Abscesses Caused by Mycoplasma hominis Infection Following Simultaneous Pancreas-Kidney Transplantation

Dear Editor, Mycoplasma hominis is a member of the common urogenital flora with the potential to cause genital and extragenital infections, the latter of which mainly occur in immunocompromised hosts [1]. M. hominis is frequently associated with post-transplant infection in extragenital cases. To expand our knowledge about post-transplant Mycoplasma infection of immunocompromised hosts, we report a case of M. hominis infection causing multiple abscesses around the pancreas graft after simultaneous pancreas-kidney transplantation in a patient with diabetes. Because this report is not a clinical trial/research, an approval from the Institutional Review Board was exempted.

The Socio-Cultural Suitability of Task-based Instruction in Japan : Through the Lens of Learners

This article reports the findings of an action research project, which investigated how university students would respond to Task-based Instruction (TBI), with the primary aim to examine its sociocultural appropriateness in the Japanese EFL context. The study employed a hybrid form of task-based and textbook-focused instruction in English classes at the tertiary level. A survey was administered to collect student feedback, which was examined qualitatively using thematic analysis. The analysis revealed that a majority of students positively viewed TBI in terms of main themes that emerged from the data: Social Skills Building; Personal Development; Future Usefulness, with English Learning as a common sub-theme. Pedagogical implications, as well as suggestions for further research, are discussed based on these findings.
