Ubiquitin specific peptidase 47 promotes proliferation of lung squamous cell carcinoma

Background: Ubiquitin specific peptidase 47 (USP47) is a kind of deubiquitinase, which has been reported to play oncogenic roles in several malignancies including colorectal cancer and breast cancer. Objective: Here we aimed to investigate the clinical significance of USP47 in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC). Methods: We retrospectively enrolled a cohort of LUSC patients who underwent surgical resection in our hospital (n = 280) and conducted immunohistochemistry staining for their tumor tissues targeting USP47. The correlations between USP47 expression and clinicopathological characteristics were evaluated by Chi-square test. Univariate and multivariate analyses were conducted to assess the prognostic predictive role of USP47 in LUSC. Cell lines and mice models were utilized to explore the tumor-related functions of USP47 in vitro and in vivo, respectively. Results: Among the 280 cases, there were 127 cases classified as high-USP47 expression and 153 cases with low-USP47 expression. Statistical analyses revealed that higher USP47 expression was independently correlated with larger tumor size, advanced T stage, and unfavorable prognosis. Knockdown of USP47 by shRNA resulted in impaired proliferation of LUSC cell lines and reduced nucleus beta-catenin level. Furthermore, xenograft assays demonstrated that silencing USP47 can inhibit LUSC tumor growth in vivo. Conclusion: Our research established a novel tumor-promoting effect and prognostic predictive role of USP47 in LUSC, thereby providing evidence for further therapeutic development.

Two new types of Banach-space-valued martingale spaces (p)_K^(S)_(r)(X) and (p)_K^(σ)_(r)(X) are introduced, by them, the Fefierman's duality theorem of H₁ㅡ BMO is extended to the Banach-space-valued martingale Hardy spaces (p)_H^(S)_(r)(X) and (p)_H^(σ)_(r)(X) which are associated with the pㅡvariation and conditional pㅡvariation, respectively. The results obtained here are connected closly with the pㅡuniform smoothness(1 < p ≤ 2) and qㅡuniform convexity(2 ≤ q < ∞) of Banach space.
Effects of dye etching on the morphology and performance of ZnO nanorod dye-sensitized solar cells

Dye-sensitized solar cells based on electrodeposited ZnO nanorod arrays were fabricated and tested. Fieldemission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) were used to identify the characters of ZnO nanorod arrays. The effects of dye etching on the morphology and performance of ZnO nanorod dye-sensitized solar cells were studied. It was found that the surfaces of ZnO nanorods were both etched by dye solutions, no matter N3 or N719. Compared with N3, N719 had a larger damage to the structure of ZnO nanorod photoanode, and the photoelectric conversion efficiency of cells decreased quickly with the sensitizing time increasing. In a certain range, the increasing length of ZnO nanorods can clearly improve the photoelectric conversion efficiency of cells.
Effects of Ginsenosides Rg1 on Osteoblasts Cultured with Ti Particles

The aim of this study was to explore the role and effect of ginsenosides Rg1 on osteoblasts cultured with Ti particles. Osteoblasts from neonatal rats were cultured with particles and different doses of Rg1, the main active ingredient in ginsenosides Rg1. We found that the COX-2, PGE2, TNF-α, IL-1, and IL -6 concentrations in the medium of cells cultured with Ti particles significantly increased as compared with that of the control cells (p<0.05 or p<0.01). In addition, cells cultured with Ti particles alone exhibited the highest concentrations of these molecules. The PGE2, TNF-α, IL-1, and IL-6 levels in the medium of cells cultured with Rg1 were in between those of the control cells and the cells cultured with Ti particles alone. The IL-1ra level in the group cultured with Ti and medium-dose Rg1 was the highest followed by the cells cultured with Ti and high-dose Rg1 and those cultured with Ti and low-dose Rg1 (p<0.05). In conclusion, ginsenosides can reduce the levels of inflammatory cytokines produced by osteoblasts on induction with Ti particles and can prevent prosthesis loosening.

I address this issue empirically adopting a difference-in-difference framework and find that China’s demand did deliver significantly higher growth rates to LAC exporters over the last decade and a half.
Design of a Three Dimensional Folded Monopole Antenna Using Current Flow

A new type of monopole antenna whit broadband characteristics is presented in this article. To reduce the size of the antenna, its upper part is folded. By separating the current flow, the resonance in the shorter part is in the higher band; and the longer part resonates in the lower band. This gives the broadband characteristics of the antenna. Slots on the corner using an oblique line improve the impedance matching and bandwidth. The measurement results show that the bandwidth operates from 0.848~0.992 ㎓ and 1.744~2.528 ㎓, and the radiation patterns are in an omni-directional shape.
Failure Mode of Orthotropic Two-way Composite Slab under Concentrated Load

Ordinary reinforced concrete two-way slabs generally suffer from punching failure under concentrated loads, which is a brittle failure and unfavorable to the structures. The composite slabs with steel sheets and PBL (perfobond rib) shear connectors have been applied for reducing the damage to bridge decks from vehicles. Although it is widely used on bridges, the failure mode of the orthotropic two-way composite slabs has rarely been studied when subject to concentrated loads. Accordingly, static loading tests with concentrated forward central load was carried out on 4 two-way composite slabs, in which the effects of the thickness of steel bottom sheets and concrete plates and spacing of PBL shear connectors on mechanical properties were investigated. The test results show that about 12% of the ultimate bearing capacity decreases when the perfobond ribs are spaced farther apart from 180 mm to 240 mm or the thickness of steel bottom sheets is reduced from 10 mm to 8 mm. And the bearing capacity drops by 38.2% when the thickness of concrete plates decreases by 30 mm. The steel-concrete composite slabs exhibit clear bidirectional force characteristics during the loading process, with the main forced direction being along the perfobond ribs, which is related to the stiffness ratio of the two directions. The two-way composite slabs have high bearing capacity and ductility, with obvious signs before failure. The specimens continue to bear the load after local punching failure of concrete near the loading point, which shows the features of both bending and punching failure. Based on the test results, a bending punching failure mode is proposed, which provides a new approach for the calculation of ultimate bearing capacity. An analytical calculation method for ultimate bearing capacity of orthotropic two-way composite slabs based on the failure mode above is derived with yield line theory and plastic theory, which is in excellent agreement with the tested results.
