The High-Precision Measuring Method for Motorcycle Trajectory Using GPS
Yuichiro Koyama,Yuichiro Koyamaand 제어로봇시스템학회 2009 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2009 No.8
The method for measuring a motorcycle trajectory using GPS is needed to make a simulation of motorcycle dynamics. In GPS measure ment of a motorcycle, both declination of the body and obstacles near the course exert a bad influence. Therefore, we propose a new algorithm for GPS measurement of a motorcycle trajectory. We interpolate the missing observation data with in a few seconds using curve of the second order, and use Kalman filter in positioning calculation. In the result, we succeeded in getting the trajectory with high accuracy, which is sufficiently continuous. The precision is equal to that of fixed point positioning given sufficient number of available satellites.

In recent years, the proportion of deaths from cancer tends to increase in Japan, especially the number of deaths from lung cancer is increasing. CT device is effective for early detection of lung cancer. However, there is concern that an increase in burden on doctors will be caused by high performance of CT improving. Therefore, by presenting the “second opinion” by the CAD system, it reduces the burden on the doctor. In this paper, we develop a CAD system for automatic detection of lesion candidate regions such as lung nodules or ground glass opacity (GGO) from 3D CT images. Our proposed method consists of three steps. In the first step, lesion candidate regions are extracted using temporal subtraction technique. In the second step, the image is reconstructed by sparse coding for the extracted region. In the final step, 3D Convolutional Neural Network (3D-CNN) identification using reconstructed images is performed. We applied our method to 51 cases and True Positive rate (TP) of 79.81 % and False Positive rate (FP) of 37.65 % are obtained.

After treatment of unilateral vertebral artery dissecting aneurysm (VADA), de novo VADA rarely occurs on the contralateral side. In this article, we report a case of subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) due to de novo VADA in the contralateral vertebral artery (VA) 3 years after parent artery occlusion of unilateral VADA, with a review of the literature. A 47-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital complaining of headache and impaired consciousness. Head computed tomography showed SAH, and three-dimensional computed tomography angiography showed a fusiform aneurysm in the left VA. We performed an emergency parent artery occlusion. Three years and 3 months after the initial treatment, the patient presented to our hospital with complaints of headache and neck pain. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed SAH, and magnetic resonance angiography revealed de novo VADA in the right VA. We performed a stent-assisted coil embolization. The patient had a good postoperative course and was discharged with a modified Rankin scale score of 0. Long-term follow-up is necessary in patients with VADA because contralateral de novo VADA can develop even several years after the initial treatment.
Development and Installation of Flap-gate Type Seawall Against Tsunami and Storm Surge

A flap-gate type movable seawall, which usually lies down on the ground, rises up automatically by buoyancy during inundation by tsunamis or storm surges, and then it forms a continuous seawall. This structure keeps lying in usual time to secure traffic and landscape. In emergence time, it protects a target area against inundation without power machineries and human operation. This structure is named as NEORISE which means No Energy and no Operation RIsing SEawall. The 2011 Tohoku Earthquake gave damages to power machineries and communication systems of tsunami-barrier gates and these tsunamis caused many casualties who tried to operate and close these gates. Structures for tsunami protection are required so as to avoid machinery failure and risk of operators. The NEORISE satisfies both of these requirements. In Japan 78 systems have been already constructed and this technology will contribute toward preventing and mitigating flood disaster.
