In amultihop wireless network, such as a wireless sensor network (WSN), with nodes being aware of their locations, the geographic routing scheme is an effective way of delivering packets to their destinations because of its 1-hop beacon broadcasting based routing related information exchange operation. The routing information obtained via 1-hop beaconing is local in the sense that it is just 1-hop compared to the multihop end-to-end routing. Hence, at some point, packets may experience no more place to be forwarded to (i.e., dead-ends). In this paper, we propose a geographical routing mechanism adopting the concept of the azimuth to reduce the possibility of packets confronting dead-ends. In other words, the node with a packet to be forwarded to the final destination figures out the next-hop node by utilizing the azimuth of the destination as a routing metric. Besides, we propose additional routing metrics for stable next-hop node selection to provide reliable IP connectivity. In order to validate the performance of the proposed routing mechanism, we evaluate its performance through the NS-2 based simulations and show that our mechanism outperforms the other schemes in terms of the packet delivery success rate, the end-to-end delay, and the number of dead-end encounters.

Evaluation System for Selecting Residents of Supportive Housing in Seoul
Yuhyun SUNG(Yuhyun SUNG),YounJae LEE(YounJae LEE) 국제융합경영학회 2023 융합경영연구 Vol.11 No.2
Purpose: This study aims to improve the evaluation system for selecting supportive housing applicants, addressing inconsistency, lack of health and care evaluation, and the need for a quantitative evaluation tool. Proposed improvements include a consistent evaluation index and items for each resident type, selecting suitable residents for independent living and community integration. Research design, data and methodology: This study analyzed the supportive housing selection checklist provided by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the supportive housing ordinance, and the SH Corporation's operation guidelines. Results: Study finds current supportive housing tenant selection system lacks consistency and proposes improvements. The same terms should be used for the same evaluation items, health and care evaluation items should be added for all tenants, and a quantitative evaluation tool should be used. Consistent evaluation index and items should be created for each resident type in the same evaluation area. The aim is to select suitable tenants with potential for independent living and community integration. Conclusions: This study improves the evaluation system for selecting supportive housing applicants by addressing inconsistencies and adding essential evaluation items related to health and care. While the study is significant, future research should focus on developing quantitative evaluation tools for all detailed items.
Physical Properties of Silk Fibroin Films Treated with Various Plasticizers
Yuhyun Ma,Kyung Bin Song 한국식품영양과학회 2005 Preventive Nutrition and Food Science Vol.10 No.2
Silk fibroin (SF) films were prepared using various plasticizers and their physical properties were determined. Polyethylene glycol (PEG)-SF and polypropylene glycol (PPG)-SF films had tensile strengths (TS) of 23.71 MPa and 24.51 MPa, respectively, whereas the glycerol (G)-SF film had the lowest TS of 14.24 MPa. G-SF film had the highest % elongation, compared to PPG-SF and PEG-SF films. Water vapor permeability (WVP) of SF films varied with addition of plasticizers, and PEG-SF film had the lowest WVP. There was no significant difference in Hunter L value among treatments, but PEG-SF film had higher Hunter a and b values. These results suggest that SF film could be applied to food packaging and that the addition of plasticizers should improve the physical properties of SF film.

The genetic structure of marine animals that inhabit the seashore is affected by numerous factors. Of these, gene flow and natural selection during recruitment have strong influences on the genetic structure of seashore-dwelling species that have larval periods. Relative contributions of these two factors to the genetic structure of marine species would be determined mainly by the duration of larval stage. The relationship between larval period and genetic structure of population has been rarely studied in Korea. In this study, genetic variations of cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI) were analyzed in two dominant species on rocky shore habitats in the Korean peninsula: periwinkle Littorina brevicula and acorn barnacle Fistulobalanus albicostatus. Both species are not strongly structured and may have experienced recent population expansion. Unlike periwinkle, however, barnacle populations have considerable genetic variation, and show a bimodal pattern of mismatch distribution. These results suggest that barnacle populations are more affected by local adaptation rather than gene flow via larval migration. The bimodal patterns of barnacle populations observed in mismatch distribution plots imply that they may have experienced secondary contact. Further studies on seashore-dwelling species are expected to be useful in understanding the evolution of the coastal ecosystem around Korean waters.

This study aims to develop novel reading education which helps students construct the meaning of text autonomously, using their own resources of interpretation as context. Constructive novel reading is organized by three steps, which are ‘Recognizing the message of text by perceiving the language symbol’, ‘Forming Kommunikat’, and ‘Constructing meaning by communication’. In this reading process, the stage of forming Kommunikat becomes the key step as this stage gives meaning to the language symbol of text, which cannot involve meaning by itself. It is well known that readers’ construction of meaning cannot be explained without mentioning context. However, the word ‘Context’ has not been used precisely in literary education due to its widespread history on the meaning of concept. Therefore, this study has defined the concept of ‘Context’ in novel reading as ‘Reader’s knowledge and experiences on situational, socio-cultural factors surrounding literary communication, which was reorganized to answer reader’s questions related to novel text interpretation’. Furthermore, this study has reconstituted ‘Constructing Context on novel reading’ as followed steps : recognizing the message of text by focusing on text markers, forming Kommunikat by contextualization, and constructing meaning by reorganizing context. Based on this theoretical background, this study collected readers’ protocol writing on novel text reading and analyzed the process of reading. Firstly, when readers recognized message of the text, they focused on the problem-posing of the text and awoke context. Secondly, readers contextualized by judging which one of their background knowledge about literary communication is useful to interpret this text. It was related to knowledge about the writer himself’s individual life, socio-cultural background of the text, and inter-text reading experiences. Lastly, some readers reflected their process of meaning constructing and reconstructed the meaning. They modified the earlier interpretation or added some new aspect of intepretation. During this process of meaning constructing, readers revealed some weaknesses. Some readers failed to catch the main message of the text, and this misunderstanding of the message led them to raise construct which is not related to the text. Also some readers failed to organize their knowledge and experiences, and some had organized context but failed to connect it to the content of the text. Lastly, some readers were buried to the problem-posing of their own and failed to connect it to the meaning of the text. These weaknesses of readers revealed that it is important to let readers know that reading a novel is to participate the literary communication and their role is to construct meaning autonomously. In sum, this study proposes a method of teaching students to read novels based on the contextualization of literary communication by paying attention to the use of contextualization in constructing the meaning of the text. This study has identified the process of students’ constructing the meaning of text by ‘Contextualization’ which is an act of giving the deprived meaning to the linguistic meaning. The model of novel reading education focusing on contextualization under the literature communication is meaningful that it can raise students to independent readers.
