This paper discusses the parameter design method for an active neutral-point-clamped (ANPC) multilevel inverter. The power losses of the ANPC inverter are calculated by mathematical expressions and the mathematical results are confirmed well agreed with the experimental results. Furthermore, this paper also discusses on the optimization of the switching frequency, in order to improve the efficiency and to downsizing the capacitor volume.

We found that our initial model agrees with most of the recent reports; however, it does not agree with some of them with respect to the kinetics of nucleus formation. This disagreement stems from the question of whether or not a nucleus precursor should be treated as an embryonic cluster.

(Fe0.7Co0.3)100−xBx alloy thin films are prepared on MgO single-crystal substrates with (100),(110), and (111) orientations at 200C by ultra-high vacuum radio-frequency magnetron sputteringwith various B compositions, x, from 0 to 15 at.%. The effects of composition and substrate orientationon the structure and the magnetic properties are studied. Fe-Co epitaxial films with bccstructures are obtained on all substrates. Fe-Co(100) single-crystal films are formed on MgO(100)substrates. Fe-Co films epitaxially grown on MgO(110) substrates consist of two (211) variantswhose orientations are rotated around the film’s normal by 180 each other. Fe-Co(110) filmsgrow epitaxially on MgO(111) substrates with two types of variants, Nishiyama-Wasserman andKurdjumov-Sachs relationships. As the B composition increases up to around 5 at.%, the filminvolves an amorphous structure in addition to an epitaxial bcc crystal structure. With furtherincreases in the B content, the film is only amorphous. The magnetization properties of the filmsinvolving epitaxial crystals reflect the magnetocrystalline anisotropy of the bulk Fe-Co crystal. The easy magnetization direction varies depending on the crystallographic orientation of the film. Isotropic in-plane magnetic properties are observed for amorphous films.

Background/Aims: Asymptomatic esophageal eosinophilia (aEE) is considered to be a potential precursor of eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). However, there are few clinical parameters that can be used to evaluate the disease. Therefore, we aimed to clarify the factors involved in the symptoms of EoE by examining the clinicopathological differences between aEE and EoE. Methods: We reviewed 41 patients with esophageal eosinophilia who underwent endoscopic ultrasonography and high-resolution manometry. They were divided into the aEE group (n=16) and the EoE group (n=25) using the Frequency Scale for the Symptoms of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease score. The patients’ clinicopathological findings were collected and examined. Results: The median Frequency Scale for the Symptoms of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease score was 3.0 in the aEE group and 10.0 in the EoE group. There was no significant difference in patient characteristics, endoscopic findings and pathological findings. The cutoff value for wall thickening was 3.13 mm for the total esophageal wall thickness and 2.30 mm for the thickness from the surface to the muscular layer (total esophageal wall thickness: 84.0% sensitivity, 75.0% specificity; thickness from the surface to the muscular layer: 84.0% sensitivity, 68.7% specificity). The high-resolution manometry study was abnormal in seven patients (43.8%) in the aEE group and in 12 (48.0%) in the EoE group. The contractile front velocity was slower in the EoE group (p=0.026). Conclusions: The esophageal wall thickening in the lower portion of the esophagus is an important clinical factors related to the symptoms in patients with EoE.
MAX-DOAS를 이용한 수도권 풍하지역인 용인의 대류권 미량기체 수직컬럼밀도 조사

지난해 성공적으로 발사된 GEMS (Geostationary Environment Monitoring Spectrometer) 위성 산출물 중 기체상 물질에 대한 검증 및 JAMSTEC의 MADRAS (MAX-DOAS network observations of NO₂ in Russia and Asia) 네트워크 확장의 일환으로 경기도 용인시 한국외국어대학교 글로벌캠퍼스(127.27°N, 37.34°E, 167 m, 방위각 250°)에 MAX-DOAS(Multi-Axis Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy)를 설치하여 2021년 9월부터 시험운영을 시작하였다. 현재 GEMS 위성 관측 영역에 포함되어 있는 MADRAS 측정소는 일본의 요코스카(139.65°E, 35.32°N), 후쿠에(128.68°E, 32.75°N), 헤도 곶(128.25°E, 26.87°N), 한국의 광주광역시(126.84°E, 35.23°N) 그리고 이번에 용인이 추가되었다. 설치된 MAX-DOAS는 6개의 고도 각(3°, 5°, 10°, 20°, 30° 그리고 90°)을 변화시키며 태양 산란광(자외선부터 가시 파장 영역)을 측정하여 지표 부근뿐 아니라 대류권 5 km 이내에 존재하는 미량 기체(이산화질소, 포름알데하이드 등) 및 에어로졸에 대한 고도별 정보가 복원 가능하다. 이와 같은 네트워크 자료를 활용하여 향후 GMAP (GEMS Map of Air Pollution) 캠페인 및 추후 발사될 GOSAT-GW (Global Observing SATellite for Greenhouse gases and Water cycle) 위성 검증의 중요한 지표검증 자료로 활용될 것으로 기대한다.
