Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) have great potential for assisting heavy metal hyperaccumulators in the remediation of contaminated soils. However, little information is available about the symbiosis of AMF associated with an antimony (Sb) accumulator plant under natural conditions. Therefore, the objective of this study was to investigate the colonization and molecular diversity of AMF associated with the Sb accumulator ramie (Boehmeria nivea) growing in Sb-contaminated soils. Four Sb mine spoils and one adjacent reference area were selected from Xikuangshan in southern China. PCR-DGGE was used to analyze the AMF community composition in ramie roots. Morphological identification was also used to analyze the species in the rhizosphere soil of ramie. Results obtained showed that mycorrhizal symbiosis was established successfully even in the most heavily polluted sites. From the unpolluted site Ref to the highest polluted site T4, the spore numbers and AMF diversity increased at first and then decreased. Colonization increased consistently with the increasing Sb concentrations in the soil. A total of 14 species were identified by morphological analysis. From the total number of species, 4 (29%) belonged to Glomus, 2 (14%) belonged to Acaulospora, 2 (14%) belonged to Funneliformis, 1 (7%) belonged to Claroideoglomus, 1 (7%) belonged to Gigaspora, 1 (7%) belonged to Paraglomus, 1 (7%) belonging to Rhizophagus, 1 (7%) belonging to Sclervocystis, and 1 (7%) belonged to Scutellospora. Some AMF sequences were present even in the most polluted site. Morphological identification and phylogenetic analysis both revealed that most species were affiliated with Glomus, suggesting that Glomus was the dominant genus in this AMF community. This study demonstrated that ramie associated with AMF may have great potential for remediation of Sb-contaminated soils.
Effects of Micro Textured Sapphire Tool Regarding Cutting Forces in Turning Operations
Yuan Wei,Simon S. Park,김미루,이득우,Chaneel Park 한국정밀공학회 2017 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.4 No.2
In this study, the effects of microscale textures on a sapphire cutting tool were investigated. The texturing of microscale features on a solid surface allowed control of the tribological characteristics of the tool surface. Microscale geometrical characteristics on the rake face of the sapphire tools were obtained through micro-abrasive blasting. Tribological tests and cutting tests on an aluminum alloy workpiece were carried out, and the cutting forces were measured and analyzed. The effect of texture on adhesion of work material was investigated. Results showed that friction was minimized and cutting forces at the tool-chip interface of the textured tool were significantly reduced from those of a conventional tool. It was observed that the adhesion of work material was reduced by applying texture on the tool rake face.

To minimize leakage and maintain the efficiency of turbomachinery, brush seal can be installed with zero clearance or interference as the flexibility. This leads to contact between the rotor and bristle pack, and may cause self-excited vibration, even instability. In this study, to establishment a mathematical model of the rotor system, a seal force model with bristle interference is proposed and the nonlinear oilfilm force is applied in view of short bearing assumption. The influences of main factors containing rotor rotational speed, installing interval, disc mass, and disk eccentricity on the nonlinear characteristics of the rotor-bearing-brush seal system are conducted by adopting bifurcation diagram, spectrum cascade, axis orbit, and Poincaré map. The results indicate that the vibration amplitude of the system with bristle interference is a bit larger than that without interference. The system stability is enhanced with smaller disk mass at a higher rotational speed. The proposed model could provide valuable reference for the design of a rotor-bearing-seal system.
ATM Rate Based Traffic Control with Bode Principle
Yuanwei Jing,Hui Zeng,Qingshen Jing,Ping Yuan 대한전기학회 2008 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.6 No.2
Bode principle is applied to carry out traffic control for rate based ATM network, which guarantees the higher buffer utilization, buffer overflow-free, and well utilization of bandwidth. The principle confirms the relationship between the threshold of buffer queue and the network bandwidth, as well as the relationship between the threshold of buffer and source input rate. Theoretic warrant of the buffer threshold is proposed. The reference range of source input rate is provided in theory, which makes the source end respond to the change of network state rapidly and dynamically, and then the effect of time delay to the traffic control is avoided. Simulation results show that the better steady and dynamic performances of networks are obtained by Bode principle.
A Novel Control Method for Drum Level and Pressure Basing on Dynamic Surface
Yuanwei Jing,Hongxia Yu,Xiaoyu Sun 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Multimedia and Ubiquitous Vol.11 No.6
A novel drum level and pressure simultaneously control method is developed using the dynamic surface control method in this paper which takes account of the output power of units and load change .Certain first-order low-pass filters are introduced into the designing process to avoid the occurrence of high-order derivatives of elements in the system which makes it easy to implement in practical applications. The proposed control method is effective in compensating for the disturbance of load and fuel. Simulation results show that the dynamic surface control method still ensures an accurate result, even if the loads change in a great and parameters of the controlled plant change significantly.
H∞ Filtering for a Class of Singular Time-delay Systems
Juan Zhou,Yuanwei Lv,Bo Pang,Cuiping Xue 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2019 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.17 No.12
This paper describes the H∞ filtering problem for a class of nonlinear singular time-delay systems. A sufficient condition for the existence of H∞ filter is given. Based on the Cayley-Hamilton Theorem and Lyapunov stability theory, the H∞ filter is designed such that the filtering error is asymptotically stable and satisfies the prescribed H∞ performance. In terms of linear matrix inequality, a sufficient condition for the solvability of the addressed problem is obtained. Finally, some numerical examples are employed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approaches.

The fixed-time congestion control problem of TCP/AQM networks with UDP flows and un-modeled uncertainties has been studied thoroughly in this paper. The fluid-flow based TCP/AQM network system model is analyzed, and a fixed-time adaptive congestion control algorithm is proposed for the nonlinear network system model with unknown UDP flows and un-modeled uncertainty. The new control algorithm was derived using combined requirements for the fixed-time control and the prescribed performance control by employing the backstepping technique and the fuzzy approximation methodology. The universal approximation property of fuzzy-logic system models is used to deal with the external disturbance and the uncertainty that may appear in the network system. Using the prescribed performance technology, the transient and steady state performances of the tracking error are shown to have been enforced to meet the design requirements. Using the back-stepping methodology, a fixedtime AQM controller is designed so as to ensure that the fixed time of the closed-loop system response remains bounded. The obtained simulation results demonstrate the extent of effectiveness and superiority of the proposed design relative to known previous results.

Self-regulating temperature hyperthermia based on magnetic fluid with low Curie temperature is a moderately effective method for cancer treatment. The improvement of the properties of magnetic fluids is the key for application of this method. In this paper, Bi-doped LSMO magnetic nanoparticles were synthesized using a simple sol–gel method and coated by hyaluronic acid through high energy ball milling for their possible application in self-regulating temperature hyperthermia. The crystal structure, morphology, basic magnetic properties and heating properties of these nanoparticles in a high frequency magnetic field were investigated. It was found that the hyaluronic acid-coated La0.7Sr0.2Bi0.1MnO3 magnetic nanoparticles, with an average particle diameter of ~100 nm and a Curie temperature of 48 ℃, possess outstanding induction heating properties. The saturation heating temperature, specific absorption rate and effective specific absorption rate are 48 ℃, 117 W/g and 0.27 W/g · kHz · (kA/m2), respectively.
The molecular mechanism of azole resistance in Aspergillus fumigatus: from bedside to bench and back
Xiaolei Wei,Yuanwei Zhang,Ling Lu 한국미생물학회 2015 The journal of microbiology Vol.53 No.2
The growing use of immunosuppressive therapies has resulted in a dramatic increased incidence of invasive fungal infections (IFIs) caused by Aspergillus fumigatus, a common pathogen, and is also associated with a high mortality rate. Azoles are the primary guideline-recommended therapy agents for first-line treatment and prevention of IFIs. However, increased azole usage in medicinal and agricultural settings has caused azole-resistant isolates to repeatedly emerge in the environment, resulting in a significant threat to human health. In this review, we present and summarize current research on the resistance mechanisms of azoles in A. fumigatus as well as efficient susceptibility testing methods. Moreover, we analyze and discuss the putative clinical (bedside) indication of these findings from bench work.
