Simple and Direct Quantitative Analysis for Quinidine Drug in Fish Tissues
( Yuan-chin Chen ),( Hani Nasser Abdelhamid ),( Hui-fen Wu ) 한국질량분석학회 2017 Mass spectrometry letters Vol.8 No.1
Analysis of quinidine for fish tissues using single drop microextraction (SDME) coupled with atmospheric pressure matrix assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (AP-MALDI-MS) are reported. Optimization conditions; such as extraction solvent, extraction time, pH of the aqueous solution, salt additions (NaCl), stirring rate, matrix type and concentration are investigated. Linear dynamic range (μM), limit of detection, relative recovery%, and enrichment factor are 0.08-9.2, 0.05, 94.8±3.1- 98.5±3.3%, 4.34±0.28-4.40±0.30, respectively. SDME-AP-MALDI-MS shows good intraday and interday reproducibility.
Sequential estimation for covariate-adjusted response-adaptive desi
Yuan-chin Ivan Chang,박은식 한국통계학회 2013 Journal of the Korean Statistical Society Vol.42 No.1
In clinical trials, a covariate-adjusted response-adaptive (CARA) design allows a subject newly entering a trial a better chance of being allocated to a superior treatment regimen based on cumulative information from previous subjects, and adjusts the allocation according to individual covariate information. Since this design allocates subjects sequentially, it is natural to apply a sequential method for estimating the treatment effect in order to make the data analysis more efficient. In this paper, we study the sequential estimation of treatment effect for a general CARA design. A stopping criterion is proposed such that the estimates satisfy a prescribed precision when the sampling is stopped. The properties of estimates and stopping time are obtained under the proposed stopping rule. In addition, we show that the asymptotic properties of the allocation function, under the proposed stopping rule, are the same as those obtained in the non-sequential/fixed sample size counterpart. We then illustrate the performance of the proposed procedure with some simulation results using logistic models. The properties, such as the coverage probability of treatment effect, correct allocation proportion and average sample size, for diverse combinations of initial sample sizes and tuning parameters in the utility function are discussed.

A about 2-month- old, mixed female cat was refered to Yeon Chang Veterinary Clinic in Taiwan. Becausethis patient was wandering cat, precise history was not known. At first admision, miosis, ptosis and protrusion of the nictitating membrane was observed in the right sided eye, and also slight miosis was found in the left sided eye. The patient was diagnosed into feline HS. Oculo-AP and injection-AP with dexamethasone were applied to this patient. minutes. In addition, injection-AP with dexamethasone (0.2 ml/acupoint) at BL01-Jing Ming, BL02-Zan Zhu and ST01-Cheng Qi. After AP treatment, prolapse of the nictitating membrane was amazingly disapeared and pupil was dilatated at sesion 1. Ocular findings at sesion 2 (one day after sesion 1) were maintained with nearly normal state. Accordingly, the present patient was a case with feline HS that showed favorable therapeutic effect by AP treatment.

Background: The prevalence and incidence of latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) in patients with kidney transplant remains unclear. Methods: In this prospective study, we enrolled kidney transplant candidates (KTCs) and recipients (KTRs) from 2014 to 2018. We defined LTBI as a positive result of QuantiFERON-TB Gold In-tube (QFT). We analyzed the predictors for LTBI acquisition and followed QFT test for 2 years among those initially without LTBI. Results: Of 425 patients enrolled, 305 (71.8%) patients belonged to the KTC group and 120 (28.2%) to the KTR group. The initial QFT showed positive results in 33 (10.8%) and 25 (20.8%) in the KTC and KTR groups, respectively (p=0.007). The QFT response value in LTBI patients was higher in the KTR group than in the KTC group (1.85 vs. 1.06 IU/ml, p=0.046). Multivariate logistic regression showed that old age, absence of Bacillus Calmette-Guerin scar, and KTR group were independent factors for positive LTBI. For participants with initial negative QFT, positive QFT conversion within 2-year follow-up was higher after kidney transplantation (20%) than in KTCs (5.5%) (p=0.032). Conclusion: This study is the first cohort to follow up LTBI status in patients with kidney transplant and shows its higher prevalence and incidence in those belong to KTR. It indicates that surveillance of LTBI after renal transplantation is important.
An Improved Efficient Provable Secure Identity-Based Identification Scheme in the Standard Model
( Syh-yuan Tan ),( Ji-jian Chin ),( Swee-huay Heng ),( Bok-min Goi ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2013 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.7 No.4
In 2008, Chin et al. proposed an efficient and provable secure identity-based identification scheme in the standard model. However, we discovered a subtle flaw in the security proof which renders the proof of security useless. While no weakness has been found in the scheme itself, a scheme that is desired would be one with an accompanying proof of security. In this paper, we provide a fix to the scheme to overcome the problem without affecting the efficiency as well as a new proof of security. In particular, we show that only one extra pre-computable pairing operation should be added into the commitment phase of the identification protocol to fix the proof of security under the same hard problems.

Order Imbalances in Options and Volatility Risk Premium on Equity Index
Chin-Ho Chen,Huimin Chung,Wen-Liang G. Hsieh,Shu-Fang Yuan 한국재무학회 2011 한국재무학회 학술대회 Vol.2011 No.09
This study explores the impact of aggregate daily order imbalances in options on volatility risk premium on its underlying index. Two types of volatility risk premium, ex-post and ex-ante volatility risk premiums, are included to address this issue. Based on Taiwan stock index and options (TXO) data over the period from January 1, 2005 to December 31, 2009, several interesting results emerge. First, order imbalances in near-month options, especially for call options’, have a predominant influence on ex-post and ex-ante volatility risk premiums. Next, order imbalances of near-month options in either direction, excess buy orders or excess sell order, have distinct effect on volatility risk premium. Overall, the increased level of excess buy orders drives ex-post and ex-ante volatility risk premiums upward, but downward only for excess sell orders in call options. Finally, ex-post and ex-ante volatility risk premiums are positively related to order imbalances of near-month options in respond to continuous price variations. Nonetheless, there is no significant relation for index price jumps.
