<P>In spite of severe side effects, chemotherapy is widely used as a major anticancer treatment in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). In order to enhance the therapeutic properties and reduce side effects, enormous efforts have been devoted to direct anticancer agents specifically to tumor tissues by the use of nanoparticles, or cancer cell marker attached drugs. However, cell-specific chemotherapy is still in its infancy and is not applicable to all types of cancers due to the complexity of the cancer occurrence and progress. In this study, we demonstrate that hyaluronan (HA)-conjugated cisplatin has highly selective and sensitive anticancer effects in NSCLC cells that overexpress the trans-membrane receptor, CD44, as HA is a specific ligand for CD44. In proliferation experiments, HA-conjugated cisplatin showed dramatic cell viability decreases (from 100% to 42.31%) in H1299 cells, which overexpress CD44, whereas no such change was observed in A549 and HFL1, which have little to no expression of CD44. More importantly, conjugation with HA decreased the dosage concentration of cisplatin by 50-fold for both cytotoxic and anti-metastatic effects. In addition, HA-cisplatin conjugate treatment selectively decreased migration (from 100% to 7.8%) and invasiveness (from 100% to 21.4%, respectively) of H1299. Based on our experimental results, we strongly believe that HA-cisplatin conjugate is a potential anticancer chemo-agent, which target CD44 overexpression in NSCLC, with minimal side effects and high therapeutic properties.</P>

The effect of cooling rate on the microstructure evolution of liquid Cu nanoparticles during their solidification process is investigated by using a molecular dynamics simulation based on the embedded atom method (EAM) potential developed by Foiles et al.. The potential energy analysis, the pair distribution function and the common neighbor analysis have been used. The results show that the solidification point increases with decreasing cooling rate and that the solidification of the microstructure of Cu nanoparticles varies with the cooling rate. The microstructure consists of fcc,hcp and bcc crystals or mixtures, though the fcc structure dominates, except in the amorphous state. An amorphous structure was obtained when the cooling rate reached 1.0 × 1013 K/s or higher while crystallization degree increased with decreasing cooling rate, and the total content of crystal structures reached to 95% when the cooling rate dropped to 4.0 × 1011 K/s, which was nearly a perfect crystal structure. The results also indicate that a single-crystal nanoparticle will not be obtained by quenching the liquid metal under various cooling rates.

This paper is based on Yanbian University's physical test data, and uses statistical analysis methods to study the relationship between college students' physical test scores to promote college physical education. Firstly, using gender as categorical variables, we conduct a general analysis of students in different majors and different grades, and obtain the advantages and disadvantages of male and female college students; then we use Decision Trees and Random Forest algorithms to conduct modeling analysis to provide valuable suggestions for relevant departments of the university. the aiming of this research analyzing about the undergraduates physical test is that giving universities the targeted suggestions to improve the college graduate rate and promote the overall development of higher education, lay the foundation for achieving universal health.

We here document discovery of a new and simple model of tumor seeding involving the mouse peritoneum. Irradiated tumor cells administered by i.p. injection provided effective vaccination against peritoneal carcinomatosis and distal metastasis with colorectal carcinomas. In flow cytometric analysis, CD4+ and CD8+ T lymphocytes, macrophages and myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs), which are easy to obtain in the peritoneal cavity, were revealed to have significant differences between immunized and non-immunized mice and these contributed to antitumor responses. We also observed that both serum and peritoneal lavage fluid harvested from immunized mice showed the presence of CT26-specific autoantibodies. In addition, increase in level of TGF-${\beta}1$ and IL-10 in serum but a decrease of TGF-${\beta}1$ in peritoneum was found. Taken together, these findings may provide a new vaccine strategy for the prevention of peritoneal and even systemic metastasis of carcinomas through induction of an autoimmune response in the peritoneum.

This paper investigates the acceptance and evolution of the Eight Scenary poem which existed in the history of Japanese literature. It aims to illustrate the similarities and differences between Chinese literature and Japanese literature. The following five points can be illustrated in this paper. Firstly, there opened a debate concerning on the poetical thought of Wu-Chu and DongTing in the academia. Secondly, the name of Japanese showplace was originally from the name of ZuoXiang which has the meaning of “sitting in XiaoXiang River” in SuShi’s poem. The beauty of the Eight Scenary was reflected in the line of “sitting in XiaoXiang River”. Thirdly, the Eight Scenary poem shared the literary material of Chu-Xiang. It also portrayed the view of senary through Japanesque poetic diction. Fourthly, the Japanese characters which were described in Chinese Eight Scenary poem were unique and different in mood. These characters were applied to Japanese poem for expressing the meaning of “mist”. Fifthly, the Japanese “fake scenary” was criticized as the “slave of XiaoXiang”.To sum up, the author found that Japanese scholars had a special thought to the aspect of acceptance and evolution of the Eight Scenary poem.

This study aims to study how Korean-Chinese international students in Korea express their language identities in code-switching speech. Group interviews with 24 Korean-Chinese international students will be conducted to freely set the use of language in the progress of several studies. As a result of research, the number of utterances in Korean is the highest, and the number of utterances in the code-switching appears second. For a total of 11 language-specific formations, 9 were found in the code-switching speeches. The significance of this study was to classify the pragmatic functions of code-switching and examine how they were embodied by language identity factors. Through group interviews, we have analyzed the language function of Korean-Chinese international students’ code switching, and combined them with the factors which is form their language identity. Overall, it shows that their language identity is revealed by using the function of code switching organized in this study. They think that their main language is Chinese, but it can be seen that they mainly use Korean language currently, and at the same time switch the codes according to the situation and communities. Heat stress (HS) may induce immunosuppression as well as inhibit the proliferation of lymphocytes. This study evaluated the effects on immune function of our prescription on splenic lymphocytes under HS as well as its compatibility. The effects of four herbal extracts from Agastache rugosa, Atractylodes lancea, Cortex Phellodendri, and Gypsum Fibrosum on heat treated splenic lymphocytes were investigated and the compatibility of the prescription was also explored by using the Taguchi method. This study revealed changes in proliferation by traditional Chinese medicines of splenic lymphocytes after HS. Proliferation in the HS group was significantly lower than the control group. Under HS, the effects of higher concentrations of Agastache rugosa (100 and 200 μg/mL), Atractylodes lancea (100 and 200 μg/mL), Cortex Phellodendri (50 and 100 μg/mL) and Gypsum Fibrosum (100 and 200 μg/mL) caused a significant increase on ConA/LPS-induced proliferation of lymphocytes than lower concentrations. We, therefore, conclude that the prescription of traditional Chinese medicines may recover splenic lymphocytes from the immunosuppression induced by HS. The Taguchi design, which allows rapid and high efficiency for the selection of the best conditions for our prescription on HS-treated splenic lymphocytes, demonstrated that Agastache rugosa (200 μg/mL), Atractylodes lancea (200 μg/mL), Cortex Phellodendri (100 μg/mL) and Gypsum Fibrosum (100 μg/mL)were the optimal conditions for the prescription. The validation experiment confirmed that our composition in optimum extraction conditions enhanced effects on ConA or LPS-stimulated lymphocytes under HS. The results showed that the Taguchi optimization approach is a suitable method for optimization of the composition of prescription.
