        The flora of Mt. Gujeolsan (329m) and neighbor areas such as Mt. Noseongsan (348m) was surveyed in this study from the middle of February till the middle of October, 2001. The vascular plants collected from these areas are as following: 123 taxa those are 16 varieties, 107 species, 92 genera, 48 families, 24 orders and 5 phyla. There are 4 taxa from southern plant in these areas. And there are two taxa of special protected plants which was designated from Ministry Environment of Korea, those are one taxon 3rd, and one taxon of 1st grade.

      • Spheroid 조합자극치료 적용이 신체구성에 미치는 영향

        The present study aims to explore the effects of applying spheroid-combined stimulating therapy on body composition. For this aim. 20 persons were selected as subjects and 10 of them each were assigned to the experimental group and control group, respectively. The experimental group was applied a 12-week combined stimulating therapy and changes in physical constitution of the members were measured before application and 4, 8 and 12 weeks after application. From the study, following conclusions could be drawn: First, body weights of the experimental group decreased from 59.9kgs before application of the spheroid-combined stimulating therapy to 57.2kgs 12 weeks after application, no significant but 4.51% change. Second, body fats of the experimental group changed from 18.8kgs before application to 16.4kgs 12 weeks after application, no significant but 12.77% reduction. Third, % fats of the experimental group decreased from 31.2% before application to 28.6% 12 weeks after application, no significant change but 8.33% reduction. Fourth, body mass index(BMI) of the experimental group decreased from 23.23 kg/㎡ before application of the therapy to 21.43kg/㎡ after application, no significant but 8.03% reduction. As seen above, the 12-week application of the spheroid-combined stimulating therapy produced no significant changes in physical constitution as physical exercise did, but improved physical constitution by reducing certain amount of boy weight, body fat, % fat and BMI. In order to detect more positive and significant changes in physical constitutions, continued studies and clinical experiments should be performed to more diverse subjects using technically reinforced equipment for spheroid-combined stimulating therapy.

        입원된 정신활성물질 남용자의 사회정신의학적 특징

        This study was attempted to clarify sociopsychiatric characteristics according to the class of psychoactive substances which were classified into 8 groups such and methamphetamin, cocaine, inhalants(bond/gas), dextromethorphan(Romilar), sedatives marijuana, analgesics and etc. The data of the study were collected from 134 psychoactive substance abusers(89men, 45women), who had admitted to SNMH during past 5 years. The results were as follows ; 1) The mean age of patients was 26.5±9.6 years and according to the class of psychoactive substance, inhalant and dextromethorphan abusers were significantly younger than sedatives and analgesics abusers(P〈0.01). 2) 43.1% of patients were grown up in broken family until puberty and 27.9% of married patients showed unstable marital state such as a divorce or seperation. 3) 41.4% of patients had past history of delinquent behavior and especially, inhalants and dextromethorphan abusers had more past history of delinquent behavior than sedatives and analgesics abusers(P〈0.01). 4) The main motive of mitiation of psychoactive substance was peer pressure, relief of psysical symptoms, curiosity in that order. 75% of inhalants abusers were itiated by peer pressure, but most of sedatives and analygesics abusers used it for the purpose of relieving of physical symptoms, and methamphetamine abusers used it mainly due to peer pressure or for the purpose of increasing sexual plesure(P〈0.01). 5) 57.5% of patients reported the experience of unwanted response such as unpleasant hallucinatory state, loss of control, and psychotic state after use of psychoactive substances. Especially the unwanted respose was reported more frequently in methamphetamin and inhalants abusers. 6) 38.5% of patients abused more than two classes of psychoactive substances, and their significant combination types were not found but inhalant-dextromethorphan, analygesics-sedatives and methamphetamine-marijuana combination types were relatively common.

        다큐멘터리 재현양식 연구 : <워낭소리>와 <택시 블루스>를 중심으로

        다큐멘터리가 묘사하고자하는 사람이나 사건은 현실에 실제로 존재한다. 픽션 영화의 인물이나 장소가 허구의, 만들어진 존재임에 반하여 다큐멘터리가 묘사하는 대상은 다큐멘터리의 묘사와는 상관없이, 또는 다큐멘터리가 그 존재를 묘사하지 않았을 때에도 존재한다. 하지만 현실에 존재하는 대상을 재현하기 위해서는 인공적인 장치에 의존해야 한다. 그 장치는 재현해야 하는 현실의 속성과는 다른 종류의 미학적인 장치이다. 그렇기 때문에 미학적인 장치를 통한 재현은 현실을 지시하면서도 왜곡하거나 변화시킬 가능성을 처음부터 안고 출발한다. 본 글은 <택시 블루스>와 <워낭소리>의 재현양식의 분석을 목표로 한다. 두 영화 모두 혼합된 다큐멘터리 양식을 사용하면서 다큐멘터리가 가진 표현양식의 한계를 넘어서려고 시도했다. 그 결과로 <택시 블루스>는 픽션이냐 아니냐 하는 논란에 휩싸였고 <워낭소리>는 다큐멘터리로서는 드물게 300만 관객을 동원하는 대중적 성공을 거두었다. 물론 재현양식이 그 결과를 모두 설명할 수 있는 것은 아니겠지만 두 영화가 가지고 있는 장점과 단점은 많은 부분 특정한 재현양식의 차용과 그것의 변형에서 비롯된다. 빌 니콜스(Bill Nichols)의 재현양식의 구분을 따라서, 두 영화가 차용한 지배적인 재현양식과 그것의 변형이 어떤 목적을 위해서 어떻게 사용되었고 그것의 효과가 무엇인지를 그리고 그러한 재현양식이 현실과 맺는 관계를 분석한다. A documentary film describes people or events being in the world. People or events in the documentary have existed without such a description unlike people or events in the fiction film. To represent things in the world depends on artificial devices different from things in their nature. Because of it, things described are always both an indication and a distortion of things in the world. I try to analyse Taxi Blues and An old partner in terms of representational mode. Both films try to negotiate confliction between the real and its representation with mixed representational mode. it produced a huge success of An old partner in box office and critical debates on Taxi Blues. Although it is not sufficient to explain all the issues related to both films by analysis of their representational mode, I believe it can hint its success and failure of each film regarding such a negotiation and enrich discourses on documentary film-making in Korean soil. With Bill nichols's categorization, I will analyse both films' representational mode, and its effect on the real and its representation, and the audience.

        TAZ as a novel regulator of oxidative damage in decidualization via Nrf2/ARE/Foxo1 pathway

        TAZ, as a crucial effector of Hippo pathway, is required for spermatogenesis and fertilization, but little is known regarding its physiological function in uterine decidualization. In this study, we showed that TAZ was localized in the decidua, where it promoted stromal cell proliferation followed by accelerated G1/S phase transition via Ccnd3 and Cdk4 and induced the expression or activity of stromal differentiation markers Prl8a2, Prl3c1 and ALP, indicating the importance of TAZ in decidualization. Knockdown of TAZ impeded HB-EGF induction of stromal cell proliferation and differentiation. Under oxidative stress, TAZ protected stromal differentiation against oxidative damage by reducing intracellular ROS and enhancing cellular antioxidant capacity dependent on the Nrf2/ARE/Foxo1 pathway. TAZ strengthened the transcriptional activity of Nrf2 which directly bound to the antioxidant response element (ARE) of Foxo1 promoter region. Additionally, silencing TAZ caused accumulation of intracellular ROS through heightening NOX activity whose blockade by APO reversed the disruption in stromal differentiation. Further analysis revealed that TAZ might restore mitochondrial function, as indicated by the increase in ATP level, mtDNA copy number and mitochondrial membrane potential with the reduction in mitochondrial superoxide. Additionally, TAZ modulated the activities of mitochondrial respiratory chain complexes I and III whose suppression by ROT and AA resulted in the inability of TAZ to defend against oxidative damage to stromal differentiation. Moreover, TAZ prevented stromal cell apoptosis by upregulating Bcl2 expression and inhibiting Casp3 activity and Bax expression. In summary, TAZ might mediate HB-EGF function in uterine decidualization through Ccnd3 and ameliorate oxidative damage to stromal cell differentiation via Nrf2/ARE/Foxo1 pathway.

        Ellipsometric Study of the Optical Properties of Silicon-Based Si:SiO2 Composite Thin Films under Different Annealing Temperatures

        In our work, silicon and silica composite .lms were prepared by using a magnetron sputtering method, and the samples were annealed in the temperature range between 200 ±C and 600 ±C. After annealing, the samples were investigated by spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE), and the SE spectra were measured in the range of 1.5 eV ≫ 4.5 eV with a dual-rotating-element ellipsometer. In order to investigate the microstructure information of the .lm by .tting the SE spectra using the eective- medium approximation (EMA), we modeled the whole .lm by using a multilayer optical model including a surface oxide layer, a composite layer, and substrate layer. We used dierent mixtures to describe the composite layer, and .nally we found that a mixture of amorphous silicon (a-Si), polycrystalline silicon (p-Si), and silicon dioxide had the best .t to the SE spectra. Whereafter, we studied the dependences of the surface roughness, the layer structure, and the composition on the dierent annealing temperatures and found that with increasing annealing temperature, the surface oxide layer grew in thickness, the silicon dioxide maintained its volume fraction, and a-Si transferred to p-Si.

        First Report on Bacterial Heart Rot of Garlic Caused by Pseudomonas fluorescens in China

        An unreported disease of garlic was observed in commercial fields in Jiangsu province, China. The symptoms started as water soaked lesions at the base of the leaves. Later, water-soaked areas developed on stems and spread to the internal tissues, followed by yellowing and necrosis along leaf edges and soft rot of the stems. The causal organism isolated from symptomatic plants was identified as Pseudomonas fluorescens based on its biochemical and physiological characteristics and confirmed by the cellular fatty acid composition and Biolog data as well as 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis. The bacterial isolates caused similar symptoms when inoculated onto garlic plants. In addition, leek and shallot were susceptible to the P. fluorescens pathogen. However, the P. fluorescens pathogen failed to cause any symptoms when it was inoculated onto 15 other plants. This is the first report of a bacterial disease of garlic caused by P. fluorescens in China.

        Effect of different alfalfa cultivars on growth and development of the spotted alfalfa aphid, Therioaphis trifolii(Monell)

        Therioaphis trifolii (Monell) is a well-known pest in alfalfa cultivation in China. Individuals of T. t r i f o l i i were allowed to feed on 10 alfalfa cultivars and their growth, reproduction, and population life table parameters were estimated. Nymphs that fed on Hunter River had the longest development time, whereas nymphs that fed on Defu had the shortest development time. Adults that fed on Debao, Zhongmu No. 2, and Defu had the shortest development time, whereas adults that fed on Golden Empress and Hunter River had the longest development times. Individuals that fed on Zhungeer produced the greatest number of offspring (13.950), and those that fed on Hunter River produced the fewest offspring (6.000). The survival rate of T. t r i f o l i i was the highest on Algonquin and lowest on Hunter River, whereas the survival time was the longest on Golden Empress and shortest on Debao. The population that fed on Algonquin had the highest intrinsic growth rate (0.560) and shortest population doubling time (1.237 days), whereas those that fed on Hunter River had the lowest intrinsic growth rate (0.217) and longest population doubling time (3.194 days). The life table parameters of the experimental T. t r i f o l i i population were used to quantify the resistance strengths of the cultivars. Results indicate that the Hunter River cultivar may effectively resist damage from T. trifolii. This study provides a theoretical basis for breeding aphid-resistant alfalfa cultivars, enabling further research into the prevention and control of aphid infestation.

        EFFECT OF CHARGE DENSITY ON SPRAY CHARACTERISTICS, COMBUSTION PROCESS, AND EMISSIONS OF HEAVY-DUTY DIESEL ENGINES

        In-cylinder charge density at top dead center is an important parameter of diesel engines and is influenced by intake pressure, intake temperature, and compression ratio. The effects of charge density on fuel spray, combustion process, and emissions were investigated by using a constant volume bomb and a heavy-duty diesel engine. Spray development resistance increased with the increase of the charge density in the constant volume bomb. It was found that short spray penetration was accompanied by a large spray cone angle in the former stage with high charge density. However, the equivalence ratio was lowered and the degree of homogeneity of the mixture was increased in the later stage owing to the rapid interaction of fuel and gas at a high mixing rate. Combining the first law of thermodynamics and the second law of thermodynamics for analysis, as the charge density increased, the gross indicated thermal efficiency (ITEg) was improved. However, pumping loss had to be considered with higher charge density. Under this condition, the brake thermal efficiency (BTE) trend was increased initially and decreased subsequently. Under high-load operation (1200 r/min BMEP, 2.0 MPa), the minimum charge density value of 44.8 kg/m3 was found to be reasonable. This charge density was suitable for combustion and brought about minimum exhaust energy and trade-off emissions. Moreover, by analyzing two operation conditions in terms of the maximum BTE with the Miller and the conventional cycles, compression temperature and combustion temperature were reduced in the Miller cycle with the charge density 44.8 kg/m3. A high C p/C v could improve the cylinder exergy/power conversion process by its positive effect of increasing the specific heat ratio. Owing to the interaction between a high C p/C v and exergy loss to heat transfer, the condition with the minimal charge density could produce more piston work.
