      • Bodywork in the Clinical Humanities

        This paper begins with a discussion of the importance of the clinical humanities, the study of the interface between medicine and the humanities and the application of the results to clinical practice. The clinical humanities applies the insights of both the humanities and social sciences―including such seemingly unrelated fields as the fine arts, philosophy, literature, history, anthropology, psychology, and religion―to the understanding and alleviation of suffering. In recognition of the healing power of the humanities, it is hoped that this paper will encourage scholars working in the humanities and social sciences to give more attention to how their respective disciplines might contribute to the alleviation of suffering. Each discipline has the potential to contribute to this endeavor in a unique way, thereby forging a synergistic field of knowledge characterized by interdisciplinary communication and collaboration. An embodied space for the humanities is not only an attitude towards life, but also a type of bodywork, a lifestyle, and a way of thinking. Beginning with a discussion of the theories on body feeling, this paper adopts the perspective of the phenomenology of the body to investigate various types of bodywork steeped in the humanities and develop a “hands on” approach to the clinical humanities. We use the term “body feeling” with reference to a subtle impression or sensation, what Laozi referred to as xiwei希微, the infinitesimal. This refers to highly subtle emotive transformations, and is quite distinct from what we normally refer to as “emotions.” Body feeling can be seen as a manifestation of the human spirit, and is an important factor which organizes and influences human thought and behavior. Due to this emphasis on body feeling, the clinical humanities is closely related to humanistic healing, thereby revealing the contours of a lived world thoroughly imbued with the spirit and sensitivity of the humanities.

        Two New Species of Placolecis (Lichenized Ascomycota) from China

        Two new species of the lichen genus Placolecis are discovered in China, namely P. kunmingensis An. C. Yin & Li S. Wang and P. sublaevis An. C. Yin & Li S. Wang. The new combination P. loekoesiana (S.Y. Kondr., Farkas, J.J. Woo & Hur) An. C. Yin is proposed. Placolecis kunmingensis is characterized by having simple, spherical or ellipsoid, hyaline spores, and pear-shaped pycnidia; while P. sublaevis can be distinguished by its thallus forming larger aggregations with slightly flattened lobes at the thallus margin, and urn-shaped pycnidia. Descriptions, a phylogenetic tree and a key are provided for all the known Placolecis species in China.

      • 제자리 한 발 몸펴 앞 공중돌기 동작의 운동학적 분석

        이 연구는 Free workover forward 동작의 이상적인 지도방법과 마루와 평균대에서 좀 더 안정적이고 발전되는 기술동작을 배우는 데 기초자료로 제공함에 그 목적을 두었다. 이 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해서 H대학의 여자 체조 선수 3명을 임의 추출하여 운동학적인 변인을 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 마루운동에서 제자리 한발 몸펴 앞공중 돌기 동작을 연기하는데 1국면에서 슬관절과 고관절을 빠르게 신전시켜 회전속도를 증가시켜야하고 3국면에서 4국면까지 수직상승 탄력을 이용하여 신체를 높이 투사시켜 회전속도를 빠르게 하며 5국면에서 여유있는 착지를 이루는 자세가 가장 바람직한 동작임을 알 수 있다. This study has been aimed at providing an ideal instructive method of 'Free workover Forward′ motion and basic data for the learning of a more stable, developed, and skilful motions on the floor as well as balance beam. In order to achieve such an aim of this study, three female champions of physical exercise were employed at random from H University as the object for the research and analysis of kinetic variable factors as resulted in as follows. 1. It was learned that the change in the factor of time variance from phase 1 throughout phase 3 should quicken the time consumed and when remaining in the air the rotation force of the moving body should be accelerated in short moment. It was desirable that air-remaining time for the body should be raised by moving reaction of sposeting leg and the swing of kick should be big and quick. 2. When the location of the body center should move quickly the horizontal and vertical locations at phase 2, and the body was projected in the air at phase 3, the hips should be extended, the horizontal location should be small, the vertical location should be big, the height of remaining in the air should be raised so that landing posture could be taken with enough allowance of time due to increased time for remaining in the air. 3. when the body center passed the horizon as the speed variation of the body center at phase 1 throughout phase 3 raised the vertical speed with the application of the vertical speed and the reaction of the knees. It was known that a stable motion was made through the flexion of knees as it made vertical at phase 5 upholding quickly the moving body. 4. change of angles of the articulations yielded the greatest change of angles at the knees at phase 1 throughout phase 3, and before the rotation of the body, the arch posture motion was shown to be desirable to take a stable posture through straightening thy vertical posture by quick rotation force from too much extension of the knees. summarizing the above, in the performance of the motion of stretching the body with one step at the same position and rotating in the air, the rotation speed should be increased at phase 1 by extending rapidly the knees and hips at phase 3 throughout phase 4 the rotation speed should be quickened by projecting highly the body with the application of elasticity in vertical uprising and then forming an allowable landing was desirable at phase 5.

      • 안구적출에 따른 위둔덕의 칼슘결합단백질의 재구축 및 상호 연관성

        Background: Superior colliculus is a part of midbrain, and participates in the visual reflexes, It receives afferent fibers from optic nerve, visual cortex, and spinotectal tract. After optic deprivation, the microscopic structure of the superior colliculus changed. Calcium-binding proteins (CBPs) Play an important role in the neuronal protection, differentiation and reorganization of the central nervous system, Objectives and Methods: The effects of neonatal retinal deafferentation on a CBPs, calbindm D-28k (CB), Parvalbumin (PB) and calretimn (CR), and the existence of colocalization between the CBPs were examined immunohistochemically in the rat superior colliculus. Results: On the experimental (contralateral to enucleation) side of superior colliculus, the number of CB-immunoreactive (IR) cells was reduced (77.4% compared to control), but not fibers. The number of PB-IR neurons and fibers was also reduced on the experimental side (88.5% compared to control), In the other hand, the CR-IR cells were dramatically increased (642% compared to control), but CR-IR fibers were markedly decreased on the experimental side. The colocalization between CB-CR and PV-CR was rarely observed in the superior colliculus Conclusion: These results suggest that the changes of retinotectal projection may alter the expressional pattern of CBPs in different manners; relatively stable in CB- and PV-IR neurons and plastic in CR-IR neurons.

      • 장애 아동 통합 교육에 대한 교사의 태도 및 영향 요인 연구

        본 연구는 통합 교육에 대한 교사들의 태도에 대해 조사하였다. 우리 나라에서도 1994년에 개정된 특수교육 진흥법(1994년 1월 7일 법률 제 4716호 전문 개정, 1995년 12월 29일 제 5069호 일부 개정, 1997년 10월 일부 개정) 제 15조 '통합 교육의 실시' 조항에서 "일반 학교의 장은 특수 교육 대상자 또는 그의 보호자나 특수 교육 기관의 장이 통합 교육을 요구하는 경우에는 특별한 사유가 없는 한 이에 응하여야 함"이라고 명시함으로서 통합 교육을 장애 아동 교육 정책으로 삼고 있다. 이 새로운 정책은 모든 아동들이 일반 학교에서 교육을 받을 권리를 강조하고 있고 결과로서 교사들에게 그들의 학급에 장애 아동을 받을 것인지 받지 않을 것인지에 대한 선택의 여지가 없다는 기대를 갖게 한다. 본 연구의 결과는 교사들은 장애 아동들의 통합 교육에 대해 긍정적인 태도를 갖고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 교사들은 행동 장애 아동들이나 감각 장애 아동들보다는 지적 장애 아동들이나 신체 장애 아동들을 더 많이 그들의 학급에 통합시키기를 원하고 있다. 또 교사들은 중증 장애 아동들보다는 경증 장애 아동들의 통합에 더 긍정적이다. 이는 특별한 전문가들의 지원이 없는 상황에서 이들 장애 아동들을 그들이 교육하는 것이 어렵다는 것을 반영하고 있으며 특별한 지원이 있을 경우에 중증 장애 아동들의 통합 교육에 대한 그들의 태도가 바뀔 수도 있다는 것을 의미한다. The study investigated teachers' attitude toward the integration of children with disabilities as measured by responses on the Attitudes Toward Mainstreaming Scale in Korea. In 1994 a new policy which emphasized the rights of all children to an education in regular schools and the consequent expectation that teacher had no choice about whether they would accept children with disabilities into their classes had been introduced. It was found that teachers expressed positive attitude toward the integration of children with disabilities. It was also found that teachers would accept more children with intellectual disabilities and those with physical disabilities than children with disturbed behaviour and those with sensory disabilities into their regular classes. The availability of ancillary staff was seen as a major factor in the more positive attitudes toward the policy.

      • 수소화된 비정질 규소와 다결정 규소 박막의 반송자 이동도

        열처리는 규소 박막의 구조적, 광학적 성질뿐만 아니라 반송자 이동도 특성을 변화시킨다. 반송자 이동도는 주파수 응답 또는 시간 응답을 통해 소자의 동작에 영향을 끼친다. 본 논문은 수소화된 비정질 실리콘(a-Si:H)의 이동도 변화를 열처리 온도의 함수로써 살펴보았다. 이동도 측정에서 사용된 방법들에 대한 장단점들에 대해 검토하였다. 홀 효과와 Haynes-Shockley 방법은 a-Si:H 박막의 이동도 결정에 대한 오류를 나타내었다. TOF법은 a-Si:H에는 적용 가능하지만 높은 암전류때문에 다결정 실리콘(poly -Si)에는 적용할 수가 없다. 전도를 제한하는 공간전하, 박막 트랜지스터, 과도 전류 관찰방법등은 a-Si:H와 poly-Si의 이동도를 결정할 수 있었다. 규소 박막의 전계효과 이동도는 700℃이상의 고온처리와 RF 플라즈마 재수소화후에 20∼67㎠로 상승된 값을 얻었다. 우리는 박막 트랜지스터(TFT)와 과도 전류 관찰방법은 박막 실리콘 분석에 적당하다는 결론을 얻었다. The carrier mobility influences the device behavior through its frequency response or time response. This paper summarizes the mobility changes of the a-Si:H as a function of anneal temperature. The anneal treatment changes the carrier mobilities of thin film Si as well as optical and structural properties. The advantages and disadvantages were discussed for the employed methods in mobility measurement. Hall effect and Haynes-Shockley (HS) method exhibited some errors for a-Si:H mobility determination. A time of flight (TOF) method was attractive for the a-Si:H but not applicable for the poly-Si films because of high dark current. Space charge limited conduction (SCLC), thin film transistor (TFT), and transient current observation methods were able to determine the mobilities of a-Si:H and poly-Si films. A very high field effect mobility of 20-67㎠/V.s was observed after the high temperature anneal above 700℃, and grain boundary passivation using a RF plasma rehydrogenation. We learned that thin film transistor and transient current observation methods are suitable for the analysis of thin film Si.

        The blood compatibility of S(sulfur)-cyanoethylated keratin(SCEK) was studied. SCEK was obtained by rupture the cystine linkage of wool keratin followed by cyanoethylation. Platelet count, prothrombin time and activated partial thromboplastin time were measured by Coulter counter to investigate the behavior of blood on the surface of SCEK and other four synthetic materials. Enzyme linked immuno sorbent assay was adopted to measure platelet factor IV released from agranule in platelet. The contact an히e and gas permeation rate of SCEK were also measured.

        We experienced a 25 year-old male patient with typhoid fever complicated with massive hemoptysis. Pulmonary complication in typhoid fever is very rare and to our knowledge, there has been no report of hemoptysis as a main cause of death with this disease. We herein report a rare case of typhoid fever.

      • Structural and Electrical Properties of EOT HfO<sub>2</sub> (<1 nm) Grown on InAs by Atomic Layer Deposition and Its Thermal Stability

        <P>We report on-changes in the structural, interfacial, and electrical characteristics of sub-1 nm equivalent oxide thickness (EOT) HfO2 grown on InAs by atomic layer deposition. When the HfO2 film was deposited on an InAs substrate at a temperature of 300 degrees C, the HfO2 was in an amorphous phase with an sharp interface, an EOT of 0.9 nm, and low preexisting interfacial defect states. During post deposition annealing (PDA) at 600 degrees C, the HfO2 was transformed from an amorphous to a single crystalline orthorhombic phase, which minimizes the interfacial lattice mismatch below 0.8%. Accordingly, the HfO2 dielectric after the PDA had a dielectric constant of similar to 24 because of the permittivity of the well-ordered orthorhombic HfO2 structure. Moreover, border traps were reduced by half than the as-grown sample due to a reduction in bulk defects in HfO2 dielectric during the PDA. However, in terms of other electrical properties, the characteristics of the PDA-treated sample were degraded compared to the as-grown sample, with EOT values of 1.0 run and larger interfacial defect states (D-it) above 1 x 10(14) cm(-2) eV(-1). X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy data indicated that the diffusion of In atoms from the InAs substrate into the HfO2 dielectric during the PDA at 600 degrees C resulted in the development of substantial midgap states.</P>
