        Z. schinifolium and Z. piperitum have been used as natural favorite spice in Korea and Japan. Major volatile components in leaves of Z. schinifolium were α-pinene, cis-ocimene and trans-β-ocimene which comprized of 40% in total essential oil and α-pinene, limonene+β-phellandrene+1,8-cineole which of 64% in Z. piperitum. Volatile composition was varied with growth stages. Four chemotypes were identified based on the component of essential oil both in Z. schinifolium and Z. piperitum. Estragole was appeared in the fruit of Z. schinifolium, which increased further as ripening of fruits while azulene was detected in the fruit of Z. piperitum.

        Various innovations for the genetic modification of plants are being investigated in aiming to produce new varieties that can not be made by the conventional plant breeding scheme. One of the most promising approach in plant transformation is to introduce new genes into plant protoplasts and regenerate these protoplasts into whole plants with new improved characteristics. Before embark directly on a target economic crop, however, it seems a right way to establish firstly the feasibility of the protoplast approach in a model plant species where the cycle of plant to protoplast to plant is well established. When the protoplast approach was worked beautifully on the model species, then this technique would be extended to a economic crop with its difficulties in plant regeneration from the protoplasts. This report describe the procedures established through a serious of experiments for the optimum growth and regeneration conditions of the protoplasts isolated from Nicotiana plumbaginifolia leaf mesophyll cells.

        To locate the resistant genes to rice blast fungus on linkage groups and also to investigate the mode of inheritance of resistant genes, progenies derived from the crosses between resistant varieties and genetic markers were inoculated with spray method at 4-5 leaf stage with races namely, ?? and ??. The results are summarized as follows: 1. Resistant genes against the races ?? and ?? were not related with the genetic markers used-(Cl),, (Pn), (g), ??, (gh), (dn), (nl) and (bl) except five crosses of Tadukan×genetic marker (bl), Tetep×genetic marker (g) and Tetep×genetic marker (dn). 2. Detailed component analysis in the above five crosses revealed that resistance genes of Tetep to ?? race were linked with the genetic marker (dn), while resistance genes of Tadukan were independent from the genetic marker (bl). Resistance gene of Tetep to the ?? race was linked with the genetic marker (dn) while it was independent with the genetic marker(g). Resistance genes of Suweon 287 to the ?? race were linked with the genetic marker (bl). 3. Resistance of tetep to the ?? race was expressed by inhibiting gene action between two dominant genes. 4. Resisstance of Tetep to the ?? race was controlled by a single dominant gene, while resistance of Suweon 287 was expressed by inhibiting gene action between two deminant genes. Resistance of tetep to the C-g?? race was expressed by inhibiting gene action between two dominant genes. 4. Resisstance of Tetep to the T-2?? race was controlled by a single dominant gene, while resistance of Suweon 287 was expressed by inhibiting gene action between two deminant genes.

      • 지황에서 신초의 유도와 신장 및 순화

        This experiment was carried out to find the proper way for shoot induction and elongation in bioreactor culture of Rehmannia glutinosa and acclimatization for field cultivation. Multiplication rate of the explants was significantly improved in the induction media with 1.0mg/L thidiazuron alone. Multiple shoots induced in media(MS media with thidiazuron 1.0mg/L) supplemented with paclobutrazol 0.3mg/L had significantly lower vitrification rate. The presence of paclobutrazol during shoot induction decreased the number of shoots and nodes per shoot. Half strength MS media with 1.2% agar and 3% sucrose improved acclimatization and rooting of shoots derived from bioreactor culture. Shoots were effectively acclimatized and rooted well in vessel with membrane filter. Shoots acclimatized in vessel with membrane filter were healthier and had higher ex vitro survival rate than those without membrane filter in plug tray.

        This experiment was carried out to determine the proper condition for protoplast isolation and fusion in Nicotiana sylvestris and N. plumbaginifolia, and plant regeneration from fused cells. Enzyme mix of 2.0% cellulase R10 0.5% macerozyme R10 was proper for protoplast isolation from leaf mesophyll cells. Optimum fusin frequency was observed in solution(pH5.8) of PEG(6000) 35% and 9mM CaCl₂Callus was induced 20 days after plating on culture medium. Shoots were formed 6 weeks after plating on shooting medium and rooted on MS basal medium thereafter. Three out of 20 regenerated plants were identfied as somatic hybrids by peroxidase isozyme analysis.

        DC 마그네트론 스퍼터링법으로 제조된 코발트 박막에 대해 증착속도 및 미세구조에 미치는 스퍼터링조건의 영향을 조사하였다. 증착속도는 투입전력이 커질수록 증가하였으며, 아르곤 압력이 커질수록 감소하였는데, 이는 투입전력의 증가로 인한 타게트 표면의 이온전류 밀도의 상승과 Ar 압력증가에 따른 비산효과의 증대로 인한 타게트 표면의 이온 전류 밀도의 감소로 고찰되었다. 투입전력이 커질수록 결정립의 크기가 감소하였으며, 투입 전력에 관계없이 특정한 면이 발달하지 않는 비정실 구조를 나타내었다. Ar 압력에 관계없이 비정질 구조를 나타내었다. We have investigated the influence of sputtering condition on deposition rate and microstructure of Co thin film produced by the method of DC Magnetron Sputtering. Deposition rate increased with the input power due to the rise in ionic current density on the surface of target, and decreased with the pressure of Ar gas due to the decrement of ionic current density by the effect of diffusion. Microstructure of the Co thin film became a finer structure with the increase in the input power, and showed amorphous irrespective of the charge of the input power and the pressure of Ar gas.

        The skin is an uncommon site of distant metastasis from any internal malignancy, and the incidence of metastatic skin lesions as the first symptom of disease is only 0.8% in patients with all systemic malignancies. Furthermore, cutaneous metastasis from adenocarcinoma of the stomach has been found to be extremely rare. A 35-year-old female patient was admitted due to multiple cutaneous nodules in her chest, abdomen, and back. A gastroendoscopic examination and biopsy was made according to the results of skin pathologic findings. Stomach and skin biopsy results revealed a signet ring cell type of adenocarcinoma. A case of gastric adenocarcinoma in which metastatic skin nodules appeared as the first sign of disease, is here in reported with a review of related literature.

        영일만에 출현하는 부유성 난과 자치어의 종조성 및 계절변화

        경상북도 영일만 연안에서 2001년 2월, 5월, 8월 및 11월에 계절별로 채집된 부유성 난과 자치어의 종조성 및 계절변화를 연구하였다. 채집된 부유성 난은 총 9개 분류군으로, 멸치가 출현량의 63.4%로 가장 우점하였고, 다음 까나리는 23.7%를 차지하였으며, 나머지는 7개 분류군이 12.9%를 차지하였다. 자치어는 총 7목 28과 37개의 분류군이 출현하였는데, 그 중 32개 분류군은 종 수준까지, 3개 분류군은 속 수준까지, 2개 분류군은 과 수준까지 동정하였다. 2월에는 2목 7과 12종, 5월에는 3목 5과 7종, 8월에는 6목 18과 21종, 11월에는 6목 14과 16종이 출현하였다. 주요 출현종으로서는 까나리가 자치어 출현량의 22.7%를 차지하여 가장 우점하였으며, 다음은 멸치가 16.7%, 동갈양태속 어류가 14.1%를 차지하였고, 노래미와 쥐노래미가 각각 5.7%와 5.5를 차지하였다. The ichthyoplanktons in coastal waters of Yongil Bay were sampled during four different months (February, May, August and November 2001) to study their distribution. The collected fish eggs were identified as belonging to nine species. The most dominant species Engraulis japonicus accounted for 63.4% of the total fish eggs, followed by Ammodytes personatus (23.7%) and Sardinops melanostictus (9.2%). The collected larvae and juveniles were identified into 37 taxa (28 families, 7 orders). Of these, 32 were identified to species, three were identified to genus and two were identified to family level. The dominant species Ammodytes personatus accounted for 22.7% of the total larvae and juveniles, followed by Engraulis japonicus (16.7%), and Repomucenus sp. (14.1%). These three taxa constituted 53.5% of the total collected larvae and juveniles.

        In order to compare the characteristics of traffic accident trends before and after the amendment of The Road Traffic Law, the author analyzed 541 accident victims for one month before and after the amendment of The Road Traffic Law. The findings of study were summerized as follow: 1. Traffic accidents were decreased 36.2% after amendment of The Road Traffic Law than before, which were decreased highly in the low education group and the drive career over ten years group. 2. Traffic accidents were most frequent during the time 12:00-20:00. For the comparison between before and after amendment of The Road Traffic Law, during the time between 20:00-24:00, the traffic accident was decreased with 54.3%, but during the time between 24:00-04:00, the traffic accident was increased with 70%. 3. Traffic accidents by the motorcar was most frequent, but the rate by bus and microbus was highly decreased after the amendment of traffic law. For the cause of accidents, unobeyed safety driving was most frequent cause, but that was decreased conspicuously among alcohol drinking driving and over speed driving. 4. Most patients were injured mildly, and traffic accident rate of it was far lower than injured severely or death after the amendment of the traffic law. Most traffic accidents were sprain and contusion. Fractures were decreased the highest rate after the amendment of the Road Traffic Law. The most patients was treated for 2 weeks, but treated over 4 weeks was decreased least. 5. For the state of traffic accidents, severe injuries, head traumas and fractures were higher rate among drinking driving, but mild injuries, sprains and contusions were higher rate among nondrinking driving. The duration of treatment was short for the accidents by non-drinking drive, but that was long among by the drinking drive.
