For more effective intraperitoneal chemotherapy, the authers made 5-fluorouracil-polyglycolic acid composite disks(FU-PGA disks) with 5-fluorouracil and polyglycolic acid, a biodegradable polymer. We inserted the FU-PGA disk into the peritoneal cavites of Sprague-Dawley male rats, the control and three experimental groups; one FU-PGA disk insert group(300mg/kg), two FU-PGA disk insert group(600mg/kg), and three FU-PGA disk insert group(900mg/kg). The control group received a similar number of PGA disk inserts. A pharmacokinetic study was performed to measure the 5-fluorouracil concentration in the peritoneal fluid, blood, and tissues(liver, kidney and heart) at 24 hours, 72hours and 168 hours after insertion of the FU-PGA disk. Light and electron microscopic studies were done. The results were as follows: 1) The number of white blood cells and platelets decreased after FU-PGA insertion. The degree was proportional to the duration and amounts inserted. The change in the number of red blood cells varied slightly. 2) Light microscopically, slight changes were noted at 168 hours in the 3 disk insert group (900mg/kg). Mild fatty change and hepatocyte degeneration around the central veins of the liver were noted, with vacuolar degeneration in the proximal convoluted tubules of the kidney. 3) Electron microscopically,the liver showed focal increases of lipid droplets in the hepatocytes, and irregular nuclear membrane with focal nucleolar segregation of the fibrillar and granular elements. Also the double membranous structure of the hepatocytes and Kupffer cells was widened with bleb formation. The kidney showed wide separation of the nuclear double membrane in the proximal convoluted tubular cells and mesangial cells, with vacuolation and myelin figure formation in the mitochondria of the proximal convoluted tubular cells, at 72 hours and 168 hours in the 2 to 3 FU-PGA insert groups. The heart showed focal loss of cristae,vacuolation and myelin figure formation in the mitochondria of the 2 to 3 FU-PGA insert groups. In conclusion, despite the large amont of FU-PGA inserted, the histopathological changes in the liver, kidney and heart were slight, and consonant with the very low amount of 5-fluorouracil concentrations detected in the liver, kidney and heart. The above results suggest that the FU-PGA composite can serve as a new device for releasing drugs in a controlled manner and easily targeted to intraperitoneal organs. This device can improve the efficacy of intraperitoneal chemotherapy for gastric cancer.

To evaluate the in-vivo effects of mitomycin-C-polyglycolic acid composite(MMC-PGA) the disk: shaped composite were implanted into the peritoneal cavity of the Sprague-Dawley rats. The pathologic changes were examined at various time points up to 12 weeks. Initially the soft tissue around the inserted disks showed capillary congestion at 3 days. Inflammatory infiltrates with foreign body giant cells appeared from the 2nd week and reached peak response at 6-8 weeks. These reaction diminished prominently at 12 weeks. No specific pathologic change was found in the liver, the kidneys, and the heart. The above results suggest that the MMC-PGA composite can serve as a new device for intraperitoneal chemotherapy of various types of cancers.

Three studies under the project were performed this year and presented in this report : a review of taxonomic literatures and the construction of distribution maps by Woo-Tchul Lee, pollen morphology by Sang-Tae Lee and Moo-Yeol Kim, and wood anatomy by Woong-Young Soh and Kwan-Bae Jeon.

물질남용 치료프로그램 후 재범여부에 대한 예비적 추적조사 연구

연구목적: 본 연구는 물질사범에게 시행되는 수강명령 프로그램의 효과를 재범률을 중심으로 살펴보고자 한 것이다. 방 법: 이 연구의 대상집단은 보호관찰소에서 의뢰받은 물질남용자집단이다. 이들은 법원으로부터 보호관찰, 수강명령, 치료명령, 사회봉사 등을 부과받았다. 총 104명의 대상자집단을 치료프로그램을 이수한 수강군과 비수강군으로 나누었으며 이들에 대한 재범률을 조사하였다. 결 과: 프로그램을 이수한 수강군이 비수강군에 비해 재범률이 낮았다(p<.05). 또한 단기 수강군과 장기수강군의 재범률의 차이를 조사하였는데 대상자 집단의 수가 적기 때문에 장기 수강군의 효과가 통계적으로 입증되지는 않았다. 결 론: 우리는 물질남용자에 대한 정책이 보다 교육적으로 변화할 것을 본 논문을 통하여 제시하려 하였으며 정부 및 법무부는 물질남용자에게 교육과 치료를 제공해주어야만 한다. Objectives: Using recidivism rate, we investigated the outcome after our substance abuse treatment program had been implemented. Methods: Our target population was substance abuse criminals referred by probational office. They either received the parole and probation order, treatment order or social service order from the court. We divided 104 substance abuse criminals into treatment group and non-treatment group. We examined their recidivism rate. Results: We reached a conclusion that treatment group had lower recidivism rate than non-treatment group(p<.0.5). We examined the effectiveness of short-term and long-term programs. However, no effectivess of long-term program was found because the sabject number was too small. Conclusion: We suggest that the strategies for substance abuse should be changed to more educative ones. The Government and Ministry of Justice must provide education and treatment to the substance abuse criminals.

Heat transfer in soil has been interested recently in fields of air conditioner, heat loss from buried pipes and especially floor heating in agricultural greenhouse for better production of the crops. In this study, temperature distributions from an electrically heated pipe buried under ground have been measured by thermocouples and analyzed by numerical solution of two-dimensional heat conduction equation with a commercial program, NISAⅡ. From the study, the temperature distributions in the soil were relatively sensitive to the thermal diffusivity (α) but almost invariable to surface heat transfer coefficient(h). When thermal diffusivity, α is equal to 0.543×10??㎡/s, there are good agreements between experimental data and numerical solutions. The value of thermal diffusivity is almost upper limit of those from several references according to wetness of soil. Therefore, it can be deduced the condition of soil was fully wetted.

This study was to determine the type of spoken material that can be heard best in a noisy environment There were 6 subjects of graduate school students of P. university. Intelligibility were three different types of tests to measure intelligibility in a noisy environment. We needed a radio and desks. The radio located behind them about 12 inches from the back of their head. 1. The length of the word influnced its Intelligibility by the longer the word, the more readily it is correctly identified. 2. The listener is able to identify a long word by hearing portion of it, particularly familiar, highly probable word, whereas missing one syllable of a short word is more likely to prevent the identification of the entire word. 3. Influencing the Intelligibility of speech in noise is the context in which the words are heard. 4. Situations may arise with a noise level so greut that Certain speech sounds may be confused. 5. We have to make good biomechanical listening environment for Intelligibility in a noisy environment. 6. We can prevent a noisy environment to use earplug and to getrid of noisy material

For that reason, this study is the evaluation and analysis on the contents to sports tourism information in web-site of municipal government. The result of this study indicate that web-sites of municipal government with a large amount of sports tourism information. The amount of information to sports tourism infra in web-sites of municipal government is a different based on municipal government and The information to type of sports tourism in web-sites of municipal government is a different based on municipal government On the other hand, the five dimensions of the web contents: the level of convenience for navigation, simplicity of the webpage structure, substantiality in the information content, information quality, and additional customer service is a different based on municipal government. The sports tourism information in web-site of municipal government indicates an actual means available ultimately developing local economy in local area and realizing more early the value creation in the tourism market. The purpose this study boils down to this, in order to effetely service of sports tourism information, municipal government should be organization to the sports tourism information and the rich to the contents and also web-site of municipal government should be examined continuously in future as well.
