        일반논문 : 식민지 청년의 이동과 성장의 임계 ―이태준의 『사상의 월야』와 우줘류의 『아시아의 고아』 비교연구

        이 글은 제국-식민지 체제기 식민지인의 자기 구축의 논리와 존재 방식을 구명하기 위해 동아시아 비교문학연구의 관점에서 식민지 조선과 타이완 청년의 이동과 성장의 과정을 서사화하고 있는 이태준의 『사상의 월야』와 우줘류의 『아시아의 고아』를 대상으로 논의를 전개하였다. 두 작품은 모두 식민지 청년의 자기 주조의 드라마로, 이 드라마의 플롯을 추동하는 원동력은 그들의 ‘이동’에 있다. 『사상의 월야』에서 이송빈의 입신출세를 위한 이동은 야만에서 문명으로, 무지에서 계몽으로의 진화의 과정이자, 식민지 조선의 지방에서 경성을 거쳐 제국 일본의 도쿄로 入社하는 과정이었다. 그것은 식민지 조선 청년의 단선적 이동의 양상과 회로를 압축적으로 보여준다. 『아시아의 고아』에서 후타이밍의 일본 유학과 중국 대륙으로의 진출 또한 입신출세의 욕망을 실현하기 위한 것이었다. 하지만 그의 이동은 입신출세의 욕망이라는 환상 속에서 무의식적으로 마주하기를 거부했던 식민지 타이완인으로서의 자기와 대면하게 되는 역설적인 결과를 낳았다. 한편, 『사상의 월야』에서 부채의식과 애정결핍에 휩싸인 ‘식민지 고아 청년’ 이송빈의 욕망의 기제로서 ‘과학’ 이 등장하고, 그러한 과학만이 성공을 약속할 수 있다는 확신 속에 자기를 재구축하는 동력으로 작동한다. 문학을 통한 낭만적 사랑에 휩싸였던 청년은 과학을 통해 이성적인 주체로 자기를 갱신하게 된다. 하지만 문학에서 과학으로의 전환이 그의 성장을 달성 가능하게 하지는 않는다. 식민지 조선인 남성 청년의 성장은 언제나 제한적이거나, 미완의 상태로 남아 있게 마련이었다. 『아시아의 고아』에서 후타이밍은 결여의 상태를 극복하기 위해 지속적으로 욕망하고 있었지만, 그러한 욕망의 좌절 속에서 다시금 결여의 상태에 직면하였다. 그는 입신출세를 위해 일본과 중국으로 이동하였지만 결국 타이완으로 돌아올 수밖에 없었고, 일본인으로서도 중국인 으로서도 새로운 자기를 구축할 수 없었다. 결국 그가 자기 회의와 자기 혐오의 상태에서 광란에 휩싸였던 것은 모두 ‘식민지 타이완 청년’의 성장이 처음부터 불가능한 것이었다는 점을 보여준다. 이처럼 제국-식민지 체제의 새로운 질서와 가치는 식민지 청년들로 하여금 자기 계발과 성장을 통한 새로운 자기 구축이 가능하다는 환상을 증폭시켰지만, 결국 그들의 성장은 미완이나 불가능의 상태로 남게 되었다. 그런 점에서 이들 이동서사=성장소설은 20세기 전반 동아시아 근대의 상징적 형식으로, 식민지적 불안을 증거하고 있다. The purpose of this paper is to examine the logic of self-establishment and existence method of colonized people during the period of empire-colony system. Accordingly, discussion was unfolded for Lee Tae-jun``s The Moonlight Night of Thought and Wu, Zhuo-Liu``s Orphan of Asia narrating the process of mobility and growth of young man of colonized Josen and Taiwan from a perspective of East Asian comparative literature study. The two novels are a drama of self-establishment of colonized young man the driving force of the plot of the dram is their mobility. In The Moonlight Night of Thought, Lee, Song-bin``s mobility for success in life was a process of evolution from barbarism to civilization and from ignorance to enlightenment, as well as a process of entering Tokyo of Japan Empire from rural area of colonized Joseon through Keijo. It compressively shows the aspect and circuit of unilinear mobility of a young man of colonized Joseon. In Orphan of Asia, Hu, Tai-ming``s study abroad in Japan and entering the mainland China was also a mobility of realization the desire of success in life. However, their mobility brought paradoxical result of facing oneself as a Taiwanese of colonized Taiwan that he refused to unconsciously face in his fantasy of the desire of success in life. In The Moonlight Night of Thought, science appears as a mechanism of desire of Lee, Song-bin, ``a young orphan man of colony`` cloaked in sense of debt and lack of affection, and it functions as the driving force of re-establishing himself based on a conviction that only science can promise him his success. The young man who was cloaked in romantic love through literature is renewing himself as a rational being through science. However, transition from literature to science is not making his growth possible. It is inevitable that the growth of a young man in colonized Joseon was always limited or remained incomplete. In Orphan of Asia, Hu, Tai-ming who continuously desired to overcome his state of deficiency ended up once again facing a state of deficiency in the midst of frustration of such desire. Although he migrated to Japan and China to pursue success in life, he had no choice but to return to Taiwan in the end and he was not able to newly establish himself neither as a Japanese nor a Chinese. The fact that he was ultimately cloaked in madness from the state of self-doubt and self-hatred shows that the growth of a Taiwanese young man of colonized Taiwan was impossible to begin with. The new order and value of empire-colony system amplified a fantasy among colonized young man that their new self-establishment would be possible through self-improvement and growth. However, their growth remained incomplete or in an impossible state. In this sense, mobile narratives=bildungsroman are clearly expressing colonial uneasiness in a symbolic form of modernity of the 20th century East Asia.

      • 太谿穴의 臨床 活用에 대한 文獻考察

        Literally, the mean of Tae-gye is highest brook. And on the basis of the acupuncture theory, Tae-gye point is the Soo earth point and source point of the Kidney Channel as well. In addition, Tae-gye point is one of the Yang-Returning Nine points. We were trying to study bibliographically on the Tae-gye point because Tae-gye point can be used very broadly across the symptoms in the theoretical aspect described above. As a results, we found out that according to the classical books of acupuncture, Tae-gye point is entering point of the Meridian Water as a source point and can be used at both Kidney-Sufficient Syndrom and Kidney-Deficient Syndrom. And Tae-gye can be applied to the disease of kidney or bladder that is urogenital symtoms, Also, Tae-gye is an useful option of tooth-ache, asthma, indigestion, constipation, edema etc whose cause is related with decrease of Kidney ki.

      • Poster Session : PS 0831 ; Upper GI Tract : Clinical Factors to Predict Angiographically Detectable Non-Variceal Upper Gastrointestinal Bleeding in Patients Refractory to Endoscopic Treatment

        Background: Non-variceal upper GI bleeding (NVUGIB) is a common medical problem that has signifi cant association with morbidity and mortality. Angiographic detection and subsequent transarterial embolization (TAE) is a primary treatment option when medical and endoscopic treatments fail. We investigated clinical factors that could affect the success of the angiographic detection and prognosis after TAE in patients with NVUGIB refractory to endoscopic therapy. Methods: A retrospective analysis of the clinical data was done in patients with failed endoscopic treatment who underwent angiography for the treatment of acute NVUGIB between May 2002 and May 2013. Patients were divided into detection or non-detection groups according to the presence of bleeding stigmata in angiographic fi nding. Rebleeding defi ned as subsequent bleeding event within 7 days and mortality within 30days were analyzed as outcome parameters after TAE following detection in angiography. Results: A total 45 patients 37 (male, mean age, 65.9±14.9 years) were analyzed and classifi ed as a detection group (n=25, 55.5%) and non-detection group (n=20, 44.6%). Peptic ulcers were the most common cause of refractory NVUGIB. Larger transfusion amount (5.7±3.9 unit vs. 3.5±2.8 unit; P=0.03), prolonged aPTT level (34.2±17.3 sec vs. 21.8±13.8 sec; P=0.01) and short time interval between last endoscopy and angiography (17.5±25.9 hours vs. 34.3±59.5 hours; P=0.04) were found to be signifi cant factors for predicting angiographic detection. TAE was performed in all patients detected in angiography. Rebleeding (44%) was significantly associated with higher Rockall score (8.3±1.5 vs. 6.6±2.4; P=0.046) and mortality (12%) was signifi cantly associated with higher Rockall score (9.3±0.6 vs. 7.1±2.2; P=0.002) and higher level of BUN (55.3±47.4 vs. 27.6±17.4; P=0.01). Conclusions: Clinical characteristics associated with angiographic detection in patients with NVUGIB refractory to endoscopic therapy were severe bleeding, bleeding tendency and early angiographic intervention. The Rockall score is useful parameter for predicting rebleeding and mortality after TAE.

        Objectives: Although there have been several reports that described characteristics for young age stroke, information regarding very young age (18–30 years old) has been limited. We aimed to analyze demographic factors, stroke subtype, and 3-month outcome in acute ischemic stroke patient who have relatively very young age in multicenter stroke registry. Methods: We evaluated all 122 (7.1%) consecutive acute ischemic stroke (within 7 days after symptom onset) patients aged 18 to 30 from 17,144 patients who registered in multicenter prospective stroke registry, 1997 to 2012. Etiology was classified by Trial of Org 10172 in Acute Stroke Treatment criteria. Stroke severity was defined as National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and stroke outcome was defined by modified Rankin scale (mRS) at 3 months after index stroke. Results: The mean age of all included patients was 25.1±3.7 years and 76 patients (62.2%) were male. The median NIHSS at admission was 4. Considering stroke subtype, 37 patients (30.3%) had stroke of other determined etiology (SOD), 37 (30.3%) had undetermined negative evaluation (UN) and 31 (25.4%) had cardioembolism (CE) were frequently noted. After adjusting age, sex and variables which had P<0.1 in univariable analysis (NIHSS and stroke subtype), CE stroke subtype (odds ratio, 4.68; 95% confidence interval, 1.42–15.48; P=0.011) were significantly associated with poor functional outcome (mRS≥3). Conclusion: In very young age ischemic stroke patients, SOD and UN stroke subtype were most common and CE stroke subtype was independently associated with poor discharge outcome.

      • Study on the Elastic Characteristics of Living Cells using Atomic Force Microscope Indentation Technique

        In this work, imaging and study of elastic property of the living cell was performed. The motivation of this work was to seek the possibility of exploiting Young’s modulus as a disease indicator using Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) and also to gain fundamental understanding of cell mechanics for applications in medical nanorobots of the future. L-929 fibroblast adherent cell was used as the sample. Imaging condition in cell culturing media environment was done in very low speed (20 μm/s) compared to that in the ambient environment. For measuring the Young’s modulus of the living cell, AFM indentation method was used. From the force-distance curve obtained from the indentation experiment the Young’s modulus could be derived using the Hertz model. The Young’s modulus of living L-929 fibroblast cell was 1.29 ± 0.2 kPa.

        맨드라미(Celosia cristata L.) 꽃 메탄올 추출물로부터 용매분획된 분획물의 항산화활성

        맨드라미꽃의 식품학적 이용가능성을 확인해 보고자 항산화성분 및 항산화활성에 대해 검토하였다. 맨드라미꽃의 항산화성분과 활성은 메탄올 추출물과 순차적 용매분획물에 대해 측정하였으며, 메탄올 추출물과 hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, butanol 및 물 분획물의 추출수율은 각각 23.33, 10.27, 20.00, 13.63, 17.55 및 38.54%였다. 맨드라미 꽃 메탄올 추출물의 총 polyphenol, flavonoid 및 tannin 함량은 각각 6.80 ㎎ GAE/g ME, 2.34 ㎎ CE/g ME 및 6.23 ㎎ TAE/g ME였다. 순차적 용매분획물 중 butanol 분획에서 각각 14.92 ㎎ GAE/g SF, 5.44 ㎎ CE/g SF 및 13.38 ㎎ TAE/g SF로 함량이 높았다. 총 proanthocyanidin 함량은 44.72 ㎍ CE/g ME였고 순차적 용매분획물은 각각 42.47, 44.43, 50.03, 49.12 및 41.80 ㎍ CE/g ER로 용매간 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다. 맨드라미꽃의 메탄올 추출물의 DPPH 및 ABTS radical 소거활성은 각각 5.24 및 10.70 ㎎ TE/g ME였고 butanol 분획에서 각각 12.53 및 21.09 ㎎ TE/g SF로 활성이 높았다. 메탄올 추출물의 SOD 유사활성은 7.96 unit/mL로 나타났고 hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, butanol 및 물 분획물은 각각 4.56, 6.15, 8.07, 12.36 및 5.21 unit/mL로 butanol 분획의 활성이 높았다. 맨드라미꽃 추출물의 항산화성분과 항산화활성 간에 높은 정의 상관관계를 보였고 맨드라미꽃 추출물이 체내 및 식품에서 유익한 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 생각된다. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the antioxidant contents and activities of solvent fractions from methanolic extracts of cockscome flowers. The yield of methanolic extracts from cockscome flowers was 23.33%, whereas those of its solvent fractions (hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, butanol, and water) were 10.27, 20.00, 13.63, 17.55, and 38.54%, respectively. Total polyphenolic, flavonoid, tannin, and proanthocyanidin contents of methanolic extracts (ME) were 6.80 ㎎ gallic acid equivalent (GAE)/g ME, 2.34 ㎎ catechin equivalent (CE)/g ME, 6.23 ㎎ tannic acid equivalent (TAE)/g ME, and 44.72 ㎍ CE/g ME, respectively. The highest total polyphenolic, flavonoid, and tannin contents of solvent fractions were 14.92 ㎎ GAE/g solvent fraction (SF), 5.44 ㎎ CE/g SF, and 13.38 ㎎ TAE/g SF in the butanol fraction, respectively. The total proanthocyanidin contents were 42.47, 44.43, 50.03, 49.12, and 41.80 ㎍ CE/g SF, respectively. The DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities from cockscome flowers were 5.24 and 10.70 ㎎ Trolox equivalent (TE)/g ME, respectively. The highest DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities of the solvent fractions were 12.53 and 21.09 ㎎ TE/g SF in the butanol fraction, respectively. SOD-like activities of methanolic extracts from cockscome flowers were 7.96 units/mL, whereas those of its solvent fractions were 4.56, 6.15, 8.07, 12.36, and 5.21 units/mL, respectively. The results of this study show that notable antioxidant activities in cockscome flowers have significant health benefits.

      • Targeting Multiple Myeloma Cell Death with Polyphenol EGCG

        (‐)‐Epigallocatechin 3‐gallate (EGCG) is a potent antioxidant polyphenol in green tea that acts as an anticancer agent via both direct and indirect pathways. Although the relationship between EGCG’s anticancer effects and its antioxidant activity is not fully understood, it is known that EGCG stimulates production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which induce oxidative stress leading to cell death. In IM9 multiple myeloma cells, EGCG acted in a dose‐ and time‐dependent manner to induce apoptotic cell death. Among the antioxidant enzymes expressed in IM9 cells, levels of peroxiredoxin (Prdx) V were selectively and significantly reduced by EGCG. Moreover, the ROS scavenger NAC completely inhibited EGCG‐induced apoptosis and PrdxV reduction, while overexpression of PrdxV, but not a PrdxVC48S mutant, protected IM9 cells from EGCG‐induced apoptosis. EGCG‐induced reductions in cell viability and PrdxV levels were also observed in primary CD138+ multiple myeloma cells from patients. These results suggest that PrdxV is a key target via which EGCG mediates its anticancer effects.
