        양천모(Chun Mo Yang),조영구(Young Koo Cho),임병오(Byung O Rim) 한국유화학회 2000 한국응용과학기술학회지 Vol.17 No.1

Zn_χFe_(3-χ)O_4(0.003<X<0.08) was synthesized by air oxidation method for the decomposition of carbon dioxide. We investigated the characteristics of catalyst, the form of methane by gas chromatograph after decomposition of carbon dioxide and kinetic parameter. Zn_χFe_(3-χ)O_4(0.003<X<0.08) was spinel type structure. The surface areas of catalysts(Zn_χFe_(3-χ)O_4(0.003<X<0.08)) were 15~27 ㎡/g. The shape of Zn_0.003Fe_2.997O_4 was sphere. The optimum temperature for the decomposition of carbon dioxide into carbon was 350℃. Zn_0.003Fe_2.997O_4 showed the 85% decomposition rate of carbon dioxide and the degree of reduction by hydrogen(δ) of Zn_0.003Fe_2.997O_4 was 0.32. At 350℃, the reaction rate constant and activation energy of Zn_0.003Fe_2.997O_3.68 for the decomposition of carbon dioxide into carbon were 3.10 psi^(1-α)/min and 0.98 kcal/mole respectively. After the carbon dioxide was decomposed, the carbon which was absorbed on the catalyst surface was reacted with hydrogen and it became methane.

        오수나 ( Su-na O ),오인영 ( In-young O ) 한국미용예술경영학회 2011 미용예술경영연구 Vol.5 No.1

In this research, we selected and observed the features of facial ratio of female entertainers that worked in early 1990s and late 2000s who recognized by adult women as ‘beauty-face’. Participants were 189 women living in Seoul and Kyung-gi area, and they are interested in beauty-related blog and other website. And we measured and calculated average facial ratios of 10 female entertainers with their pictures (1 picture for each). As result, women with ages of 40s recognized that actress who has 'beauty- face’ in late 2000s have short ‘middle face’ and ‘lower face’ compared to actress of late 1990s, and they have wider ‘Endocanthion-endocanthion’ but shorter ‘Cheilion-cheilion’. These factors make them to look younger. Moreover, they have short and narrow lower jaw and this is one of typical features of young-looking face. Therefore, the ‘beauty- face’, that thought about women has the factors of young-looking face. This is because ‘young-looking face’ became the ideal of beauty face in our society and it reflected to women's awareness of beauty-face.

Suicide cancer gene therapy using pore-forming toxin, streptolysin O.

        Yang, Wan Seok,Park, Sue-O,Yoon, A-Rum,Yoo, Ji Young,Kim, Min Kyung,Yun, Chae-Ok,Kim, Chul-Woo American Association for Cancer Research, Inc 2006 Molecular Cancer Therapeutics Vol.5 No.6

<P>We cloned the streptolysin O gene from the Streptococcus pyogenes genome and tested the possibility of using it as an anticancer reagent. Transient transfection of the streptolysin O gene efficiently killed 293T cells after 12 hours of transfection as determined by lactate dehydrogenase release and propidium iodide uptake. No caspase activity was observed and necrosis was prominent during streptolysin O-induced cell death. Biochemical analysis of streptolysin O protein revealed that the deletion of only 5 amino acids from the COOH-terminal region of streptolysin O, which is essential for cholesterol binding activity, abolished its cell-killing activity, whereas the NH2-terminal region was more resilient, i.e., up to 115 amino acids could be deleted without changing its cell-killing activity. We generated a streptolysin O-expressing adenovirus and injected it into human cervical cancer cell-derived tumors grown in a nude mouse model. Twenty-one days postinjection, the average size of tumors in the streptolysin O adenovirus-injected group was 29.3% of that of the control PBS-treated group. Our results show that the genes of pore-forming toxins, like streptolysin O protein, have the potential to establish a novel class of suicide gene therapeutic reagents.</P>

      • Global emissions of HFC-143a (CH3CF3) and HFC-32 (CH2F2) from in situ and air archive atmospheric observations

        O&,apos,Doherty, S.,Rigby, M.,,hle, J.,Ivy, D. J.,Miller, B. R.,Young, D.,Simmonds, P. G.,Reimann, S.,Vollmer, M. K.,Krummel, P. B.,Fraser, P. J.,Steele, L. P.,Dunse, B.,Salameh, P. K.,Harth, Copernicus GmbH 2014 Atmospheric chemistry and physics Vol.14 No.17

<P>Abstract. High-frequency, in situ observations from the Advanced Global Atmospheric Gases Experiment (AGAGE), for the period 2003 to 2012, combined with archive flask measurements dating back to 1977, have been used to capture the rapid growth of HFC-143a (CH3CF3) and HFC-32 (CH2F2) mole fractions and emissions into the atmosphere. Here we report the first in situ global measurements of these two gases. HFC-143a and HFC-32 are the third and sixth most abundant hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) respectively and they currently make an appreciable contribution to the HFCs in terms of atmospheric radiative forcing (1.7 ± 0.04 and 0.7 ± 0.02 mW m−2 in 2012 respectively). In 2012 the global average mole fraction of HFC-143a was 13.4 ± 0.3 ppt (1σ) in the lower troposphere and its growth rate was 1.4 ± 0.04 ppt yr−1; HFC-32 had a global mean mole fraction of 6.2 ± 0.2 ppt and a growth rate of 1.1 ± 0.04 ppt yr−1 in 2012. The extensive observations presented in this work have been combined with an atmospheric transport model to simulate global atmospheric abundances and derive global emission estimates. It is estimated that 23 ± 3 Gg yr−1 of HFC-143a and 21 ± 11 Gg yr−1 of HFC-32 were emitted globally in 2012, and the emission rates are estimated to be increasing by 7 ± 5% yr−1 for HFC-143a and 14 ± 11% yr−1 for HFC-32. </P>

        Young Jin Kim,Yong Man Lee,Hyang Mok Lee,O Ok Park 한국화학공학회 1994 NICE Vol.12 No.5

N/A An investigation of the biodegradable polymers based on starch has been accomplished. Starch needs to be modified before blending with low density polyethylene(LDPE) because of its hydrophilicity. Three kinds of modification methods were applied to obtain the compatibility to starch-LDPE blends. The first one was the esterification of the hydroxyl group of starch with acetic anhydride. The second was the copolymerization of actylonitrile and styrene onto starch. The last was the esterification reaction of the hydroxyl group of starch with three kinds of ionomers. The tensile strength, % elongation, Young`s modulus, and shear viscosities of blends of the modified starch and LDPE were examined. Ionomer-treated starch showed better compatibility with LDPE to give better performances than other blends.

      • Characteristics of greenhouse gas concentrations derived from ground-based FTS spectra at Anmyeondo, South Korea

<P><p><strong>Abstract.</strong> Since the late 1990s, the meteorological observatory established in Anmyeondo (36.5382°<span class='thinspace'></span>N, 126.3311°<span class='thinspace'></span>E, and 30<span class='thinspace'></span>m above mean sea level) has been monitoring several greenhouse gases such as CO2, CH4, N2O, CFCs, and SF6 as a part of the Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) Program. A high resolution ground-based (g-b) Fourier transform spectrometer (FTS) was installed at this observation site in 2013 and has been operated within the frame work of the Total Carbon Column Observing Network (TCCON) since August 2014. The solar spectra recorded by the g-b FTS cover the spectral range 3800 to 16<span class='thinspace'></span>000<span class='thinspace'></span>cm−1 at a resolution of 0.02<span class='thinspace'></span>cm−1. In this work, the GGG2014 version of the TCCON standard retrieval algorithm was used to retrieve total column average CO2 and CH4 dry mole fractions (XCO2, XCH4) and from the FTS spectra. Spectral bands of CO2 (at 6220.0 and 6339.5<span class='thinspace'></span>cm−1 center wavenumbers, CH4 at 6002<span class='thinspace'></span>cm−1 wavenumber, and O2 near 7880<span class='thinspace'></span>cm−1 ) were used to derive the XCO2 and XCH4. In this paper, we provide comparisons of XCO2 and XCH4 between the aircraft observations and g-b FTS over Anmyeondo station. A comparison of 13 coincident observations of XCO2 between g-b FTS and OCO-2 (Orbiting Carbon Observatory) satellite measurements are also presented for the measurement period between February 2014 and November 2017. OCO-2 observations are highly correlated with the g-b FTS measurements (<i>r</i>2 = 0.884) and exhibited a small positive bias (0.189<span class='thinspace'></span>ppm). Both data set capture seasonal variations of the target species with maximum and minimum values in spring and late summer, respectively. In the future, it is planned to further utilize the FTS measurements for the evaluation of satellite observations such as Greenhouse Gases Observing Satellite (GOSAT, GOSAT-2). This is the first report of the g-b FTS observations of XCO2 species over the Anmyeondo station.</p> </P>

Insulation Coating of Fe–Si–Cr Soft Magnetic Powder by Selective Oxidation

        Jae‑Young Park,Kwangsuk Park,Bosung Seo,Julien O. Fadonougbo,Tae‑Wook Na,Ki Beom Park,Hyeon‑Tae Im,Nong‑Moon Hwang,Hyung‑Ki Park 대한금속·재료학회 2022 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.28 No.7

This study examines the insulation coating technology of Fe–Si–Cr powder via selective oxidation annealing, which oxidizeselements selectively by controlling the oxidation potential. The study calculated the oxidation driving force of Fe, Si, andCr, and conducted a thermodynamic analysis of oxidation and reduction conditions according to temperature and oxidationpotential. Based on the results, a selective oxidation annealing was performed in an atmosphere in which Fe is reduced andonly Si and Cr are selectively oxidized. The oxidation potential was controlled through the partial pressure ratio of hydrogenand water vapor. The XPS analysis results confirmed that a Si and Cr complex oxide layer formed on the powder surfaceafter the selective oxidation annealing. Afterward, withstanding voltages were analyzed to evaluate the insulation property. Then, the withstanding voltage of the powder applying the selective oxidation annealing increased significantly comparedto that of the initial powder. Further analysis showed that the powder annealed in an air atmosphere had a significantly lowersaturation magnetic flux density than the initial powder, while the powder applying the selective oxidation annealing hadonly a slightly reduced saturation magnetic flux density.
