Output Feedback Control for Local Power System Stability based on Sum of Square Programming
Yong Wan,Hongxing Tian 제어로봇시스템학회 2017 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2017 No.10
This paper studies local power system stability by proposing a sum of square (SOS)-based iterative algorithm which achieves both the Lyapunov function construction and the output feedback control design. This algorithm does not contain any linearization process and the original trigonometric nonlinearities are preserved. Further, only measurable relative speed is needed to design excitation controller. Simulation result verifies the effectiveness of the designed controller.
Two-Stage Articulated Hand Interaction for Virtual Assembly Simulation
Yongwan Kim,Wookho Son,Jinah Park 제어로봇시스템학회 2008 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2008 No.10
Virtual assembly simulation which refers to the verification process of digital mockup in product development lifecycle is one of the most promising topics in virtual reality applications. In the virtual assembly simulation, inaccurate hand interaction is an obstacle to natural hand interaction with virtual environments. The crucial interaction problems include unrealistic hand motion such as penetration and frictionlessness, lack of visual feedback and limited accuracy in hardwares. In this paper, we present the delicate hand interaction system which intelligently uses both heuristic and physics-based approach using a new glove device.
Validity of black hole complementarity in the BTZ black hole
Gim, Yongwan,Kim, Wontae Elsevier 2018 Physics letters: B Vol.776 No.-
<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Based on the gedanken experiment for black hole complementarity in the Schwarzschild black hole, we calculate the energy required to duplicate information in the BTZ black hole under the assumption of absorbing boundary condition and its dual solution of the black string, respectively, in order to justify the validity of the no-cloning theorem in quantum mechanics. For the BTZ black hole, the required energy for the duplication of information can be made fairly small, whereas for the black string it exceeds the total mass of the black string, although they are related to each other under the dual transformation. So, the duplication of information might be possible in the BTZ black hole in contrast to the case of the black string, so that the no-cloning theorem could be violated for the former case. To save the duplication of information for the BTZ black hole, we perform an improved gedanken experiment by using the <I>local</I> thermodynamic quantities near the horizon rather than those defined at infinity, and show that the no-cloning theorem could be made valid even in the BTZ black hole. We also discuss how this local treatment for the no-cloning theorem can be applied to the black string as well as the Schwarzschild black hole innocuously.</P>
Unruh effect of nonlocal field theories with a minimal length
Gim, Yongwan,Um, Hwajin,Kim, Wontae North-Holland Pub. Co 2018 Physics letters. Section B Vol.784 No.-
<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The nonlocal field theory commonly requires a minimal length, and so it appears to formulate the nonlocal theory in terms of the doubly special relativity which makes the speed of light and the minimal length invariant simultaneously. We set up a generic nonlocal model having the same set of solutions as the local theory but allowing Lorentz violations due to the minimal length. It is exactly corresponding to the model with the modified dispersion relation in the doubly special relativity. For this model, we calculate the modified Wightman function and the rate of response function by using the Unruh–DeWitt detector method. It turns out that the Unruh effect should be corrected by the minimal length related to the nonlocality in the regime of the doubly special relativity. However, for the Lorentz-invariant limit, it is shown that the Wightman function and the Unruh effect remain the same as those of the local theory.</P>

In this paper, a flexible wireless power receiving system is proposed for wearable device applications. The proposed system is designed with printable component configuration to be integrable to textile material. While the defected ground structures(DGSs) are utilized for planar printable filter designs, direct impedance matching technique is considered for flexible circuit performance. The proposed system has been implemented on a flexible substrate with a thickness of 5 mils, and experimented for power conversion efficiencies and converted voltages. In order to evaluate the hardware flexibility, the system performance are measured a bended circuit board at a radius of curvature of 5 cm. The system performance is analyzed for the degradation due to the curvature. The proposed system has shown the excellent capability of far-field wireless power transfer systems in flexible device environments.
