Delay-dependent Stabilization of Singular Systems with Multiple Internal and External Incommensurate Constant Point Delays

        Yong-Fang Xie,Wei-Hua Gui,Zhao-Hui Jiang 대한전기학회 2008 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.6 No.4

In this paper, the problem of delay-dependent stabilization for singular systems with multiple internal and external incommensurate constant point delays is investigated. The condition when a singular system subject to point delays is regular independent of time delays is given and it can be easily test with numerical or algebraic methods. Based on Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional approach and the descriptor integral-inequality lemma, a sufficient condition for delay-dependent stability is obtained. The main idea is to design multiple memory less state feedback control laws such that the resulting closed-loop system is regular independent of time delays, impulse free, and asymptotically stable via solving a strict linear matrix inequality (LMI) problem. An explicit expression for the desired memory less state feedback control laws is also given. Finally, a numerical example illustrates the effectiveness and the availability for the proposed method.

      • MiRNA-15a Mediates Cell Cycle Arrest and Potentiates Apoptosis in Breast Cancer Cells by Targeting Synuclein-γ

        Li, Ping,Xie, Xiao-Bing,Chen, Qian,Pang, Guo-Lian,Luo, Wan,Tu, Jian-Cheng,Zheng, Fang,Liu, Song-Mei,Han, Lu,Zhang, Jian-Kun,Luo, Xian-Yong,Zhou, Xin Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.16

Background: Recent studies have indicated that microRNA-15a (miR-15a) is dysregulated in breast cancer (BC). We aimed to evaluate the expression of miR-15a in BC tissues and corresponding para-carcinoma tissues. We also focused on effects of miR-15a on cellular behavior of MDA-MB-231 and expression of its target gene synuclein-${\gamma}$ (SNCG). Materials and Methods: The expression levels of miR-15a were analysed in BC formalin fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) tissues by microarray and quantitative real-time PCR. CCK-8 assays, cell cycle and apoptosis assays were used to explore the potential functions of miR-15a in MDA-MB-231 human BC cells. A luciferase reporter assay confirmed direct targets. Results: Downregulation of miR-15a was detected in most primary BCs. Ectopic expression of miR-15a promoted proliferation and suppressed apoptosis in vivo. Further studies indicated that miR-15a may directly interact with the 3'-untranslated region (3'-UTR) of SNCG mRNA, downregulating its mRNA and protein expression levels. SNCG expression was negatively correlated with miR-15a expression. Conclusions: MiR-15a has a critical role in mediating cell cycle arrest and promoting cell apoptosis of BC, probably by directly targeting SNCG. Thus, it may be involved in development and progression of BC.

The effect of cyfluthrin on testis inhibin B in rats and the intervention of Lycium barbarum polysaccharide

        Guo Xin,Xie Yong-Xin,Guo Chen,Wei Jing-Lin,Yang Hui-Fang 대한독성 유전단백체 학회 2021 Molecular & cellular toxicology Vol.17 No.2

Background In recent years, studies have shown that cyfluthrin is harmful to the reproductive system. Lycium barbarum polysaccharide may be a protective agent. Objective To investigate the effect of cyfluthrin (Cy) on testosterone B (inhibin B, INHB) in male rats and the intervention of Lycium barbarum polysaccharide (LBP). Results Compared with the control group, the mRNA and protein expression levels of INH α and INH βB in the testis tissue decreased, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The LBP intervention group can significantly increase the expression level, and the difference is statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion The decrease of INHα and INHβB expression caused by Cy exposure indicates that Cy has a toxic effect on the testis of rats, and the addition of LBP has a certain protective effect on the testis of rats. Decentralized Robust H∞ Output Feedback Control for Value Bounded Uncertain Large-scale Interconnected Systems

        Zhao-Hui Jiang,Yong-Fang Xie,Wei-Hua Gui,Can Huang 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2010 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.8 No.1

In this paper, decentralized robust H∞ output feedback control problem for large-scale interconnected system with value bounded uncertainties in the state, control input and interconnection matrices is investigated. A new bounded real lemma for the large-scale interconnected systems is derived by Lyapunov stability theory and linear matrix inequality method. Based on the new bounded real lemma, a sufficient condition expressed as matrix inequalities for the existence of a decentralized robust H∞ output feedback controller is obtained. The controller which enables the closed-loop large-scale system robust stable and satisfies the given H∞ performance is designed through a homotopy iterative method. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Influence of CeO2 morphology on the catalytic oxidation of ethanol in air

        Guilin Zhou,Baoguo Gui,Hongmei Xie,Fang Yang,Yong Chen,Shengming Chen,Xuxu Zheng 한국공업화학회 2014 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.20 No.1

Nano-CeO2 catalysts of different shapes were synthesized at different hydrothermal crystallizationtemperatures from an alkaline aqueous solution. X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electronmicroscope (TEM), and H2 temperature-programmed reduction (H2-TPR) were used to study thesynthesized nano-CeO2 catalyst samples. The catalytic properties of the prepared nano-CeO2 catalystsfor the catalytic oxidation of ethanol in air were also investigated. TEM analysis showed that CeO2nanorod and nanocube catalysts have been synthesized at hydrothermal crystallization temperatures of373 K and 453 K, respectively. XRD results showed that the synthesized nano-CeO2 catalysts have similarcubic fluorite structures. H2-TPR results indicated that CeO2 nanorod and nanocube catalysts exhibitdifferent reduction behaviors for H2 and that the nanorod catalyst has better low-temperature reductionperformance than the nanocube catalyst. Ethanol catalytic oxidation results indicated that oxidation andcondensation products (including acetaldehyde, acetic acid, CO2, and ethyl acetate) have been producedfrom the prepared catalysts. The ethyl acetate and acetic acid can be ignited by ethanol at lowtemperature on the CeO2(R) catalyst to give low catalytic combustion temperature for ethyl acetate andacetic acid molecules. CeO2 nanorods gave ethanol oxidation conversion rates above 99.2% at 443 K andCO2 selectivity exceeding 99.6% at 483 K, while CeO2 nanocubes gave ethanol oxidation conversion ratesof about 95.1% until 508 K and CO2 selectivity of only 93.86% at 543 K. CeO2 nanorod is a potential lowcostand effective catalyst for removing trace amounts of ethanol to purify air.

Profiling Gene Expression During Gland Morphogenesis of a Glanded and a Glandless Upland Cotton

        Ying-Fan Cai,Min Chen,Quan Sun,Yong-Fang Xie,Sheng-Wei Li,Jian-Chuan Mo,Ming-Feng Jiang,You-Lu Yuan,Yu-Zhen Shi,Huai-Zhong Jiang,Zheng Pan,Yun-Ling Gao,Peng-Sheng Ye,Hua-Lan Zeng 한국식물학회 2009 Journal of Plant Biology Vol.52 No.6

The pigment gland is an important character of the Gossypium plant. With the aim of identifying genes involved in pigment gland morphogenesis in cotton, gene expression during pigment gland morphogenesis in Chuan 2802, which is glanded both in seed and plant, and a glandless line N5 was profiled using Affymetrix Cotton microarray. The results showed that there were 564 differentially expressed genes greater than twofold during gland morphogenesis. About 60.2% of these genes shares similarity with known genes on GenBank and about 39.8% with no functional description in the database. These described genes may play roles in defense response, response to oxidative stress, peroxidase activity, and the other metabolic pathways. The KEGG Orthology-Based Annotation System indicated that these above twofold expressed genes involved seven biochemical pathways on KEGG. These findings suggest that a complicated regulation is associated with pigment gland morphogenesis and the associated defense response including gossypol biosynthesis in cotton.

      • Soluble Expression of Recombinant Human Smp30 for Detecting Serum Smp30 Antibody Levels in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Patients

        Zhang, Sheng-Chang,Huang, Peng,Zhao, Yong-Xiang,Liu, Shu-Yan,He, Shu-Jia,Xie, Xiao-Xun,Luo, Gou-Rong,Zhou, Su-Fang Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.4

Senescence marker protein 30 (SMP30), a hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) associated antigen, was earlier shown by our research group to be highly expressed in HCC paracancerous tissues, but have low levels in HCC tissues. In order to detect anti-SMP30 antibody in serum of HCC patients, we established pET30a-SMP30 and pColdIII-SMP30 expression systems in Escherichia coli. However, the expression product was mainly in the form of inclusion bodies. In this research, we used several combinations of chaperones, four molecular chaperone plasmids with pET30a-SMP30 and five molecular chaperone plasmids with pColdIII-SMP30 to increase the amount of soluble protein. Results showed that co-expression of HIS-SMP30 with pTf16, combined with the addition of osmosis-regulator, and a two-step expression resulted in the highest enhancement of solubility. A total of 175 cases of HCC serum were studied by ELISA to detect anti-SMP30 antibody with recombinant SMP30 protein. Some 22 were positive and x2 two-sided tests all showed P>0.05, although it remained unclear whether there was a relationship between positive cases and clinical diagnostic data.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of transitional care by a nurse-led multidisciplinary team (MDT) on clinical outcomes and quality of life of patients with ankylosing spondylitis. Methods: A randomized control study design was used. Subjects were allocated randomly to an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group received intensive transitional care by a nurse-led MDT, whereas the control group received routine nursing care. Disease activity, spinal mobility, comprehensive function, health service utilization, and quality of life were assessed at the baseline and at six months with the Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Metrology Index, the Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index (BASDAI), the Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Functional Index (BASFI), a health service utilization questionnaire and version 2 of the Short Form-36 health survey. Results: Compared with the baseline, the BASDAI, BASFI, emergency visits, hospitalizations, hospitalization days, and bodily pain, vitality, mental health, total score, and average score of version 2 of the Short Form-36 health survey were improved in the experimental group (p < .05), whereas only bodily pain, vitality, and role-emotional were improved in the control group (p < .05). At six months, the experimental group exhibited significantly more improvement on the BASDAI, BASFI, hospitalizations, all domains except Role-physical as well as total score and average score (p < .05) compared with the control group. Conclusion: A MDT-based nurse-led transitional care improves clinical outcomes and quality of life of patients with ankylosing spondylitis. Future research should be carried out on modes of follow-up and family support.

      • MAGED4 Expression in Glioma and Upregulation in Glioma Cell Lines with 5-Aza-2'-Deoxycytidine Treatment

        Zhang, Qing-Mei,Shen, Ning,Xie, Sha,Bi, Shui-Qing,Luo, Bin,Lin, Yong-Da,Fu, Jun,Zhou, Su-Fang,Luo, Guo-Rong,Xie, Xiao-Xun,Xiao, Shao-Wen Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.8

Melanoma-associated antigen (MAGE) family genes have been considered as potentially promising targets for anticancer immunotherapy. MAGED4 was originally identified as a glioma-specific antigen. Current knowledge about MAGED4 expression in glioma is only based on mRNA analysis and MAGED4 protein expression has not been elucidated. In the present study, we investigated this point and found that MAGED4 mRNA and protein were absent or very lowly expressed in various normal tissues and glioma cell line SHG44, but overexpressed in glioma cell lines A172,U251,U87-MG as well as glioma tissues, with significant heterogeneity. Furthermore, MAGED4 protein expression was positively correlated with the glioma type and grade. We also found that the expression of MAGED4 inversely correlated with the overall methylation status of the MAGED4 promoter CpG island. Furthermore, when SHG44 and A172 with higher methylation were treated with the DNA demethylating agent 5-aza-2'-deoxycytidine (5-AZA-CdR) reactivation of MAGED4 mRNA was mediated by significant demethylation in SHG44 instead of A172. However, 5-AZA-CdR treatment had no effect on MAGED4 protein in both SHG44 and A172 cells. In conclusion, MAGED4 is frequently and highly expressed in glioma and is partly regulated by DNA methylation. The results suggest that MAGED4 might be a promising target for glioma immunotherapy combined with 5-AZA-CdR to enhance its expression and eliminate intratumor heterogeneity.

Molecular Cloning and Expression of cDNA Encoding the Cysteine Proteinase Inhibitor from Upland Cotton

        Ming-feng Jiang,Sheng-wei Li,Min Chen,Ying-fan Cai,Yong-fang Xie,Biao Li,Quan Sun,Huai-zhong Jiang,Zheng Pan,Yun-ling Gao,You-Lu Yuan,Yu-zheng Shi 한국식물학회 2009 Journal of Plant Biology Vol.52 No.5

A cDNA encoding a novel cysteine proteinase inhibitor (CPI) was isolated from a gland mutant Xiangmian-18 of upland cotton during the pigments gland forming stage. The cDNA comprises 378 bp and encodes 125 amino acid residues with molecular mass of 13.8 kDa. It contains the conserved motif of cysteine protease inhibitors and belongs to the cystatin superfamily (Gln- Val-Val-Ala-Gly). The deduced amino acid sequences of the domains are highly similar to the normal upland cotton (96.8%). SDS-PAGE and western hybridization analysis showed that the expressed recombinant protein was recombinant CPI. The inhibitory activity of recombinant CPI was 46 u/μg which was measured by inhibiting the protease activity of papain. RT-PCR results indicated that the expression level of developing gland stage was higher than that of undeveloped gland stage.
