This paper describes various characteristics of the new compounds for cable jackets and model cables advanced in waterproof performance in order to essentially solve the problems of underground (URD) distribution class power cable failures. Several compounds were manufactured by the inclusion of additives to base resins available in Korea and tested for basic property, mechanical and electrical characteristics. Two model cables were created by using the compounds determined in the test as being the most appropriate for new structured model cable jacket material. The waterproof performance and mechanical strength of the new cable jackets were verified by applicable tests. As a result, MDPE and LLDPE compounds were superior as cable jackets in both mechanical and electrical characteristic aspects when compared with conventional PVC. In addition, the model cables composed of the new compounds based on MDPE showed good quality results in the water permeability test.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of Gamitaeeumjowi-tang(GTT) prescribed by doctors of korean(KMD) medicine on liver function. Methods For this single-center, prospective, observational study, we enrolled patients who wished to take GTT prescribed by KMD for losing weight. sixty(60) patients took GTT for 33.8 days and completed questionnaires. Liver function tests(LFTs) were performed bofore(first test) and after each GTT treatment(finish test). For LFT, T-bil, ALP, AST, ALT were measured. Result There were no significant changes in LFT data between the first and finish tests. At first test, levels of test seven(7) patients were more than twice of normal range of upper limit, levels of eight(8) patients were more than normal range of upper limit, less than twice of normal range of upper limit. At last test, levels of nine(9) patients were more than normal range of upper limit, less than twice of normal range of upper limit. Conclusion The current study showed that ingestion of GTT prescribed by KMD did not increase the frequency of abnormal LFTs, at least in the short term.
Chlorinated 2,1,3-Benzothiadiazole-Based Polymers for Organic Field-Effect Transistors

<P>The vital role of introducing chlorine (Cl) atoms onto conjugated polymers, which affects their semiconducting properties, is not yet well understood. A series of donoracceptor polymers based on dichlorinated-2,1,3-benzothiadiazole (2ClBT) and four different donor moieties with various conjugation lengths (thiophene (T), thieno[3,2-b]thiophene (TT), 2,2'-bithiophene (DT), and (E)-2-(2-(thiophen-2-yl)vinyl)thiophene (TVT)) were synthesized and used in organic field-effect transistors (OFETs). The structureproperty relationship associated with the 2ClBT-based polymers was thoroughly investigated via a range of techniques, and it was found that a change in the conjugation length of the main backbone could alter energy levels, morphology, and optoelectronic properties, which had a significant effect on the charge transport property. P2CLBT-TVT exhibited superior qualities relative to the other samples with respect to the degree of uniform film-forming ability and molecular organization and charge carrier transport, which resulted in the best hole mobility of 0.147 cm(2) V-1 s(1). Furthermore, we also emphasize that for all the polymers no substantial changes were observed in the OFET transfer-curve slopes during 200 testing cycles, indicating excellent operational stability. This study demonstrates that the design of semiconducting polymers possessing Cl atoms was effective at improving operating stability in the OFETs manufactured from them.</P>
