Case Report : Ileal Mucosa-Associated Lymphoid Tissue (MALT) Lymphoma with a Large-Cell Component That Regressed Spontaneously

( Yohsuke Makino ),( Hidekazu Suzuki ),( Toshihiro Nishizawa ),( Kaori Kameyama ),( Tadakazu Hisamatsu ),( Hiroyuki Imaeda ),( Makio Mukai ),( Toshifumi Hibi ) The Editorial Office of Gut and Liver 2010 Gut and Liver Vol.4 No.1

Reported herein is a case of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma of the terminal ileum with a large-cell component, which regressed spontaneously. To the best of our knowledge, only five cases of spontaneously regressing MALT lymphoma have been reported in the English-language literature, and all of these cases were low-grade lymphomas. Spontaneous regression of a MALT lymphoma with a high-grade component is very rare. The present case suggests that MALT lymphoma cells have a reversible nature, even in the presence of a high-grade component. (Gut Liver 2010;4:117-121)

      • Philosophical Dialogue and Intellectual Virtues

Yohsuke Tsuchiya,Mai Miyata 강원대학교 인문과학연구소 2015 Journal of Humanities Therapy Vol.6 No.2

In this paper, we will argue that the philosophical dialogue employed in the pedagogy of Philosophy for Children (P4C) is a viable tool to cultivate children’s intellectual virtues. The education for thinking which P4C aims to realize is originally to nurture children to be reasonable independent thinkers. A reasonable independent thinker would also have to acquire some attitudes or character traits appropriate for an excellent cognizer, as well as various kinds of thinking skills. Therefore the P4C pedagogy should entail the cultivation of children’s intellectual virtues. According to Heather Battaly, there are three elements necessary for developing intellectual virtues: (1) imitation of exemplar, (2) repetition of practice, (3) explanation of exemplar’s action and motivation. Analyzing the curriculum and methodology of P4C, it turns out that the P4C pedagogy effectively incorporates these three elements. Therefore it is plausible to assume that P4C contributes to the cultivation of children’s intellectual virtues. On the basis of these arguments, we will form the hypothesis that the P4C pedagogy would be an effective method of development of intellectual virtues. Finally, we will briefly explain the relevant psychological experimental research in order to verify this hypothesis.

Seven rules to avoid the tragedy of the commons

Murase, Yohsuke,Baek, Seung Ki Elsevier 2018 Journal of theoretical biology Vol.449 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Cooperation among self-interested players in a social dilemma is fragile and easily interrupted by mistakes. In this work, we study the repeated <I>n</I>-person public-goods game and search for a strategy that forms a cooperative Nash equilibrium in the presence of implementation error with a guarantee that the resulting payoff will be no less than any of the co-players’. By enumerating strategic possibilities for n = 3 , we show that such a strategy indeed exists when its memory length <I>m</I> equals three. It means that a deterministic strategy can be publicly employed to stabilize cooperation against error with avoiding the risk of being exploited. We furthermore show that, for general <I>n</I>-person public-goods game, <I>m</I> ≥ <I>n</I> is necessary to satisfy the above criteria.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> We propose strategies to stabilize cooperation in the iterated public-goods game. </LI> <LI> They can recover cooperation in the presence of implementation error. </LI> <LI> They are secured from repeated exploitation. </LI> <LI> They suppress neutral drift to unconditional cooperation. </LI> <LI> For an <I>n</I>-person case, the memory length of such strategies cannot be less than <I>n</I>. </LI> </UL> </P>

      • Development of Sensing Device for Plant Conditions Utilizing Lazer Speckle Method

( Takashi Fukushima ),( Yohsuke Inagaki ),( Kiyoshi Nagasuga ),( Kunio Sato ),( Naoyuki Higashi ),( Tomoaki Sato ) 한국농업기계학회 2018 한국농업기계학회 학술발표논문집 Vol.23 No.1

Japanese smart-agriculture (new agriculture for labor-saving and high-quality products by utilizing advanced technology such as a robot technology and ICT) has been promoted by Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. For Japanese smart-agriculture, several ambient conditions, such as temperature, humidity, soil moisture, CO2 concentration, and others are available to optimize the cultivation. To get higher quality than ever, it’s needed to utilize the information of plant conditions such as photosynthetic ability, transpiration rate and respiration activity. However, there are no devices sensing them in the field and at a low price. We focus on laser speckle method (LS) which can detect microscopic motion of the target object. The interference pattern of the light which scattered and reflected on the surface or the inside, was created on the image sensor when coherent light such as a laser is irradiated the target object. This pattern is generally referred to as “Speckle”. It has been reported that the speckle pattern would be also depended on the structure of surface or inner parts of the target object. LS would be able to distinguish the movement reflected physiological phenomenon of plant by analyzing speckle images. In other words, it could obtain the information of plant conditions utilizing LS. The ultimate goal of this study is to develop a new and inexpensive device utilizing LS for sensing plant conditions. Some techniques for analyzing fluctuation of the speckle pattern have been proposed. Fujii method (FM) and Generalized difference method (GD) were used in this study. Both are analysis method for speckle images to quantify the luminance fluctuation of each pixel on consecutive images. The characteristics of the former are that analysis speed is relatively fast, and it could also enable to analyze in low brightness. The latter would clearly distinguish large fluctuation parts. In this experiment of adding the water stress to the plant samples, it was examined whether the water stress can be detected by using LS or not, and which analysis method is suitable to detect plant conditions. Speckle images were obtained from the main vein and the mesophyll cells of the sample soybean’s leaf, under two conditions; water stress and no treatment. Water stress was added to sample soybean by cutting leafstalk. The speckle images were taken at every hour from 7 am to 7 pm. As results, it was confirmed that it is capable to detect the water stress by analyzing speckle images. Comparing results of water stress and no treatment, increasing of water stress after cutting leafstalk was detected by both FM and GD, and GD was able to detect earlier and accurately than FM did. And it would be required to improve better measurement conditions and analysis method from now on.

      • Stylized facts in social networks: Community-based static modeling

        Jo, Hang-Hyun,Murase, Yohsuke,,,k, Já,nos,Kerté,sz, Já,nos,Kaski, Kimmo Elsevier 2018 PHYSICA A-STATISTICAL MECHANICS AND ITS APPLICATIO Vol.500 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The past analyses of datasets of social networks have enabled us to make empirical findings of a number of aspects of human society, which are commonly featured as stylized facts of social networks, such as broad distributions of network quantities, existence of communities, assortative mixing, and intensity-topology correlations. Since the understanding of the structure of these complex social networks is far from complete, for deeper insight into human society more comprehensive datasets and modeling of the stylized facts are needed. Although the existing dynamical and static models can generate some stylized facts, here we take an alternative approach by devising a community-based static model with heterogeneous community sizes and larger communities having smaller link density and weight. With these few assumptions we are able to generate realistic social networks that show most stylized facts for a wide range of parameters, as demonstrated numerically and analytically. Since our community-based static model is simple to implement and easily scalable, it can be used as a reference system, benchmark, or testbed for further applications.</P>

      • Dynamic Stability of Liquid in a Spherical Tank Covered with Membrane under Vertical Harmonic Excitation

Chiba, Masakatsu,Murase, Ryo,Nambu, Yohsuke,Komatsu, Keiji The Society for Aerospace System Engineering 2015 International Journal of Aerospace System Engineer Vol.2 No.2

Experimental studies were conducted on the liquid sloshing characteristics in a spherical tank covered with a flexible membrane. A spherical acrylic tank with 145.2 mm in radius was used as a test tank, and it was half-filled with water. Silicon membranes with 0.2 mm thickness were used as a test membrane with plane or hemispherical types. The test tank was harmonically excited in a vertical direction by an electro-dynamic exciter. In this case, a parametric instability vibration comes up when the excitation frequency is twice the natural frequency. Parametric instability regions of natural modes were measured for three cases, i.e. liquid surface is free, covered with plane membrane and hemi-spherical membrane.

Analysis of water in Loy Yang brown coal using solid-state 1H NMR

        김현석,윤성호,Yusuke Nishiyama,Keiko Ideta,Jin Miyawaki,Yohsuke Matsushita,박주일,Isao Mochida 한국공업화학회 2013 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.19 No.5

1H spin-echo MAS NMR and 1H saturated spin-echo MAS NMR were applied to classify the water in Loy Yang coal. Adsorbed water was examined based on the proton spectra, in which four major portions were identified according to the moisture contents. Free water could be quantified by analyzing the proton free induction decays (FIDs) obtained using the 1H saturated spin-echo technique. By comparing the proton intensity of the C–H portion to the aromatic and N portion in the proton spectra, and by evaluating the FIDs, the water in Loy Yang coal could be classified.
