        Hardening of Steel Sheets with Orthotropy Axes Rotations and Kinematic Hardening

        Anisotropic work hardening of cold rolled low carbon steel sheets is studied. The experiments consist of two stage tensile prestraining and tensile tests. At the first prestraining, steel sheets are streteched along the rolling direction by 3% and 6% tensile strains. The second prestrains are at 0${\cric}$, 30${\cric}$, 60${\cric}$to the rolling directions by varying degrees. Tensile tests are performed on the specimens cut from the sheets after the two stage prestraining. A theoretical framework on anisotropic hardening is proposed which includes Hill's quadratic yield function, ziegler's kinematic hardening rule, and Kim and Yin's assumption on the rotation of orthotropy axes. The predicted variations of R-values with second stage tensile strain are compared with the experimental data.

      • DEAD-box RNA helicase DDX23 modulates glioma malignancy via elevating miR-21 biogenesis

        <P>Upregulation of microRNA-21 (miR-21) is strongly associated with glioma malignancy, but the regulatory mechanism that governs miR-21 biogenesis is unclear. Yin <I>et al.</I> demonstrate that the DEAD-box RNA helicase DDX23 promotes miR-21 biogenesis at the post-transcriptional level in glioma cells, and that DDX23 inhibition reduces glioma growth in mouse xenografts.</P><P> [Figure] </P><P>Upregulation of microRNA-21 (miR-21) is known to be strongly associated with the proliferation, invasion, and radio-resistance of glioma cells. However, the regulatory mechanism that governs the biogenesis of miR-21 in glioma is still unclear. Here, we demonstrate that the DEAD-box RNA helicase, DDX23, promotes miR-21 biogenesis at the post-transcriptional level. The expression of DDX23 was enhanced in glioma tissues compared to normal brain, and expression level of DDX23 was highly associated with poor survival of glioma patients. Specific knockdown of DDX23 expression suppressed glioma cell proliferation and invasion <I>in vitro</I> and <I>in vivo</I>, which is similar to the function of miR-21. We found that DDX23 increased the level of miR-21 by promoting primary-to-precursor processing of miR-21 through an interaction with the Drosha microprocessor. Mutagenesis experiments critically demonstrated that the helicase activity of DDX23 was essential for the processing (cropping) of miR-21, and we further found that ivermectin, a RNA helicase inhibitor, decreased miR-21 levels by potentially inhibiting DDX23 activity and blocked invasion and cell proliferation. Moreover, treatment of ivermectin decreased glioma growth in mouse xenografts. Taken together, these results suggest that DDX23 plays an essential role in glioma progression, and might thus be a potential novel target for the therapeutic treatment of glioma.</P>

        Impact of Luxury Tax Policy on the Real Estate Market in Taiwan How Does the Implemented Luxury Tax Policy Affect the Real Estate Market Inflation in Taiwan?

        새 밀레니엄의 도래와 함께 찾아온 버블 경제를 따라, 수많은 내수 그리고 국제 경제의 하락이 있었고, 특정 국가의 세금 정책이 바뀌었고, 은행의 대출 정책이 변경되며 사람들은 유동 자산에 대한 확신을 잃으며 부동산 시장에 돈을 투자하는 경향을 보이게 되었다. 과거에는 조금 더 느슨하고 편안한 부동산 관련 세금 정책 덕분에, 많은 추측성 투자자들이 은행에서 대출 받은 돈으로 단기 부동산 투자를 했고 자신의 돈은 하나도 투자하지 않은 채 많은 수익을 냈다. 부동산 시장은 굉장히 빠르게 팽창했고, 이는 많은 사회적 문제를 야기했다 - 부동산이 실제 거주를 위한 것이 아닌 투기를 위한 것이 되자 많은 젊은 세대는 적당한 가격에 살 수 있는 집을 찾을 수가 없었다. 부익부 빈익빈이 심해졌다. 타국에서 적용 가능한 세금 정책을 검토한 대만 정부는 “특정 재화와 서비스에만 부과되는 세금” (일명 럭셔리세)를 2011년 6월 1일 도입했고, 이는 건물 또는 땅을 2년 이하로 보유하고 있었던 판매자에게 10에서 15퍼센트의 럭셔리세를 부과하는 것이었다. 입법의 목적은 부동산 가격의 안정 그리고 단기 투기성 부동산 거래를 줄이는 데 있었다. 우리가 수집한 통계에 따르면, 럭셔리세의 도입으로부터 지금까지는 럭셔리세의 도입이 부동산 시장에 영향을 끼치기는 하였지만, 아직 그리 큰 충격을 주지는 않았다. 그러므로 추가 수정이 필요하다. 이 글은 대만의 부동산 시장 변화의 큰 그림을 제공할 것이다. 부동산 시장의 배경으로부터 시작하여 문화, 럭셔리세 법안의 내용, 정부 발표문, 실제 시장 조사 내용 그리고 부동산 시장에 끼친 럭셔리세의 영향을 파악하기 위한 다른 국가와의 비교 그리고 추가 제안을 찾을 수 있을 것이다. Following the millennium bubbles, numerous regional and global economic downturns, specific country tax policy changes, and bank mortgage policy changes, people lost their confidence in liquid assets, and instead tended to put money into the housing market. In the old days, due to loose, relaxed, short-term real estate tax policy, many speculative investors used borrowed mortgage money from banks to purchase and sell real property within a short time and made huge profits without paying a penny from their own pockets. The housing market inflated rapidly which caused serious societal problems―when residential properties are not for living but are used as investment tools, young generations cannot find housing at a reasonable price. The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer, the wealth inequality widens. After examining other countries`s applicable tax policies, Taiwan government implemented “The Specifically Selected Goods and Services Tax Act” (so-called “luxury tax”) on June 1st, 2011, which imposed a 10- to 15-percent luxury tax on sellers who held buildings and land for a period of less than 2 years. The legislative purpose stabilization of housing prices and lowering the volume of speculative short term real estate transactions. According to the statistics we collected from the implementation of the luxury tax to date, it is proven that the luxury tax does have some effects in the real estate market, but not a big impact yet. Therefore, further amendments are needed. This article will give a big picture of the real estate market change in Taiwan. Starting from the background of the real estate market, culture, luxury tax Act contents, government reports, real market surveys, and comparisons with other countries to summarize the impact of the luxury tax policy on the real estate market in Taiwan and further proposals.

      • Brain Perfusion CT검사 시 재구성 영상기법을 이용한 선량 감소 효과에 관한 연구

        목적 BrainPerfusion CT 검사 시 재구성영상기법을 이용한 피폭선량 감소와 영상분석을 통한 유용성을 알아보고자 한다. 대상 및 방법 본 연구를 위해 사용한 장비는 64-MDCT (LightSpeed VCT Xte, GE Healthcare, Milwaukee, USA)를 사용하였으며 영상획득은 BrainPerfusion CT검사 시 사용된 영상 매개 변수로 40mm Detector Coverage, 0.625 mm의 helical thickness이며 scan type은 helical shuttle mode, rotation time은 0.5sec로 설정하여 팬텀 실험과 동물 실험을 하였다. 획득된 Raw Data는 장비 자체에서 재구성을 하였고 재구성 방법으로는 ASIR(Adaptive Statistical Iterative Reconstruction, 이하 ASIR) 기법을 이용하였다. 선량 및 노이즈 측정은 Advantage Workstation(Version 4.4, GE, USA)을 이용하였으며 SPSS(12.0.1)의 paired T-test로 통계적 유의성을 검증하였다. 팬텀과 동물실험에서 노이즈 측정은 관전압을 80kVp로 고정, ASIR 수준을 10% 간격으로 0~100%로 변화시키면서 스캔하여 CT계수의 표준편차(SD)를 3회씩 측정한 후 평균값을 분석하였다. 팬텀과 동물실험의 선량 측정 방법은 노이즈 검사와 동일한 조건하에서 흡수선량을 10회 측정 후 평균값을 분석하였으며 동물실험의 경우 돼지머리의 뇌 중심부에 연필형 CT전용 ionization chamber를 삽입 후 측정하였다. 결과 팬텀과 동물실험의 노이즈 측정값은 각각 %에 28.20HU, 34.76HU, 10% 27.18HU, 35.15HU, 20% 25.86HU, 34.97HU, 30% 25.41HU, 35.91HU, 40% 24.15HU, 33.77HU, 50% 22.10HU, 31.84HU, 60% 20.32HU, 34.32HU, 70% 18.23HU, 33.90HU, 80% 16.65HU, 34.295HU, 90% 14.86HU, 36.65HU, 100% 14.38HU, 37.41HU로 측정되었으며 통계적 분석 결과 각각 p = 0.002(p < 0.05) p = 0.001(p < 0.05)로 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 팬텀과 동물실험의 선량 측정값은 각각 %일 때 11 mGy, 4mGy, 10% 9.1 mGy, 3.2mGy, 20% 8.4mGy, 3mGy, 30% 7.8mGy, 2.7 mGy, 40% 6.5mGy, 2.3 mGy, 50% 6.1 mGy, 2mGy, 60% 5.4mGy, 1.8mGy, 70% 4.7 mGy, 1.6mGy, 80% 4mGy, 1.3mGy, 90% 3.5mGy, 1.2mGy, 100% 3 mGy, 1 mGy로 측정되었으며 통계적 분석 결과 각각 p = 0.001(p < 0.05), p = 0.001(p < 0.05)로 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. ASIR수준을 10~100%까지 변화를 주어 두부 전문 판독의 2명(A, B)에게 두부 CT영상의 화질 평가 항목 중 영상정보 항목에 해당하는 내용을 점수화 하여 Kruskal-Wallis test를 이용하여 검정한 결과 A, B관찰자 모두 ASIR 수준이 40%일 경우 평균 순위 최저 6.0, 최고 11.0으로 평가되었으며 p=0.0278(p < 0.05)로 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 결론 임상에서 BrainPerfusion CT와 같이 피폭선량이 많은 검사의 경우 Filtered backprojection 재구성기법을 이용하는 대신 Iterative Reconstruction 기법을 적용하여 검사를 시행한다면, 영상화질의 큰 변화 없이 피폭선량의 감소 효과까지 기대할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. I. Purpose The usability through exposure dose reduction using the reconstruction image technique in the Brain Perfusion CT scan and image analysis tries to be examined. II. Meterial and Methods The equipment is for and using this research used 64-MDCT (LightSpeedVCTXte, GE Healthcare, Milwaukee, USA) and the image acquisition was 40 mm Detector Coverage and helical thickness of 0.625 mm with the image parameter used during the Brain Perfusion CT scan and it set as 0.5 sec and the helical shuttle mode and rotation time did the scan type about the phantom experiment and animal experiment. The obtained raw data reconstructed in the device itself and used ASIR (the Adaptive Statistical Iterative Reconstruction or less ASIR) technique as the reconfiguration method. A dose and noise measuring used the Advantage Workstation (Version 4.4, GE, USA) and verified the statistical significance with the paired T-test of the SPSS (12.0.1). After diversifying VRMS a fixing and ASIR level into 80 kVp 10% into 0~100% and scanning and 3 times measuring the standard deviation (SD) of the CT count, the noise measuring analyzed an average in a phantom and animal experiment. In the same under condition as the noise examination, a dosimetry method of a phantom and animal experiment analyzed an average after 10 time measurement and after inserting the pencil CT exclusive ionization chamber in the case of the animal experiment in the pineal region of the pig head, it measured the absorbed dose. III. Result There was the difference in which the noise treasured value of a phantom and animal experiment was measured by 0% 28.20HU, 34.76HU, 10% 27.18HU, 35.15 HU, 20% 25.86 HU, 34.97 HU, 30% 25.41 HU, 35.91 HU, 40% 24.15 HU, 33.77HU, 50% 22.10HU, 31.84HU, 60% 20.32HU, 34.32 HU, 70% 18.23HU, 33.90HU, 80% 16.65HU, 34.295HU, 90% 14.86HU, 36.65HU, 100%, 14.38HU, 37.41HU and which the statistical analyzed result notes statistically with the p = 0.002 (p < 0.05), p = 0.001 (p < 0.05). There was the difference which was measured by 0% 11mGy, 4mGy, 10% 9.1mGy, 3.2mGy, 20% 8.4mGy, 3mGy, 30% 7.8mGy, 2.7mGy, 40% 6.5mGy, 2.3mGy, 50% 6.1 mGy, 2mGy, 60% 5.4mGy, 1.8mGy, 70% 4.7mGy, 1.6mGy, 80% 4mGy, 1.3mGy, 90% 3.5mGy, 1.2mGy, 100% 3 mGy, 1 mGy and which the statistical analyzed result the dose measured value of a phantom and animal experiment notes statistically with a p = 0.001 (p < 0.05) and p = 0.001 (p < 0.05). IV. Conclusions In a clinical, the exposure dose uses the Filtered backprojection reconstruction technique like the Brain Perfusion CT for many inspections, and instead by applying the iterative reconstruction technique, an inspection is enforced. If it is the case, it is considered to expect the diminished effect of the exposure dose without the big change of the display-image quality.

      • Safeguarding Millimeter Wave Communications Against Randomly Located Eavesdroppers

        <P>Mm-wave offers a sensible solution to the capacity crunch faced by 5G wireless communications. This paper comprehensively studies physical layer security in a multi-input single-output mm-wave system, where multiple single-antenna eavesdroppers are randomly located. Concerning the specific propagation characteristics of mm-wave, we investigate two secure transmission schemes, namely maximum ratio transmitting beamforming and artificial noise (AN) beamforming. Specifically, we first derive closed-form expressions of the connection probability for both schemes. We then analyze the secrecy outage probability in both non-colluding eavesdroppers and colluding eavesdroppers scenarios. Also, we maximize the secrecy throughput under a secrecy outage probability constraint, and obtain optimal transmission parameters, especially the power allocation between AN and the information signal for AN beamforming. Numerical results are provided to verify our theoretical analysis. We observe that the density of eavesdroppers, the spatially resolvable paths of the destination and eavesdroppers all contribute to the secrecy performance and the parameter design of mm-wave systems.</P>

        Glycine- and GABA-mimetic Actions of Shilajit on the Substantia Gelatinosa Neurons of the Trigeminal Subnucleus Caudalis in Mice

        Shilajit, a medicine herb commonly used in Ayurveda, has been reported to contain at least 85 minerals in ionic form that act on a variety of chemical, biological, and physical stressors. The substantia gelatinosa (SG) neurons of the trigeminal subnucleus caudalis (Vc) are involved in orofacial nociceptive processing. Shilajit has been reported to be an injury and muscular pain reliever but there have been few functional studies of the effect of Shilajit on the SG neurons of the Vc. Therefore, whole cell and gramicidin-perfotrated patch clamp studies were performed to examine the action mechanism of Shilajit on the SG neurons of Vc from mouse brainstem slices. In the whole cell patch clamp mode, Shilajit induced short-lived and repeatable inward currents under the condition of a high chloride pipette solution on all the SG neurons tested. The Shilajit-induced inward currents were concentration dependent and maintained in the presence of tetrodotoxin (TTX), a voltage gated $Na^+$ channel blocker, CNQX, a non-NMDA glutamate receptor antagonist, and AP5, an NMDA receptor antagonist. The Shilajit-induced responses were partially suppressed by picrotoxin, a $GABA_A$ receptor antagonist, and totally blocked in the presence of strychnine, a glycine receptor antagonist, however not affected by mecamylamine hydrochloride (MCH), a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor antagonist. Under the potassium gluconate pipette solution at holding potential 0 mV, Shilajit induced repeatable outward current. These results show that Shilajit has inhibitory effects on the SG neurons of Vc through chloride ion channels by activation of the glycine receptor and $GABA_A$ receptor, indicating that Shilajit contains sedating ingredients for the central nervous system. These results also suggest that Shilajit may be a potential target for modulating orofacial pain processing.

      • An Electro Optical Honeycomb Networks-on-Chip based on a New Nonblocking Switch

        Network-on-Chip (NoC) is an emerging paradigm for communications within large VLSI systems implemented on a single silicon chip. However, the electronic network on chip design faces many problems like energy consumption, bandwidth and QoS. Compared with traditional electronic NoC, optical Network on Chip exhibits advantages of high-bandwidth, low latency and power dissipation. In this paper, a new 4×4 optical non-blocking switch is introduced on the basis of the latest development of nanophotonic technologies and of the prompt progress of optical integration technologies. The new approach can solve the problem of internal blocking with a fine symmetrical feature, while it needs the minimal number of resonators. Optical-loss budget under this architecture is also evaluated, calculated and compared with currently existing optical switches in this paper. An electro optical honeycomb network-on-chip is constructed based on the new switch architecture. It functions with low power dissipation and high bandwidth for the future network on chip.
