        유치열에서 Chlorhexidine Varnish와 Polyurethane Sealant의 Streptococcus mutans억제 효과에 대한 연구

        Numerous chemical agents have been developed to reduce the activity of cariogenic bacteria. Of these, chlorhexidine is acknowledged as the most effective. Gel and mouthrinse have been the traditional method of its application in the mouth. It has been reported that chlorhexidine varnish has prolonged inhibitory effect on the number of streptococcus mutans in saliva and plaque. Recently, chlorhexidine varnish and polyurethane sealant have been developed to promote prolonged anticariogenic effect of chlorhexidine. Products containing 10% chlorhexidine varnish and polyurethane sealant have been developed to prevent caries by reducing the number of streptococcus mutans in the oral cavity. The purpose of this study is to investigate the inhibitory effect of chlorhixidine varnish and polyurethane sealant on streptococcus mutans in the primary dentition. Children with primary dentition containing no active carious lesion were divided into two groups. To the experimental group(n=11), chlorhexidine varnish and polyurethane sealant ( Chlorzoin , Knowell Therapeutic Technologies, Inc. Canada.) was applied once a week for four weeks according to the manufacturer's instruction. Only oral prophylaxis was performed on the control group(n=7). Cariesactivity was measured after using Chlorzoin SM(Knowell Therapeutic Technologies, Inc. Canada.) to incubate streptococcus mutans before and 5, 12, 24 weeks after initial varnish application. The following results were observed.: 1. There was statistically significant decrease in the number of streptococcus mutans in the experimental group for 5 weeks(P<0.01), 12 weeks(P<0.05) after the initial application. but, by 24 weeks significant difference had disappeared. 2. As the inhibitory effect of chlorhexidine varnish and polyurethane sealant application is not everlastion, reapplication at 12-24 weeks should be needed.

        소아치과 영역에서 러버댐의 다양한 임상적 적용에 대한 증례보고

        Usage of the rubber dam has been advocated by countless number of dentists. The advantages of the rubber dam such as the following are well-known 1. Moisture control. 2. Improved field of vision. 3. Ease of approach. 4. Soft tissue retraction and Injury prevention. 5. Prevention of aspiration of materials or instruments. 6. Shortened chair time. 7. Induction of nasal breathing during administration of N₂O-O₂sedation. Recent reports indicate the rubber dam can protect the dental staffs from the infection when treating HBV or HIV positive patients. Also, impreved moisture control and freeing of both handes allowed by the rubber dam makes it very useful when bonding orthodontic brackets. This case study presents the various clinial application of the rubber dam on patients visiting SNUDH dept. of pediatric dentistry to emphasize the importance of its use in pediatric dentistry.

        REHABILITATION IN ECTODERMAL DYSPLASIA

        Ectodermal dysplasia is a specific syndrome characterized by a congenital dysplasia of one or more ectodermal structures and their accessory appendages, manifested primarily by hypohydrosis and gypondontia. Patient with this abnormality invariably manifest anodontia or oligodontia with frequent malformation of any teeth present. Since the alveolar process does not develop in the absence of teeth, there is a reduction from normal vertical dimension resulting in the protuberant lips. In the majority of this diseases, it is an X-linked recessive mendelian character, males being affected much more frequently than females. This paper show male twin ectodermal dysplasia with anodontia. There are 3 year 6 month old twins. They have one sister. She does not manifest this syndrome. Their parents apprehend that their sons should be laughed at by friends. There is no treatment for the condition, although, from dental standpoint, partial or full dentrues should be constructed for both functional and cosmetic purpose. First of all, psychological satisfaction of patient is most important.

        공기재생용 고온건식탈황제의 가압유동층 반응기에서의 사이클 성능실험

        고온고압 기포유동층 반응기에서 분무건조기로 성형제조한 아연계 탈황제(ZAC C)에 대하여 총 6회 황화-재생 반복실험을 500℃, 5atm 조건에서 수행하였다. 1% H_2S를 포함한 석탄모사가스를 반응기에 주입하여 황화반응을 시킨 결과 배출가스 중 H_2S 농도는 10ppmv 이하로 유지되었다. ZAC C의 황흡수력은 6회 황화반응 동안 각각 11.1, 10.9, 11.1, 11.1, 10.9, 10.5g S/100g sorbent으로 유지되어 초기 황흡수력을 유지하였다. 공기를 이용한 500℃ 재생반응에서 배출되는 SO_2의 최대농도는 양론적으로 이론값과 일치하였다. 재생반응에서 탈황제 층의 온도는 발열반응에 의해 500℃에서 최대 750℃까지 상승하였다. 연속 70시간 동안 유동층 반응기내에서 실시된 ZAC C 탈황제의 비산되어 유출된 양은 1.07%이고, 실험 후 탈황제의 크기와 조직특성의 변화도 적었다. 고온고압반응기 multi-cyclone 실험결과 ZAC C 탈황제는 이론 황흡수력의 50% 이상을 유지하였고, 공기를 사용한 500℃의 재생반응이 원활하고 완전히 이루어졌고, 황산염생성과 같은 부반응이 없었다. Two desulfurization-regeneration experiments for a spray-dried zinc-based sorbent(ZAC C) were performed at 500℃ and 5 atm in a fluidized-bed reactor(ID 0.097㎜) facility. The H_S concentration after each desulfurization run was maintained below 10 ppmv from a simulated coal gas of 1% H_2S. The estimated sulfur absorption capacities of ZAC C sorbent were 11.1, 10.9, 11.1, 11.1, 10.9, 10.5 g S/100g sorbent, and the sorption capacity of sorbent was maintained in spite of six times sorption experiments. The maximum SO_2 concentration in regeneration effluent gas agreed with a stoichiometric value of 500℃(ca. 14vol%). In regeneration run, the peak temperature of sorbent bed in the reactor reached up to 750 due to the vigorous exothermicity of regeneration reaction with neat air. While entrainment rate for 70h continuous run in fluidized-bed reactor is 1.07%, the size and the textural properties of ZAC C sorbent also show a little change. Multi-cycle tests in fluidized-bed show that ZAC C sorbent maintains over 50% of its theoretical sorption capacity during 70h run and regeneration reaction undergoes smoothly and completely without side reactions such as sulfate formation.

      • 한국산야생등줄쥐(Apodemus agrarius coreae)의 해마복합체에서 neuropeptide Y 면역반응세포에 관한 연구

        Neuropeptide Y(NPY) was first isolated from porcine brain. This discovery has lead some workers to study the distribution of this peptide in the central nervous system of various mammals. In this study the distribution pattern of neuropeptide Y-immunoreactive neurons was examined in the hippocampal complex of Striped field mouse in Korea(Apodemus agrarius coreae) Experimental animals were anesthesized with thiopental sodium and perfused with 4% paraformaldehyde through the left ventricle and the ascending aorta. The brains were removed and transferred 10%, 20% and 30% sucrose solution. Sections were cut on a cryostat into 40㎛-thick. The tissue was immunostained with free-floating and avidin-biotm complex(ABC) method. The results obtained in this study were summarized as followings. 1. The most of NPY-IR neurons in hippocampus proper were found in the polymorphic layer and a few was found in the pyramidal layer. 2. The process run vertically in the deep polymorphic layer and run parallel to corpus callosum in superficial polymorphic layer. 3. The shapes of neurons in hippocampus proper were varied of polymorphic, oval or round, and the nerve fibers were found in the molecular laver and the hippocampal fissure. 4. The highest density in number of NPY-IR neurons on dentate gyrus were found in hilar area of dentate gyrus. 5. The most of NPY-IR nerve fibers were found in molecular cell layer.

      • Effect of Epidermal Growth Factor on the Production of Cortisol, Thyroxine, and Prolactin in Fetal Rabbits

        Respiratory distress syndrome(RDS) is a major cause of death in premature neonates, and it is caused by the failure of morphological and biochemical lung maturation(synthesis and secretion of lung surfactant). It is known that cortisol, thyroxine, prolactin, epidermal growth factor(EGF), and estrogen accelerate the lung maturation. Cortisol and thyroxine are currently used in the antenatal treatment for the prevention of RDS in premature neonates. In order to evaluate the effect of EGF on the levels of cortsol, thyroxine, and prolactin, this study was undertaken. Phosphate buffered saline(PBS) with and without EGF was directly injected into the 25 days' gestational fetus in uterus. Blood was collected for the measurement of cortisol, thyroxine, and prolactin one day or two days after the injection. Body weights and lung weights were also measured. The results were as follows : 1. There was no significant difference in body weights and lung weights between PBS-treated group(control group) and EGF-treated group(experimental group), 24 hours and 48 hours after the injection. 2. 24 hours after the injection, the levels of cortisol were significantly increased in the BGF-treated group compared with those in the PBS-treated group. However 48 hours after the injection, there was no significant difference in the levels of cortisol between the two groups. The levels of thyroxine and prolactin in the EGF-treated group did not significantly differ from those in the PBS-treated group 24 hours and 48 hours after the injection. In conclusion, in vivo, the synthesis of cortisol may be affected by EGF treatment, which suggests that the action of EGF for lung maturation may be partially mediated by the increased endogenous levels of cortisol.

      • Adaptive Robotic Manipulation For Variable Loads

        本 論文은 適應基準모델을 使用하여 可變負荷下에서 로보트팔의 制御技法을 記述하였음 未知, 時變系의 파라미터 識別을 위하여 온라인으로 最小誤差自乘法을 使用하였으며, 各샘프린 期間마다 入力 및 出力자료에 의거 파라미터를 새로히 算出하고 基準모델 追從을 위한 콘트론入力을 Lyapnuv 安定條件에 의거 計算하였음. Vax11-780 電算機의 Simulation Program에 의거 提示된 알고리즘의 有用性을 立證하였음. The paper presents a technique for the control of the movements of robotic manipulators having variable loads by using an adaptive reference model. The complicated manipulator system is modeled by a set of time varying linear dinear discrete equations. Since the parameters of the system are unknown and time varying, a recursive least square error method is used to identify the parameters of the system on line. The parameters of the system and control scheme are updated and adjusted in each sampling period successively to perform the necessary control of the system to follow the reference model performance. In view of the inaccessibility to the states of the physical system, a partial state feedback control scheme is adopted. By proper adjustments of the control scheme, we have decoupled exponeatial decaying error characteristics, with which a fast approach of the manipulator movements to the reference model performance becomes possible. Computer simulaiion studies of a three joint robotic manipulator performed on a VAX 11-780 computer, illustrate the feaibility of the algorathm proposed.
