        Production and Characterization of Enzymes Involved in Chitin Catabolic Cascade from a Bacterial Strain Isolated from Soil

        The present study was aimed to isolate the bacteria producing chitinolytic enzymes including chitin deacetylase (CDA) from soil origin. About 24 bacteria were screened for their chitinolytic enzymes producing ability on the basis of colloidal chitin. Amongst one of the most potent isolates designated to JI-02 was further selected as the most prominent chitinolytic and CDAlike enzyme (CDA-X) producer based on the ability of deacetylation of an artificial substrate pNP-acetamilide. The maximum production of CDA-X in crude enzyme from JI-02 was observed in the presence of 1% colloidal chitin at 37°C and pH 6.4 after 120 h of incubation. Potent enzyme activity of CDA-X was determined toward pNP-acetamilide, demonstrating that optimal pH, temperature and ionic strength of the CDA-X were assessed to be 7.0, 52°C and 125 mM, respectively. Unexpectedly, Nacetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) was not fully converted by the action of CDA-X to glucosamine (GlcN) under the established conditions. Further study on enzyme activity toward chitin-oligosaccharides consisting of multi-N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc)n, n=2-5 may be necessary to elucidate the mode of action which requires the minimum size of (GlcNAc)n. However, our data suggest that CDA-X can convert chitin to chitosan with the maximum yield of approximately 0.08g/L during the fermentation of the strain in the presence of chitin. Furthermore, we found that crude enzyme showed the significant chitosanolytic activity. Taken together, our data suggest that the strain JI-02 may be a potential candidate as a particular strain for better understating of chitin catabolic pathway.

      • Korean Figure Skating Seen through Storytelling

        Purpose: We continue to speak of history. Especially, as a historical fact is talked with diverse forms and contents, it is satisfying people``s mental and cultural needs. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to consider a macroscopic context of Korean figure skating through making an individual``s microscopic history easy and interesting as if talking by applying the storytelling technique to re-illuminating the history of Korean figure skating. Method: To inquire into the history of storytelling while describing the history of Korean figure skating in those days based on a documentary research that is basically used in a study of history, the history of Korean figure skating was re-illuminated, which is understood more valuably and easily by utilizing the storytelling technique through the verbal statement of players and coaches who had been in the center of Korean figure skating at that time. Result: Our country showed a great interest even in winter sports while participating in the 5th Saint-Moritz Winter Olympics right after the independence, and dispatched a figure skating player for the first time to the 10th Grenoble Winter Olympics in 1968. However, the figure skating, which failed to make grade to speak of until 2008, was expelled to the event outside the public eye as the unpopular event. Kim Yeon-a``s appearance led to the suddenly rapid rise to the top popular event. Re-illumination could be made through storytelling as for the figure skating event that is difficult to be illuminated a historical value because of having no record in Olympics, Winter Asian Games, or World Championship. There was no medal of many international competitions. However, their effort and continuous challenge arranged an opportunity available for jumping into the most powerful country in figure skating from the wasteland of figure skating. Conclusion: A context of history, which flows as if talking, was caught by applying the storytelling technique to a research of history as if being made in a formal frame. Through this, a research of popular history is thought to be likely able to be developed more and more. A research of history through storytelling is appropriate especially for the event like figure skating that has difficulty in inquiring into history of event due to having no record of international competition.

      • 임부의 연령에 따른 보완대체요법에 관한 인식 태도 경험 비교 연구

        Purpose: This study aims to test if the age of pregnant women affects the perception, experience, and attitude towards complementary alternative therapy (CAT), by investigating the perception, experience, and attitude of pregnant women under the age of 35, and above 35 (Advanced Maternal Age). The study will 1) find the general characteristics of pregnant women under and over the age of 35 2) compare the perception, behavior, and experience of pregnant women under and over the age of 35, and 3) find the comparison of the perception, behavior, and experience according to the general characteristics of pregnant women under and over the age of 35. Method: The subjects of this study are composed of 44 women under the age of 35 and 44 women above the age of 35, totaling 88 pregnant women visiting midwiferies, obstetrics and gynecology, and baby fairs in Seoul and Gyeong-Gi area. Data for this study was collected from November 28, 2015 to January 6, 2016 for 40 days. The collected data analyzed mean, standard deviation, t test, ANOVA, and chi-square by using SPSS 23.0. Result Results show that there is a significant difference in the perception, attitude, and experience of the two-sample groups in the use of CAT. The question of “what is most necessary when applying CAT in a hospital clinical environment” for the perception criteria came out with the results of t=9.980, p<.05. For the attitude, results showed that the answers of pregnant women under the age of 35 displayed a more positive attitude towards CAT. (t=2.421, p<.05) Lastly, in the experience section, pregnant women under the age of 35 showed more CAT use than the other sample group. Conclusion Results have shown that there is a difference in the perception, behavior, and experience between the two sample groups. Therefore further research on the efficacy and the adverse effects of CAT needs to be done.

        한국예술가곡 효시에 관한 연구

        본 연구는 독일어권에서 비롯된 예술가곡 리트(Lied)의 한국적 전이과정을 통해 한국예술가곡의 효시를 규명하고자하는 목적이다. 예술가곡은 시문학과 음악의 합일된 예술장르로서 독일과 오스트리아를 포함한 독일어권에서 발달된 가곡으로, 시인의 시에 작곡가가 선율을 붙이고 이를 성악가가 부르는 음악 양식이다. 그 효시를 슈베르트의 `실 잣는 그레첸(Gretchen am Spinnrade)`로 비정하고 있다. 작곡가의 임무란 좋은 시를 널리 알리는 것이었기 때문에 음악은 시에 종속되어 있었다. 그러나 예술가곡은 상호매체성에 의한 문화융합결과물로서 시와 음악이 서로가 각기 독립된 예술이었던 상태로부터 벗어나 완전히 하나로 융합되면서 또 하나의 새로운 양식으로 탄생한다. 슈베르트 이후 가곡의 작곡자는 더 이상 시의 언어 음율을 선율적으로 고양시키는 낭음자가 아니라 가사에서 말로 표현될 수 없는 영역을 음악적으로 표출하는 시의 자유로운 해석자의 역할을 하게 된다. 음악을 단순히 시를 쉽게 이해하는 보조수단에 국한시킨 이전의 가곡미학을 극복하고자 하는 새로운 경향들이 나타나면서 이전까지 작법인 유절가곡이 아닌 통절 작곡 형식이 새롭게 떠오르기 시작하였다. 이렇게 완성된 예술가곡은 1835년경 이후부터 독일을 벗어나 다른 나라로도 전파되어, 각 나라의 음악적 특징에 맞는 독자성을 지니며 민족음악으로 자리잡는다. 그리하여 그 갈래의 하나가 한국에 이르게 된다. 독일 예술가곡의 개념과 정의 및 조건에 맞는 한국 최초의 예술가곡이 어떤 작품인가는 학자들의 견해에 따라 논란이 존재 한다. 그러나 이 관점은 예술가곡을 시와 음악의 등가의 결합을 전제로 보았을 때 우리 시문학사적 위상과 일치하는 시기이다. 한국 시문학사는 1930년대에 이르러서 성숙함이 묻어나면서 시인들은 창작 행위에 대한 확고한 자신의 색깔을 드러내기 시작했다. 이 시기에 전문적인 시인의 등장이 활발해지는데 이때 정지용을 대표적으로 꼽을 수 있다. 1932년 7월 동방평론 4호에 발표한 정지용의 시 `고향`에 작곡가 채동선이 곡을 붙였고, 채선엽이 독창을 맡았으며 반주는 김애식이 맡았다. 작곡가 채동선은 독일에서 정통으로 작곡을 공부하고 귀국하여 <고향>을 작곡하였고 시기적으로는 물론 예술가곡의 완성의 필요충분조건은 모두 갖춘 한국 최초의 예술가곡 그 효시로 비정할 수 있다. This study aims to clarify the beginning of the Korean art song by reviewing how the German art song "lied" was traditionally transferred and spread in Korea. As a genre of art that unites poetry and music, the art song was originally developed in German-speaking countries including Germany and Austria; the then composers put a melody on poems so that singers(vocalists) could sing the songs. Gretchen am Spinnrade by Franz Peter Schubert is considered the beginning of such a style of music. Since promulgating good poems was one of the composer`s missions then, music was viewed as subordinate to poems. As an outcome of cultural convergence through intermediality, however, the two independent forms of art, poetry and music, came to converge into a completely single genre, heralding a birth of a new music style. Since Shubert, composers were no longer a mere reciter exalting poems by putting melodies on rhythmical poetic language; instead, they served as a free interpreter of poems to express the sentiment beyond the lyrics musically. In an attempt to overcome the stereotype that regarded music simply as an aid to better understand poems, a new trend such as through-composed songs, away from traditional strophic songs, emerged. Those German art songs were widely disseminated beyond Germany since 1835, and took root in many areas as folk music combined with each country`s traditional musical hallmarks. Korea was no exception. With Korean art songs originated from Germany, scholars in the field have long disputed over which one is the first Korean art song that complied with the concept, definition, and conditions of the German lied. When we consider the art song as a fair combination of poetry and music, a hint can be found from the history of Korean poetry. Korean poetry began to mature in the 1930s with poets clearly expressing their own signature colors in their creations. Professional poets actively broke onto the art scene, and Ji-yong Jeong was one of them. Mr. Jeong released a poem titled "Home (Gohyang)" on No. 4 Dongbang Critique in July, 1932, and Dong-sun Chae, a composer, put a melody on it; later it was sung by Sun-yub Chae with the piano accompaniment by Ae-sik Kim. After studying composition officially in Germany, Dong-sun Chae returned to Korea and composed the song, meeting all of necessary and sufficient conditions of the German lied. In this sense, "Home (Gohyang)" can be regarded as the first Korean art song.

      • D-Amphetamine이 니코틴성 흥분작용에 의한 카테콜아민 분비작용에 미치는 영향

        본 연구의 목적은 d-arphetamine이 흰쥐의 적출부신 관류모델에서 니코틴 수용체 흥분에 의한 카테콜아민(CA) 유리작용에 미치는 영향을 검색하여 그 작용기전을 규명하고자 하였다. D-amphetamine은 흰쥐 부신정맥내로 60분간 관류시 d-amphetamine자체는 약한 CA 분비작용을 나타내었으나, d-amphetamine (30 μM)을 비롯한 강력한 neuronal nicotine 수용체 작용제인 cytisine (50 μM) 및 epibatidine (30 μM)에 의한 CA 유리작용을 처음 4-10분 동안만 유의하게 증강시켰다. 또한, d-amphetamine (30 μM)은 60분간 부신정맥 내로 관류한 상태에서 dihydropyridine L-형 칼슘통로 개방약물인 Bay-K-8644 (10 μM)과 세포질내 칼슘저장고에서 Ca^(2+) ATPase 억제제인 cyclopiazonic acid (10 μM)의 CA 유리작용을 처음 4분간만 유의하게 증강시켰다. 그러나, 고농도의 d-amphetamine (500 μM)은 상기한 모든 분비촉진제의 CA분비작용을 오히려 억제하였다. 이와 같은 연구결과로 보면, 흰쥐 관류 부신수질에서 d-amphetamine은 낮은 농도에서는 콜린성 니코틴 수용체 흥분에 의한 카테콜아민 분비반응을 증강시키지만, 고농도에서는 오히려 억제적으로 작용함을 시사한다. 따라서, d-amphetamine은 용량에 따라서 흰쥐 적출 관류부신수질의 니코틴 수용체의 작용제 및 길항제로 이중 작용(dual action)을 나타내는 것으로 생각된다. 이러한 d-amphetamine의 작용은 흰쥐 부신수질 크롬친화세포의 dihydropyridine계 L-형 칼슘통로의 활성화 및 세포 내 칼슘저장고로부터 칼슘유리작용과 관련성이 있는 것으로 사료된다. The purpose of the present study was to examine the effect of d-amphetamine on CA release evoked by nocotinic receptor stimulation from the isolated perfused model of the rat adrenal gland, and to establish its mechanism of action. D-amphetamine(30 μM), when perfused into an adrenal vein of the rat adrenal gland for 60 min, enhanced the CA secretory responses evoked by ACh (5.32 mM), nicotine (30 μM), cytisine (50 μM, a selective neuronal nicotinic Nn-receptor agonist) and epibatidine (30 nM, a selective neuronal nicotinic Nn receptor agonist) only for the first period (4~10 min), although it alone has weak effect on CA secretion. Moreover, d-amphetamine (30 μM) in to an adrenal vein for 60 min also augmented the CA release evoked by BAY-K-8644, an activator of the dihydropyridine L-type Ca^(2+) channels, and cyclopiazonic acid, an inhibitor of cytoplasmic Ca^(2+) ATPase only for the first peroid (4 min). However, in the presence rather inhibited the CA secretory responses evoked by the above all of secretagogues. Taken together, these experimental results suggest that d-amphetamine at a low concentration enhances the CA secretion from the rat adrenal medulla evoked by stimulation of cholinergic nicotininc receptors, but at a high concentration it rather inhibits them. It semms that d-amphetamine has dual action acting as both agonist and antagonist at nicotinic receptors of the isolated perfused rat adrenal medulla, which are might be dependent on the concentration. It is also thought that these actions of d-amphetamine are probably relevant to the activation of the dihydropyridine L-type Ca^(2+) channels located on the rat adrenomedullary chromaffin cell membrane and release of Ca^(2+) from the cytoplasmic store.

      • 대학생의 우울정도 : 간호학전공과 타전공대학생을 중심으로

        Purpose: This study was designed to investigate sample’s general characteristics and compare depression degree among sample’s general characteristics and students’ major(nursing vs. other major). Methods: The subjects consisted of 318 university students. Data was collected by self-reported questionnaires, which were constructed BDI score. Data was analyzed by the SPSS/PC WIN 19.0 program. Results: The depression of nursing students and other major students was not significantly different according to BDI score. Statistically significant difference was identified among sleeping. Conclusion: Specific study focused on the practice time should be done to confirm the depression of nursing major and other majors. Detailed support programs which specifically deal with sleeping should be developed to effectively reduce the harmful effects of individual vulnerability. Therefore, prevention and management system to reduce depression degree for university students is needed.

        『창작과 비평』과 김수영

        이 논문은 1960년대 『창작과 비평』 창간부터 80년 언론통폐합 조치에 의해 폐간될 때까지 김수영과 『창작과 비평』의 담론적 맥락화 양상 및 『창작과 비평』의 김수영 독해의 변화의 변곡점을 추적하고자 하였다. 『창작과 비평』과 김수영의 관계는 문학이념의 동질성을 공유하면서도 잡지의 문학이념이 변화되는 지점에서 김수영의 의미는 달리 해석되었다. 김수영은 살아있는 텍스트이면서 잡지의 문학이념의 의제를 생산하는 전략적 개념으로 활용되었다. 그 시기를 구분하여 의미화 과정을 포착하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 『창작과 비평』 창간부터 김수영이 작고하기 전까지 필진으로 활동하던 시기. 김수영은 백낙청의 잡지 창간 이념의 동질성을 공유하였다. 순수참여논쟁을 벗어나는 진정한 참여의 의미와 시인의 현실에 대한 소명의식을 강조하는 백낙청의 초기 비평은 김수영을 비평가와 번역가로 호출하게 한다. 이 시기 김수영은 숭고한 소명의식을 다하는 진정한 참여문학의 표본으로 정위된다.둘째, 김수영 사후부터 백낙청의 「시민문학론」이 게재된 69년 여름까지. 김수영은 참여시인에서 이상적 시민 시인으로 고평된다. 백낙청의 목적론적 진보주의는 ‘참’의 수사를 활용하면서 미래적 시민개념을 제출한다. 여기에 김수영의 타자적 사랑이 배치되면서 김수영은 이상적인 시민시인으로 등극하기에 이른다. 셋째, 1970년대 『창작과 비평』이 민족문학론을 전개하면서 김수영은 끊임없이 재호출되었다. 특히 모더니즘과 난해성을 비판의 표적이 되면서 김수영은 청산 안 된 모더니즘 시인, 반민중적 시인으로 배치되었다. 염무웅과 김지하는 전면 비판의 입장에서, 백낙청은 옹호와 비판이라는 양날의 구도 속에서 민중성 결여의 시인으로 재평가하였다. This study intended to examine the discursive contextualization of Soo-yeong Kim and 『Changjak and Bipyeong』 from the publication of the first issue of 『Changjak and Bipyeong』 in the 1960``s to the discontinuance in 1980 following the Measure for Forced Abolition and Amalgamation of the Press and trace the inflection points of the changes in the interpretation of Kim``s works in 『Changjak and Bipyeong』. 『Changjak and Bipyeong』 and Kim showed homogeneity for literary ideas until the literary ideas of the magazine changed when the meaning of Kim was interpreted differently. Kim was used as a strategic concept which is the living text producing topics for the literary ideas of the magazine. The following focuses on the signification process in different periods of time. First, when Kim was a member of the writing staff from the foundation of 『Changjak and Bipyeong』 to his death, Kim showed the homogeneity with Nak-cheon Paek``s idea for the foundation of the magazine. Paek``s initial criticism which discussed the true participation deviating from the dispute over pure participation and emphasized the sense of calling that the poet has toward reality calls Kim as critic and translator. In this period, Kim is defined as the example of true engagement literature who fulfills the loft sense of calling. Second, from the death to the summer of 1969 when Paek``s 「Civil Literature」 is published. Kim``s status elevates from participatory poet to ideal civil poet. Paek``s teleological progressiveness submits futuristic concept of citizen by using a rhetoric, ``True``, alongside Kim``s selfless love and Kim ascends to the position of ideal civil poet. Third, Kim continuous recurred while .Changjak and Bipyeong. developed the theory of national culture in the 1970``s. Particular, as modernism and esotericism became the target of criticism, Kim was considered as the surviving modernist and unpopular poet. Moo-woong Yeom and Ji-ha Kim were reevaluated as the poets who lack popularity in the aspect of overall criticism and Nak-cheong Paek, in the polarized aspect of protection and criticism.

        오장환 시에 나타난 ‘병든 몸’의 의미와 윤리적 신체성

        이 글은 오장환의 시세계에서 신체성이 핵심적인 내적 동력이며, 일관된 시적 방법이라는 차원에서 ‘병든 몸’의 의미와 그 변화과정을 살펴봄으로써 현실을 포괄하는 윤리적 주체구성의 시적 여정을 검토하고자 하였다. 해방기를 기점으로 하여 초기시와 후기시를 분화하여 검토했을 때 신체성의 변화과정을 첫째, 비판하는 병리적 신체에서 치유되는 윤리적 신체로, 둘째, 부정적 시선 주체에서 행동하는 생명 주체로 변환되어 가는 과정을 확인할 수 있었다. 오장환 시에서 신체성은 전기 후기를 통틀어 일관된 시적 기제로 작용하면서도, 해방기를 기점으로 그 성격이 변화되는 과정을 겪는다. 특히 오장환의 신체성 인식은 일관되게 자기를 ‘병든 몸’으로 구성하는 태도를 통해 나타나는데, 병리성의 차원에서 볼 때 초기시에서는 자신을 병든 육체로 인식 하면서 사회적 현실을 비판하고, 후기시에서는 병든 몸을 치료하는 과정에서 ‘나’를 ‘우리’로 인식하면서 병든 현실 역시 극복될 수 있다는 윤리적 신체로 나아간다. 또한 시선 주체의 차원에서 볼 때 초기시에서는 부정적 자기 인식을 통해 사회현실을 비만한 육체로 규정하면서 비판적 시선을 유지하고, 후기시에서는 행동하는 몸을 통해 소시민성을 극복하면서 병이 치유되고 생명을 발견하는 시선 주체로 변환된다. 오장환의 시에서 신체성의 문제는 이처럼 일관된 시적 방법론으로 작용하였음을 알 수 있다. 그의 시가 보여주는 변화지점과 방법적 다기성들이 우연적이고 파편적인 미적 행보가 아니라, 신체성을 일관되게 밀고나간 시적 방법이었고, 현실 대응이었으며, 윤리 주체 구성 방법이었음을 확인할 수 있다. This study intended to examine the poetic journey of ethical subject constitution including the reality by examining the meaning of the "sick body" and the changes in the meaning based on the idea that corporality was the essential inner force in the world of Jang Hwan Oh"s poems and consistent poetic method. The early poems and latter poems divided based on the liberation period were separately examined, and it confirmed the process of changes in cororality; first from the criticized pathological body to the healed ethical body and second, from the negative subject of sight to the active subject of life. In Oh"s poems, the perception of corporality consistently acts as the poetic mechanism throughout former and latter periods, and the process of changes in its characteristics appear around the liberation period. In particular, Oh regarded himself as the ‘sick body’ in Oh"s perception of corporality, and this has been consistent from early poems to poems written after defection to North Korea. The self?awareness about the body strongly intervenes in the subject constitution when the body becomes ill. Through this, Oh criticized the reality through the perception that himself as well as the world in reality are diseased and gained the perception of reality that the disease of the world can be overcome through the process of experiencing the curability of the sick body. In this point, the problem of corporality to Oh was an essential poetic turning point and acted as an important poetic methodology.

      • 시각적 피드백을 병행한 어깨복합운동프로그램이 어깨비대칭 청년들의 어깨 근력과 정렬에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to identify whether shoulder complex exercise program with visual feedback could improve the shoulder muscular strength and postural alignment in adolescents with shoulder asymmetry. Twenty eight subjects were recruited from the K university and divided into three groups: experimental 1, 2group(Each n=10) and control group(n=8). For 4 weeks, the experimental group 1 performed shoulder muscle complex exercise program and the experimental group 2 performed shoulder complex exercise program with visual feedback. The control group did not perform exercises. The shoulder muscle strength and difference between the height of left and right shoulders were assessed before, after training using the hand-held dynamometer and Global Posture System. Subordination variables, general characteristics analysis, χ² test and Kruskal Wallis H test were conducted to evaluate differences between groups and training before, after changes were checked Wilcoxon signed rank test with using the PASW 18.0 statistical program. The results of the study were as follows. 1) Both the experimental 1, 2group showed improvements in muscle strength of several muscles following training (p<.01). The control group showed significant reduction in the left posterior deltoid (p<.05), and did not show significant changes in examining other muscles (p>.05). And there were differences among three groups in shoulder muscle strength (p<.001). Muscle strength changes in several muscles were greater in the experimental 1, 2group compared with the control group (p<.001). Muscle strength changes in the several muscles were greater in the experimental group 2 compared with the experimental group 1 (p<.001) 2) Both the experimental 1, 2group showed significant decreases in the difference between the left and right shoulder heights following training (p<.01). The control group did not show change (p>.05). Changes in the difference between the left and right shoulder heights were greater in the experimental 1, 2group compared with the control group (p<.001).

        한기팔 시의 불교생태학적 특징 및 의의 : 『섬, 우화』를 중심으로

        본고에서는 한기팔의 자연친화적 시세계에 내포된 불교생태학적 의의에 초점을 맞추어 진행하였다. 진행된 한기팔 시의 논의 내용을 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 『섬, 우화』의 기저에 깔려 있는 것은 공(空)의 사유이다. 공이란 삼라만상의 모든 존재에 본질적으로 실체가 없음을 의미한다. 삼라만상의 모든 존재는 변화하며 이 모든 것들에게는 고유한 불변의 실체성[自性]이 없다는 것이다. 둘째, 한기팔의 시세계에서는 비실체성을 띤 개체들 사이의 의존적인 관계성이 구현되고 있다. 그의 작품들 속에는 존재들 간 다양한 방식의 연기 실상이 드러난다. 이 바탕에는 삼라만상의 모든 존재가 상호의존하여 작용하고 있다는 인식이 전제된다. 셋째, 한기팔 시의 화자는 자연 대상들을 스스럼 없는 친교의 대상으로 여기거나, 불이의 존재들로서 자연 대상들을 동일시하기도 한다. 이자타불이(自他不二)의 사유로부터 비롯된 자비심의 자연스러운 분출이 바로 불교사상에서 제시하는 상호존중의 윤리이다. 그의 시는 연기의 실상에 대한 인식을 바탕으로 하여 우리에게 상생과 조화로 나아가는 자비의 윤리를 제시하고 있다. 이러한 불교생태학 관점의 평등관과 윤리는 이분법적 사고체계에서 비롯된 환경·생태 파괴의 해결책으로서도 중요한 의미를 갖는다. This paper studies Han Gipal's poems based on the thoughts of buddhist ecology. Firstly, Island, fable is based on thought of Gong. Gong means that all creations have essentially no substance. All beings change and they don't have inherent immutable substantiality. Secondly, in Han Gipal's poetic worlds, co-dependent relationships among insubstantial beings are implemented. His works reveal the reality of Yeon-gi between beings in various ways. It is based on the assumption that myriad creatures are interdependent. Thirdly, Persona of Han Gipal's poems regards nature as objects of friendship, or even identifies them with non-dual beings. The natural outburst of compassion from Jatabuli is the ethics of mutual respect presented in Buddism. This can be the solution to ecological problems and crisis we encounter.
