        Multiple-Shot Person Re-identification by Features Learned from Third-party Image Sets

        Person re-identification is an important and challenging task in computer vision with numerous real world applications. Despite significant progress has been made in the past few years, person re-identification remains an unsolved problem. This paper presents a novel appearance-based approach to person re-identification. The approach exploits region covariance matrix and color histograms to capture the statistical properties and chromatic information of each object. Robustness against low resolution, viewpoint changes and pose variations is achieved by a novel signature, that is, the combination of Log Covariance Matrix feature and HSV histogram (LCMH). In order to further improve re-identification performance, third-party image sets are utilized as a common reference to sufficiently represent any image set with the same type. Distinctive and reliable features for a given image set are extracted through decision boundary between the specific set and a third-party image set supervised by max-margin criteria. This method enables the usage of an existing dataset to represent new image data without time-consuming data collection and annotation. Comparisons with state-of-the-art methods carried out on benchmark datasets demonstrate promising performance of our method.

      • Elaborately assembled core-shell structured metal sulfides as a bifunctional catalyst for highly efficient electrochemical overall water splitting

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Low efficiency, short lifetimes, and limited kinds of catalysts are still three fundamental shortcomings that have plagued electrochemical water splitting. Herein, we rationally synthesized a cost-effective Co<SUB>3</SUB>S<SUB>4</SUB>@MoS<SUB>2</SUB> hetero-structured catalyst that has proven to be a highly active and stable bifunctional catalyst for both hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in an alkaline environment. The heterostructure was obtained <I>via</I> a first hydrothermal approach to obtain hollow Co<SUB>3</SUB>S<SUB>4</SUB> nanoboxes based on the ionic exchange reaction between Fe(CN)<SUB>6</SUB> <SUP>3−</SUP> of Co-Fe Prussian blue analogue (PBA) and S<SUP>2−</SUP> at 120 °C, and the subsequent <I>in situ</I> growth of MoS<SUB>2</SUB> nanosheets on the surface of Co<SUB>3</SUB>S<SUB>4</SUB> nanoboxes at an elevated temperature of 200 °C. The synergistic effects between the active and stable HER catalyst of MoS<SUB>2</SUB> and the efficient OER catalyst of Co<SUB>3</SUB>S<SUB>4</SUB>, as well as the morphological superiority of hollow and core-shell structures, endow Co<SUB>3</SUB>S<SUB>4</SUB>@MoS<SUB>2</SUB> with remarkable electrocatalytic performance and robust durability toward overall water splitting. As a result, the designed non-noble electrocatalyst of Co<SUB>3</SUB>S<SUB>4</SUB>@MoS<SUB>2</SUB> exhibits a low overpotential of 280 mV for OER and 136 mV for HER at a current density of 10 mA cm<SUP>−2</SUP> in an alkaline solution. Meanwhile, a low cell voltage of 1.58 V is achieved by using the heterostructure as both anode and cathode catalysts.         MES job shop scheduling problem is the core module, and its essence is a kind of resource constraints, time constraints and process constraints such as combinatorial optimization problems, research and application of job shop scheduling problem for China's manufacturing sector improve management, productivity, and the implementation of advanced manufacturing strategies are important, therefore, job shop scheduling research has theoretical and practical significance. In this paper, the slow evolution of GA algorithm will occur, or premature, and the SA algorithm is introduced to the crossover and mutation, genetic simulated annealing algorithm is proposed - GASA algorithm, mathematical model is given algorithm, the algorithm model, the algorithm process. GA parallel sampling of the time optimization algorithm performance can be improved, and the control of SA binding guidelines to control the convergence of the algorithm to avoid prematurity. The classical scheduling problem FT06, GASA correctness of the algorithm is verified and compared with the traditional GA algorithm is verified GASA efficiency of the algorithm.

        Fault Diagnosis and Model Predictive Tolerant Control for Non-Gaussian Stochastic Distribution Control Systems based on T-S Fuzzy Model

        A Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model is applied to approximate the nonlinear dynamics of stochasticdistribution control (SDC) systems, in which linear radial basis function (RBF) neural network is adopted to approximatethe output probability density function (PDF) of non-Gaussian SDC systems. Considering the situationthat fault may occur, a fuzzy adaptive fault diagnosis observer is designed to estimate the fault value. Besides,the Lyapunov stability theory is used to analyse the stability of the observation error system. Based on the faultestimation information and model predictive control (MPC) algorithm, the active fault tolerant control strategy isgiven. Finally, a simulation example is given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm.

        The association between new generation oral contraceptive pill and the development of inflammatory bowel diseases

        Background/Aims: To examine the association between use of oral contraceptive pills (OCPs) and the risk of developing inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), in a modern cohort. Methods: A prospective nested case-control study across sites in the Asia-Pacific region was conducted; involving female IBD cases and asymptomatic controls. Subjects completed a questionnaire addressing questions related to OCP use. Primary outcome was the risk of development of IBD of those exposed to OCP versus non-exposure. Secondary outcomes were development of Crohn’s disease (CD) versus ulcerative colitis (UC), and whether age of first use of OCP use may be associated with risk of IBD. Results: Three hundred and forty-eight female IBD cases (41% CD, median age: 43 years) and 590 female age-matched controls were recruited. No significant association was found between OCP use and the risk of IBD (odds ratio [OR], 1.65; 95% confidence interval, 0.77–3.13; P=0.22), CD (OR, 1.55) or UC (OR, 1.01). The lack of association persisted when results were adjusted for age and smoking. IBD cases commenced OCP use at a younger age than controls (18 years vs. 20 years, P=0.049). Conclusions: In this large cohort of subjects from the Asia-Pacific region, we found a modest but not significantly increased risk of developing IBD amongst OCP users.

      • An Intrusion Prevention Technology Based on Dynamic Random Password Authentication in Wireless Sensor Networks

        Security is an important problem in wireless sensor networks. Intrusion detection system is one of the most common methods of network security, for which more and more people have shown solicitude. In this paper, a dynamic random password authentication (DRPA) method is proposed for the identity authentication of communication nodes, which can detect and prevent malicious behavior at each stage of the network operation. This paper introduces the method of automatic generation of random passwords. When a user wants to communicate, the password will be verified to confirm whether it is a normal user or a malicious user. The password’s generation and verification process is very suitable for wireless sensor networks. By using NS2, the simulation experiments are carried out and the results show that this method is superior to the other methods.

        Outlier detection and clustering technologies are an important branch of data mining, such as combining the two technologies can improve the mining significance. In this paper, both clustering and outlier detection can be the starting point, proposed a DBSCAN-LOF algorithm is the core idea is to use k_ neighbors thought, DBSCAN redefine the core of the object, making the only non-core objects LOF The operation, thereby reducing the original LOF algorithm is computing the number of global objects, and makes no DBSCAN algorithm input parameters Eps. Real and simulated data sets by experimental results confirm that the algorithm to improve the operating efficiency and the LOF algorithm DBSCAN clustering effect, and while producing clustering and outlier detection results.

        RUNX1 Upregulation Causes Mitochondrial Dysfunction via Regulating the PI3K-Akt Pathway in iPSC from Patients with Down Syndrome

        Down syndrome (DS) is the most common autosomal aneuploidy caused by trisomy of chromosome 21. Previous studies demonstrated that DS affected mitochondrial functions, which may be associated with the abnormal development of the nervous system in patients with DS. Runt-related transcription factor 1 (RUNX1) is an encoding gene located on chromosome 21. It has been reported that RUNX1 may affect cell apoptosis via the mitochondrial pathway. The present study investigated whether RUNX1 plays a critical role in mitochondrial dysfunction in DS and explored the mechanism by which RUNX1 affects mitochondrial functions. Expression of RUNX1 was detected in induced pluripotent stem cells of patients with DS (DS-iPSCs) and normal iPSCs (N-iPSCs), and the mitochondrial functions were investigated in the current study. Subsequently, RUNX1 was overexpressed in N-iPSCs and inhibited in DS-iPSCs. The mitochondrial functions were investigated thoroughly, including reactive oxygen species levels, mitochondrial membrane potential, ATP content, and lysosomal activity. Finally, RNA-sequencing was used to explore the global expression pattern. It was observed that the expression levels of RUNX1 in DS-iPSCs were significantly higher than those in normal controls. Impaired mitochondrial functions were observed in DS-iPSCs. Of note, overexpression of RUNX1 in N-iPSCs resulted in mitochondrial dysfunction, while inhibition of RUNX1 expression could improve the mitochondrial function in DS-iPSCs. Global gene expression analysis indicated that overexpression of RUNX1 may promote the induction of apoptosis in DS-iPSCs by activating the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway. The present findings indicate that abnormal expression of RUNX1 may play a critical role in mitochondrial dysfunction in DS-iPSCs.
