        HPLC Determination and Steady-State Bioavailability Study of Levodropropizine Sustained-release Tablets in Dogs

        A simple HPLC method using UV detection was developed and validated for the determination of levodropropizine (LDP) In dog plasma. The sample was prepared for injection using a liquid-liquid extraction method with 1-phenypiperazine as the internal standard. The mobile phase was methanol - diethylamine solution (0.05 M) (20:80, v/v, pH adjusted to 3.0 with $H_3PO_4$) with a detection wavelength of 240 nm. The limit of quantitation (LOQ) of LDP in a biological matrix was determined to be 25.25 ng/mL. The calibration curve was linear across the concentration range of 25.25 to 2020 ng/mL. The intra-day and inter-day precision values (CV%) were within 7% and accuracy (R.E. %) was within 6% of the nominal values for medium (252.5 ng/mL) and high (2020 ng/mL) LDP concentrations. For the LDP concentration at the LOQ, the intra-day and inter-day precision and accuracy were within 20% and 10%, respectively. The average absolute recovery for LDP was 70.28%. This method was successfully used to analyze plasma samples in a steady-state bioavailability study of a newly developed sustained-release LDP tablets (SR) using immediate-release tablets (IR) as the reference. The relative bioavailability of the SR was determined to be $106.3\;{\pm}\;12.8%$ (n=6). The $C_{max}$ of the SR was significantly lower (p<0.05), and the $t_{max}$ was significantly longer than that of the IR (p<0.05). The results of ANOVA and two one-sided tests indicated that the SR exhibited acceptable sustained release properties and was bioequivalent to the IR.

        A Comparative Study on the Effects of Risk Perception and Quality Perception on the Purchase Intention of Fashion Products in Online and Offline Shopping

        Online shopping of fashion products has become an important way of purchase for Chinese consumers. However, consumers' satisfaction with convenient shopping will also be accompanied by the emergence of risk perception and quality perception. Offline shopping, as a traditional way of shopping, faces the challenge of online shopping, but it has gradually recovered in recent years. Because the fashion products in offline market can be judged directly, it can be speculated that the risk perception and quality perception in offline shopping is different from that in online shopping. Therefore, based on the comparison between online shopping and offline shopping, this paper intends to study the impact of risk perception and quality perception on consumers' purchase intention aimed at working women in their 20s and 30s in China. The responses from the sample were collected through survey questionnaires. The collected data were statistically processed through frequency analysis, reliability and validity analysis, factor analysis and correlation relationship analysis and the hypothesis verification of the structural equation model. Based on the results of the analysis of purchasing fashion products online, the factors of risk perception like the product information risk, economic risk, psychological risk and the factors of quality perception like the service quality and product quality have a positive effect on purchase intention. On the other hand, the analysis results of purchasing fashion products offline is that only the factor of risk perception like the product information risk has been shown to have a positive impact on purchase intention. This study is intended to help fashion companies to develop market strategies to on offline and online marketing.

        Lipid Production by a CO2-Tolerant Green Microalga, Chlorella sp.MRA-1

        Since CO2 concentrations in industrial flue gases are usually 10%-20%, one of the prerequisites for efficient CO2 removal by algae is the level of tolerance of microalgal species to exposure to high concentrations of CO2. A newly isolated microalgal strain, Chlorella sp. MRA-1, could retain growth with high concentrations of CO2 up to 15%. The highest lipid productivity for Chlorella sp. MRA-1 was 0.118 g/l/day with a 5% CO2 concentration. Octadecenoic acid and hexadecanoic acid, the main components of biodiesel, accounted for 70% of the total fatty acids. A lipid content of 52% of dry cell weight was achieved with limited amounts of nitrogen. Chlorella sp. MRA-1 seems to be an ideal candidate for biodiesel production when cultured with high concentrations of CO2.

        Ratiometric Detection of Rifampin by Using Self-Assembled Nanocomposites with Dual Fluorescence Emissions and Analysis of Two-Dimensional Correlation Spectroscopy

        A new ratiometric fluorescence probe is constructed for the detection of rifampin (RIF). Amino-modified silicon nanoparticles (SiNPs) and mercaptoundecanoic acid capped gold nanoclusters (MUA-AuNCs) are self-assembled into nanocomposites, showing dual fluorescence emissions, respectively, at 440 and 615?nm under a single excitation of 300?nm. The morphology, surface chemistry and optical properties of the nanocomposites are finely investigated through transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), UV?vis absorbance, dynamic and steady state fluorescence spectroscopy. Owning to rich hydroxyl groups, RIF can bind with MUA-AuNCs though hydrogen bonds resulting in the red fluorescence quenching. But the SiNPs keep their own blue fluorescence stable, which can act as an internal reference for ratiometric detection. By means of the ratio I615/I440, the linear relationship is established in the range from 0.1 to 5 ?M with the detection limit of 0.04??M. In addition, the synchronous and asynchronous fluorescence 2D correlation maps have been created to in-depth study the relative detecting mechanism.

        Investigation of grafted sulfonated alkali lignin polymer as dispersant in coal-water slurry

        A novel grafted sulfonated alkali lignin polymers (GSAL) with hydrophilic side chain and differentmolecular weights prepared were used as dispersants for coal-water slurry (CWS). The viscosityreduction for CWS had been attributed primarily to the diminution of coal particles (adsorbed GSAL)interaction of steric electrostatic repulsion and dramatic wettability. The adsorption amount of GSAL-3can reach to 1.58 mg/g, and the isotherm of GSAL on coal surface belongs to the Langmuir model, theelectrostatic self-assembly result indicated the dominant driving force of GSAL absorbed on coal surfacewas the p–p interaction. GSAL was superior in reducing the viscosities of CWS.

        Regeneration of PAC used for reverse osmosis concentrate treatment by wet oxidation

        The wet oxidation (WO) regeneration of powdered activated carbon (PAC) used for reverse osmosisconcentrate (ROC) treatment was studied. The exhausted PAC was regenerated at different temperaturesand times. The experimental results indicated that the optimum regeneration condition could beachieved at a temperature of 200 8C for 60 min. The mass of carbon in the solid, gas and liquid phasesbefore and after the PAC regeneration was balanced in different regeneration conditions. A molecularweight (MW) distribution of organic matter (OM) in the effluent treated by the PAC regenerated atoptimum conditions was performed.

        Elevated plasma fibrinogen levels and prognosis of epithelial ovarian cancer: a cohort study and meta-analysis

        Objective: To evaluate the effect of elevated plasma fibrinogen levels on the prognosis of epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). Methods: We reviewed the data of 217 patients with advanced-stage EOC between 2000 and 2012, and investigated the prognostic role of elevated plasma fibrinogen levels compared with serum CA-125 levels, neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR). For further evaluation, we performed a meta-analysis using 5 cohort studies published to July 2015, including our cohort study after a literature review. Results: Among the four biomarkers, only plasma fibrinogen levels >485.2 mg/dL were correlated with impaired progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) (median, 13.9 vs. 20.3 months and 42.2 vs. 55.4 months; p<0.010). Elevated plasma fibrinogen levels were an independent factor for poor PFS with marginal significance and OS (adjusted hazard ratios [HRs]=1.389 and 1.581; 95% confidence intervals [CIs]=0.979–1.972 and 1.032–2.423, respectively). Furthermore, crude and subgroup meta-analyses demonstrated that elevated plasma fibrinogen levels were associated with impaired PFS and OS in patients with all stage EOC. Conclusion: Elevated plasma fibrinogen levels be more important for predicting survival than serum CA-125 levels, NLR and PLR in patients with EOC, in particular, advanced-stage disease. Moreover, it may be related to poor prognosis of EOC.

        Translation of Nonce Names in Different Language Privilege: A Comparative Analysis of Two Bilingual Dr. Seuss Nursery Rhyme Editions

        In the context of bilingual books, one language may assume a more prominent position. This study examines the translation of nonce names in two bilingual editions of Dr. Seuss nursery rhymes published in China. It considers the language privilege of each edition and proceeds to explore the correlation of language privilege and translation strategies. Additionally, the study establishes criteria for assessing the readability of translated nonce names across various dimensions and examines the differences between the two editions. The findings indicate that language privilege, discernible through formatting and dictated by the purpose of translated texts, influences the choice of foreignization/ domestication strategy in both editions. The readability analysis reveals variations between the two editions, suggesting a connection to the language privilege. Notably, despite its primary focus on the English language, the English-privileged edition offers a higher level of readability.
