        On nonlinear variational inclusions with (A,η)-monotone mappings

        In this paper, we introduce a generalized system of nonlinear relaxed co-coercive variational inclusions involving (A,η)-monotone mappings in the framework of Hilbert spaces. Based on the generalized resolvent operator technique associated with (A,η)-monotonicity, we consider the approximation solvability of solutions to the generalized system. Since (A,η)-monotonicity generalizes A-monotonicity and H-monotonicity, The results presented this paper improve and extend the corresponding results announced by many others.

        Safety and efficacy of 3D-printed templates assisted CT-guided radioactive iodine-125 seed implantation for the treatment of recurrent cervical carcinoma after external beam radiotherapy

        Objective: To investigate the safety and efficacy of 3-dimensional (3D) printing non coplanar templates (PNCT) assisted computer tomography (CT) guided radioactive 125I seedimplantation (RISI) for the treatment of recurrent cervical carcinoma (RCC) after externalbeam radiotherapy (EBRT). Methods: A total of 103 patients with inoperable post-EBRT RCC were included in thisretrospective study. A total of 111 lesions received RISI. Eight lesions were at the pelvic center,75 lesions were at the pelvic lateral, and 28 lesions were extra-pelvic metastasis. The medianprescription dose was 120 Gy. The primary end points were adverse events and local control(LC), and the secondary end points were overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival. Results: Grade 2 adverse events of acute nausea, diarrhea, and pollakiuria occurred in 1, 2,and 1 patient, respectively. One patient suffered from grade 3 acute proctitis. Late toxicitywas observed in 2 patients with rectovaginal fistula. No grade 5 toxicity occurred. The 3-yearLC and OS rates were 75.1% and 20.8%, respectively. The median OS was 17 months. Themultivariate analysis showed that the minimum dose received by the “hottest” 90% of thegross tumor volume (D90) ≥130 Gy, squamous cell carcinoma, hemoglobin ≥80 g/L and goodshort-term efficacy (complete response or partial response) were independent predictors ofLC and OS (all p<0.05). Conclusions: 3D-PNCT assisted CT-guided RISI is a safe, effective, and minimally invasivemodality for RCC. The hemoglobin level, pathological type, dose distribution and short-termefficacy are considered as independent factors for clinical outcomes.

      • Stabilization of positive switched linear systems under state-dependent switching

        This paper mainly studies the stabilization of the positive switched linear system under the state-dependent switching. Without assuming that each subsystem is asymptotically stable, we design appropriate switching signals in terms of Lyapunov-Metzler inequalities such that the system is asymptotically stable. Both the continuous-time and the discrete-time positive switched systems are taken into consideration. Numerical example is also given to verify the validity of our results.

      • Fault detection for a class of stochastic systems with unknown disturbance

        The paper deals with fault detection of stochastic discrete systems with the consideration of unknown disturbance and noises, which are modelled as time-varying parameters and stochastic process, respectively. The disturbance decoupled observer design problem is investigated for the reconstructed singularity system which contains the states and disturbance. Then using hypothesis test technique, the residual generated by the designed observer is analyzed and a set of necessary conditions to the fault detectability is considered. Finally, the proposed fault detection approaches are applied to a practical DC motor to demonstrate the effectiveness of the results.

      • Stability Analysis of Continuous-Time Positive Switched Linear Systems

        This paper devotes to the stability of continuous-time positive switched linear systems. A method developed in positive systems has been proposed for the design of switching rules such that the systems is asymptotically stable. By introducing a family of linear copositive Lyapunov functions, we establish sufficient conditions for asymptotic stability of positive switched linear systems by virtue of the minimum dwell time, which do not require the Lyapunov function to decrease uniformly. A numerical example is also given to illustrate the main results.

        Research on Magnetic Actuation Mechanism and Kinematics of Soft Inspection Robot for HVDC Transmission Line

        Currently, most of the inspection robots for high-voltage transmission lines, both at home and abroad, utilize a multi-cantilever rigid structure. However, the inefficiency and poor safety of these robots when it comes to crossing obstacles make them impractical. To address this issue, a magnetically actuated soft inspection robot has been developed. This robot uses the amperage force applied to the current-carrying coil in a HVDC toroidal magnetic field to efficiently and flexibly cross multiple obstacles in an inchworm-like motion. The focus of this paper is on the design and theoretical calculation of the magnetically actuated model, specifically the magnetic linear traction force and magnetic adsorption force (diastolic force), required to enable the soft robot to crawl. Through simulation and kinematic analysis, the results show that the magnetically actuated soft robot design proposed in this paper is theoretically feasible, providing a foundation for future developments in magnetically actuated soft robots.

      • Necessary and Sufficient Condition for Reachable Set Estimation of Nonlinear Positive Systems with Time-Varying Delay

        This paper focuses on the problem of reachable set estimation for a class of nonlinear systems with timevarying delay and disturbance input. By using a method developed in positive systems, we establish a necessary and sufficient condition such that all the solutions of the system converge asymptotically within a specific ball. The convergence speed is also explicitly estimated. The approach used in this paper is different from the usual Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method. A numerical example is given to illustrate the main result.

        Stability and Micro-mechanisms of Lignin-improved Soil in a Drying-wetting Environment

        To evaluate the long-term service performance of subgrade with high-liquid-limit soil improved by lignin, a drying-wetting cycle test was carried out for the improved soil with 3% lignin content, and comparison was made with quicklime-improved soil with the same properties in terms of pH, unconfined compressive strength (UCS), appearance, and volume stability. Using a scanning electron microscope (SEM), the microscopic characteristics of the lignin-improved soil were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. By analyzing the evolution law of the soil microstructure and pores under the action of drying-wetting cycles, the strength degradation mechanism of the improved soil was discussed at the microscopic level. The test results showed that the soil pH value of the lignin-improved soil was more beneficial to the ecological environment compared with that of the quicklime-improved soil. Furthermore, the stability of the lignin-improved soil was better than that of the quicklime-improved soil due to strength loss and increased volume expansion rate caused by the drying-wetting cycles. In terms of the microstructure, the cementing materials enhanced the agglomeration of the soil by wrapping grains and filling pores. Under the action of drying and wetting, the number of pores inside the soil increased, and the soil structure loosened. Under drying and wetting conditions, the strength degradation of the lignin-improved soil was the result of the interaction of pore development and cementing materials dissolution.

        Isolation of feline panleukopenia virus from Yanji of China and molecular epidemiology from 2021 to 2022

        Background: Feline panleukopenia virus (FPV) is a widespread and highly infectious pathogen in cats with a high mortality rate. Although Yanji has a developed cat breeding industry, the variation of FPV locally is still unclear. Objectives: This study aimed to isolate and investigate the epidemiology of FPV in Yanji between 2021 and 2022. Methods: A strain of FPV was isolated from F81 cells. Cats suspected of FPV infection (n = 80) between 2021 and 2022 from Yanji were enrolled in this study. The capsid protein 2 (VP2) of FPV was amplified. It was cloned into the pMD-19T vector and transformed into a competent Escherichia coli strain. The positive colonies were analyzed via VP2 Sanger sequencing. A phylogenetic analysis based on a VP2 coding sequence was performed to identify the genetic relationships between the strains. Results: An FPV strain named YBYJ-1 was successfully isolated. The virus diameter was approximately 20–24 nm, 50% tissue culture infectious dose = 1 × 10−4.94/mL, which caused cytopathic effect in F81 cells. The epidemiological survey from 2021 to 2022 showed that 27 of the 80 samples were FPV-positive. Additionally, three strains positive for CPV-2c were unexpectedly found. Phylogenetic analysis showed that most of the 27 FPV strains belonged to the same group, and no mutations were found in the critical amino acids. Conclusions: A local FPV strain named YBYJ-1 was successfully isolated. There was no critical mutation in FPV in Yanji, but some cases with CPV-2c infected cats were identified.

        Image-Guided Percutaneous Lipiodol-Pingyangmycin Suspension Injection Therapy for Sacral Chordoma

        A 74-year-old man presented with a progressively worsening pain in sacrum and was diagnosed to have a sacral chordoma by biopsy in May, 2004. Percutaneous intratumoral injection with lipiodol-pingyangmycin suspension (LPS) was carried out under image guidance and repeated when the pain in sacrum recurred and the tumor increased. During a 6-year follow-up period, three sessions of this treatment were executed. CT imaging and Karnofsky Performance Score were used to evaluate the size of tumor and quality of life, respectively. The patient was free of pain after each procedure and had a high quality of life with a Karnofsky Performance Score above 80 points. The tumor lesion in sacral area was effectively controlled. No complications were observed. Percutaneous intratumoral injection with LPS under image guidance may be an effective and safe alternative for the patients with sacral chordoma.
