Purpose : The purpose of this study is to investigate temporomandibular joint arthritis that was induced by intra-articular injection of collagenase in rabbits. Material and Methods: In this study, 12 rabbis was used. We injected collagenase on temporomandibular joint of rabbit and observed for six weeks. H-E stain was done. Results : Four weeks later from 2.0 mg collagenase injection, we observe histologic appearance like arthritis. Conclusion : In our study using injection of collagenase in temporomandibular joint of rabbit we produce arthritis on temporomandibular joint of rabbit.
Intussusception Caused by a Duplication Cyst of Cecum : Report of a Case

Enteric duplication cysts are rare congenital malformations of uncertain etiology. Although they may occur anywhere along the gastrointestinal tract, terminal ileum is the most frequent site and cecal duplication cysts are very rare. Most of the enteric duplication cysts are detected in infancy as a result of palpable mass, acute intestinal obstruction, vomiting, abdominal pain, constipation, and gastrointestinal bleeding. We report a case of intussusception caused by a duplication cyst of cecum in a la-month-old infant. 소화관의 중복낭종은 원인불명의 매우 드문 선천성 기형이다. 중복낭종은 소화관의 어느 부위에서나 발생할 수 있는데 말단회장이 가장 흔하며 맹장의 중복낭종은 매우 드물다. 대부분의 중복낭종은 종괴 촉지, 급성 장폐쇄,구토, 복통,출혈 등의 증상에 의해 유아기에 발견된다. 저자들은 10개월 유아의 맹장 중복낭종에 의해 발생한 장중첩증을 보고하는 바이다.
Is Whole Exome Sequencing Clinically Practical in the Management of Pediatric Crohn’s Disease?

Background/Aims: The aim of this study was to identify the profile of rare variants associated with Crohn’s disease (CD) using whole exome sequencing (WES) analysis of Korean children with CD and to evaluate whether genetic profiles could provide information during medical decision making. Methods: DNA samples from 18 control individuals and 22 patients with infantile, very-early and early onset CD of severe phenotype were used for WES. Genes were filtered using panels of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)-associated genes and genes of primary immunodeficiency (PID) and monogenic IBD. Results: Eighty-one IBD-associated variants and 35 variants in PID genes were revealed by WES. The most frequently occurring variants were carried by nine (41%) and four (18.2%) CD probands and were ATG16L2 (rs11235604) and IL17REL (rs142430606), respectively. Twenty-four IBD-associated variants and 10 PID variants were predicted to be deleterious and were identified in the heterozygous state. However, their functions were unknown with the exception of a novel p.Q111X variant in XIAP (X chromosome)of a male proband. Conclusions: The presence of many rare variants of unknown significance limits the clinical applicability of WES for individual CD patients. However, WES in children may be beneficial for distinguishing CD secondary to PID. (Gut Liver 2015,9:767-775)

The purpose of this study was to conduct an experiment on the students attending an academic high school by setting a Jeong-jwa activity as part of regular classes, and to investigate the changes in creative personality. Jeong-jwa is one of the practices of Toegye Yi Hwang’s idea of Gyeong. One hundred and fifty five (155) high school students were gathered and divided into two groups (experimental group: 2 classes, 59 students, 38.1%; control group: 3 classes, 96 students, 61.9%). A creative personality test developed by the Korean Educational Development Institute (KEDI) in 2011 was utilized for measuring the students’ level of creative personality. The test consisted of 6 sub-factors (curiosity, task commitment, aesthetics, risk taking, open-mindedness, and independence of judgment) with a total of 27 items rated on a 4-point Likert scale. The pretest and posttest were analyzed with One-way ANCOVA, except for ‘open-mindedness’ and ‘independence of judgment’ among sub-factors because of lower reliability. The results showed that the main effect on creative personality and task commitment, aesthetics, and risk taking among the sub-factors of creative personality had statistically significant differences between the two groups. Nevertheless, the main effect on curiosity had no statistically significant difference between the two groups.
Preparation and Properties of Pelletized Activated Carbons Using Coconut Char and Coal-Tar Pitch

A series of activated carbons were prepared from coconut shells and coal-tar pitch binder by physical activation with steam in this study. The effect of variable processes such as activation temperature, activation time and ratio of mixing was investigated for optimizing those preparation parameters. The activation processes were carried out continuously. The nitrogen adsorption isotherms at 77 K on pellet-shaped activated carbons show the same trend of Type I by IUPAC classification. The average pore sizes were about 19-21${\AA}$. The specific surface areas ($S_{BET}$) of pellet typed ACs increased with increasing the activation temperature and time. Specific surface area of AC treated for 90 min at temperature $900^{\circ}C$ was 1082 $m^2/g$. The methylene blue numbers continuously increased with increasing the activation temperature and time. On the other hand, iodine numbers highly increased till activation time of 60 min, but the rate of increase of iodine numbers decreased after that time. This indicates that new micropores were created and the existing micropores turned into mesopores and macropores because of increased reactivity of carbon surface and $H_2O$.

3.5×1.5m로 심어 세장방추형을 목표수형으로 관리하고 있는 ‘후지’/M.9 사과나무에서 재식 3년 차와 4년 차에 주간 단면적(TCA, ㎠)당 착과 수를 4, 5, 6, 7개로 착과 수준을 달리하여 영양생장, 수량, 과실 품질 및 익년 개화율을 비교 하였다. TCA당 착과 수준이 낮을수록 신초생장 및 주간비대가 양호하였고 과실당 엽면적 비율이 높아지면서 과중이 크게 증가하였다. 주당 수량은 착과량이 적을수록 평균 과중이 현저히 증가하여 착과 수준간의 차이는 뚜렷하지 않았다. TCA ㎠ 당 착과 수준이 6, 7개의 경우 과중 300g이하의 과일비율이 현저히 높아지고 익년 개화율이 50% 미만으로 낮아 이듬해에 같은 수준의 결실이 어려웠다. 재식 3-4년 차에는 적절한 결실을 통해 수세를 안정시켜야 하면서 한편으로는 지속적인 영양생장을 통해 수관을 확대하여야 하는 시기므로 ‘후지’/M.9 사과나무의 경우 3년 차에는 TCA ㎠ 당 4-5과인 50-60개/주를 결실시키는 것이, 재식 4년 차의 경우 TCA ㎠당 4과인 70-75개/주 범위로 결실시키는 것이 적당할 것으로 판단되었다. 이 경우 영양생장이 유지되어 수관이 확보되면서 350g 이상의 대과의 비율이 높아 착과 수준을 높여 수량을 올리는 것에 비해 소득 면에서 유리할 것으로 판단되었다. Four different crop loads by hand thinning, 4, 5, 6 and 7 fruits per trunk cross-sectional area (TCA, ㎠), were established in the 3<SUP>rd</SUP> and 4<SUP>th</SUP> leafy years of ‘Fuji’/M.9 apple trees planted at 3.5 × 1.5 m spacing and trained as slender spindle. Tree responses to reduced crop load included increased trunk thickness, longer shoot and heavier fruits with higher leaf area per fruit. However, yield per tree among different crop loads was not significantly different by compensational fruit growth with less fruit set. The percentage of fruits heavier than 300 g increased significantly at the crop load of 6 and 7 fruits per TCA ㎠ and return bloom dropped to less than 50%; hence, it was not possible to keep the same levels of crop load in the next year. Achieving a balance between vegetative growth and cropping of the high-density orchard system in the 3<SUP>rd</SUP> and 4<SUP>th</SUP> leafy years is important for stable production of quality fruits. Not only for early tree calmness, but also for early fullness of the tree canopy in allotted space with some vegetative growth, it seemed to be recommendable to set 4-5 fruits per TCA ㎠ or 50-60 fruits per tree in the 3<SUP>rd</SUP> leafy year and 4 fruits per TCA ㎠ or 70-75 fruits per tree in the 4<SUP>th</SUP> leafy year. Economically, it is not disadvantageous with higher percentage of costly fruits heavier than 350g in spite of some low yield.
