      • Improving Unconstrained Iris Recognition Performance via Domain Adaptation Metric Learning Method

2016 International Journal of Security and Its Applicat Vol.10 No.5

To improve unconstrained iris recognition system performance in different environments, a performance improvement method of unconstrained iris recognition based on domain adaptation metric learning is proposed. A kernel matrix is calculated as the solution of domain adaptation metric learning. The known Hamming distance computing by intra-class and inter-class is used as the optimization learning constraints in the process of iris recognition. An optimal Mahalanobis matrix is computed for certain cross-environment system, then distance between two iris samples is redefined. The experimental results indicate that the proposed method can increase the accuracy of the unconstrained iris recognition in different circumstances, improving the classification ability of iris recognition system.

Survival and Revival of Traditionalist Chinese Painting after the Cultural Revolution

Vol.0 No.43

The relationship between painting and poetry before the twentieth century has been well examined by art historians. However, this relationship in modern Chinese art has been less addressed. This paper is a case study of Tang Yun’s Twelve-Leaf Album after Lu You’s Poems, which was made in the last year of China’s Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution (1966–1976). Through an examination of the purpose, subject matter, and style of this album, this paper suggests that this album not only represents the survival of the traditionalist interplay between painting and poetry in twentieth-century Chinese art, but also epitomizes the artist’s literati approach in reviving traditionalist Chinese painting after the devastation of the Cultural Revolution.

Network-based Simultaneous H∞ Stabilization for Chemical Reaction Systems with Multiple Packet Dropouts

2017 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.15 No.1

In this paper, we study a novel control problem for network-based chemical reaction systems by virtueof a simultaneous H¥ stabilization methodology. In the presence of multiple packet dropouts, a finite collectionof stochastic parameter subsystems are extended to describe the networked control system (NCS). A single remotenetwork-based controller is designed to simultaneously stabilize the multiple stochastic parameter subsystems inthe sense of mean square and capture the H¥ control performance. Based on an orthogonal complement spacetechnique, a novel matrix inequality framework is established, where the controller gain is parametrized by theintroduction of a common free positive definite matrix, which is independent of the multiple Lyapunov matrices. Furthermore, an iterative linear matrix inequality (ILMI) algorithm is developed to deal with the proposedframework. Simulation results of a typical network-based chemical reaction system are provided to illustrate theeffectiveness of the proposed scheme.

Simultaneous Stability of Large-scale Systems via Distributed Control Network with Partial Information Exchange

        Yanfei Zhu,Fuwen Yang,Chuanjiang Li,Yilian Zhang 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2018 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.16 No.4

This paper is concerned with the simultaneous stability of the multi-mode large-scale systems composed of the interaction subsystems. A novel distributed control network consisting of multiple network-based controllers with the partial information exchange is adopted to simultaneously stabilize the large-scale systems in multiple operation modes. In the distributed control network (DCN), a partial state information exchange approach is developed to save the real-time communication and computation resources. To compensate for the effects of dynamic couplings between interaction subsystems, the designed controllers use both the local states and the neighbors’ partial information with packet dropouts for local feedback design. Then, a series of Lyapunov functions are constructed to derive a matrix-inequality-based sufficient condition for the existence of the desired controllers. Based on an orthogonal complement technique, the gains of the controllers in DCN are parameterized. The iterative algorithm for the solution of simultaneous stabilization problem is also developed. Finally, a numerical example is performed to show the relevant feature of the proposed method.

Strategy for Task Offloading of Multi-user and Multi-server Based on Cost Optimization in Mobile Edge Computing Environment

( Yanfei He ),( Zhenhua Tang ) 한국정보처리학회 2021 Journal of information processing systems Vol.17 No.3

With the development of mobile edge computing, how to utilize the computing power of edge computing to effectively and efficiently offload data and to compute offloading is of great research value. This paper studies the computation offloading problem of multi-user and multi-server in mobile edge computing. Firstly, in order to minimize system energy consumption, the problem is modeled by considering the joint optimization of the offloading strategy and the wireless and computing resource allocation in a multi-user and multi-server scenario. Additionally, this paper explores the computation offloading scheme to optimize the overall cost. As the centralized optimization method is an NP problem, the game method is used to achieve effective computation offloading in a distributed manner. The decision problem of distributed computation offloading between the mobile equipment is modeled as a multi-user computation offloading game. There is a Nash equilibrium in this game, and it can be achieved by a limited number of iterations. Then, we propose a distributed computation offloading algorithm, which first calculates offloading weights, and then distributedly iterates by the time slot to update the computation offloading decision. Finally, the algorithm is verified by simulation experiments. Simulation results show that our proposed algorithm can achieve the balance by a limited number of iterations. At the same time, the algorithm outperforms several other advanced computation offloading algorithms in terms of the number of users and overall overheads for beneficial decision-making.

Consensus and Security Control of Multi-agent Systems Based on Set-membership Estimation with Time-varying Topology under Deception Attacks

        Yanfei Zhu,Hang Liu,Chuanjiang Li,Jiahao Yu 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2022 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.20 No.11

This paper is concerned with the consensus and security of leader-follower multi-agent systems with time-varying topology, where each follower’s sensor-to-controller channel and controller-to-actuator channel are subject to unknown but bounded (UBB) random deception attacks. A novel set-membership estimation and control framework is presented to realize system consensus, input-to-state stability and security performance, in which each controller receives arbitrary estimates from itself and neighbor set-membership estimators. Based on the Lyapunov functional and stochastic control method, a sufficient condition on the existence of estimators and controllers is derived. Then, a convex optimization algorithm is established to deal with the proposed framework. Finally, the effectiveness of the method is verified by numerical simulation.

PRESENTATION OF BIOACTIVE EPITOPES WITH FREE N-TERMINI ON SELF-ASSEMBLING PEPTIDE NANOFIBERS

2011 NANO Vol.6 No.1

Branched self-assembling peptides bearing epitopes with free N-termini were designed. A lysine residue was used as branch point to present more than one epitopes in a single peptide. Atomic force microscope, circular dichroism and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy data indicate that the N-terminus attached epitope sequences do not prevent the formation of the β-sheets and the self-assembling of these peptides into stable nanofibers in aqueous solutions. Rheology experiments show that these peptides could form self-supporting scaffolds once electrostatic repulsions were screened by electrolytes. Fluorescence spectra measurements upon binding of FITC-avidin to surfaces of nanofibers were performed to investigate the effect of charged aspartic acid residues in RGD epitopes at the lysine branching on packing and accessibility of the epitopes. Results show that the electrostatic interaction between hydrophilic side chains at branching and nanofiber surfaces may significantly affect the conformational freedom and accessibility of the epitopes at the periphery of the nanofibers. Cell entrapment experiments reveal that the attached RGD epitopes with free N-termini are biological active.

Observer-based Asynchronous Event-triggered Robust H∞ Adaptive Switching Control for Nonlinear Industrial Cyber Physical Systems Under Data Injection Attacks

2023 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.21 No.7

By fully taking the effects of data injection attacks and nonlinear disturbances into consideration, based on dynamic asynchronous event-triggered approach, an observer asynchronous event-triggered robust H∞ adaptive switching method is proposed for the stability of ICPSs. On the one hand, an adaptive feedback controller is designed to resist the negative influence of data injection attacks in systems. On the other hand, a Luenberger state observer is designed to reconstruct a reliable estimate of the whole system state. Finally, the advantage of the presented approach is illustrated by some simulation results.

CuCl2 promoted low-gold-content Au/C catalyst for acetylene hydrochlorination prepared by ultrasonic-assisted impregnation

        Yanfei Du,Ruisheng Hu,Yun Jia,Qihua Zhou,Wanwan Meng,Jun Yang 한국공업화학회 2016 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.37 No.-

A detailed study of low-gold-content Au(0.25%)/C and Au(0.25%)Cu(4%)/C catalysts prepared viaultrasonic-assisted impregnation method is described and discussed. The addition of 4 wt% Cu to Au/Cincreases the initial activity and the Au loading is decreased to 0.25 wt%. Au(0.25%)Cu(4%)/C exhibits bestcatalytic performance with an acetylene conversion of 97.4% and the selectivity to VCM of more than 99%at a space velocity of 720 h 1 and 150 8C. The observations are rationalized in terms: (i)Au(0.25%)Cu(4%)/C exhibits relative larger specific surface area (562 m2/g) than Cu(4%)/C (385 m2/g),which provides more active sites for acetylene hydrochlorination; (ii) the reduction activation energy ofAu3+! Au0 in Au(0.25%)Cu(4%)/C (45.5 kJ/mol) is much higher than that of Au(0.25%)/C (35.6 kJ/mol),which indicates that the Au3+ species in Au(0.25%)Cu(4%)/C catalyst is more difficult to be reduced, thereduction activation energy of Cu+! Cu0 in Au(0.25%)Cu(4%)/C (48.9 kJ/mol) is higher than that ofCu(4%)/C (43.1 kJ/mol) as a result of the electronic interaction between Au and Cu atoms; (iii)Au(0.25%)Cu(4%)/C possesses more Au3+ species (28%) than Au(0.25%)/C (16%) determined by XPS. Freemercurylow-gold-content Au(0.25%)Cu(4%)/C catalyst is environmental-friendly, making it apotentially green catalyst for acetylene hydrochlorination.
