        Circulating Low Absolute CD4+ T Cell Counts May Predict Poor Prognosis in Extranodal NK/T-Cell Lymphoma Patients Treating with Pegaspargase-Based Chemotherapy

        Purpose Extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma, nasal type (ENKTL) is a rare subtype of non- Hodgkin lymphoma, and asparaginase-based regimens are the best first-line treatments. Data on the role of specific circulating lymphocyte subsets in the progression of ENKTL are limited. The aim of this study was to investigate the clinical correlation and distribution of circulating absolute CD4+ T-cell counts (ACD4Cs) in ENKTL. Materials and Methods We retrospectively searched medical records for 70 newly diagnosed ENKTL patients treated with pegaspargase-based regimens. Comparison of ACD4Cs as a continuous parameter in different groups was calculated. Univariate and multivariate analyses were used to assess prognostic factors for overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS). Results Stage III/IV, B symptoms, elevated lactate dehydrogenase, monocytopenia, high-intermediate and high risk International Prognostic Index (IPI) and Korean Prognostic Index (KPI), high risk Prognostic Index of Natural Killer Lymphoma (PINK), and lower lymphocytes were significantly associated with low ACD4C at diagnosis. With a median follow-up time of 32 months, patients who had an ACD4C < 0.30109/L had a worse OS. Median OS was 11 months and median PFS was 5 months in the low ACD4C cohort. There were significant differences in both OS and PFS between the two cohorts. Moreover, multivariate Cox analysis identified ACD4Cs as an independent predictor for OS and PFS. Conclusion Low ACD4Cs were associated with poorer survival and could act as a negative predictor for ENKTL patients treated with asparaginase-based regimens.

        PREPARATION OF CISPLATIN COMPOSITE MICRO/NANOFIBERS AND ANTITUMOR ACTIVITY IN VITRO AGAINST HUMAN TUMOR spc-a-1 CELLS

        In this paper, the cisplatin composite micro/nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning. Average diameter of the typical products was about 700 nm, and cisplatins were incorporated in biodegradable poly (L-lactic acid) fibers. The controlled release of cisplatin can be gained for long time. The possible mechanisms of cisplatin release in the PBS and the PBS with proteinase K were discussed. 3-(4, 5)-dimethylthiahiazo-(-z-y1)-3, 5-di-phenytetrazoliumromide (MTT) method was used to test antitumor activities in vitro against human lung tumor spc-a-1 cells. When incubation time was 24 h, the same content of cisplatin from virgin cisplatin and the composite fibers has almost equal antitumor activity in vitro. However, when incubation time was 48 h, the composite fibers show much higher antitumor activity than the virgin cisplatin. The system may be useful in the postoperative local chemotherapy and have clinical applications as an implantable drug for tumor in the future.

        Different ratios of aluminum were incorporated into MCM-41. PL measurements revealed a blue shift and an enhancement in intensity by 2 orders of magnitude as the Si : Al ratio was decreased to 14. By comparing the PL and the photoluminescence excitation (PLE) spectra of aluminosilicate MCM-41 to silica MCM-41 and to published reports on similar materials, we are able to identify the origin of the photoluminescence enhancement.

        Insecticidal activities and biochemical properties of Pinellia ternata extracts against the beet armyworm Spodoptera exigua

        The beet armyworm, Spodoptera exigua Hübner (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae), is a key pest of various agricultural crops in many countries throughout the world. The pest requires extensive use of pesticides and field-evolved resistances to conventional insecticides in China and other countries. Pinellia ternata Breit is native to the eastern part of Asia and foundmainly in China,which has been used in traditional Chinese medicines for N1000 years, but few studies have focused on the insecticidal activity of the P. ternate. In order to find natural products that could be used to control the pest in an safe, efficient and ecofriendlymanner,we first time analyzed the components of the anhydrous ethanolic extracts fromthe tubers of Pinellia ternate by using GC–MS method, and then investigated the insecticidal activities and biochemical mechanisms of the extracts against S. exigua. The result of GC–MS showed that 2-Methoxy-4-vinylphenolmay be an insecticidal active component, and we also found the extracts had notable insecticidal activity and disturbed the regular metabolismof S. exiguamainly through altering the activities of detoxification enzymes, digestive enzymes and protective enzymes. These properties suggest that the anhydrous ethanolic extracts from P. ternate can serve as a potential, efficient and ecofriendly S. exigua-control biopesticide.

        Ni/La2O3-ZrO2 catalyst for hydrogen production from steam reforming of acetic acid as a model compound of bio-oil

        Hydrogen production from steam reforming of acetic acid was investigated over Ni/La2O3-ZrO2 catalyst. A series of Ni/La2O3-ZrO2 catalysts were synthesized by sol-gel method coupled with wet impregnation, which was characterized by XRD, BET, TEM, EDS, TG, SEM and TPR. Catalytic activity of Ni/La2O3-ZrO2 was evaluated by steam reforming of acetic acid at the temperature range of 550-750 oC. The tetragonal phase La0.1Zr0.9O1.95 is formed through the doping of La2O3 into the ZrO2 lattice and nickel species are highly dispersed on the support with high specific surface area. H2 yield and CO2 yield of Ni/La2O3-ZrO2 catalyst with 15%wt Ni reaches 89.27% and 80.41% at 600 oC, respectively, which is attributed to high BET surface area and sufficient Ni active sites in strong interaction with the support. 15%wt Ni supported on La2O3-ZrO2 catalyst maintains relatively stable catalytic activities for a period of 20 h.

      • A combined spline chirplet transform and local maximum synchrosqueezing technique for structural instantaneous frequency identification

        Spline chirplet transform and local maximum synchrosqueezing are introduced to present a novel structural instantaneous frequency (IF) identification method named local maximum synchrosqueezing spline chirplet transform (LMSSSCT). Namely spline chirplet transform (SCT), a transform is firstly introduced based on classic chirplet transform and spline interpolated kernel function. Applying SCT in association with local maximum synchrosqueezing, the LMSSSCT is then proposed. The index of accuracy and Rényi entropy show that LMSSSCT outperforms the other time-frequency analysis (TFA) methods in processing analytical signals, especially in the presence of noise. Numerical examples of a Duffing nonlinear system with single degree of freedom and a two-layer shear frame structure with time-varying stiffness are used to verify the effectiveness of structural IF identification. Moreover, a nonlinear supported beam structure test is conducted and the LMSSSCT is utilized for structural IF identification. Numerical simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the presented LMSSSCT can effectively identify the IFs of nonlinear structures and time-varying structures with good accuracy and stability.

        Application of Bacteriostatic Agents in Tea Transgene

        Agrobacteria, generally existing in the soil, is a kind of gram-negative bacteria, including Agrobacterium tumefaciems and Agrobaterium rhizogenes. It is necessary to use bacteriostatic agents to eliminate the Agrobacterium after co-cultivation in Agrobacterium-mediated method. Bacteriostatic agents probably changed the composition of culture media and affecte the regeneration of the tissues, which would reduce transformation efficiency. Therefore, it is very important to choose suitable antibiotics. This paper reviewed the application of bacteriostatic agents in plants genetic transformation to provide a reference for tea transgene. Timentin might be an alternative antibiotic in plant transformation, especially for tea.

        창의성 마인드셋, 목표지향성, 창의적 자기효능감, 영역 창의성의 구조적 관계

        본 연구 목적은 중국 대학생의 창의성 마인드셋, 목표지향성, 창의적 자기효능감, 영역 창의성 간의 구조적인 관계를 규명하고, 목표지향성과 창의적 자기효능감의 이중매개효과를 알아보는 데 있다. 중국 대학생 805명을 대상으로 하였으며, 영역 창의성은 학문, 과학, 예술 영역을 대상으로 하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 창의성장 마인드셋은 숙달목표지향성, 수행목표지향성, 창의적 자기효능감, 그리고 학문적, 과학적, 예술적 창의성에 직접적인 영향을 미치고, 숙달목표지향성을 매개로 학문, 예술적 창의성에 간접적 영향을, 창의적 자기효능감을 매개로 학문적, 과학적, 예술적 창의성에 간접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 창의고정 마인드셋은 학문, 과학적 창의성에만 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 창의고정 마인드셋은 숙달목표지향성을 매개로 학문적, 과학적, 예술적 창의성에 부적 영향을 미쳤고, 수행목표지향성을 매개로 과학적 창의성에 부적 영향, 예술적 창의성에는 정적으로 간접 효과가 나타났다. 셋째, 창의성 마인드셋과 영역 창의성 간의 관계에서 목표지향성과 창의적 자기효능감의 이중 매개효과는 숙달목표지향성과 자기효능감의 경로에서만 유의하였고, 수행목표지향성과 자기효능감의 경로는 유의하지 않았다. 본 연구를 통해 창의성의 변화신념을 갖는 것이 영역 창의성을 향상시키는 데 유익함을 확인하였다. 마지막으로 본 연구에 대한 의의와 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 하였다. This study examines the relationship between creative mindset and domain-specific creativity and the role of goal orientation and creative self-efficacy in doble-mediating the relation. The research data were collected from 805 Chinese university students. The results found that (1) the growth creative mindset had a direct effect on mastery goal orientation, performance goal orientation, creative self-efficacy, and domains of creativity (Scholarly, Scientific, Artistic), indirect effect on domains of creativity (Scholarly, Artistic) through mastery goal orientation, and an indirect effect on domains of creativity (Scholarly, Scientific, Artistic) through creative self-efficacy. (2) The fixed creative mindset had a direct effect on domains of creativity (Scholarly, Scientific) only. Also, the fixed creative mindset had a negative effect on domains of creativity (Scholarly, Scientific, Artistic) through mastery goal orientation and a negative effect on domain of creativity (Scientific) and positive effect on domain of creativity (Artistic) through performance goal orientation. (3) In the relationship between creativity mindset and domains of creativity, the doble-mediating effect of goal orientation and creative self-efficacy was significant only in the path of mastery goal orientation and self-efficacy, but not in the path of performance goal orientation and self-efficacy. Therefore, the growth creative mindset is beneficial to enhance domains of creativity. The significance of this study and suggestions for future research are discussed.

      • Diagnosis on improved electrocatalytic activity of La<sub>2</sub>Ni<sub>0.8</sub>Cu<sub>0.2</sub>O<sub>4+δ</sub> electrodes towards oxygen reduction reaction

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>La<SUB>2</SUB>Ni<SUB>0.8</SUB>Cu<SUB>0.2</SUB>O<SUB>4+δ</SUB> electrodes with different thicknesses were prepared on Ce<SUB>0.8</SUB>Sm<SUB>0.2</SUB>O<SUB>1.9</SUB> electrolyte using screen printing technique. The electrocatalytic activity of La<SUB>2</SUB>Ni<SUB>0.8</SUB>Cu<SUB>0.2</SUB>O<SUB>4+δ</SUB> electrodes towards oxygen reduction reaction was investigated in comparison with La<SUB>2</SUB>NiO<SUB>4+δ</SUB> electrode. To understand the electrocatalytic activity of the two electrodes, chemical states of constituent elements on the surface of La<SUB>2</SUB>NiO<SUB>4+δ</SUB> and La<SUB>2</SUB>Ni<SUB>0.8</SUB>Cu<SUB>0.2</SUB>O<SUB>4+δ</SUB> were analyzed using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy technique. La<SUB>2</SUB>Ni<SUB>0.8</SUB>Cu<SUB>0.2</SUB>O<SUB>4+δ</SUB> electrodes sintered at 920°C exhibited improved electrocatalytic activity relative to literature results of the electrodes sintered at higher temperatures (e.g. 1200°C). The Cu doping in La<SUB>2</SUB>NiO<SUB>4+δ</SUB> was validated to be effective in enhancing electrocatalytic activity. The electrocatalytic activity of La<SUB>2</SUB>Ni<SUB>0.8</SUB>Cu<SUB>0.2</SUB>O<SUB>4+δ</SUB> electrodes was found to be dependent on their thickness. Optimal electrocatalytic activity was achieved for the electrode with a thickness of 10μm, showing a polarization resistance of 0.13Ω cm<SUP>2</SUP> at 800°C. The effects of Cu doping and electrode thickness were diagnosed with respect to contributions of involved electrode reaction steps.
