        LncRNA A2M-AS1 lessens the injury of cardiomyocytes caused by hypoxia and reoxygenation via regulating IL1R2

        Background: Myocardial ischemia and reperfusion injury (MI/RI) is a complex pathophysiological process, which can lead to severe myocardial injury. The long noncoding RNA alpha-2-macroglobulin antisense RNA 1 (A2M-AS1) has been revealed to be abnormally expressed in MI, However, its function in MI and the potential mechanism are still unclear. Objective: To evaluate the functional role of A2M-AS1 in hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R)-induced neonatal cardiomyocytes and its potential molecular mechanism. Methods: Dataset GSE66360 was obtained from GEO database for analyzing the RNA expression of A2M-AS1 and interleukin 1 receptor type 2 (IL1R2). KEGG pathway enrichment analysis of the genes that co-expressed with A2M-AS1 was performed. Human neonatal cardiomyocytes were subjected to H/R to construct in vitro models. QRT-PCR and Western blot were adopted to test the levels of mRNA and protein. The viability and apoptosis of cardiomyocytes were tested by CCK-8 and flow cytometry assays, respectively. Results: The expression of A2M-AS1 was notably downregulated in H/R-treated cardiomyocytes. Overexpression of A2M-AS1 can notably enhance the cell viability of H/R-damaged cardiomyocytes, whereas knockdown of A2M-AS1 showed the opposite outcomes. Besides, a negative correlation was showed between A2M-AS1 and IL1R2 expression. In H/R-treated cardiomyocytes, overexpression of IL1R2 weakened the promoting proliferation and anti-apoptosis effects caused by overexpressing A2M-AS1, however, IL1R2-knockdown abolished the anti-proliferation and pro-apoptosis effects caused by silencing A2M-AS1. Conclusion: This study demonstrates the potential regulatory role of A2M-AS1/ IL1R2 axis in cardiomyocytes suffered from H/R, and provides insight into the protection of MI/RI.

        High­risk human papillomavirus genotype distribution and attribution to cervical cancer and precancerous lesions in a rural Chinese population

        Objective: To explore the genotype distribution of high-risk human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) and its attribution to different grades of cervical lesions in rural China, which will contribute to type-specific HPV screening tests and the development of new polyvalent HPV vaccines among the Chinese population. Methods: One thousand two hundred ninety-two subjects were followed based on the Shanxi Province Cervical Cancer Screening Study I (SPOCCS-I), and screened by HPV DNA testing (hybrid capture® 2 [HC2]), liquid-based cytology (LBC), and if necessary, directed or random colposcopy-guided quadrant biopsies. HPV genotyping with linear inverse probe hybridization (SPF10-PCR-LiPA) was performed in HC2 positive specimens. Attribution of specific HR-HPV type to different grades of cervical lesions was estimated using a fractional contribution approach. Results: After excluding incomplete data, 1,274 women were included in the final statistical analysis. Fifteen point two percent (194/1,274) of women were HR-HPV positive for any of 13 HR-HPV types (HPV16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 59, and 68) and the most common HR-HPV types were HPV16 (19.1%) and HPV52 (16.5%). The genotypes most frequently detected in HR-HPV-positive cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 1 (CIN1) were HPV52 (24.1%), HPV31 (20.7%), HPV16 (13.8%), HPV33 (13.8%), HPV39 (10.3%), and HPV56 (10.3%); in HR-HPV-positive cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 2 or worse (CIN2+): HPV16 (53.1%), HPV58 (15.6%), HPV33 (12.5%), HPV51 (9.4%), and HPV52 (6.3%). HPV52, 31, 16, 33, 39, and 56 together contributed to 89.7% of HR-HPV-positive CIN1, and HPV16, 33, 58, 51, and 52 together contributed to 87.5% of CIN2+. Conclusion: In summary, we found substantial differences in prevalence and attribution of CINs between different oncogenic HPV types in a rural Chinese population, especially for HPV16, 31, 33, 52, and 58. These differences may be relevant for both clinical management and the design of preventive strategies.

        Association Analysis of Tissue Factor Pathway Inhibitor Polymorphisms and Haplotypes with Osteonecrosis of the Femoral Head in the Korean Population

        Thrombophilia and hypofibrinolysis have been implicated in the pathogenesis of osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH). Tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI), a multivalent protease inhibitor, is an important regulator of the tissue factor-mediated blood coagulation pathway. Mutations of the TFPI gene can increase the risk of thrombin generation and venous thrombosis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the association of TFPI gene polymorphisms with ONFH. All exons and their boundaries of the TFPI gene, including the -1,500 bp promoter region, were directly sequenced in 24 Korean individuals and four sequence variants were identified. These four polymorphisms [-51096 G > A (C-399T), -50984A > G (T-287C), + 24999A > G (Int7 -33T > C), + 37339T > A] were genotyped in 474 ONFH patients and 349 control subjects. The association of genotyped SNPs with ONFH was not found in the present study. The haplotype AAAT of TFPI was significantly associated with total, alcohol-induced, and idiopathic ONFH (p = 0.003, 0.021, and 0.007, respectively), and the haplotype GAAT was significantly associated with total and alcohol ONFH (p = 0.022 and 0.009, respectively). In addition, a new SNP + 37339 T > A in the 3'-UTR of the TFPI gene, was found in the Korean population. To date, this study is the first to show that haplotypes of the TFPI gene are associated with an increased susceptibility for ONFH. The results suggest that genetic variations in TFPI may play an important role in the pathogenesis and risk factors of ONFH.

        Is SMCP Used at Sea? A Linguistic Approach to SMCP and VTS Textbooks Used in China and Korea

        Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) textbooks should adhere as closely as possible to the Standard Marine Communication Phrases (SMCP) set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). The purpose of the present paper is to examine English linguistic features in VTS textbooks used in China and Korea in comparison with the SMCP in order to determine the degree to which these textbooks adopt and utilize the SMCP. Textbooks used by VTS operators in China and Korea and the SMCP were separately edited and compiled into corpora. In analyzing the data, both quantitative and qualitative approaches were adopted. Software WordSmith 5.0 was utilized to retrieve statistical information and concordance samples. The findings show that the lexico-grammatical patterns in the Chinese and Korean VTS textbooks generally deviate from the formulas of SMCP. The results of the study are expected to help in the design of VTS textbooks and to standardize Maritime English.

        Research Progress and Trends of ASEAN-China Agricultural Products-Visual Knowledge Graph Analysis Based on CiteSpace

        In order to objectively grasp the research hotspots and development trend of ASEAN-China agricultural products, this paper uses 646 articles on ASEAN-China agricultural products collected in CNKI database from 2002 to 2022 as the data source, draws the knowledge map using CiteSpace bibliometric software, and conducts visual analysis. The research themes of agricultural products are divided into two stages: before and after the introduction of belt and road; the research hotspots are shifted along 11 themes: zero tariff, countermeasures, trade effects, impact factors, binary margin, hog products, cotton imports, export value, and trade potential, belt and road and ternary margin. Based on this, we provide scientific theoretical guidance and suggestions to further deepen the research on ASEAN-China agricultural products.

        A Study on the Organizational Culture and Performance of Xiaomi Corporation

        Most internet companies in China are learning from Xiaomi Corporation's management model and to improving their organizational structures and human resource management practices. This study analyzed the development situation of Chinese Internet economy and the Internet thinking of Xiaomi which is a role model of Chinese Internet companies. In addition, we studied Xiaomi's organizational structure, human resource management, employee training, performance management and incentive system. In particular, Xiaomi's human resource management system has a great influence on the company's high performance and efficient service culture. Furthermore, the organization of Xiaomi is horizontally divided into three floors (7 key founders, department heads, and employees), each floor is managed by one founder. Xiaomi is interested in and considers not only the work of new employees, but also personal issues, and is concerned with the work of others in performance management and shares responsibility. Xiaomi adopts a unique and rational human resource management model, guaranteeing a lot of work autonomy for employees, and improving organizational performance.

        Asiatic Acid Induces Colon Cancer Cell Growth Inhibition and Apoptosis through Mitochondrial Death Cascade

        <P>Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in the world. The triterpenoid compound asiatic acid derived from the tropical medicinal plant <I>Centella asiatica</I> displays cytotoxic activity on fibroblast cells and several other kinds of cells. The present work studies asiatic acid-mediated growth inhibition of cancer cells and the underlying mechanism. Asiatic acid markedly inhibited cancer cell proliferation. Apoptosis of SW480 human colon cancer cells was induced by asiatic acid as shown by flow cytometry, DNA fragmentation and nuclear chromatin condensation experiments. Through increasing mitochondrial membrane permeability and cytochrome <I>c</I> release from mitochondria into cytosol, asiatic acid induced caspase-9 activity, which further activated caspase-3 and poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase cleavage resulting in irreversible apoptotic death in the tumor cells. Taken together, these results suggest that mitochondrial death apoptosis cascade plays very important roles in asiatic acid-induced cancer apoptosis.</P>

        Preparation of ZnO Nanoparticles by Combustion Method and Their Gas Sensing Properties

        In this study, ZnO nanoparticles were fabricated using a simpleand novel combustion method without calcination. The sensormaterial was structurally and morphologically characterizedusing simultaneous differential scanning calorimetry (DSC),thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), x-ray diffraction (XRD),scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Thesample containing 3 mol tartaric acid (ZTC-3) exhibitedexcellent ethanol sensing properties at the optimum temperatureof 330°C. The relationships among the gas response, temperature,response time (recovery time), concentration, and gas specieswere investigated. The ZTC-3 exhibited response and recoverytimes of 7 and 38 s to 100 ppm ethanol, as well as excellentresponse and good selectivity to ethanol gas. Such a ZnOnanoparticle structure could be potentially use for fabricatingethanol sensors.
