M-type ferrite Sr0.1Ca0.4La0.5Fe12O19 magnetic powders doped with CoxFe3-xO4 (0 ≤ x ≤ 1.25) in precursors were prepared bya ceramics process. The structure of specimens were examined by using an X-ray diffractometer. Only the magnetoplumbitephase was found in the specimens with the cobalt content (x) from 0.25 to 1.25 in precursor. The specimens exhibited a typicalhexagonal M-type structure and the particles in specimens were uniformly distributed in size. The specimen with x=1.25 hadthe maximum saturation magnetization of 67.48 emu/g, while the residual magnetization and the coercivity of the specimenwith x=1.00 reached the maximum value of 31.83 emu/g and 1270 Oe, respectively.

The M-type ferrite Sr0.1Ca0.4La0.5Fe12O19 magnetic powders with different ZnFe2O4 substitution amounts (Rm, 0, 1%, 3%, 5%,7%, and 9%) were obtained using a ceramic process. The structure of specimens were examined by using an X-raydiffractometer. All the specimens exhibited a typical single-phase hexagonal M-type structure, and the particles in specimenswere uniformly distributed in size. The VSM study indicated the specimen with Rm=9% had the maximum saturationmagnetization of 70.22 emu/g, and the residual magnetization and the coercivity of specimens increased firstly and decreasedlater with the increase of Rm. The specimen with Rm=3% exhibits the best comprehensive magnetic properties.
Structural, magnetic properties of nickel-substituted strontium W-type ferrites

Nickel substituted W-type strontium ferrites Sr0.9Ce0.1Zn2-xNixFe16O27 (x=0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0) were prepared by aceramic method. The specimens exhibited a single-phase W-type structure when the Ni content (x) is 0 ≤ x ≤ 1. With theincreasing content of nickel dopant, the particles exhibited a hexagonal plate-like shape. The saturation magnetization andremanent magnetization increased x from 0.0 to 0.6, then decreased with x > 0.6. The coercivity of specimens increasedgradually for x ≤ 0.2 and then began to decrease from x = 0.3; the coercivity shows a downward trend with the Ni contentcontinuing to increase. Subsequently, as the Ni content increases, there is a downward trend compared to the unsubstitutedspecimens.
A novel preparation and formation mechanism of carbon nanotubes aerogel

A novel, unique, and effective method for carbon nanotube (CNT) dispersion by the free arc stimulation is proposed. CNTs are introduced as an aerogel into the air space via the dispersion method and can be utilized as a solution by adding it to solvents. The volume of the original generated CNT aerogel with a high-volume expansion ratio displays a performance two orders of magnitudes better than that of raw CNTs, which is considered a powerful characterization of the dispersion effect. The CNT aerogel, which was observed by scanning electron microscopy also showed a satisfactory dispersion morphology. Its structure and properties were tested before and after dispersion by Raman spectroscopy and great consistency was observed, which proved that the CNTs were undamaged. This approach may greatly promote the large-scale application of CNTs.

The main functions of the epithelial sodium channel (ENaC) in the kidney distal nephron are mediation of sodium and water balance and stabilization of blood pressure. Estrogen has important effects on sodium and water balance and on premenopausal blood pressure, but its role in the regulation of ENaC function is not fully understood. Female Sprague–Dawley rats were treated with 17β-estradiol for 6 weeks following bilateral ovariectomy. Plasma estrogen, aldosterone, creatinine, and electrolytes were analyzed, and α-ENaC and derlin-1 protein expression in the kidney was determined by immunohistochemistry and western blotting. The expression levels of α-ENaC, derlin-1, AMPK, and related molecules were also examined by western blotting and real-time PCR in cultured mouse renal collecting duct (mpkCCDc14) epithelial cells following estrogen treatment. Immunofluorescence and coimmunoprecipitation were performed to detect α-ENaC binding with derlin-1 and α-ENaC ubiquitination. The results demonstrated that the loss of estrogen elevated systolic blood pressure in ovariectomized (OVX) rats. OVX rat kidneys showed increased α-ENaC expression but decreased derlin-1 expression. In contrast, estrogen treatment decreased α-ENaC expression but increased derlin-1 expression in mpkCCDc14 cells. Moreover, estrogen induced α-ENaC ubiquitination by promoting the interaction of α-ENaC with derlin-1 and evoked phosphorylation of AMPK in mpkCCDc14 cells. Our study indicates that estrogen reduces ENaC expression and blood pressure in OVX rats through derlin-1 upregulation and AMPK activation.
