        Electromagnetic Analysis and Optimization for a Dual-Rotor Switched Reluctance Machine

        A dual-rotor switched reluctance motor is proposed in this paper. The structure and working principle of the motor are introduced in detail. The structural parameters have great influence on the performance of the motor, so sensitivity analysis of several important structural parameters to the output torque is carried out based on the two-dimensional finite element method, which improves the average torque of the rotor in the outer air gap. Additionally, the performance of the motor with various pole distributions is analyzed and compared. The results show that when the magnetic polarity distribution of the outer stator is NSNSNSNSNSNS and the magnetic polarity distribution of the inner rotor is NSNSNS, the motor has the best performance. The torque of the motor is compared with that of the traditional single-rotor switched reluctance motor. It shows that the performance of the motor proposed in this paper is better.

        Latilactobacillus curvatus BYB3 Isolated from Kimchi Alleviates Dextran Sulfate Sodium (DSS)-Induced Colitis in Mice by Inhibiting IL-6 and TNF-R1 Production

        Recent studies have shown that probiotics have health-promoting effects, particularly intestinal immune modulation. In this study, we focused on the immunomodulatory properties of Latilactobacillus curvatus BYB3, formerly called Lactobacillus curvatus, isolated from kimchi. In a mouse model of 14-day dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis, treatment with L. curvatus BYB3 significantly decreased the disease activity index, colon length, and weight loss. Moreover, histological analyses showed that L. curvatus BYB3 protected the structural integrity of the intestinal epithelial layer and mucin-secreting goblet cells from DSS-induced damage, with only slight infiltration by immune cells. To evaluate the molecular mechanisms underlying L. curvatus BYB3-driven inhibition of interleukin 6 production, possible in vivo anti-inflammatory effects of L. curvatus BYB3 were examined in the same mouse model. In addition, significantly lower levels of IL-6 and tumor necrosis factor receptor 1 upregulation were seen in the DSS+BYB3 group (compared to that in the DSS group). These results indicate that L. curvatus BYB3 exhibits health-promoting effects via immune modulation; and therefore, it can be used to treat various inflammatory diseases.

      • A Dependence Stability Bound based on the VC Dimension for Relational Classification

        Relational classification (RC) is concerned with the application of statistical learning to relational data. RC models do not have improved stability to smooth the perturbations generated by variations in the correlation between the relational data. Therefore, few studies have attempted to derive a bound and develop a stability learning framework for RC models. To solve this problem, we derive a learning bound with a new measure dependence stability and a limited Vapnik–Chervonenkis (VC) dimension. Based on the learning bound, we then design a stable learning framework that serves as a guideline for the development of new learning algorithms for a broad class of RC models. Applying a Markov logic network on synthesized and real-world datasets, our experimental results demonstrate that our bound can be tight if the RC model has appropriate dependence stability and limited VC dimension and our learning framework increases the stability of RC models while reducing the deviation between empirical risk and true risk.

      • Mining Frequent Sub-hypergraph in an Uncertain Hypergraph for Knowledge Transfer

        The knowledge transfer learning can generalize across domains where the types of objects and variables are different. Previous studies ignored connectivity and creativity of domain knowledge. Thus, these studies just transfer knowledge from a source domain to a target domain that not effectively use the knowledge from other domains. We proposed a method, called Multi-domain second order knowledge integration (MSKI), for integrating to address this problem. We hybridize and create new knowledge, which is formalized into an uncertain hypergraph. Then, we proposed a method to mine frequent sub-hypergraph from the uncertain hypergraph (MFS-UHG). The frequent sub-hypergraphs are pivot knowledge, which has to be transferred with high priority. We embed the pivot knowledge in the progress of MLN structure learning. The experimental evaluation on four domain datasets shows that the MSKI outperforms state-of-the-art MLN-based transfer learning.

        Application of Three-Dimensional Solubility Parameter in Diffusion Behavior of Rubber-Solvent System and Its Predictive Power in Calculating the Key Parameters

        Three different rubbers, hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR), ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (EVM) and ethylene propylene diene rubber (EPDM), and two blends, HNBR/EVM and HNBR/EPDM were compounded both with and without fillers, and were vulcanized with the same peroxide curing system. Peppas- Sahlin model was used to explain the diffusion mechanism of solvents in rubber vulcanizates. Transport parameters including diffusion coefficient, sorption coefficient and permeation coefficient were calculated and correlated with Flory-Huggins interaction parameters (χ). The Peppas-Sahlin model dealing with diffusion behaviors of solvents shows high degree of fitting for both unfilled and filled rubber-solvent systems. With the addition of carbon black, the diffusion coefficient increases while the sorption and permeation coefficients decrease. The sorption coefficient increases linearly with the permeation coefficient. New Flory-Huggins interaction parameter (χN) calculated by threedimensional solubility parameters shows better predictive power in diffusion behaviors than the traditional one (χT). By mathematical fitting, a linear relationship can be obtained between the maximum swelling ratio and χN, while an exponential relationship is gained for the permeation coefficient. The discovery of this rule connects three-dimensional solubility parameters with the swelling of polymer in solvent, which provides experimental basis for the further study of the medium resistance of polymer.

        Achievable Sum Rate Analysis of ZF Receivers in 3D MIMO Systems

        Three-dimensional multiple-input multiple-output (3D MIMO) and large-scale MIMO are two promising technologies for upcoming high data rate wireless communications, since the inter-user interference can be reduced by exploiting antenna vertical gain and degree of freedom, respectively. In this paper, we derive the achievable sum rate of 3D MIMO systems employing zero-forcing (ZF) receivers, accounting for log-normal shadowing fading, path-loss and antenna gain. In particular, we consider the prevalent log-normal model and propose a novel closed-form lower bound on the achievable sum rate exploiting elevation features. Using the lower bound as a starting point, we pursue the "large-system" analysis and derive a closed-form expression when the number of antennas grows large for fixed average transmit power and fixed total transmit power schemes. We further model a high-building with several floors. Due to the floor height, different floors correspond to different elevation angles. Therefore, the asymptotic achievable sum rate performances for each floor and the whole building considering the elevation features are analyzed and the effects of tilt angle and user distribution for both horizontal and vertical dimensions are discussed. Finally, the relationship between the achievable sum rate and the number of users is investigated and the optimal number of users to maximize the sum rate performance is determined.

        Facilely tuning the surface wettability of Cu mesh for multi-functional applications

        The Cu meshes with reversible super-wettability have multifunctions of self-cleaning, oil–water separation,floating-oil collection and underwater oil lossless-transportation. However, the facile method totune the surface wettability and prepare reversibly super-wetting Cu meshes remains a great challenge. In this work, one-step chemical-etching method was used to construct the hierarchically-structured CuOof nano-sheets and micro-clusters on Cu meshes to provide suitable surface roughness essential forsuper-wettability. The surface wettability of Cu mesh was then facilely tuned by controlling the adsorptionand desorption of C-containing species at the Cu mesh surface through C-rich ambience storage andIR irradiation for short duration. The super-wetting transition of Cu meshes betweensuperhydrophobicity/superoleophilicity and superhydrophilicity/underwater-superoleophobicity couldrepeat for many cycles. Moreover, the super-wetting Cu meshes demonstrated excellent mechanical,physical and chemical stabilities. The switchable super-wettability endowed the Cu meshes with integratedmulti-functions, which demonstrated remarkable performance of self-cleaning, oil–water separation,floating-oil collection and underwater oil lossless-transportation. This study suggests that utilizingC-rich ambience storage and IR irradiation to control the content of C-containing species at the Cu meshsurface is a facile and effective way to tune the surface wettability of Cu meshes, which can be easilyextended to realize super-wettability transition of various materials.

        Catalytic Hydrogenation of Alkali Lignin Into Bio-Oil via Nano-Lamellar MoSe2-Based Composite Catalysts

        In this research, a series of catalysts based on MoSe2 were synthesized by the hydrothermal method and used for the catalytic hydrogenation of alkali lignin for the first time. For 4 wt.% NiSe2/MoSe2 catalyst, at 290 ℃, under 2MPa H2 pressure for 1.5 h, the conversion of alkali lignin and the yield of bio-oil reached 96.47% and 93.68%, respectively. In addition, the composition of the product (bio-oil) was analyzed via Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometry, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) spectra, and proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1HNMR) spectra. Finally, our study demonstrated that those MoSe2-based composite catalysts can effectively degrade the biomass into bio-oil containing valuable chemical products.

        Capacity Bounds on the Ergodic Capacity of Distributed MIMO Systems over K Fading Channels

        The performance of D-MIMO systems is not only affected by multipath fading but also from shadowing fading, as well as path loss. In this paper, we investigate the ergodic capacity of D-MIMO systems operating in non-correlated fading (Rayleigh/Gamma) channels. With the aid of majorization and Minkowski theory, we derive analytical closed-form expressions of the upper and lower bounds on the ergodic capacity for D-MIMO systems over non-correlated K fading channels, which are quite general and applicable for arbitrary signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and the number of transceiver antennas. To intuitively reveal the impacts of system and fading parameters on the ergodic capacity, we deduce asymptotic approximations in the high and low SNR regimes. Finally, we pursue the massive MIMO systems analysis for the lower bound and derive closed-form expressions when the number of antennas at BS grows large, and when the number of antennas at transceivers becomes large with a fixed and finite ratio. It is demonstrated that the proposed expressions on the ergodic capacity accurately match with the theoretical analysis.

        Synthesis of MoSe2/SrTiO3 Heterostructures with Enhanced Ultraviolet-Light-Driven and Visible-Light-Driven Photocatalytic Properties

        In this research, a series of novel MoSe2/SrTiO3 heterostructures were successfully prepared by a two-step hydrothermal method. The samples were characterized by XRD, UV-Vis, SEM, TEM, EDS and XPS. Results showed that the degradation of MO under UV is better than that under the visible light. And, MoSe2 loaded on SrTiO3 under UV irradiation demonstrated a higher catalytic activity. The degradation rate of methyl orange was 99.46% for MoSe2/SrTiO3 under the optimum loading weight (0.1 wt.%). This is mainly because the combination of MoSe2 and SrTiO3 prevents electrons and holes recombination in SrTiO3 and · O2 - appears in the system. In general, MoSe2/SrTiO3 heterostructures have good environmental friendliness for photocatalytic degradation.
