      • Indirect displacement monitoring of high-speed railway box girders consider bending and torsion coupling effects

        Xin Wang,Zhonglong Li,Yi Zhuo,Hao Di,Jianfeng Wei,Yuchen Li,Shunlong Li 국제구조공학회 2021 Smart Structures and Systems, An International Jou Vol.28 No.6

The dynamic displacement is considered to be an important indicator of structural safety, and becomes an indispensable part of Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) system for high-speed railway bridges. This paper proposes an indirect strain based dynamic displacement reconstruction methodology for high-speed railway box girders. For the typical box girders under eccentric train load, the plane section assumption and elementary beam theory is no longer applicable due to the bend-torsion coupling effects. The monitored strain was decoupled into bend and torsion induced strain, pre-trained multi-output support vector regression (M-SVR) model was employed for such decoupling process considering the sensor layout cost and reconstruction accuracy. The decoupled strained based displacement could be reconstructed respectively using box girder plate element analysis and mode superposition principle. For the transformation modal matrix has a significant impact on the reconstructed displacement accuracy, the modal order would be optimized using particle swarm algorithm (PSO), aiming to minimize the ill conditioned degree of transformation modal matrix and the displacement reconstruction error. Numerical simulation and dynamic load testing results show that the reconstructed displacement was in good agreement with the simulated or measured results, which verifies the validity and accuracy of the algorithm proposed in this paper.

Analysis of genetic diversity among indigenous landraces from sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) core collection in China as revealed by SRAP and SSR markers

        Yan‐xin Zhang,Wei Hua,Lin‐han Wang,Zhuo Che,Xiu‐rong Zhang 한국유전학회 2010 Genes & Genomics Vol.32 No.3

The molecular genetic diversity of 404 indigenous landraces from sesame core collection in China were evaluated by 11SRAP and 3 SSR markers, 175 fragments were generated, of which 126 were polymorphic with an average polymorphism rate of 72%. Jaccard’s genetic similarity coefficients (GS=0.7130), Nei's gene diversity (h=0.2418) and Shannon's Information index (I=0.3847) were calculated, a dendrogram of the 404 landraces was made, landraces from various zones were distributed throughout the dendrogram, accessions from different agro‐ecological zones were indistinguishable by cluster analysis, geographical separation did not generally result in greater genetic distance, a similar pattern was obtained using principal coordinates (PCO) analysis. As to seven agro‐ecological zones, the maximum Nei’s gene diversity (h = 0.2613)and Shannon index (I = 0.3980) values in zone VII indicated that they were genetically more diverse than those in other zones, while the least genetically diverse region was zone III (h = 0.1772, I = 0.2858). Nei's genetic identity and genetic distance among landraces from seven agro‐ecological zones were also analyzed, the genetic relationship of seven zones was inferred using the UPGMA method. This study demonstrated that SRAP and SSR markers were appropriate for evaluation of sesame genetic diversities. There existed extensive genetic diverse among indigenous landraces and the abundance of genetic diversity of landraces in different agro‐ecological zones was various. Understanding of these characteristics of indigenous landraces in China can provide theoretical foundation for further collection, effective protection and reasonable utilization of these sesame landraces in breeding.

Analysis of the Mechanical Properties of Epoxy Resin Matrix Composites upon Multi-scale Synergistic Strengthening and Toughening

        Keshan Liang,Xin Li,Zhuo Wang,Li Tang,Yujun Cao 한국고분자학회 2023 폴리머 Vol.47 No.2

A multi-scale synergistic modification technology is proposed to strengthen and toughen epoxy resin matrix composites, which can be used in the direct extrusion fabrication process. The toughness performance of epoxy resin matrix composites can be improved without compromising other advantages by adding micrometer- and nanometer-scale fillers to the matrix and optimizing the content of fillers, surface treatment process, dispersion method, and other parameters. We analyzed and discussed the mechanical properties of epoxy-based composites with micrometer-scale fillers, nanometer-scale fillers, and mixed multi-scale fillers. When 15 phr carbon fibers (15CFs), 6 phr rubber nanoparticles (6RNPs), and 1 phr carbon nanotubes (1CNTs) are added to epoxy resins (EPs), the tensile strength reached 91.6 MPa, 28.8% higher than that of the pure EPs; the achieved elastic modulus 4.72 GPa, 77.4% higher than the pure EPs; the fracture toughness was 2.97 MPa m1/2, 241.4% of the pure EPs, while the impact strength reached 63.4 kJ/m2, 369.6% higher than the pure EPs. The results show that the multi-scale reinforcements exhibit a synergistic effect on the strength and toughness of the composites.

Dynamic deflection monitoring of high-speed railway bridges with the optimal inclinometer sensor placement

        Shunlong Li,Xin Wang,Hongzhan Liu,Yi Zhuo,Wei Su,Hao Di 국제구조공학회 2020 Smart Structures and Systems, An International Jou Vol.26 No.5

Dynamic deflection monitoring is an essential and critical part of structural health monitoring for high-speed railway bridges. Two critical problems need to be addressed when using inclinometer sensors for such applications. These include constructing a general representation model of inclination-deflection and addressing the ill-posed inverse problem to obtain the accurate dynamic deflection. This paper provides a dynamic deflection monitoring method with the placement of optimal inclinometer sensors for high-speed railway bridges. The deflection shapes are reconstructed using the inclination-deflection transformation model based on the differential relationship between the inclination and displacement mode shape matrix. The proposed optimal sensor configuration can be used to select inclination-deflection transformation models that meet the required accuracy and stability from all possible sensor locations. In this study, the condition number and information entropy are employed to measure the ill-condition of the selected mode shape matrix and evaluate the prediction performance of different sensor configurations. The particle swarm optimization algorithm, genetic algorithm, and artificial fish swarm algorithm are used to optimize the sensor position placement. Numerical simulation and experimental validation results of a 5-span high-speed railway bridge show that the reconstructed deflection shapes agree well with those of the real bridge.

Ganodermanontriol Suppresses the Progression of Lung Adenocarcinoma by Activating CES2 to Enhance the Metabolism of Mycophenolate Mofetil

( Qingfeng Xie ),( Zhuo Cao ),( Weiling You ),( Xiaoping Cai ),( Mei Shen ),( Zhangyong Yin ),( Yiwei Jiang ),( Xin Wang ),( Siyu Ye ) 한국미생물생명공학회 2024 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.34 No.2

New anti-lung cancer therapies are urgently required to improve clinical outcomes. Since ganodermanontriol (GDNT) has been identified as a potential antineoplastic agent, its role in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is investigated in this study. Concretely, lung cancer cells were treated with GDNT and/or mycophenolate mofetil (MMF), after which MTT assay, flow cytometry and Western blot were conducted. Following bioinformatics analysis, carboxylesterase 2 (CES2) was knocked down and rescue assays were carried out in vitro. Xenograft experiment was performed on mice, followed by drug administration, measurement of tumor growth and determination of CES2, IMPDH1 and IMPDH2 expressions. As a result, the viability of lung cancer cells was reduced by GDNT or MMF. GDNT enhanced the effects of MMF on suppressing viability, promoting apoptosis and inducing cell cycle arrest in lung cancer cells. GDNT up-regulated CES2 level, and strengthened the effects of MMF on down-regulating IMPDH1 and IMPDH2 levels in the cells. IMPDH1 and IMPDH2 were highly expressed in LUAD samples. CES2 was a potential target for GDNT. CES2 knockdown reversed the synergistic effect of GDNT and MMF against lung cancer in vitro. GDNT potentiated the role of MMF in inhibiting tumor growth and expressions of CES2 and IMPDH1/2 in lung cancer in vivo. Collectively, GDNT suppresses the progression of LUAD by activating CES2 to enhance the metabolism of MMF.

Rheological and Printable Behavior of Epoxy Resin-based Materials for Extrusion 3D Printing Applications

        Jianzhong Shang,Xin Li,Rong Wang,Zhuo Wang 한국고분자학회 2017 폴리머 Vol.41 No.5

This study investigates rheological and extrusion behavior of thermosetting epoxy resins. The purpose is to find the universal property and printing parameters for extrusion based rapid prototyping applications. The thickener proportion greatly influences its viscosity and rheological behavior and therefore plays an important role in the shape of the cross-section of the extrudate. In addition to the effects of the rheological behavior of the composite, shape maintenance and its wettability on the substrate, the cross-sectional geometry of the extrudate is also strongly affected by printing process parameters including the extrusion nozzle height, nozzle moving speed, extrusion rate, and critical nozzle height. Proper combinations of these process parameters are necessary in order to obtain single line extrudates with plump crosssections and 3D objects with dimensional accuracy, uniform wall thickness, good wall uprightness, and no wall slumping. Formulas and procedures for determining these extrusion parameters are proposed and demonstrated in experiments.

      • Efficacy of Taxane-Based Regimens in a First-line Setting for Recurrent and/or Metastatic Chinese Patients with Esophageal Cancer

        Jiang, Chang,Liao, Fang-Xin,Rong, Yu-Ming,Yang, Qiong,Yin, Chen-Xi,He, Wen-Zhuo,Cai, Xiu-Yu,Guo, Gui-Fang,Qiu, Hui-Juan,Chen, Xu-Xian,Zhang, Bei,Xia, Liang-Ping Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.13

Objective: To compare the efficacy of taxane-based regimens in the first line setting retrospectively in Chinese patients with recurrent and/or metastatic esophageal cancer. Methods: We analyzed 102 recurrent and/or metastatic esophageal cancer patients who received taxanes-based regimens in a first-line setting from January 2009 to December 2013. Sixteen (15.7%) patients were administered Nab-PTX based chemotherapy and 86 patients (84.3%) received paclitaxel (PTX) or docetaxel (DTX) based chemotherapy. Patients in the PTX/DTX group could be further divided into TP (71 patients) and TPF (15 patients) groups. Results: The objective response rate (ORR) of all patients was 20.6%, and the disease control rate (DCR) was 67.6%. The median overall survival (OS) was 10.5 months (95% CI 10.1-16.4) and the median progression-free survival (PFS) was 6.04 months (95% CI 5.09-7.91). The DCR was higher in the TPF group than the TP group (93.3% vs. 59.1%; p = 0.015 ). There were no significant differences in ORR, OS, and PFS among Nab-PTX, TPF and TP groups. Conclusions: The three regimens of Nab-PTX based, TP and TPF proved active in a first line setting of Chinese patients with recurrent and/or metastatic esophageal cancer, and should thus be regarded as alternative treatments.

      • Differential Expression of IQGAP1/2 in Hepatocellular Carcinoma and its Relationship with Clinical Outcomes

        Xia, Fa-Da,Wang, Zhuo-Lu,Chen, Hong-Xi,Huang, Yun,Li, Jin-Dong,Wang, Zhi-Ming,Li, Xin-Ying Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.12

Purpose: To investigate IQGAP1 and IQGAP2 expression in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and itsassociation with HCC clinicopathological characteristics and survival outcomes. Methods: IQGAP1 and IQGAP2 mRNA and protein were measured in HCC tissues, para-tumor tissues and normal tissues by RT-PCR and Western blotting. We further examined 150 HCC samples with adjacent para-tumor tissues and 11 normal specimens by immunohistochemistry to evaluate the correlation of IQGAP1 and IQGAP2 with clinicopathological features and prognosis. Results: IQGAP1 mRNA and protein were up-regulated while IQGAP2 mRNA and protein were down-regulated in human HCC tissues compared with para-tumor and normal liver tissues (p<0.05). IQGAP1 expression was higher in primary HCC (122/150, 81.3%) than matched adjacent tissues (30/150, 20%, p<0.001), whereas IQGAP2 was lower (31/150, 20.7% as compared to 112/150, 74.7%, P<0.001). Positive IQGAP1 expression correlated with larger tumor size (p=0.002), advanced TNM stage (p=0.002) and tumor differentiation (III and IV, p=0.034). Negative IQGAP2 expression was significantly associated with larger tumor size (p=0.009), multicentric tumor occurrence (p=0.01), advanced TNM stage (0.009) and tumor differentiation (III and IV, p=0.020). Survival analysis revealed that patients with either IQGAP1+ or IQGAP2-tumors had significantly reduced disease-free survival (p<0.001 and 0.006 respectively) and overall survival (p<0.001 for both). Multivariate analysis showed that IQGAP1/2 switch was an independent prognosis factor for disease-free survival (HR=2.824) and overall survival (HR=2.189). Conclusion: Positive IQGAP1 and negative IQGAP2 expression were closely correlated with tumor progression and could be used as adjunctive biomarkers to improve prognostication for HCC patients.

      • Application of Human Papillomavirus in Screening for Cervical Cancer and Precancerous Lesions

Wang, Jin-Liang,Yang, Yi-Zhuo,Dong, Wei-Wei,Sun, Jing,Tao, Hai-Tao,Li, Rui-Xin,Hu, Yi Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.5

Cervical cancer is a commonly-encountered malignant tumor in women. Cervical screening is particularly important due to early symptoms being deficient in specificity. The main purpose of the study is to assess the application value of cervical thinprep cytologic test (TCT) and human papillomavirus (HPV) detection in screening for cervical cancer and precancerous lesions. In the study, cervical TCT and HPV detection were simultaneously performed on 12,500 patients selected in a gynecological clinic. Three hundred patients with positive results demonstrated by cervical TCT and/or HPV detection underwent cervical tissue biopsy under colposcopy, and pathological results were considered as the gold standard. The results revealed that 200 out of 12,500 patients were abnormal by TCT, in which 30 cases pertained to equivocal atypical squamous cells (ASCUS), 80 cases to low squamous intraepithelial lesion (LSIL), 70 cases to high squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL) and 20 cases to squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). With increasing pathological grade of cervical biopsy, however, TCT positive rates did not rise. Two hundred and eighty out of 12,500 patients were detected as positive for HPV infection, in which 50 cases were chronic cervicitis and squamous metaplasia, 70 cases cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) I, 60 cases CIN II, 70 cases CIN III and 30 cases invasive cervical carcinoma. Two hundred and thirty patients with high-risk HPV infection were detected. With increase in pathological grade, the positive rate of high-risk HPV also rose. The detection rates of HPV detection to CIN III and invasive cervical carcinoma as well as the total detection rate of lesions were significantly higher than that of TCT. Hence, HPV detection is a better method for screening of cervical cancer at present.

Discrimination of neutrons and gamma-rays in plastic scintillator based on spiking cortical model

        Liu Bing-Qi,Liu Hao-Ran,Chang Lan,Cheng Yu-Xin,Zuo Zhuo,Li Peng 한국원자력학회 2023 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.55 No.9

In this study, a spiking cortical model (SCM) based n-g discrimination method is proposed. The SCMbased algorithm is compared with three other methods, namely: (i) the pulse-coupled neural network (PCNN), (ii) the charge comparison, and (iii) the zero-crossing. The objective evaluation criteria used for the comparison are the FoM-value and the time consumption of discrimination. Experimental results demonstrated that our proposed method outperforms the other methods significantly with the highest FoM-value. Specifically, the proposed method exhibits a 34.81% improvement compared with the PCNN, a 50.29% improvement compared with the charge comparison, and a 110.02% improvement compared with the zero-crossing. Additionally, the proposed method features the second-fastest discrimination time, where it is 75.67% faster than the PCNN, 70.65% faster than the charge comparison and 38.4% slower than the zero-crossing. Our study also discusses the role and change pattern of each parameter of the SCM to guide the selection process. It concludes that the SCM's outstanding ability to recognize the dynamic information in the pulse signal, improved accuracy when compared to the PCNN, and better computational complexity enables the SCM to exhibit excellent n-g discrimination performance while consuming less time.
