An exploratory study on forest carbon markets in Asia
Xiaozhi (Jeff) Cao,윤여창,설미현 한국산림과학회 2012 Forest Science And Technology Vol.8 No.1
Based on expert interviews and a structured survey with over 50 experts and industry leaders, this research provides a snapshot of forest carbon market development in Asia and offers future perspectives of challenges and opportunities. This study suggests that the carbon market is in the first generation of rigorous forest carbon standards programs. Those surveyed reflected a guardedly optimistic view that these markets will continue to be one of the solutions to address climate change. Interest in forest carbon projects was highest for ‘‘Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation’’ (REDD) and for afforestation/reforestation project types. The resonance of biodiversity conservation and community development associated with forest carbon offset projects remains attractive. Compared with other types of carbon credits, those from forest carbon are generally considered rich in co-benefits. The higher social and biodiversity benefits should therefore continue to be favored by companies (e.g. those with corporate social responsibility programs) and individuals in the voluntary market. With respect to quality of carbon credits, the quality brought about through co-benefits from the projects were the highest-rated concern factors, although the project developer experience with carbon projects was also close to the top. Additionality, leakage, permanence, baselines, monitoring and verification are all cornerstones of the quality of forest carbon credits and should have direct impacts on the market price of carbon credits.
Assessment of Neoadjuvant Treatment Response Using Automated Breast Ultrasound in Breast Cancer
Xiaozhi Dang,Xin Zhang,Yi Gao,Hongping Song 한국유방암학회 2022 Journal of breast cancer Vol.25 No.4
Breast imaging techniques are used to assess the tumor response to neoadjuvant treatment (NAT), which is increasingly one of the preferred therapeutic options and increases the rate of breast conservation for breast cancer. Herein, we report a case in which a woman was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma in the left breast and received NAT before surgery. Automated breast ultrasound (AB US) was regularly performed before and during the NAT to evaluate the tumor response to NAT by measuring diameter changes and volume reductions of the tumor. Images showed that the tumor size was significantly reduced and disappeared after 7 cycles of NAT, except for macrocalcification. Postoperative histopathological examination confirmed that there were no residual tumor cells. We found that AB US overcame the limitations of handheld US, such as operator dependence, poor reproducibility and limited field of view, and can be an alternative modality to assess the tumor response of NAT in the absence of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) instruments.
Design and Testing of a New 3-DOF Spatial Flexure Parallel Micropositioning Stage
Xiaozhi Zhang,Qingsong Xu 한국정밀공학회 2018 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.19 No.1
This paper presents the design and testing of a novel 3-DOF parallel flexure micropositioning stage for micro-scale operations. The proposed modular design can obtain the merit of high interchangeability during maintenance process. The output platform of the mechanism offers pure translational motion along X, Y, and Z axes by resorting to the flexure guiding of two parallelogram joints. Meanwhile, the output motion is decoupled by using two leaves with symmetric ellipse-shaped flexure hinges, and the platform provides isolated movement without parasitic motion. By using the bridge-type and lever-type compound amplifier, the micropositioning stage provides a large output displacement, which is over 30 times the input displacement provided by piezoelectric actuator. The enlarged displacement is translated to the orthogonal parallel mechanism by four straight beams, which provide perfect decoupling properties. In addition, the modular design principle makes it possible to adopt multiple materials to balance the performance of the actuator and decoupling flexure hinges. Analytical analysis and finite element analysis simulation are conducted to verify the fine decoupling property and large translational motion of the proposed 3-DOF parallel micropositioning stage. Moreover, a prototype is fabricated using multiple materials for experimental testing. Results demonstrate the promising performance of the developed decoupled micropositioning stage.

With the development of the network organization, the psychological contract theory has become an important tool to promote the efficiency of the network organization. In this paper, we test the psychological contract problems from college physical education teachers, and try to improve their mental health. By using empirical analysis, the result shows that in four-dimensional degree of PE Teachers' psychological contract: RMSEA=0.06, GFI=0.95, CFI=0.94, IFI=0.94, NNFI=0.9. And in three-dimensional degree of colleges responsibility: RMSEA = 0.066, GFI = 0.92, CFI = 0.93, IFI = 0.93, NFI = 0.92. So that ,the dimensional structure is a reasonable assumption, at the same time, the overall situation of university teachers' psychological contract is good, the degree of importance as follows: development contract, the basic guarantee contracts, contract trading norms, interpersonal contract, balancing contracts, management contracts and innovation contract.
Diffusion Encoding Methods in MRI: Perspectives and Challenges
Alan Finkelstein,Xiaozhi Cao,Congyu Liao,Giovanni Schifitto,Jianhui Zhong 대한자기공명의과학회 2022 Investigative Magnetic Resonance Imaging Vol.26 No.4
Diffusion MRI (dMRI) is an important imaging modality that is used extensively to diagnose and monitor diseases. dMRI measures random motion of water molecules and helps elucidate microstructural properties of tissues. Optimal diffusion encoding paradigms have been developed to reduce acquisition time, minimize artifacts, and acquire high fidelity data needed for advanced modeling of tissue properties. To further probe microstructural properties, joint diffusion-relaxometry and diffusion weighted MR fingerprinting have garnered interest. A thorough knowledge of different diffusion encoding methods is essential to accurately encode diffusion in MR experiments. Here, we review fundamental physics of diffusion encoding methods, their associated challenges, and how to address them. Advanced diffusion acquisition methods are also discussed.
Molybdenum Dioxide-Anchored Graphene Foam as a Negative Electrode Material for Supercapacitors
Xuemei Mu,Xiaozhi Liu,Ke Zhang,Jian Li,Jinyuan Zhou,ER-QING XIE,Zhenxing Zhang 대한금속·재료학회 2016 ELECTRONIC MATERIALS LETTERS Vol.12 No.2
Molybdenum dioxide nanoparticles of diameter 100 nm were anchoreduniformly to a three-dimensional (3D) graphene foam using an ultrasonicationassisteddeposition method. X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopyindicated that the molybdenum dioxide nanoparticles had a monoclinic crystalstructure. The 3D graphene/MoO2 nanoparticle composite showed excellentpseudocapacitive ability as its specific capacitance reached 404 F g−1 at a scanrate of 2 mV s−1 in the negative potential range, −1.0 to −0.2 V, in a neutralsolution. Overall, the 3D graphene/MoO2 nanoparticle composite has greatpotential as an anode material for the next generation of high-performancesupercapacitors.

Bacterial species in the genus Xanthomonas infect virtually all crop plants. Although many genes involved in Xanthomonas virulence have been identified through molecular and cellular studies, the elucidation of virulence-associated regulatory circuits is still far from complete. Functional gene networks have proven useful in generating hypotheses for genetic factors of biological processes in various species. Here, we present a genome-scale co-functional network of Xanthomonas oryze pv. oryzae (Xoo) genes, XooNet (www.inetbio.org/xoonet/), constructed by integrating heterogeneous types of genomics data derived from Xoo and other bacterial species. XooNet contains 106,000 functional links, which cover approximately 83% of the coding genome. XooNet is highly predictive for diverse biological processes in Xoo and can accurately reconstruct cellular pathways regulated by two-component signaling transduction systems (TCS). XooNet will be a useful in silico research platform for genetic dissection of virulence pathways in Xoo.
