      • Investigation on Chinese Manuscripts of Yao Nationality in Shaye Li Wu area, Laos

Xiaoyang,Xaejao Kaosien (Laos),Zhang Yanping 아시아사회과학학회 2021 Jornal of Asia Social Science Vol.3 No.1

There are a large number of manuscripts written in Chinese characters mixed with Yao folk characters in Li Wu area of Shaye, Laos. These documents are precious materials for studying Yao culture and physical evidence of Chinese Han culture spreading along with Yao’s migration. After investigating 48 paper manuscripts in Chinese collected by Panyao Master in Shaye Li Wu, Laos, it is found that the contents of manuscripts are mainly related to Mongolian studies, literature and religious culture. Yao manuscripts in Chinese have a high recognition among Yao men in Shaye Li Wu area, Laos, but there is a danger of dying out gradually, so it is necessary to strengthen protection and inheritance. Coordinating the strength of the government and all parties, strengthening Chinese teaching, strengthening publicity and development and utilization, enhancing Yao women’s awareness of Chinese manuscripts, and establishing Yao cultural libraries and study centers are effective measures to protect Yao Chinese manuscripts and enhance the cohesion and self-confidence of local Yao ethnic groups.

Evaluating the Safety and Control Scheme of Coastal Railway Using Land Subsidence Coupling Model

        Xiao Yang,Chao Jia,Tian Yang,Yue Yao,Xiaowei Zhang 대한토목학회 2024 KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering Vol.28 No.2

Uneven settlement caused by excessive exploitation of groundwater will seriously affect the smooth operation of high-speed railways. This study takes the Jinwei high-speed railway as an example to explore the development characteristics and distribution of groundwater and land subsidence along the railway under the influence of groundwater exploitation. Based on the comprehensive analysis of hydrogeological conditions and soil characteristics, a three-dimensional coupling model of groundwater seepage and land subsidence was established. The groundwater flow field and land subsidence along the railway under different mining schemes were quantified, and the prevention and control scheme to ensure the smooth operation of the high-speed railway was determined. The results show that the coupling model verified by groundwater and subsidence monitoring data can better simulate the development process of land subsidence. The subsidence center along the railway line is located between DK315 ~ DK327, with a predicted maximum subsidence rate of 16.36 mm/a. The second most serious area is located between DK295 ~ DK309, with a maximum subsidence rate of 12.21 mm/a. The maximum ban on mining along the railway is extended to 350 m at the section DK295 ~ DK309, and to 450 m at the section DK315 ~ DK325, which can minimize the impact of land subsidence on the high-speed railway.

Morphological and Mechanical Changes in Ovariectomized Rat Tibia with Treatments of Ibandronate and Parathyroid Hormone

        Xiao Yang,Yong Hoow Chan,Padmalosini Muthukumaran,이태용 대한골다공증학회 2010 Osteoporosis and Sarcopenia Vol.8 No.3

Osteoporosis is a debilitating disease affecting the elderly population, associated with compromised stability and reduced mobility of the bone. Osteoporosis is diagnosed as a condition when the measured bone mineral density (BMD) falls below 2.5 standard deviations of peak mass. However, BMD alone might not be enough to define the osteoporotic condition because it does not accounts on the micro-architectural changes in the bone trabeculae. Thus, this study aimed at studying the micro- architecural changes in trabeculae rich bone metaphysis of ovariectomized rat models in comparison with the conventional BMD measurements and the mechanical parameters. In this study, proximal tibiae of twenty-five female rats from four different groups (SHAM, OVX, IBAN and PTH) were evaluated using micro-CT, pQCT and three point bending tests. The micro-CT analysis showed that the deterioration of trabecular bone was significant during the first 6 weeks after OVX surgery. During the early stage of osteoporosis, the trabecular density decreased more rapidly than the cortical density. Morphological analysis showed that early administration of both ibandronate and parathyroid hormone has a beneficial effect on restoring the trabecular structures. Bone mechanical properties of treatment groups did not show significant difference, but followed the overall trend as morphological indices. The results suggest that early administration of either ibandronate or PTH is effective in restoring the trabecular bone loss caused by osteoporosis. However, larger-scale studies should be conducted to better understand the effect of both anti-resorptive and anabolic treatments in terms of morphological and mechanical properties.

Dry hob with heat transfer enhancement based on field synergy and its temperature field distribution

        Xiao Yang,Lang He,Peng Chen,Benjie Li,Yan-bin Du 대한기계학회 2023 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.37 No.7

Excessive heat accumulation is an essential factor in dry hob wear. Given this problem, this research is conducted on a dry hob with heat transfer enhancement by field synergy (FS-HTE dry hob). Firstly, through the combination of simulation and thermal image reconstruction, the heat accumulation behavior and thermal-induced wear mechanism are investigated for traditional dry hob. Then, using field synergy theory, a three-dimensional solid model is established for FS-HTE dry hob based on the structure of traditional dry hob. Finally, a process experiment by fluid-solid coupling simulation is executed to explore the temperature field distribution law of the FS-HTE dry hob as well as the temperature control mechanism. Results show that the minimum average temperature can be reached for the FS-HTE dry hob characterized by 0° synergy angle. It is also beneficial to suppress the thermal-induced wear benefiting from the characteristics of value and distribution law for the high-temperature region. The research demonstrates a potential method for the thermal-induced wear suppression of dry hob in green dry hobbing.

An Analytical Model of Chip Heat-Carrying Capacity for High-Speed Dry Hobbing Based on 3D Chip Geometry

        Xiao Yang,Huajun Cao,Yong-peng Chen,Li-Bin Zhu,Ben-jie Li 한국정밀공학회 2017 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.18 No.2

High-speed dry hobbing is the dominating green technique for gear hobbing owing to its high productivity and environmental friendliness. However, a large amount of cutting heat is generated during the machining process due to the absence of metalworking fluids and the adoption of high cutting speed. A better understanding of chip heat-carrying capacity for high-speed dry hobbing is quite necessary when aiming to reduce the influence of cutting heat on machining precision. In this paper, an analytical model is established to quantitatively determine the chip heat-carrying capacity of high-speed dry hobbing. According to the progressive heat transfer characteristic of high-speed dry hobbing, cutting heat generation and transmission are analyzed. 3D chip geometry is numerically calculated by modeling the complex hob geometry and the interrelated kinematic relations of high-speed dry hobbing. Based on the 3D chip geometry and the specific cutting energy, chip heat-carrying capacity model is developed considering three heat sources. In this model, chip heat partition is experimentally determined by calorimetric method. With the help of the developed model, chip heat-carrying quantity and chip heat-carrying efficiency are discussed by investigating their influence factors (hob rotation speed, axial feed, feed method, chip removal time and hob geometry).

Objective: To observe treatment effects and safety of fluvoxamine combined with oxycodone prolonged-release tablets in treating patients with moderate to severe cancer pain. Methods: Patients confirmed pathologically with cancer and complicated with moderate to severe pain, were divided into control and experimental groups. Oxycodone prolonged-release tablets, with or without fluvoxamine, were administrated to all study patients until pain relief. Degree of pain relief, dose of oxycodone prolonged-release tablets, side effects and quality of life were compared before and after treatment. Results: In total, 120 patients were recruited. No statistically significant difference was detected regarding age, gender, types of cancer, KPS between two groups of patients (P>0.05). Baseline pain score of patients with moderate pain in treatment and control group was $4.9{\pm}0.8$ and $5.1{\pm}0.8$, respectively; and decreased to $1.8{\pm}1.1$ and $1.2{\pm}1.1$ after treatment, respectively. Pain intensity was significantly reduced in the treatment group (P=0.028). Average daily consumption of oxycodone prolonged-release tablets was ($54.0{\pm}19.6$) mg and ($44.7{\pm}18.7$) mg respectively, which is lower in treatment grpup than in control group, but the difference was not statistically significant (P=0.065). Baseline pain score of patients with severe pain in treatment and control groups were $8.3{\pm}1.1$ and $8.3{\pm}1.1$, respectively; and pain intensity after treatment decreased to $2.9{\pm}1.0$ and $2.3{\pm}1.0$. Pain intensity was significantly reduced in the treatment group, with statistical significance (P=0.026). Average daily consumption of oxycodone prolonged-release tablets was ($132.0{\pm}42.2$) mg and ($110.7{\pm}33.9$) mg, respectively, which is lower in treatment group than in control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P=0.035). In terms of quality of life, patients in treatment group had better performance status, daily activity, mood, and sleep than that in control group (P < 0.05). Patients in two groups had similar side effects, eg., constipation, nausea/vomiting, lethargy, dizziness, itchy skin, dysuria, and ataxia. Lower incidence of nausea/vomiting, lethargy, was obtained from patients in treatment than in control group, while significant low constipation was observed in treatment than in control group (35.0% vs 49.2%, P=0.026). Conclusion: Fluvoxamine combined with oxycodone prolonged-release tablets could be more effective in treating patients with cancer pain, and could reduce the dosage of oxycodone prolonged-release tablets and thus be associated with lower side effects, and improved quality of life.
