In this paper, the autolysis process of Saccharomyces cerevisiae FX-2 (S. cerevisiae FX-2) via, a variety of endogenous enzyme, was investigated systematically by analyzing changes in physicochemical parameters in autolysate, surface morphology and the internal structure of the yeast cells. As an explicit conclusion, the arisen autolysis depended on the pH and the optimal pH was found to be 5.5. Based on the experimental data and the characteristics of mycelia morphology, a hypothesis is put forward that simple proteins in yeast vacuolar are firstly degraded for utilization, and then more membrane- bound proteins are hydrolyzed to release hydrolytic enzymes, which arouse an enzymatic reaction to induce the collapse of the cell wall into the cytoplasm.

Xiao Li,Ting Guan,Dongcai Zhou,Chunbao Liu 대한기계학회 2014 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.28 No.9
This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of the bladder power pump driven by an external electromagnet proposed by the authors. The structure of the pump was designed based on its working principle. The mathematical model and 3D finite element model of theelectromagnetic field of the pump were established. The electromagnetic driving property of the pump was analyzed using the models, and the micturition performance of the pump was investigated in the simulated experimental system. Results show that maximum intravesicalpressure and maximum urine flow rate reached 10.8 KPa and 13.9 cm³/s, respectively, approaching the normal human urodynamicparameters. This novel pump has the potential of being used for assisting neurogenic bladder micturition.

The objective of this paper is to investigate an accurate on-line parameters identification method for PMSM. Because a majority of controllers are based on motor models, the parameters of stator resistance and dq-axis inductances play important roles for achieving high-performance control. However, voltage drop between the reference and output voltage in a pulsewidth-modulation (PWM) voltage source inverter affects the accuracy of identification. In this paper a model-reference adaptive identification method is proposed with a simple method for compensating the voltage drop of inverter in the driven system. The global stability of adaptive laws is proved by the Popov’s hyper-stability theory. Simulation results proved that the estimated stator resistance and dq-axis inductances converge to the constant after the rotor speed becomes stable. The compensation method introduced in the MRAS is easy to implement without any additional circuits. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed identified method and the compensation method.
Design and Control of Bi-directional DC/DC converter for 30kW fuel cell power system
Xiao Li,Wenping Zhang,Haijin Li,Ren Xie,Dehong Xu 전력전자학회 2011 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2011 No.5
Fuel cell (FC) power system is considered as an alternative energy power generation system in the future. This paper studies the bidirectional DC/DC converter for a 30㎾ three-phase fuel cell power system. The FC power system is sensitive to load characteristics in stand-alone mode, because rapid change or unbalance of the three-phase load will endanger the safety and expectancy of fuel cell. The bidirectional DC/DC converter with energy storage component is used to provide the dynamic power to avoid fast changing in fuel cell output. In addition, it acts as DC bus capacitors to absorb the low frequency current ripple. Therefore, fuel cell is separated from the low frequency current ripple and large DC bus electrolytic capacitors can be eliminated. Through investigating topology of the bidirectional DC/DC converter, three-level bidirectional DC/DC converter (TLBD) is used for the 30㎾ fuel cell power system. The design and control of the TL-DB is described. TL-DB with its control strategy is verified by the experimental results.
Prediction of Tubular T/Y-Joint SIF by GA-BP Neural Network
Xiao Li,Shier Dong,Hazem Samih Mohamed,Ghiath Al Aqel,Nima Pirhadi 대한토목학회 2020 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.24 No.9
In fracture mechanics, the fatigue evaluation depends on the precise provisions of the stress intensity factor (SIF), which is a quantitative factor established to evaluate the effect of stresses along the crack front. Stress intensity factor performs a definitive role in reflecting material fracture and estimating fatigue life of tubular joints. Some researchers have proposed a series of parametric equations to predict SIF values; however, it gave arguably inaccurate results. There is still a need to improve the accuracy of the SIF prediction’s equation. Thus, to overcome this shortage, this study introduced back-propagation (BP) neural network with conjunction to genetic algorithm (GA) (GA-BP) in predicting the SIF of cracked tubular T/Y-joint. To train and verify the results of the hybrid algorithm GA-BP, SIFs' database covers a wide variety of cracked tubular T/Y joints were simulated by ABAQUS and verified against experimental results. Meanwhile, the SIFs' result produced by the GA-BP optimization method were compared with those SIF calculated from the accessible parametric equations. The comparison indicated that the GA-BP neural network optimization method is reliable, precise and capable tool in calculating the SIFs of cracked T/Y joints and it also provides higher accuracy than common methods.
Couple-group L2-L∞ Consensus of Nonlinear Multi-agent Systems with Markovian Switching Topologies
Xiao Li,Cancan Zhou,Jianping Zhou,Zhen Wang,Jianwei Xia 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2019 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.17 No.3
The paper is devoted to the couple-group L2-L∞ consensus problem of nonlinear multi-agent systemsaffected by external disturbances. The interaction topologies among agents obey a continuous-time Markovianprocess with unknown transition probabilities. By a system transformation, the problem of couple-group L2-L∞ consensus is converted into a L2-L∞ control issue. Then, by Lyapunov stability theory and graph theory, sufficientconditions for the couple-group L2-L∞ consensus are obtained. The control gains can be acquired via the solutionsof a group of linear matrix inequalities. Moreover, the present method is extended to the multi-group L2-L∞consensus. Finally, an example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the results.
Preference for Appearance over Substance and Corporate Investment
Xiao Li,정부천,이우종,Jing Zhou 한국증권학회 2019 Asia-Pacific Journal of Financial Studies Vol.48 No.2
Preference for appearance over substance (AOS) refers to people’s desire to look better than their actual appearance. In this paper, we explore the economic implications of AOS on corporate investment. Using novel country-level proxies for AOS based on the prevalence of plastic surgery and cosmetic industry concentration, we first document that AOS is negatively (positively) associated with investment sensitivity to growth opportunities (cash flows). Second, external financing is less (more) affected by growth opportunities (cash flows) in stronger AOS countries than in weaker AOS countries. We conclude that people’s preference for AOS leads firms to suboptimal investment.

Xiao Li,Seungwoo Lee,Nam Kim,Chul-Ho Kim 한국전자파학회JEES 2011 Journal of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science Vol.11 No.3
This paper presents a CPW-fed antenna with three slots. The proposed antenna can operate at 1.9~2.1 ㎓ and 2.9~3.3 ㎓ which are generated by the two rectangular slots, and 4.5~11.6 ㎓ which is generated by the main patch. The semicircle-slot is used as a band-notched filter to stop at a desired band (5.150~5.825 ㎓) limited by IEEE 802.11a or HIPERLAN/2 applications. The currents concentrate around corresponding slots at the desired band. The proposed antenna is very small in size, with overall dimensions of 27×32×1 ㎣ etched onto an FR4-printed circuit board (PCB).
The management of hydatidiform mole with lung nodule: a retrospective analysis in 53 patients
Xiao Li,Yaping Xu,Yuanyuan Liu,Xiaodong Cheng,Xinyu Wang,Weiguo Lu,Xing Xie 대한부인종양학회 2019 Journal of Gynecologic Oncology Vol.30 No.2
Objective: To investigate the significance of lung nodule in hydatidiform mole, we retrospectively compared the clinical outcomes of those patients treated with different strategies. Methods: The patients were divided into three groups: chemotherapy immediately once lung nodule was detected (group 1, n=17), delayed chemotherapy until human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG) level met the diagnostic criteria for gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) (group 2, n=18), and hCG surveillance alone until hCG level was normalized spontaneously (group 3, n=18). The clinical parameters of these patients were collected and analyzed. Results: Totally 53 (4.0%) patients were included from 1,323 cases with molar pregnancy during past 16 years. Among them, the diameters of lung nodules were 0.3–2.5 cm. Chemotherapy cycles for achieving hCG normalization and the failure rate of first-line chemotherapy in group 1 were significantly increased than that in group 2 (5 vs. 3 cycles, p=0.000, 58.8% vs. 11.1%, p=0.005). The hCG level of all 18 cases in group 3 was normalized spontaneously within 6 months. Of those, lung nodules of 9 patients disappeared spontaneously, accounting for 25% (9/36) of patients who initially selected observation. The proportion of single nodule in group 3 was significantly higher than that in group 2 (10/18 vs. 2/18, p=0.012). Conclusion: Our results suggest that lung nodule alone is not an adequate indication of chemotherapy in molar pregnancy. hCG surveillance is safe for patients with lung nodule, especially with single nodule, as long as their hCG levels do not meet International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics diagnostic criteria for GTN.
