Anatase TiO2 nanoparticles doped with Sc and V were synthesized and their photocatalytic activities were evaluated through the photodegradation of rhodamine-B under UV irradiation. TiO2 shows the highest photocatalytic activity and Sc doped TiO2 and V doped TiO2 show lower photocatalytic activity than TiO2. In contrast, Sc and V codoped TiO2 shows no any photocatalytic activity. The reasons for the decrease in photocatalytic activity is due to the presence of surficial Sc2O3 islands covering the reactive sites for Sc doped TiO2 and the increased e-/h+ pair recombination resulted from the high level substitutional V(IV) ions for V doped TiO2, respectively.
Prediction of postoperative pancreatic fistula using a nomogram based on the updated definition

Purpose: The International Study Group on Pancreatic Fistula’s definition of postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF) has recently been updated. This study aimed to identify risk factors for POPF in patients having pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) and to generate a nomogram to predict POPF. Methods: Data on 298 patients who underwent PD from March 2012 to October 2017 was retrospectively reviewed and POPF statuses were redefined. A nomogram was constructed using data from 220 patients and validated using the remaining 78 patients. Independent risk factors for POPF were identified using univariate and multivariate analyses. A predictive nomogram was established based on the independent risk factors and was compared with existing models. Results: Texture of the pancreas, size of the main pancreatic duct, portal vein invasion, and definitive pathology were the identified risk factors. The nomogram had a C-index of 0.793 and was internally validated. The nomogram performed better (C-index of 0.816) than the other most cited models (C-indexes of 0.728 and 0.735) in the validation cohort. In addition, the nomogram can assign patients into low- (less than 10%), intermediate- (10% to 30%), and high-risk (equal or higher than 30%) groups to facilitate personalized management. Conclusion: The nomogram accurately predicted POPF in patients having PD.
Characteristics and Model for Growth of Rhizopus oryzae on the Simulated Gas-solid Interface

N/A In order to investigate the effect on morphology of Rhizopus oryzae and production of lactic acid, various interface materials were used. Morphology of fungal showed sheet and flock when resin was added. The production of lactic acid was increased dramatically when interface materials were added. Furthermore, the effect of resin was more significant than that of others. It was assumed that interface materials could absorb substrate and microorganism together, so microorganism was not inhibited by substrate. The effect of static electric field on the interface culture was studied. When the exerting potential was 6.78 voltage, the biomass y was obviously higher than that of zero voltage. A simulated gas-solid interface system was developed to study the growth and two phases model for the growth of Rhizopus oryzae was build up that depended on the symmetric branching theory. An important parameter F was researched. The results indicated that the value of F had obvious difference at exponential and deceleration period, respectively.

Due to change of instustrial structure, secondary industy-centered industry facilites lost their function and they are neglected in city. Neglected facilites are desolated and they damage to surroundings of a scene. Recently, plannings of idle facilites for changing into new cultural space based on local culture and identity are actively researched. Idle industrial facilities have potential value such as historic, sociocultural and economical things. By utilizing these values for new function, it can be one of positive methods for urban regeneration. These days, regeneration of idle industrial facilites are actively performed. We judged that it is needed to be researched related to ways of continuous operation. Thus, this paper aims to analyze SungSu dong where changes are actively performed. We selected five target places in SungSu dong. Those targets preserved strucrture with reinforcement for maintaining histroric and symbolic meaning of the past industrial facilities. Purpose change is conducted to multi-complex space such as cafe and gallery for various cultural experience and relaxation of contemporary people.
