A Study on the Cultural Interpretation of Taekwondo Origin and Okinawa Origin

        Wonhee Lee(Wonhee Lee),Ilhoon Song(Ilhoon Song) J-INSTITUTE 2022 International Journal of Martial Arts Vol.7 No.2

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine and analyze the cultural base of the Three Taegeuk in depth in Subak, karate(dangsu), Goryeo, Joseon, and Ryukyuguk, and to present the identity of the historical and cul-tural aspects of Taekwondo. Method: The method of this study was to examine and analyze the cultural base of Taekwondo of Subak and karate in depth, to present the identity of Taekwondo in the historical and cultural aspects, and to present the traditionality and legitimacy of Taekwondo in the national flag. Results: The re-establishment of Taekwondo is essential due to the theory of origin of Okinawa, but most Taekwondo people lack the recognition of historicality. Okinawa had close interaction with us in the Joseon Dyn-asty. This means that there are some reliably authentic documents and relics that are related to Subaks and party Subaks, that is, there should be an in-depth analysis on the historical recognition of the origin theory of Taekwondo in Okinawa. This can be a medium to open historical horizons to Taekwondo people. Conclusion: The re-establishment of Taekwondo is essential due to the origin of Taekwondo in Okinawa, but most Taekwondo people are very lacking in historical awareness. Okinawa had close exchanges with us during the Joseon Dynasty, and when we saw it, there were credible ancient documents and artifacts that were related to Subaks and party trees. If Taekwondo academics do not present this, and go to this state, it may bring about a crisis of identity for the national Taekwondo physical education culture. Therefore, there should be a clear argument and a clear argument about Taekwondo history of Taekwondo history. Furthermore, we can present the right historical values and instill the right Taekwondo history education to our descendants.

      • Integrative Transcriptome and Metabolome Analysis o fHepatic Cancer Stem Cells

( Wonhee Hur ),( Jae Yong Ryu ),( Hyun Uk Kim ),( Jun Ho Lee ),( Eun Byul Lee ),( Sang Yup Lee ),( Seung Kew Yoon ) 대한간학회 2016 춘·추계 학술대회 (KASL) Vol.2016 No.1

Background: Liver cancer stem cells (LCSCs) are known to be responsible for cancer recurrence, metastasis and resistance to radiation and chemotherapy. Hence, understanding mechanisms of their resistance to several cancer treatments are critical in combating cancers. In an attempt to metabolic characterization by which CD133 expressing LCSCs mediate tumor formation and growth, metabolic pathway analysis was employed to compare metabolic changes between CD133+ and CD133-isolated from the HCC cells. Methods: CD133(+) and CD133(-) Huh-7 cell were isolated by FACS. Transcriptomic profiles of CD133-expressing LCSCs and exo-metabolic profiles of 60 cancer cell lines were integrated with a human generic metabolic model, Recon 2, to generate CD133(+)/(-) specific liver cancer metabolic models; these two models were employed to simulate their metabolic states. Results: Metabolome analyses were conducted for both CD133(+) and CD133(-) Huh-7 cells in order to directly observe global metabolic changes through quantification of intracellular metabolites in these two types of LCSCs. In this study, we show that the intracellular ATP concentration was 42% higher in the metabolic model of the CD133(+) cells, compared to the CD133(-) cells. Furthermore, we have demonstrated that the increased expression of c-Myc in the metabolic model of the CD133(+) cells induced cell proliferation, glycolysis and glutaminolysis. c-Myc expression in CD133(+) cells induced fatty acid oxidation and mitochondrial biogenesis genes. Our data suggest that c-Myc expression in CD133-expressing LCSCs regulates glucose metabolism and mitochondrial biogenesis and is an important regulator of energy metabolism in the liver cancer in response to pathologic stress. Conclusions: Integrative systems analysis involving constraint-based modeling and simulation was conducted to better understand metabolic characteristics of LCSCs and potential cues for their anticancer treatment resistances. In conclusion, the prediction results from these integrative systems metabolic analysis conducted herein will further contribute to elucidating metabolic pathway of liver cancer cell.

      • Risk factors for postoperative delirium in the elderly who underwent spine surgery postoperative cognitive decline and identifying associated biomarkers using exosomes

        Wonhee Baek,Hyangkyu Lee 한국간호과학회 2021 한국간호과학회 학술대회 Vol.2021 No.10

Background: Since there is a high incidence of delirium after spinal surgery and the prognosis is poor, it is important to predict and detect delirium early by identifying risk factors for delirium before surgery. In addition, since delirium symptoms are episodic and are common in the elderly, the rate of diagnosis by the medical staff is low. Therefore, it is necessary to search for biomarkers that are helpful in the prediction and diagnosis of delirium. Based on Jeffrey and Stacie"s (2013) model of the potential relationships among anesthesia, surgery, and the ultimate development of long-term cognitive impairment, this study aimed to investigate the risk factors affecting postoperative delirium in older adults who have undergone spine surgery, identify the association between postoperative delirium and cognitive decline, and discover the biological markers. Methods: Data collection was carried out from October 23, 2019 to May 20, 2020 on 100 patients over 70 years of age who underwent spinal surgery at S city Y hospital. Urine exosomes were analyzed for tau, UCH-L1, NFL, and GFAP using a single molecule array (Simoa). The collected data were analyzed using the R program (Version 4.0.0). Results: There were differences between delirious and non-delirious participants with regard to their past history of psychiatric illness and use of benzodiazepines (p=.005 and p=.026, respectively). There was a difference in the ratios of preoperative WBC and total protein between delirious and non-delirious participants (p=.013, p=.013, respectively). There was a difference in the ratios of CRP and eosinophil count on the day of operation between delirious and non-delirious participants (p=.05 and p=.013, respectively). Tau and UCH-L1 concentrations were found to be high in the severely delirious participants (p=.002 and p=.001, respectively). The MMSE scores upon discharge (p<.012) and the differences between the preoperative and postoperative MMSE scores (p<.009) were significantly different between delirious and non-delirious participants. Conclusion: Based on these results, medical staff will be able to accurately investigate risk factors before surgery, classify high-risk patients, and predict and detect delirium early. In addition, since delirious participants are at risk for cognitive decline, follow-up and preventive interventions for cognitive dysfunction will be required, depending on the patient. In addition, exosome analysis of the urine of patients showed that there was a high degree of brain injury in delirious patients after surgery.

Position Control Using Lyapunov Based Current Control for Sawyer Motors

        Wonhee Kim(김원희),Donghoon Shin(신동훈),Youngwoo Lee(이영우) 제어로봇시스템학회 2018 제어·로봇·시스템학회 논문지 Vol.24 No.11

Proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controls have been widely used for Sawyer motors. The electrical dynamics are generally neglected in general PID controller since the electrical dynamics are faster than the mechanical dynamics. However, when the current control is used, the phase currents are reduced by back-emf and have the phase lags due to inductances. Thus, the electrical dynamics should be considered to improve the performance of PID control. In this paper, a position control using Lyapunov based current control is developed for improved performance of PID control. The proposed method consists of PID controllers for mechanical dynamics and Lyapunov-based controllers for electrical dynamics. PID controllers make the desired forces and torque to track the position profiles of X and Y with regulation of yaw. And the commutation scheme from the desired forces and torque to the desired phase currents are used. For the design of Lyapunov-based control, the stabilities of the equilibrium points are studied using Lyapunov method. Then, Lyapunov-based control is designed to compensate back-emfs and phase lags. Furthermore, the proposed method guarantees the exponential stabilities of desired currents for PID control. And, the closed-loop system is analyzed. The proposed method considering the electrical dynamics is designed without any coordinate transformation. Therefore, it could reduce the commutation delay. Simulation results show that the tracking performance of PID controller is improved by the proposed method.

      • Global Output Tracking and Rejection of Multi Biased Sinusoidal Disturbances with Unknown Frequencies for Nonlinear Systems

Wonhee Kim,Chung Choo Chung 제어로봇시스템학회 2011 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2011 No.10

Global output tracking and rejection of multi biased sinusoidal disturbances with unknown frequencies for nonlinear systems is considered. Disturbance observers (DOBs) in the form of a high pass filter are proposed to estimate multiple biased sinusoidal disturbances with unknown frequencies. The nonlinear control method is designed to compensate the estimation errors of the disturbances and guarantee the global output tracking. The matching conditions is no significant in the proposed method. The proposed method imposes no restriction on the number of disturbances, and no restriction such as biased sinusoidal signals. Therefore, the complete rejection of multi sinusoidal disturbance with stabilization can be achieved by the proposed method.

A Case of Infantile Fungal Urinary Tract Infection

        Wonhee Cho,Young Min Jo,Yun Kyo Oh,Ji Woo Rim,Won Uk Lee,Kyongeun Choi,Jeong Hee Ko,Yeon Jin Jeon,Yumi Choi 대한소아신장학회 2019 Childhood kidney diseases Vol.23 No.2

Urinary tract infection is common in the pediatric population. The most common causative agents are bacteria, among which Escherichia coli is the most frequent uropathogen. Although fungal urinary tract infection is rare in the healthy pediatric population, it is relatively common among hospitalized patients. Fungus may be isolated from the urine of immunocompromised patients or that of patients with indwelling catheters. The most common cause of funguria is Candida albicans . Although more than 50% of Candida isolates belong to non-albicans Candida , the prevalence of non-albicans candiduria is increasing. Herein, we report a case of community-acquired candiduria in a 4-month-old immunocompetent male infant who had bilateral vesicoureteral reflux and was administered antibiotic prophylaxis. He was diagnosed with urinary tract infection caused by Candida lusitaniae and was managed with fluconazole.
