PURPOSE Bone density at implant placement site is a key factor to obtain the primary stability of the fixture, which, in turn, is a prognostic factor for osseointegration and long-term success of an implant supported rehabilitation. Recently, an implant motor with a bone density measurement probe has been introduced. The aim of the present study was to test the objectiveness of the bone densities registered by the implant motor regardless of the operator performing them. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 3704 bone density measurements, performed by means of the implant motor, were registered by 39 operators at different implant sites during routine activity. Bone density measurements were grouped according to their distribution across the jaws. Specifically, four different areas were distinguished: a pre-antral (between teeth from first right maxillary premolar to first left maxillary premolar) and a sub-antral (more distally) zone in the maxilla, and an interforaminal (between and including teeth from first left mandibular premolar to first right mandibular premolar) and a retroforaminal (more distally) zone in the lower one. A statistical comparison was performed to check the inter-operators variability of the collected data. RESULTS The device produced consistent and operator-independent bone density values at each tooth position, showing a reliable bone-density measurement. CONCLUSION The implant motor demonstrated to be a helpful tool to properly plan implant placement and loading irrespective of the operator using it.
Oleuropein Prevents Azoxymethane-Induced Colon Crypt Dysplasia and Leukocytes DNA Damage in A/J Mice

Previous studies have shown that the precursor of olive oil secoiridoids, Oleuropein (OL) has several in vitro chemopreventive properties. OL inhibits proliferation and induces apoptosis in breast, thyroid, prostate, and colorectal cancer (CRC) cells. Much less is known about the effects of OL on animal models of carcinogenesis. In this study, we investigated the ability of OL to prevent the azoxymethane (AOM)-induced colon cancer upset and DNA damage in mice. Animals, fed with a basal diet either enriched or not with OL (125 mg/kg), were injected with AOM (10 mg/kg, once a week for 6 weeks) and sacrificed after either 7 weeks for histological analysis of colon crypt dysplasia and evaluation of DNA damage in leukocytes or 17 weeks for counting the macroscopically observable colon tumors. An OL-enriched diet prevented the AOM-induced preneoplastic lesions in different colon segments, reducing the severity of crypt dysplasia and DNA damage in peripheral leukocytes. In addition, OL significantly reduced the AOM-induced tumor incidence from 57% to 14% (P < .05, chi-square test) in the medial colon segment. This study shows that OL is able to prevent CRC and DNA damage in mice treated with the carcinogen AOM. These results stimulate further human cancer prevention studies with OL-enriched food supplements that are actually available on the market.

Objective-Addiction is often considered a dissociative behavior that is related to alexithymia and developmental trauma. The study aims were to explore the relationships between early trauma, alexithymia, and dissociation. Methods-A total of 117 (males=60; females=57) alcohol-addicted individuals and 117 healthy individuals (males=60; females=57) were administered a series of self-report questionnaires that assess traumatic experiences, alexithymia, and pathological dissociation. Results-Correlation analyses indicated significant correlations between alexithymia, dissociation, and trauma and a significant difference between the target and control groups, with higher alexithymia and dissociation scores in the target group. Conclusion-These findings suggest that trauma, alexithymia, and dissociation are predictors of alcohol addiction.

Endoscopic management is presently the recommended first-line of treatment for biliary strictures. However, surgery still has an important role especially for biliary obstruction (BO) with duodenal obstruction. Even though endoscopic treatment for concurrent BO and gastric-outlet obstruction has been proposed, it is still not widespread. Duodenal obstruction is often associated with malignant BO which makes endoscopic treatment more challenging. Biliary and gastrointestinal double bypass with Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy and gastrojejunostomy is the most common surgical intervention for malignant biliary and gastric-outlet obstruction. A variety of procedures of biliary bypass and gastrointestinal bypass have been reported. According to several studies, mortality rates range from 0% to 7%, while morbidity rates range from 3% to 50%. Higher morbidity was observed in symptomatic patients caused by the disease. Most common morbidity after double bypass was delayed gastric emptying. Recurrence of BO and gastric-outlet obstruction was less frequently seen after surgical bypass compared to after endoscopic treatment. Minimally invasive approach has been applied to double bypass. Studies showed that laparoscopic double bypass has a shorter hospital stay and reduced postoperative pain; however, due to its technical demand, it is still presently an uncommon procedure. Robotic bypass surgery may resolve this issue in the future. Further analyses of outcomes of both surgical and endoscopic treatments are necessary to establish better and suitable palliation options for concurrent biliary and duodenal obstruction caused by unresectable malignant tumors.

PURPOSE. Implant site preparation may be adjusted to achieve the maximum possible primary stability. The aim of this investigation was to study the relation among bone-to-implant contact at insertion, bone density, and implant primary stability intra-operatively measured by a torque-measuring implant motor, when implant sites were undersized or tapped. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Undersized (n=14), standard (n=13), and tapped (n=13) implant sites were prepared on 9 segments of bovine ribs. After measuring bone density using the implant motor, 40 implants were placed, and their primary stability assessed by measuring the integral of the torque-depth insertion curve. Bovine ribs were then processed histologically, the bone-toimplant contact measured and statistically correlated to bone density and the integral. RESULTS. Bone-toimplant contact and the integral of the torque-depth curve were significantly greater for undersized sites than tapped sites. Moreover, a correlation between bone to implant contact, the integral and bone density was found under all preparation conditions. The slope of the bone-to-implant/density and integral/density lines was significantly greater for undersized sites, while those corresponding to standard prepared and tapped sites did not differ significantly. CONCLUSION. The integral of the torque-depth curve provided reliable information about bone-to-implant contact and primary implant stability even in tapped or undersized sites. The linear relations found among the parameters suggests a connection between extent and modality of undersizing and the corresponding increase of the integral and, consequently, of primary stability. These results might help the physician determine the extent of undersizing needed to achieve the proper implant primary stability, according to the planned loading protocol.

Blogging has become a global phenomenon thanks to the persuasive role gained by a number of bloggers who have reached a high level of recognition and trust to the point of becoming key opinion leaders. Travel is included among the most relevant topics together with fashion and food (Websitehub, 2019). Millions of individuals have joined travel blogs to search for information and also to share their travel experiences online. A tourism product can be included among “experience goods” meaning that it is the result of a bundle of services and experiences, which are hard to evaluate before the purchase. Thus, the suggestions from other travellers who have already experienced a specific tourist destination and are able to tell the experience in a sincere and trustworthy way will become – with a high probability – the preferred source of pre-purchase information and also the most influential in travel decision making (Crotts, 1999). Therefore, travel blogging is definitely become a part of the tourist production and consumption process (Bosangit et al., 2012). However, the proliferation and diversity of blogs together with the absence of a real expertise raise the question about the role exerted by the blogger credibility on behavioural intentions of the readers. However, despite the fact that travel blogs and bloggers are gaining popularity in the blogosphere, also attracting the attention of marketing scholars (Metz, 2016; Cosenza et al., 2014), the literature review has highlighted some scientific gaps regarding the role of credibility and engagement within the blog in terms of traveller behaviour consequences. Such gaps call for further research. Starting from the above considerations, the study aims at contributing to the current knowledge on blogger credibility in terms of the potential impacts exerted by thetravel blog on behavioural consequences from interactions between credibility, motivations and engagement on post-reading travel intentions and e-WOM.
