Congestion Management Approaches in Deregulated Power System – An Illustrative Approach
Varaprasad Janamala 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Grid and Distributed Comp Vol.9 No.12
In deregulated power system with competitive electricity market environment, the provision of strategic bidding option to the market participants and its consequences are open up new challenging tasks to the system operator. The market economic efficiency is mainly dependent on transmission system support. The inability of transmission system support to drive market cleared schedule is known as congestion and which is not desirable. The remedial actions to relieve congestion in the transmission system known as congestion relief approaches and are differ in various markets around the world. The objective of this paper is to illustrate some of the technical and non-technical approaches using simple case studies.
New Algorithm for Effective Utilization of Bandwidth for Sensitive Applications
G.Varaprasad,R.S.D. Wahidabanu,P.Venkataram 보안공학연구지원센터 2008 International Journal of Software Engineering and Vol.2 No.1
In this paper, we propose an algorithm, which allocates the bandwidth in an effective manner for sensitive applications. The main idea of this work is to allocate more amount of bandwidth for particular client, who has received more votes in the network. The proposed model reduces the wastage of bandwidth and increases the throughput.

Abstract

In this paper, calcinated tea and cellulose composite (CTCC) films were fabricated via solution casting method. Chemical structure, morphology, crystallinity and thermal stability of the fabricated films were characterized by using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetric analysis. The effect of calcinated tea loading on the properties of the prepared CTCC films was studied. The results suggest that the prepared CTCC films show higher mechanical properties, thermal stability and dielectric constant than the neat cellulose film. In addition, the CTCC films adsorb Pb2+ ions and its adsorption performance depends on the calcinated tea content and pH level. The CTCC films are useful for sensors, flexible capacitor as well as lead adsorption applications.

Highlights

Calcinated tea based cellulose composite (CTCC) film was prepared by blending method.

The CTCC film shows 4 times higher dielectric constant than the pure cellulose.

The CTCC film demonstrates lead adsorption, depending on the CT content and pH.

The CTCC film is useful for sensor, flexible capacitor and metal adsorption.

Modified Digital Pulse Width Modulator for Power Converters with a Reduced Modulation Delay
Jaber Abu Qahouq,VaraPrasad Arikatla,Thanukamalam Arunachalam 전력전자학회 2012 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.12 No.1
This paper presents a digital pulse width modulator (DPWM) with a reduced digital modulation delay (a transport delay of the modulator) during the transient response of power converters. During the transient response operation of a power converter, as a result of dynamic variations such as load step-up or step-down, the closed loop controller will continuously adjust the duty cycle in order to regulate the output voltage. The larger the modulation delays, the larger the undesired output voltage deviation from the reference point. The three conventional DPWM techniques exhibit significant leading-edge and/or trailing-edge modulation delays. The DPWM technique proposed in this paper, which results in modulation delay reductions, is discussed, experimentally tested and compared with conventional modulation techniques.

The new development of inorganic (IO) nanoparticle (NPs)-based nanomedicines in anticancer therapy isan active area of research. The cellular uptake of IO NPs plays a crucial role in their efficacy as anticanceragents. In this case, IO NPs cellular uptake depends on physical and chemical parameters, including size, shape, and surface modification of the nanoparticles. From the cellular uptake, one of the essentialparameters for small size plays a critical role in the NPs’ due to their ability to passively diffuse acrossthe cell membrane or enter cells through endocytosis. In this study, the inorganic SnO2 (tin dioxide)and SA (sodium alginate) were made into SnO2 (SASnO2) using a simple one-pot green method. Biomedical studies have shown that SASnO2 NPs exhibit greater antibacterial, antioxidant, and anticancerproperties than SnO2 NPs. The prepared SnO2 and SASnO2 NPs were tested against breast cancer cells inanticancer studies. In cellular uptake studies, the smaller size of SASnO2 NPs (19 nm) resulted in highercellular uptake compared to SnO2 NPs (38 nm). The larger surface area of these SASnO2 NPs allows formore contact with biological membranes and internalization (cell uptake) by cancer cells, resulting inenhanced anticancer therapy when using SASnO2 NPs.

During ultrasonication of chitosan AgNO3 solution (10mM), silver cubic structures were identified along with other dispersed silver nanoparticles. Temperature influenced the formation of the cubic structures. Formation of the silver cubic structures occurred via initial formation of 'four petal flower-like' structures that underwent transformation to the ''cubic morphology'' in the latter stages. Aging of the reaction mixture led to formation of complete dendrites. These dendrites comprised a large quantity of silver nanoparticles. Upon repetition of the experiment with starch instead of chitosan, the identified silver cubic structures were completely absent, indicating that formation of the 'silver cubic structures' is dependent on the polysaccharide used. It is believed that the structural features of chitosan facilitate the formation of 'silver cubic structures' under ultrasonic conditions. The phenomena occurring during the experiments were evaluated via scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM-EDS), ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) spectra, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and selected area electron diffraction (SAED) analysis.

Background: DNA repair is one of the crucial defense mechanism against mutagenic exposure. Inherited SNPs of DNA repair genes may contribute to variation in DNA repair capacity and susceptibility to cancer. Due to the presence of these variants, inter-individual and ethnic differences in DNA repair capacity have been established in various populations. India harbors enormous genetic and cultural diversity. Materials and Methods: In the present study we aimed to determine the genotypes and allele frequencies of XRCC1 Arg399Gln (rs25487), XRCC3 Thr241Met (rs861539), XPD Lys751Gln (rs13181), and OGG1 Ser326Cys (rs1052133) gene polymorphisms in 186 healthy individuals residing in the Hyderabad region of India and to compare them with HapMap and other populations. Results and Conclusions: The genotype and allele frequency distribution at the four DNA repair gene loci among Hyderabad population of India revealed a characteristic pattern. Comparison of these gene polymorphisms with other populations revealed a distinctiveness of Hyderabad population from the Deccan region of India. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of such DNA repair gene polymorphisms in the Deccan Indian population.
